Thanks @Tjsmjs I hope you have a really lucky cycle! I'm not going to second guess it too much, it is what it is. On to the next cycle which will hopefully brighten the January blues at least 🥲

Tjsmjs · 29/11/2021 13:19

Sorry for those who got AF or a negative test. @xxfxx I found similar when I had my first. Period was ultra late- kept testing and nothing. Stopped testing and she came. The following month I tracked ovulation but then stopped tracking as soon as I got my positive OPK. Anyway I was a week late before a realised and I was pregnant with my son. Good luck.

@Goodgoodthings sorry that you didn’t get a positive OPK. I have such a short surge that I’ve missed it before. I’ve ended up testing twice a day now. Hopefully you did ovulate and just missed it on the tests.

I’m CD8 today and starting OPKs as predicted to ovulate in 5 days based on previous cycles.

Goodgoodthings · 29/11/2021 11:55

Happy Monday everyone, hope you didn't have too much trouble with the weather. I'm thinking I must be out this month - I'm on CD26 and still no positive OPK so I'm guessing I'll have a long cycle and not ovulate 🤦‍♀️ going to stop testing every day because it's boring to be getting nowhere, and just try to focus on enjoying Christmas creeping up and see what happens in the new year.

Hope you're all having better luck than me!

xxfxx · 28/11/2021 21:35

Hey @RockingGazelle, AF arrived 10 days late, really weird.

Trying to take a step back really and just chill this cycle. I found when I stopped worrying/ testing was actually when I came on so maybe caused be stress.

girafferafferaffe · 28/11/2021 21:18

You can't use antibiotics as an excuse anymore!

girafferafferaffe · 28/11/2021 21:17

I have a meal/drinks planned with my sil's which would have been awkward if I had to find an excuse not to drink! I am not a drinker at home but do enjoy a drink when out and since I have a 4yo it is basically never that I go out haha. In a way I am glad it's worked out this way.

RockingGazelle · 28/11/2021 21:07

Hi all. We missed FW as DH got man flu and was feeling very sorry for himself. Very annoying as we had agreed to have a really good go this month....oh well, I suppose it means I can drink at Xmas. Hope you're all doing better than I am!

Not sure if @xxfxx has joined the new thread but was wondering how you got on - did AF show or did you get a BFP?

Moonshine160 · 28/11/2021 20:59

@girafferafferaffe fingers crossed for the next month :) and I felt the same - disappointed but I can enjoy all the outings planned over Christmas and have a drink.

girafferafferaffe · 28/11/2021 18:33

Just took a first response test and negative. Didn't expect to happen this month tbh though because I've just come off the pill and it didn't happen until cycle 2 with dd. And the positive is at least I don't have to think of an excuse to not drink at Xmas drinks!

Mim21 · 27/11/2021 10:25

@Tjsmjs it's not cheap but worth a try! I don't have the luxury of lying around for ages after dtd hoping some of them make their way up there like i did before having DS hahah, i'd try and lie down 15-20 mins after if i could but then having that was a bit extra reassurance

Tjsmjs · 26/11/2021 22:19

I wore my socks to bed last night and DH asked me why. He just laughed but it happy to go along with it.

@Mim21 I got the fertility cup to try this month so nice to hear about someone having success with it.

I’m on annual leave as off this evening for 10 days which will hopefully coincide with my fertile window. Going to really try to take care of myself on the Hope my chances increase.

girafferafferaffe · 26/11/2021 20:44

@GreenFlipFlop thanks :) yeah I should probably think that way instead. It may not happen straight away as well I guess!

ExPatHereForAChat · 26/11/2021 19:49

@greenflipflop We are indeed! Nice to have some buddies on this TTC journey :)

GreenFlipFlop · 26/11/2021 19:36

@girafferafferaffe Well done!! Don't feel bad, they'll still get at least 9 months out of you before you go! 😂

girafferafferaffe · 26/11/2021 16:45

They have said at my work they'll be asking for a pay rise for me because I do so much and I just felt really guilty for trying for #2 which I know is probably a bit silly.

GreenFlipFlop · 26/11/2021 16:39

I'm liking this thermal sock idea, I had no idea about this, my feet are always cold!!

