@magnoliasinbloom thanks! I haven’t got to the wine yet, it’s disappointing.

magnoliasinbloom · 12/02/2022 10:28

@thislittlebird that’s awesome!! Crossing my fingers for Wednesday and enjoy that vino 🙂

thislittlebird · 12/02/2022 10:25

@beckyCarlos I’m really hoping all that protein helped those eggos because I was very concerned they’d be shite. I’m 39 in May! Got all my digits crossed we get a blast or two left by Wednesday.

beckyCarlos · 12/02/2022 10:13

@thislittlebird wooooo 🥳🎊🎉 thats amazing! Well done eggs and sperm!!!+

thislittlebird · 12/02/2022 09:43

@JeanieJ thanks! I was so worried all night. Still could end up with bugger all but it’s a good starting point.

JeanieJ · 12/02/2022 09:21

@thislittlebird 🎉
That's great! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

thislittlebird · 12/02/2022 09:09

Ok so the embryologist called right after 9am. Of our 15 eggs, 13 were suitable for fertilisation and 9 fertilised. That’s the first hurdle done thankfully, won’t find out more until I go in on Wednesday.

thislittlebird · 11/02/2022 18:28

@beckyCarlos I’m looking forward to the glass of wine tomorrow, I’ve had a bottle in the cupboard for a couple of weeks! Dh has gone off out to get some some electrolyte drinks and a few other bits for me. Staving off ohss is the next mission.

beckyCarlos · 11/02/2022 16:41

@gracie2021 so glad it went well

@thislittlebird ooh yes, that cake sounds delicious!

thislittlebird · 11/02/2022 16:34

@beckyCarlos there was a fair bit of cake chat because I’d said I made a lemon drizzle!

That’s exactly it, because if he’d got stage fright the whole thing would be messed up because we’d have missed our admission. Same if the trains were messed up. Luckily it all went ok but it seems like extra unnecessary anxiety to me.

@paintfairy dunno, they’re weird af and kept insisting they prefer partners to do it at home. I can only assume it’s a COVID thing. I asked more than once too.

@Gracie2021 glad to hear it survived in your bra too!!! You’re easing into the lab, and you never know, it might work, who knows!

paintfairy · 11/02/2022 16:19

@Gracie2021 I found it a bit weird. Just getting up and walking out like- oh, it's done. 🤣 IVF was the same though really. Some other bloke technically put it there. 🤔

Gracie2021 · 11/02/2022 16:14

@thislittlebird sounds like it all went well and 15 is around that golden range they aim for isn't it. Fingers crossed. When do you get your update? If it helps reassure at all I carried my sample in my bra for an hour and a half to the clinic today and the embryologist was nerding out over my OHs numbers so it can't do too much harm.

@paintfairy went swimmingly 😂😂 sorry in a puntastic mood. Apparently he had 56m swimmers so you'd hope one of them is up to the challenge of my dodgy eggs but we'll see. Strangest experience. If it works I'll have gotten pregnant while my OH was in another county. Science is very strange. We've done 8 TSIs but it was still intimate so this is my first real taste of the lab....

@magnoliasinbloom I had three sizable follicles on my last Letrozole cycle when previously I'd only ever had one. Some months it just seems to take a mind of its own and kick off. We took the risk and chanced but it came to nothing. Hope you're down to maybe two good ones by Tuesday. Here's hoping.

paintfairy · 11/02/2022 16:05

@thislittlebird why couldn't you do the sample at the clinic? That's ridiculous. Fingers crossed for good fertilisation rates!
@Gracie2021 I hope your iui went OK. Never say never!

beckyCarlos · 11/02/2022 16:04

@thislittlebird oh my god 🤣 that sounds hilariously awful only so much weather and holiday chat you can have! Ive seen those tips about putting the sample in your bra before but really, there just needs to be a room for the guy to go in! Imagine trying to have a wank in that strict time pressure 🤣 I know its nothing compared to the womans part but as the guy, if thats your only bit it'd be so easy for the jitters to get in! X

thislittlebird · 11/02/2022 15:56

@beckyCarlos thank you! It really was. It resulted in a last minute dash to the station because we needed it to be as late as possible before he did it and then it had to be kept warm. Based on advice online I stored it in my bra in a sock until we got to the clinic 😂. They really should just let people do it in the clinic if they want to but whatever, it’s done now.

The weirdest part of today is they called me in, strapped me in to the bed, blankets, cannula, oxygen mask the lot and then the doctor never showed up because he was elsewhere with the last patient so we’re all just in there making terrible small talk for about 15 mins and the anaesthetist is clearly annoyed that he’s vanished because she couldn’t sedate me until he had done the paperwork and arrived. Anyway, when he did show up the sedation worked very bloody fast and the next thing I know I was in bed with a tea and biscuits.

