Entering into 8th cycle..

Entering into 8th cycle…ttc number 2.

Feeling defeated and deflated even though I know odds are still on our side really..
I already have a DD who is 3 years 9 months so very much feel time is of the essence. Just desperate for it to happen now.

Feel like either people seem to fall super fast or seem like 12 months plus and don’t find many “in the middle” types.

Ive fallen pregnant 1st cycle before. And then DD took 7 cycles. So hence why this failed 7th cycle seems like a miserable milestone!

Anyone welcome to keep me company. Sucks 😫

@Indianna2006 yeah like a varicose vein. He can see veins but tbh neither of us knew if that was normal or not. He has some sensitivity too - and again naively just thought maybe it was after lots of DTD in fertile window etc.

We could conceive in the mean time, it would just be a lot more difficult to (waiting for him to get home for full debrief). I imagine his DNA fragmentation will be high. Annoyingly thought he could do the test now but they had no space so he has to book it in. Then the scan. Then the op. No idea on timeline. Really hope it isn't a huge wait but we shall see!

It's being done privately. We may be able to do the op through insurance but none of the dna frag element of it which in itself is about £1k 😵‍💫

Indianna2006 · 03/03/2022 16:44

Will he have to have surgery privately or on nhs? Cos imagine that’s such a cost!

Indianna2006 · 03/03/2022 16:43

@OK92 omg no way? Maybe he didn’t have it when you conceived DD? Can they just appear over time. It’s like a varicous vein right on the testicle? Had he never noticed? Or is it something only a specialist could see. I’d imagine it would be sensitive ?! Cos usually varicose veins are.

Is there still a chance you could fall in the mean time? Just likely motility may go up for you once they is fixed.

@FlyOnTheWall89 @Indianna2006
CD15 today and had planned to start DTD from tonight. However, DH saw Dr Ramsey today who confirmed he has a monster varicocele 😭. Definitely on the left and potentially one on the right too. So he now is off to do DNA frag test and needs a scan asap to figure out dimensions. Dr Ramsey said it will be heating up and damaging sperm but apparently was very confident that we will be able to conceive naturally once it's been operated on. We either got VERY lucky conceiving DD first try last time or it's got progressively worse over 3+ years.

Feeling mixed emotions. Happy we now have a route forward, but sad that it's now likely we wouldn't get a BFP until much later this year if we are lucky. As it takes 3 months from whenever the op is for sperm to refresh, then obviously how ever many months trying after that.

I will still give it a go this month from tomorrow (and every month 😂) but not expecting anything until it's all sorted out.

Indianna2006 · 02/03/2022 16:48

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes all went fine. I get results on next appointment. So I go again 2 weeks time.
We shall see if anything miraculous happens in that time but I highly doubt it 😂😫😫

@Indianna2006 yes I'm CD13 and usually ovulate 14/15. I won't bother with OPKs as temping using the AVA is working pretty well now. Trying to stick to the every other day. How were your bloods today? X

Indianna2006 · 02/03/2022 09:15

@FlyOnTheWall89 are you in fertile week now?

OP posts:
Indianna2006 · 02/03/2022 09:14

@OK92 tbh I’ve almost forgotten I’m in the 2ww. Off for my bloods at the clinic today and will book in my test and hycosy. And almost focussing on them. I don’t expect to be pregnant this cycle tbh somehow. Why would it work now when it hasn’t any other month 🤦🏻‍♀️

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes I think as long as it’s far up as you can get that’s best you can do.

I found I needed to good two fingers on it to flip it to be like the cup shape. But yes usually it is quite hard to get out but then it probs means it is in right place!
Think if you push and pull the stem and can almost squish the cup and pull it.

Haha the stuff we do! I tend to find as you push it in it pushes the sperm up with it. You will know once you’ve used once properly as the sperm will be inside the cup when you take it out!

@FlyOnTheWall89 good to know yours sticks out a bit too! Hopefully it gets easier with more use. TMI but are you able to get up etc without leakage when using it? I'm due to ovulate on Monday so plan to start DTD with it from tomorrow. Really hope it helps the slow swimmers!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 02/03/2022 06:36

@OK92 hi! I think it's going okay, I've used it 3 times now. I definitely can't get it in any further and when I've popped it the right way round the tail does stick out a bit. I think you should of need to pull plus use your muscles to push it out. God knows if it's in the right place though. It has these indents that you can feel when you've popped it open - I think I can feel those so hopefully I'm doing it right! It's not my sexiest post sex move for sure hahaha 😂

OK92 · 01/03/2022 21:45

@Indianna2006 how is the TWW going?

@FlyOnTheWall89 any more luck with the ferti Lily?

I tried it this evening (just by myself to figure it out) and got into a bit of a flap 😂 I found it hard to pop out into the cup shape once I'd pushed it up, hard to push it far enough that the tail wasn't a bit out and then REALLY hard to get out! I ended up having to sit on the toilet and like pinch it out. God knows how it's going to work in practice when I need to keep sperm up there!

FlyOnTheWall89 · 27/02/2022 18:30

@Indianna2006 detailed explanation, thank you! Haha. I'm CD9 @OK92 so prepping early 😂. X

OK92 · 27/02/2022 17:23

@FlyOnTheWall89 @Indianna2006 mine doesn't arrive until Tues I think so will have to get up to speed pretty quick as fertile window starts later this week. Need to watch the vids too. CD11 today. Time going sooo slow. I will most definitely be back to opks and temping this month as clearly 'relaxing' and not tracking last month did bugger all 😂

Indianna2006 · 27/02/2022 16:42

@FlyOnTheWall89 with your own fingers you can only get it so far.
I found it worked if once it was in. You like scoot round and put your legs up a wall or up the headboard etc and it seems to suction like further up in the right place when you tilt you pelvis.

