Entering into 8th cycle..

Entering into 8th cycle…ttc number 2.

Feeling defeated and deflated even though I know odds are still on our side really..
I already have a DD who is 3 years 9 months so very much feel time is of the essence. Just desperate for it to happen now.

Feel like either people seem to fall super fast or seem like 12 months plus and don’t find many “in the middle” types.

Ive fallen pregnant 1st cycle before. And then DD took 7 cycles. So hence why this failed 7th cycle seems like a miserable milestone!

Anyone welcome to keep me company. Sucks 😫

@FlyOnTheWall89 I always use the cheap ones! I use CB with the smiley faces for 3 cycles but it made no difference for me and find the cheap ones just as effective for me.

There is always some level of LH in your system so there will always be a line on the strips. Sometimes fainter than others.
It’s only relevant if the line is as strong as it bolder than the control line. A line as strong as means it’s likely you caught it on the rise or going back down.

A bold stronger than the control line means you caught your LH at its peak.

When are you testing? I test in morning but think most ppls urine picks up the peak afternoon. I find that for me.

@Indianna2006 I got a negative OPK - I’m using the cheap ones this time rather than CB ones. If there is a light to medium line, does that mean it’s probably rising, or will there be a line no matter what? I’m cycle day 12 I think so probs a few days off but my cycles seem to fluctuate between 28-13 days. We haven’t stuck to any schedule whoops - lots of DTD - hopefully there is a strong healthy swimmer in there.

@OK92 how do you find reflexology? I have heard so many good things!

Indianna2006 · 02/01/2022 17:29

@OK92 inundated with newborns is never helpful. makes it super hard. I struggle with that. But try tell myself in my head it isn’t about them and there newborn. As I don’t want there’s. I want mine. Doesn’t always work though but I try 🤷🏻‍♀️🙄😂

I’m in C13 and had positive OPK early afternoon. So expecting to ovulate this evening or tomorrow. Am tempting this month so can confirm 100% once it has happened.

We’ve stuck with the plan. So we DTD CD6/7. And then CD11. And then this morning of CD13.
If I get ovulation pains tonight I might fit in another tomo. If not I’ll leave it the 2 day gap and dtd CD15 again.

🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ See if this make any difference. How is everyone else doing? All due for ovulation soon? xx

@Teachermummy83 I know - not sure we will be able to do SMEP fully but going to give it our best shot. Having a down day today. A good friend recently had her number 2 (which took her just 2 months of trying) so I am being inundated with newborn pics which is lovely but difficult. Then seem to be seeing pregnant people with toddlers everywhere I look. Wondering why it seems so easy for everyone else. Reflexology later today so maybe that'll perk me up a bit!

Kiaa · 29/12/2021 23:34

@Indianna2006
I'm going good just completely exhausted & bad nausea atm now waiting for 1st ultrasound mid January

Sounds like a good plan this month fingers are crossed for you all 🥰

Teachermummy83 · 29/12/2021 22:49

@OK92 thank you.
Good tip, just looked up SMEP. Would love to give that a go, but that's a lot of DTD..... I'm struggling with just the fertile week 😂 if I can find someone to take a toddler for a fortnight I'll make this my priority 👌🏼

Teachermummy83 · 29/12/2021 22:34

@Indianna2006, thanks for the welcome. Sounds like we've similar situations, frustrations, fed-up-ness and all that goes with the TTC.... My DD is 2 and a half. Would prefer a small age gap too, so keep thinking I've 'lost' that year of potentially close siblings. Just need to keep trying, it's just finding that balance between timing for maximum effect, and avoiding every month becoming tense, pressurised and stressful which will definitely blow the job 😖 If mother nature would just do her bit, preferably sharpish, it'd be appreciated 😂

Indianna2006 · 29/12/2021 20:55

@Teachermummy83 of course you can join 🥰
No you are not alone in it driving you mad. It’s also forcing me insane and I flirt between so emotional unstable about it. To them right now okay. This is fine. I’ve got this. It really is very draining.
Sorry to hear you had a long go at it the first time too. That sucks. But fingers crossed with any luck you may get across the finish line a bit sooner this time.
Deffo vent all you like here. The oh it just happened people never quite understand..and I find in other chats people arrive and leave with there BFP so quickly and new people arrive and also leave. And you’re still there like err hello?! How is this logical. Life is so unfair sometimes.
How old is your 1st DS or DD?