@ExPatHereForAChat I think we're cycle day buddies, I'm on day 8 today! Going to start OPK's twice a day from tomorrow!

@Goodgoodthings I can totally relate to that tingly gutted feeling when someone else announces. I thought in May when we started ttc that I would definitely be pregnant by Christmas! 2 of my good friends announced they're both expecting in May and its so hard because I'm so happy for them but a tiny bit jealous! One is having her first and another her second and I feel bad being jealous when I have one already!! I think its just knowing the uphill battle before you can announce too, but then I always think I don't know how hard it was for them to get there either! Hope you're ok, we'll get there too, hope you get your positive OPK soon! xx

Goodgoodthings · 26/11/2021 15:29

CD 23 here and still no positive OPK... feeling so pissed off if I'm honest after being ill last cycle. Had EWCM at the start of the week and now nothing? Flo says I'm due to ovulate tomorrow so maybe I'm just a little late this month, or maybe I'm out this cycle. A colleague just announced she was pregnant on zoom and I felt that horrible tingly gutted feeling that I used to get first time around. I would so love to be pregnant at Christmas.

Still got my thermal socks on just in case 😂

Mim21 · 26/11/2021 13:05

Hahah cosy toes all round! 🤞🏻✨

ExPatHereForAChat · 26/11/2021 12:12

Alright, you ladies have convinced me to keep my slipper socks on at night!

I'm on CD8 so finally get to start SMEP. I feel like this cycle is already dragging...

Moonshine160 · 25/11/2021 21:51

Thanks @Goodgoodthings and @Tjsmjs
I am feeling a little more positive this evening. Spoken to DH and we’re still going to DTD lots over my fertile days but after that I’m going to try and keep myself busy with as little symptom spotting as possible. My next period will be due around 21st December so I’ll only test if I’m late.

Congrats @Mim21 ! I will keep my feet warm and have a look at the conception cup. Hadn’t actually heard of one of those.

Mim21 · 25/11/2021 21:41

I'm fine at the moment thanks still don't believe it tbh, not feeling many symptoms other than maybe a bit of early waking but its still super early, i'm not even 5 wks yet. Yeah it's nice to have warm feet can't hurt!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Goodgoodthings · 25/11/2021 21:12

@Mim21 that's so interesting to hear, thanks! Will be keeping my thermal socks on in that case 😬 how are you feeling?

Mim21 · 25/11/2021 20:48

I'm still lurking in the background here, just wanted to come and say @Goodgoodthings i heard that keeping your feet warm thing before my last cycle when I got my BFP, so i was keeping my cosy socks on and my feet on a hot water bottle while i was sat at my desk as i sit in a pretty cold bit of the house over the implatation kinda period, so who knows! I also used that fertilily conception cup for the first time last month, and took omega 3 (read it might help lengthen luteal phase and aid implantation) and also took a vitamin d spray alongside my ttc vitamins, just incase anyone wants to give anything else a try, you never know xx

girafferafferaffe · 25/11/2021 20:12

I think maybe I need to eat more? I've been dieting for so long now that maybe I need to give it a rest. I won't stop exercising though as I absolutely love it and will want to carry on throughout pregnancy if I can. I was extremely unhealthy the last time I was pregnant and was really really fat after having my dd. So this time I want to be stronger and not let myself go like I did before.

Tjsmjs · 25/11/2021 13:46

@Moonshine160 we are cycle day buddies. I am sorry you are feeling down. Periods are just rubbish- you are not pregnant and they can make you feel rubbish overall. As I have short cycles and would be due on around the 16th I am going track and limit myself to one alcoholic drink at the two Xmas parties I have before then. Then if not successful (which is likely) I’ll just relax and enjoy myself and not track for the cycle that covers Xmas day. If I was in your situation with a bday etc I wouldn’t track and just dtd every 2-3 days as you said. I don’t think there is a right or wrong approach but I would do whatever you feel happiest doing but also what will give you a chance to enjoy the time.

@Goodgoodthings I hope you get your positive OPK soon. I hear you on the toddler and caffeine.

@winter138 Hi. That sounds busy- hopefully you will get your positive this cycle.