I’ve got my hot water bottle so that’s nice.

beckyCarlos · 11/02/2022 15:44

@thislittlebird 15! 💕 well done you and your follicles! And well done on getting the sample across london, i feel like that would be quite never wracking!

thislittlebird · 11/02/2022 15:24

Thanks @Gracie2021! We’re home now, I’m on the sofa with a blanket and the telly on. Have you had the IUI?

@magnoliasinbloom your dh is right that responding to letrozole is great, fingers crossed for Tuesday.

They got 15 eggs, now I’m just praying some fertilise with that sample we carried across London 🥴.

magnoliasinbloom · 11/02/2022 14:13

@Gracie2021 thanks, feeling pretty flat but I guess there's not much that can be done until waiting until Tuesday. It's fortunate that I'm being monitored at least as I definitely wouldn't have wanted triplets!! Hope that your IUI went well and crossing my fingers this is your month :)

Gracie2021 · 10/02/2022 15:31

@magnoliasinbloom I'm so sorry that absolutely sucks and especially being stuck in limbo for the weekend. That was me last weekend and it was the hardest part. The only positive I could find was that they wouldn't be giving it time if there wasn't a chance and hopefully the extra follicles will slow down over the weekend for you 🤞 hope you're doing ok x

@thislittlebird hope you're feeling ok and ready for tomorrow

@paintfairy I'll be honest my expectations are nil but I'm open to being surprised.

So sorry the first period was rough @dogmam but glad you're not waiting on it still and hope you're able to move forward again with your app on 21st.

Fertility clinic rang again - scan has been pushed out to Tuesday as doctors feel a later scan will give the best indication of whether the cycle needs to be cancelled. I'm not feeling particularly hopefully and feels annoying that I'll have to wait longer to hear the inevitable bad news. My partner is reminding me to focus on the positive which is that I have responded to Letrazole (albeit too much) as given my previous non-responses we were worried about that.

magnoliasinbloom · 10/02/2022 12:11

@Gracie2021 how exciting! Hope the trigger and IUI goes well and that this is your lucky month :) :) Unfortunately my scan this morning didn't go as well - my lining is still too thin but more worryingly I look to have overresponded to the letrazole and have 2-3 other follicles growing quite big in addition to the dominant one I had on Tuesday. The other follicles could stop growing but we've been told to not have unprotected sex in case. Have a follow up scan on Saturday but have been advised there is a risk that the cycle will have to be cancelled due to risk of multiple pregnancies :( So strange as I was taking 5mg letrazole a day this cycle. On previous unmonitored letrazole cycles at both 5mg and 7.5mg I've had non responses so can't understand how I've overresponded potentially this time!

thislittlebird · 09/02/2022 18:29

@Gracie2021 great news that the injections won't be wasted and you can convert to IUI! Fingers crossed for you. Also great to hear you'll be egg banking, this sounds like progress and it must be great to have a plan.

This is all very good news, you must feel better already and the money is being carried over too!

@JeanieJ yeah, the pessaries should make up for any progesterone issues but I have normal periods and seem to ovulate???? and yet my progesterone has been low when tested. I think it's worth knowing so you can plan how long to take progesterone for. My clinic wants me to take them for 8 weeks IF we can get a positive but I'll be pushing back on that because I really think I should be on them for 12.

@dogmam sorry to hear about the period, sounds rough but fingers crossed it's all back on track.

paintfairy · 09/02/2022 17:14

@Gracie2021 excellent news! I think life always seems better with a plan! At least now you can move forwards and get this show on the road! 🥳 IUI is weird- I had 3 rounds and it didn't work. But some people it does work for. So you never know!

dogmam · 09/02/2022 16:44

@Gracie2021 that's amazing! Can't ask for more than that from your clinic can you.. well apart from not making the mistake in the first place but you know what I mean. Plus you have the extra benefit of DNA frag test which you probably wouldn't have got would you if this cycle had went to plan. Sounds like it's all happened for a reason! But as you say, hopfully you won't need IVF anyway and you'll end up with twins from IUI. You never know!!
Yeah I'm fine, thank you, feel like the positive tests, being pregnant and the miscarriage was all just a distant memory now. I do have down days of course but what can you do. I think because I haven't told anyone what happened then life is just going on as normal. Follow up appointment 21st Feb then I guess we will go again with round 2. I've just had my first period since having surgery after Christmas to 'remove the pregnancy', it was awful, so heavy I wasn't expecting it but pleased I had it and hopfully cycles are back to normal now.

Gracie2021 · 09/02/2022 15:38

@magnoliasinbloom you just made me so happy. It always feels so much easier with company.... just got my instructions and I trigger tomorrow and IUI on Friday. Not expecting much tbh as we've had 8 failed TSIs and Ohs motility is good so not sure if we have much extra benefit from the IUI but trying to keep an open mind. Have two 16mm follicles today so maybe we'll be blessed and have twins and no IVF at all. A girl can hope right 😂😂

Thanks a mil @beckyCarlos and likewise here for the rants whenever you need them!!!