I think everyone is diff so it can stick out a little. But shouldn’t be loads. Otherwise prob not in far enough.

When mines in the right place now the ball on the end is pretty much in line with my vajay entrance 😂😂

@OK92 @Indianna2006 how are you doing guys?! So I've got the Ferti lily. How do you know when it's up far enough 😂. I can't really get it much further I don't think but the tail bit still sticks out a bit. Any tips appreciated!! Xx

Indianna2006 · 25/02/2022 23:35

@OK92 yeh I wouldn’t worry too much about max time. I can’t see an issue it being in longer. And others have slept with it in I’d seen.

I can imagine it can be quite tricky for ppl to get in for ppl ttc number 1. But I don’t find it tricky but I’ve given birth vaginally so imagine that changes things a little 😂

Only tip I do have is they say push it up with one finger and hold one finger and pop it so flips back from inside out. I find and have noticed others mentioned it just slides around which it does. Especially with semen in your vagina 😂😂 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I have to use two fingers either side of the cup to support it before I pull it to pop it.

Haha Jesus way too much detail but you will totally get what I mean when you try it.

Gotta laugh cos otherwise we would just cry 😂😂

OK92 · 25/02/2022 14:01

@Indianna2006 ok thanks! Hopefully I can get some practice in before fertile window starts end of next week. I wonder why they say max an hour. Agree it seems like an effort to sit for an hour after DTD without being able to go to sleep 😂

I've had a bit of light bleeding today (CD9) I assume because of the hycosy, must have irritated cervix.

Indianna2006 · 25/02/2022 07:58

@FlyOnTheWall89 yes deffo worth just making a few changes each type. I feel it helps keep you going. And giving as much sperm chance to get into the fertile CM can only be a good thing!

@OK92 if this is my cycle I’ll eat my hat 😂 but who knows hey! It says to leave it in minimum 20 minutes and maximum and hour.
So I usually do a hour. Although most of tbh time we dtd once we’ve got in bed and DH goes to bed quite late. So then actually I don’t take it out and sleep in it. You’re meant to take it out after an hour but I’m not staying awake for that. And it’s always fine in over night. It’s like a menstrual cup but sits higher so that stays in overnight so figured didn’t see why it couldn’t stay in 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

But presume point is if during day or early evening and you will be getting up and about. Means it deff doesn’t all fall back out and sperm stays up there nice and high when you stand up etc.

@Indianna2006 fingers crossed this is your cycle! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I've also ordered one last night, in time for fertile week starting next week. How long did you leave it in each time btw?

FlyOnTheWall89 · 25/02/2022 05:51

Fingers crossed @Indianna2006 ! I've just bought one too. Trying to make small chances a few % more! I'm entering FW now x

Indianna2006 · 24/02/2022 18:50

@OK92 well that’s my fertile period done. Tww begins… 😫 First cycle using the fertilily properly…

I used it 3 times. CD10 CD12 and CD13. Ovulated late CD13 and early hours of CD14 as I had the worst right sided cramp I’ve had in a loooong time!
And when I went to take it out each time. It was very tricky to get back out as it was so high and in the right place. Almost like suctioned 😂 All the other months it popped out really easy hence I’m certain now this time I used it right.

Let’s see if this has any effect! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤞🏼

So if you do buy it and use it if it’s hard to get out. It’s probably being used correctly 😂

Indianna2006 · 23/02/2022 18:37

@OK92 yes often times it seems unachievable to me almost now.

Oh that’s good you can ttc. Well my
OPK was almost positive this morning. Haven’t been home to check abs in this evening but imagine I may get a positive later. So prob due to ovulate later this evening or tomorrow. So v soon.

Good news you can ttc this cycle 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

@Indianna2006 that's good news about your tests and hycosy. Let's hope they bring us some BFP magic! Have you ovulated now? Or not quite?

Yep I'm CD7 today so in time for next fertile window, the gynae said I can definitely TTC this month. He prescribed a course of antibiotics (apparently as a precaution in unlikely event the dye caused an infection) but said it's fine as they're only 5 days and will be done before my fertile window starts anyway.

I know what you mean. It's a big lottery. I literally look at pregnant people and think you are SO lucky. It feels like the unachievable at the moment.

Indianna2006 · 23/02/2022 17:40

@OK92 was your hycosy in time for this fertile window so you can boost this cycle? Some places seem to mention avoid ttc but I think others do. And prob worth going for it.

I reckon your motility can improve with supplements but by how much who knows. So strange how conception works isn’t it really. Ppl with normal results get no BFP. And some ppl with abnormal can eventually get there BFP. It’s all such an unknown even when stuff checks out clear. Nothing guarantees those 2 pink lines hey.

I think keep going with hope and any luck you could fall within a year still even with slightly lower motility.

I’ve noticed last few cycles I’ve been much spottier around my period and ovulation. Like I used to be when I was younger and conceived. Hoping this is a good sign. As I’ve spent last 9 months not having any bad skin at all or spots. So many my hormones are higher and better. Wishful thinking 😂

@FlyOnTheWall89 I'm a little behind - onto cycle 8 now. But think it's due to DH motility issues...which I'm praying can be resolved naturally either through supplements / lifestyle changes or potential varicocele removal which we'll find out when we see Dr Ramsey. If not then it'll be ICSI probably end of this year which we will need to self-fund 😩