Mine is not far off turning 4 so preferably if it can get a move on that would be grand 😂🧐

@OK92 oooh he’s life a bit of fertile week. I heard SMEP works for loads of people. I’ve tried that for 8 months and nothing so I’m now doing the opposite 😂😂 bloody stuff we do. I’m sure it’s just pure luck you know as well. Like all this faff we do actually makes not much of a bloody difference. Still on my EPO before ovulation though as did think it helped last month.

We’ve had one BFP here on cycle 9. So we get more this month I reckon. One person. Someone. Anyone 🤣

❤️❤️

@Teachermummy83 welcome! I'm now on cycle 6 TTC no.2 and totally understand how you're feeling. It's such an unknown and the growing age gap makes me sad which I know it shouldn't. This is the place to rant. I am trying SMEP this month and if that fails, might try not tracking anything anymore and seeing what happens. All those stories about 'stopping trying' and people conceiving, though it may just add to my stress 🤷🏻‍♀️

OK92 · 29/12/2021 20:22

Hi ladies!

CD13 for me now so I'm gearing up to fertile week now. We are going to try SMEP this month so I've now started DTD every other day, until I get a positive OPK when I will do it daily, I expect around CD19. Will see if our stamina allows for it though 😂

Teachermummy83 · 29/12/2021 19:26

Can I join for some moral support ladies?
TTC number 2. Number 1 took 18months, probably about 14 cycles (due to DH having a circumcision - awful timing!) and also a suspected CP thrown in.
Stopped breastfeeding and came off the mini-pill a year ago but have been properly trying with tracking, testing and vitamins for 8 or 9 cycles and getting fed up, we're both feeling so pressurised every fertile week. I know it'll probably be a long road again, but it feels so much harder trying to fit it in around a toddler who doesn't need much sleep 😒 Only managed once this cycle, so pretty sure that's it stuffed again. Also, age is against us too (Im 38 and hes 47).
And to top it off, everyone we know is having babies, and we're getting the 'she needs a baby brother or sister to keep her company' chat constantly. Makes me want to scream. If it were that bloody easy, we'd have had one by now!
Sorry for a self-pitying rant. Please tell me I'm not the only one totally fed up!!??

Indianna2006 · 29/12/2021 17:12

@Decaffe thanks! Yes that must of been the one I saw.

I normally ovulate CD13 but last month as late on CD14 as I felt it with one sided pain.
We last dtd night of CD6. And I’m now CD9 so I’m gonna assess on CM whether to go for dtd CD10 evening or morning of CD11.

Fingers crossed as this is different might shake the sperm up a bit to get a move on 😂😂
@FreckledMouse yes I’m cycle 9 too 💕. It is tough going.

@Indianna2006 hahaha yes they probs do know a lot about sperm. I’m going to try and find that post. Really want ALL the percentage chance I can get haha.

No you just wear it at night so no one knows! So far so good, I’m enjoying the data it gives me.
I saved the post!

If you ovulate on day 14, do days 7, 11, 13, 15.
If you ovulate on day 13, do days 6, 10, 12, 14.

And so on.

We were going to go with this approach this month but realised we were both off work during fertile window. So we’ve just been doing it as much as possible, partly to make up for the fact we were with family 24-26th. So we have done once on 27th, twice on 28th, once on 29th (so far) and will do once tomorrow too. Got my peak OPK yesterday afternoon.

TiredbutTrying41 · 29/12/2021 11:31

Hi all. Is anyone able to just “not think about it”
We only decided to TTC no. 2 at Christmas but now it’s consuming my every thought. We were lucky and fell pregnant first time last time but I’m 41 in a few weeks and just worry everything is against us.

FlyOnTheWall89 · 29/12/2021 11:19

Indianna2006 · 29/12/2021 11:09

@FlyOnTheWall89 I knoowww it’s so confusing isn’t it. Like some things say every day is fine especially if no issue with sperm count. Although every other day supposedly is almost as good as every day. Like the percentage is like 30% and then like 33% so not worth burn out over.

