@Skylark1990 oh that's lovely to hear! I'm on a good Facebook page for women TTC and still breastfeeding but I find people don't reply as often. Yes it's not supposed to affect things too much, apparently some women it can cause difficulties but we should be fine. We're not ready to wean yet! I've been kind of day weaning, we tried at night which was great for a week but she's not having it now so we tried in the day time and she's mostly fine with it! I've only been doing it for about a week, no idea if it will make any difference but it's nice to reduce the feeds a bit.

How many cycles have you been trying? We're in our 5th which is about how long it took to conceive our daughter, I find myself getting down about it and wondering if it's going to happen which is silly I know .. x

Skylark1990 · 08/02/2022 11:36

@xxfxx I think I can see a faint line! What day in your cycle are you (even if you don't know dpo)?

Skylark1990 · 08/02/2022 11:35

Hey everyone - I'm new to this thread but wondering if I can join?

We are TTC no.2 at the moment (I'm CD 24/ 9DPO) so considering doing a test tomorrow... Confused... I had a chemical pregnancy last month Sad which was very sad but I am glad the mc happened early on at least. I had a very straight forward pregnancy with dd1 and we were very lucky and fell pregnant quickly with her, so it was quite a shock.

@lovesT

I am still breastfeeding DD1 too! She is 17 months. We have recently night weaned (although she does still have milk at night sometimes) which helps but yes she goes through phases of wanting more milk too - everything I've read says it shouldn't be a problem for getting pregnant :)

lovesT · 07/02/2022 21:55

Ah okay, well hopefully you get a clear answer in the morning! 🤞

xxfxx · 07/02/2022 21:35

I have no idea I don’t really chart my ovulation. Just used my flo app like usual. My cycle has gone from 32 to 41 days since having the booster so I would be on cycle day 3 today.

lovesT · 07/02/2022 21:31

@xxfxx oooh I can't zoom in but I'm sure I can see a line ... How many dpo? X

xxfxx · 07/02/2022 21:06

Don’t want to get too excited but does anyone else see a faint line? This is the third once I’ve done. Bought a cb to do with fmu!

Oh that's a lovely gap 😊 I first thought we would have around a 2 year age gap but we started trying too late and time has just gone so fast and now of were lucky it will be a bit less than 3 😞. I'm sure it will still be lovely but not what I had imagined. These past two years have flown by.

That's great thank you, sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy 😞. I'm really hoping it will work well for us, my heart sinks when I think about it not working again 😕 but trying to to get anxious as I know that's not good.

I'm still breastfeeding too, periods have been regular for quite a while now and definitely have signs that I'm ovulating, I'm just hoping I'm not one of the women who struggle due to Breastfeeding. Mostly at night now and once a day at the moment ...

GreenFlipFlop · 03/02/2022 14:31

@lovesT Can totally relate, I was getting worried about our age gap..if all goes well it should be 2 years and 3 months which actually I hope will work out well! I always imagined it would be just under 2 years but it took a lot longer than I thought to get pregnant the second time! DS1 is just about to turn 21 months :)

The OPK's definitely made a difference! I used the Ebay One Step for 3 months and caught the 1st month but it ended up as a chemical pregnancy, then my cycle was really delayed the following month due to the chemical so I totally messed up my OPK's and stopped testing just before I think I ovulated and missed it, and the 3rd time worked! I used the Premom app to analyse them cos I was always rubbish at working out if they're positive or not, but when you do get a positive, they're really obvious cos the line is really dark! DTD every other day might work too..it just depends how much energy you have with a little one haha!

lovesT · 03/02/2022 14:19

@GreenFlipFlop congratulations! Do you think doing the OPKs made a difference even if you dtd every other day? I hope everything goes well for your pregnancy ❤️

I'm feeling better about my brother and sister in law, more excited for them but still pretty sad when I realise I'm still not pregnant and the age gap is growing. How old is your first?

GreenFlipFlop · 03/02/2022 12:18

@LovesT That's really hard about your brother and sister in law. Hope you're doing ok, I hope it happens soon for you! OPK's worked for me, I was doing them twice a day at lunchtimes and in the evenings!

