Here are my OPKs from this cycle @lovesT - never got one as dark as @GreenFlipFlop but the one on day 14 - I put an asterisk next to it - was as dark as control line so I think that counts! They've all faded a bit now of course.

@lovesT Oo yeah that one at the top definitely looks slightly darker than the other 2! They may start getting gradually darker now up until your peak!

lovesT · 08/02/2022 17:17

@GreenFlipFlop thank you! I feel like mine are very faint ... And this photo is of a few from different days but obviously not within the 10 minutes. I think one of them is slightly darker though??

Here are my OPK's the month I got my BFP if this helps? They're One Step ones too but from eBay! Very light and then started to get dark, I always got my peak in the evenings! I used to test around 2pm and 8/9pm!

@lovesT I was going to post a picture of mine to show you but don’t seem to have the option….. I generally find that they’re quite light, go medium for a day and then very positive/peak the next morning. But everyone is different as others have said.

lovesT · 08/02/2022 16:19

@Skylark1990 that would be helpful thank you 😊. I tried to post a picture of mine but it doesn't seem to work ... So hoping for BFPs this month! 🥰

Skylark1990 · 08/02/2022 15:39

Thank you @HollyT222 - it was very sad but feeling ok now :) just hoping it doesn't happen again.

Skylark1990 · 08/02/2022 15:37

@lovesT Yes I think it's very common for the tests to be super faint until basically a couple days before the peak, then they start to be a bit darker, then you may get just one day/one test where it peaks, or you may have a couple days - everyone is different! And then people ovulate 12-48 hours on average after the peak - so good to keep DTD for a few days after haha. I find it so interesting how everyones bodies are similar but different! And yes feel you on being tired! Last cycle we DTD every day around the peak but it was too much for both of us haha. This month we actually only DTD twice as I got sick in my fertile week which wasn't ideal... managed to DTD on the day I got my positive OPK though so am hopeful. I'll try to take a pic of my OPKs from this cycle and post, if helpful.

@HollyT222

I'm often woken by my LO too - I think as long as you've had 2-3 hours uninterrupted sleep before you take your temp you can kind of rely on it... maybe not for preventing a pregnancy, but for getting an idea on when / whether you ovulated, it has seemed to work for me even though my DD definitely doesn't sleep through even at the best of times Grin it does mean I sometimes measure at like 3am though. Equally, fully understand not wanting to temp - it does add another layer of faff! CM and OPKs are enough to be getting on with lol

HollyT222 · 08/02/2022 15:20

Also @Skylark1990 very sorry for your loss last month. Must be so hard. Hope you get your rainbow BFP this month 🤞🏻

HollyT222 · 08/02/2022 15:19

@Skylark1990 yes we do sound to be very similar! I did temp last cycle but tbh it stressed me our a bit and my son was teething so was up a lot and it wasn’t very consistent so I decided just to stick to OPKs and EWCM this cycle… it is definitely nice to know you’ve ovulated though.

@lovesT I test on second morning urine as I also heard not to use FMU. I’d do about 9am and then 2/3pm. And then as they got a bit darker I’d do another 1 (or 2!). I’ve also been trying to go more by EWCM this month which I find ramps up before the positive OPKs.

lovesT · 08/02/2022 15:09

Thank you @Skylark1990 and @GreenFlipFlop 😊 I'm doing one after lunch and one late in the day closer to evening. I just did one and I still feel like the line is really faint? I'm not sure of its slightly thicker than the other ones I've taken but is this quite normal? I'm on cycle day 10 today. I've not tested with FMU as it says not to but do you think I should? It's so confusing!! We dtd last night anyway as I thought my cm was changing so thought why not but we'll relax a bit until the line gets darker I think. We had been dtd every other day but with looking after a toddler in the day that's a bit exhausting 😅 so I was hoping theses tests would help and means we don't have to do every other day the whole month.

@Skylark1990 yes the cheepies from Amazon, One Step?

The FB group is quite good for bits of advice. Might see you there unknowingly haha 😄

I'm not working at the moment other than a baby class once a week. I want to stay with my daughter as long as I'm able to x

Skylark1990 · 08/02/2022 14:55

@HollyT222 we sound to be in a similar boat :) I'm also 33 and I have a 17mo - we conceived her first try too (so, so lucky I know). We are now also on cycle 3 of TTC - had an early mc last cycle which was very sad, and the first cycle we tried I don't think I got my ovulation right. I'm temping now as well which is reassuring as you know for sure you ovulated - have you tried that?

I know it's definitely still early days and I'm a lot less rested (and there is less time to DTD) with a toddler running around.... fingers crossed for this month for both of us!! x

@GreenFlipFlop I also used PreMom for one cycle but got annoyed by it haha. I really like fertility friend though, if you're also temping :)

HollyT222 · 08/02/2022 14:55

Also the last few months my cycle went from a regular 28 days 40 days to 36 to what looks like 32 this month. So that probably hasn’t helped things!