BUT a fertility clinic when asking for a sperm sample wants you to abstain for 3-4 days. For the best sample. So there must be something in it or they wouldn’t ask you to. They certainly don’t want you to have ejaculated 24 hours before. An surely they must know a lot about sperm 😂😂😂

I think it maybe was the same post I saw..possibly. And when I looked back over my app I log. We’ve done every day. Every month. And it clearly isn’t working 😂🙄 so figured worth switching it up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ridiculous how once you get this far down spend far too long trying work out logistics and I still think it’s just pot luck sometimes 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Ooh that’s good! Do you wear it all the time? I’m gonna temp this month. But just before ovulation and after to pinpoint exactly when it is.
I usually get cramps so I’m taking it I ovulate on same day as my positive opk. But when ttc before I ovulated 2 days later from my positive opk when I was temping back them.

Wanna make sure I’m not being an idiot and missing peak days.

Hi girls! @Indianna2006 I’m on CD8, so just behind you! Interesting tactics - I have been reading about this too and playing with scenarios like maybe DH has lower sperm count etc but I can’t really find a solid answer on the BEST approach and quite a bit of confusing info. Read this www.avawomen.com/avaworld/how-often-should-you-have-sex-to-get-pregnant/. I saw a lady post about the specialist she saw who said CD7 (is this for a 28 days cycle) and then a few other days - can’t remember it tho … is this the same post you saw maybe?

My last cycle was 28 days, so I now have a range of 28-31. I’ve got an AVA bracelet to temp this month.

Xx

@Indianna2006

I'm on CD4 so just behind you ♥️ cycle #9
Sending all the sticky baby dust for this week for you !
I've been ovulating around CD 19 since my op so I have a wait yet.

Indianna2006 · 29/12/2021 10:00

@FlyOnTheWall89 @OK92 @FreckledMouse

Hi ladies how are we all getting on? CD9 here so about to enter fertile week.

Taking a slightly different approach this month though. We’ve been dtd everyday around fertile time and wondered maybe it’s too much. We haven’t tried every other. And I read in two places that fertility specialists suggested having sex on CD7. Then abstaining for 4 days and have sex every other day of fertile week on CD11,CD13,CD15 until you ovulate etc. so we’re giving that a try this week. Feel bad as means no sec for DH for like 4/5 days when he’s usually be getting some but worth a try! 😅

@Kiaa how are you lovely?

Did everyone have a nice Christmas? Xx

@FlyOnTheWall89 I know hun 😣 it can feel like everyone gets pregnant first month and that’s can. But also lots of people don’t.

Does your mum know your ttc? If so just say “hopefully in the new year” and leave it at that. People don’t always get how hard it can be.

Examples of people I know and how ttc has gone.

Cycle 1 for 1st child
Cycle 10 for second

Cycle 5 for 1st
Cycle 9 for second
Cycle 2 for third

Cycle 9 for 1st
Cycle 2 for second

Cycle 6 for 1st
Cycle 4 for second

Cycle 1 for 1st
Cycle 1 2nd

Cycle 1 for 1st
Cycle 2 for 2nd

Cycle 4 for 1st
Cycle 6 for second

Cycle 13 for 1st
Cycle 18 for 2nd

Cycle 6 for 1st
Cycle 2 for second

Those are examples..can be a big comparison.. and only 2 out of those has always been easy each time. Otherwise ppl seemed to struggle more one or the other.

I know it’s tough hun. But don’t give up. You’ve got another 4 goes and four more cycles before you finish 12 cycles and all likelihood you could have your two lines x

@Indianna2006 I just don’t understanddddd WHYYYYYY - most of my friends got pregnant in the first month they tried 😭, and I know my mother will ask me about babies this Christmas.

Indianna2006 · 22/12/2021 15:03

Indianna2006 · 22/12/2021 12:07

I have just started my own thread about possible chemical pregnancies back when I first started TTC…I didn’t think much of it at time. But now knowing my vitamin D issues..gives me maybe some hope thinking we have perhaps fallen but I couldn’t sustain it.

Appreciate if you ladies could take a look and let me know your thoughts. It’s called are these chemicals ? Line eyes please. Something like that 🙈

Frustrated with myself though for not thinking about my vitamin D before last 2 cycles..although I’d deff had no squinter for 4 cycles at least.. but 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Can keep hoping.