Currently 11 weeks today and my 12 week scan is on the 15th. Got crazy anxiety surrounding it, just hope everything's ok!

lovesT · 03/02/2022 11:26

Oh I've also decided to eliminate all caffeine and sugar from things like biscuits this month. Trying to eat more healthily ... Not sure if that will help at all?!

lovesT · 03/02/2022 11:25

Is anyone else about to start again? We will probably start trying again in the next couple of days. This month will be the first time I use ovulation sticks but probably we'll also just keep going every other day again. I think I just want to be sure that my ovulation signs mean that I'm ovulating ...

I hope everyone else is doing well and maybe we'll see some more positives this month?

lovesT · 30/01/2022 15:19

My brother and sister in law just told us they're pregnant with their second too so that's made me feel a bit rubbish as they hardly tried and we've been really trying. Our daughters are 4 months apart so really hoping our second would be close too but don't know how much longer it will take and I just feel sad 😥

Of course I'm happy for them too but I'm finding it difficult

lovesT · 30/01/2022 12:38

I've had cramps on and off for a few days, then today light period like cramps and now a bit of bleeding 😥 it's a bit earlier than expected, I was expecting at least tomorrow or next day but that's me out this month and onto the 5th cycle 😞

Chanel05 · 30/01/2022 08:38

@ExPatHereForAChat sorry to hear that :(.

I'm on cycle day 2 of cycle 5 now. I ovulated on cd11 last cycle (had no clue and hadn't dtd either by that point) so only had a 25 day cycle. So annoying. Going to try temping this month because my cycles seem to be anywhere between 25-31 days.

@ExPatHereForAChat I am so sorry the hear that. Look after yourself.

lovesT · 22/01/2022 13:50

@expathereforachat so sorry to hear that. ♥️ I have a friend on Facebook who has 2 girls and had a miscarriage last year but is now pregnant with their 3rd and all seems okay. I hope it won't be too long for you and is a better outcome next time X

I'm on day 19 of my cycle and we've been really good this month with dtd every other day/ everyday for a few days. I'm not tracking or anything as I think it would be overwhelming and I didn't with my 1st. I'm still breastfeeding my daughter who is 2 next month and I think she has been teething so has wanted lots more milk, I hope that doesn't affect our chances. I don't know if my cycle is 28,31 or 32 days long as it has varied, I'm hoping my luteal phase is long enough as I keep hearing about that!

When TTC my daughter I was on Mumsnet thread and found it really helpful to have other ladies going through the same thing! I'm part of a group on Facebook called TTC when pregnant/ breastfeeding and it's okay for some things but you don't always get replies, so it's great to have this thread 😊

Is anyone else still breastfeeding and TTC? Sorry for long post! 😄 Congratulations to those with a bfp, I'd be so happy if I got mine in the next couple of weeks x

MrsR87 · 22/01/2022 11:42

Hi all. I’ve been so busy at work I haven’t had much time to post so here’s a little update from me!

Before going to bed on NYE I just had a little feeling so I decided to do a test. I have the tests that claim to be accurate four days before your missed period and I was due to start the next day. Low and behold it came back negative! I was a bit disappointed as I just had that feeling. The next day came and no period! Decided to wait until the end of the week and do another test but only got as far as Wednesday! The test went positive straight away with a beautiful dark line so it seems that I am 7 weeks pregnant tomorrow! As with my first it was during our third month of trying to conceive which seems like a lovely coincidence! 😍

Moonshine160 · 22/01/2022 09:06

@ExPatHereForAChat so sorry to hear that :( how heartbreaking Flowers take care of yourself xx

GreenFlipFlop · 22/01/2022 07:02

@expathereforachat I'm so sorry 😔 That's heartbreaking. Sending lots of hugs and hoping the medical procedure is ok xx

ExPatHereForAChat · 22/01/2022 00:29

Thank you @AmberRH1993 that's so kind. It was a big shock as my first pregnancy was so straightforward. I've had a little time to process it so am feeling better than I had been. Will be jumping straight back in to TTC after everything returns to normal and hoping it doesn't take too long this time.

AmberRH1993 · 22/01/2022 00:23

@ExPatHereForAChat

Congratulations on all the recent BFPs!

Sadly, we have miscarried this baby :( So utterly heartbreaking. It is a missed miscarriage, picked up on an early scan so will be having medical management in the next few days to help it pass.

I am so sorry @expathereforachat - you must be devastated 😔 sending hugs your way ❤️