Hope you all get your positives soon

HollyT222 · 08/02/2022 14:49

Thank you!

I’m a bit obsessed with OPKs… use them far too much! I’ve just had 3 days of positives with 24 hours or peaks though which seems to be what I get every month now. When I conceived my 15 month old it was just one peak, up and down! I was hoping for a 2 year age gap which is still doable. We were lucky we conceived my son the first month trying so even though this is only month 3 it’s already got me worrying. I know that’s silly though and I know so many people have long struggles so I don’t mean that to sound insensitive at all. I’ve just turned 33.

Im keeping my feet warm and eating pineapple core this TWW 🤣

GreenFlipFlop · 08/02/2022 14:12

@lovesT Yes, exactly what @Skylark1990 said about OPK's! I was rubbish at trying to work out if they were positive, so seeing the line get darker over a week or so before really helped me, along with the Premom app OPK analyser! Then DTD as it starts getting darker until you hit peak!

Welcome @HollyT222! Smile

Skylark1990 · 08/02/2022 14:06

@lovesT I'm 33, and our daughter is 17months so if I get pregnant soon she'll be just over 2 when new baby comes!

I hope it happens for us both soon! I think I found that FB page you mentioned so have asked to join :) Are you working atm (aside from looking after your daughter ofc!)?

As @GreenFlipFlop it can def be useful to do the OPKs twice a day as the line starts to get a bit darker. It should be qite faint to start with then over a few days will get darker and darker... once it is visible but not yet as dark as control linen, it's a good time to start testing twice daily. They say not to use FMU for them but I've had my peak with FMU twice, and only time I got an afternoon peak was when I got pregnant with DD1. With breastfeeding I find I drink so much water in the day so I think my urine is diluted in the afternoon! Good luck with them... did you get the cheapies from Amazon?

@HollyT222
Hello! Welcome... I'm nearing the end of the TWW at 9DPO but it still feels like ages so feel your pain x

lovesT · 08/02/2022 13:48

@GreenFlipFlop yes I'll do that 😊 as I'm new to them I'm trying to work out what's normal for a very faint line so that I'll know when it gets darker. I hope I ovulate at a good time this month and have a long luteal phase, last month my cycle was 26 days which is the shortest I've had for a long time! Completely random so I hope it's more normal this month. It was a stressful week so maybe that's why.

Yes so good to have support on here x

lovesT · 08/02/2022 13:42

@Skylark1990 sorry about your mc 😟😟.

A couple of months ago I started to get sore boobs again after ovulation just like I did before I was pregnant the first time (it seemed to happen once I started taking Pregnacare Conception so not sure if that's helped anything!). When my daughter would feed it's so sensitive haha and I had sore boobs for 3 months when pregnant with her so I'm assuming it will be the same! I'd love to tandem feed if we make it that long.

I'm 27 at the end of this week 😊 how about you if you're happy to say? My daughter is 2 next week!

Ooh keep us updated if you test, I hope it happens for us soon x

GreenFlipFlop · 08/02/2022 13:37

@lovesT these threads help so much, it's nice to know there are other people going through the same! ❤️
Maybe try testing twice a day in the lead up with the OPK's now so you can catch the surge if it's a bit earlier than expected!

HollyT222 · 08/02/2022 13:37

Hi everyone!

I’m new to mumsnet. Currently in month 3 of TTC a sibling for my little boy! 1 DPO so a long 2 week wait ahead….

Skylark1990 · 08/02/2022 13:28

@xxfxx congratulations!!! :) :) :)

@lovesT ahh nice, yes we aren't ready to wean either. I'm toying with idea of tandem nursing if I get pregnant soon, as had wanted to bf DD1 till she was around 2 at least :). Shall see how I feel while pregnant though! Last month when I was pregnant for about a week before the mc, I had mega sensitive nipples so really wanted to cut back on the feeds a bit so I am glad that DD1 is seeming ok with slightly less these days :)

And it will definitely happen for you! It can take time can't it. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? It's our third cycle TTC this time round now and I'm day 24 now so not long to go till I can test.... might do one tomorrow/Thurs but may wait till AF due, not sure.... xx

lovesT · 08/02/2022 13:24

Sorry due to come on that is x

lovesT · 08/02/2022 13:21

@GreenFlipFlop thank you ❤️ I need threads like this as I'm an over thinker and can't talk to anyone else about it other than my husband! I'm not quite in my fertile week but hopefully, if I'm right, it should be in the next week or so. I'm hoping the OPKs give me a better idea of when I'm ovulating (and I hope I actually am, I get all the signs so I'm sure I must be!). I'm next due at the beginning of March I think x

GreenFlipFlop · 08/02/2022 12:51

@lovesT It will definitely happen for you! I totally get how the worry takes over though..wishing you all the baby dust this month!! Have you had your fertile week yet do you know? xx

GreenFlipFlop · 08/02/2022 12:48

@xxfxx Ahh congratulations!! Great news!
What cycle was this for you? xx
