Hi all

Just wondered if there was anyone else starting out now that wanted to keep me company?

Background is that I’ve been with my partner 3 years and I have one 5 year old from a previous relationship who DP treats as his own ( though he does see his dad).

I came off the injection in summer as it was making me fat and miserable, and last month we weren’t as careful as we should have been and we thought I was pregnant (possibly a CP) as several faint positives before AF.

Anyway DP now wants to try which is absolutely lovely and I’m so on board and excited.

I’ve been tracking my cycles as a contraceptive method so I know I’m due to ovulate tomorrow or the next day.

I would appreciate any advice and support as my little one was conceived on the pill so I didn’t get any of this excitement - but equally I don’t really know what I should and shouldn’t be doing.

:)

Haha thanks 😅

Yes! Fingers crossed this thread is lucky for all of us ✨

CoalCraft · 18/11/2021 14:14

It isn't me! It's @mamalaw88 that's had the good news. Pretty much impossible for me to be pregnant yet Grin

But I can toast to the hope that this is a lucky thread Wine

Beth262 · 18/11/2021 14:01

Congratulations @CoalCraft !! Hopefully this is a lucky thread! 🙏

Just joining in on the end here as this is our first month trying and I won’t lie girls, I’m going insane already.

I usually get ov pains, but none this month (Sod’s law or just my ovaries behaving themselves and not hurting?)

OPK’s - I tried tracking a few months ago to see if I got a peak and I did, but none this month so I’ve tossed them aside because they’re stressing me out big time!

BUT still had loads of EWCM this month so christ only knows what’s going on with my body.

Crazily we’ve BD’d every day since my last period and not quite running out of steam yet, so on the off chance an egg did actually pop out this month, hopefully it ran into the path of the sperm!

Literally don’t know how people do this for months on end - huge appreciation of you ladies!

Beck3115 · 18/11/2021 12:47

What do you guys think?

Thanks ladies, did another opk this morning still very strong but I wouldn’t say positive so I’ve either missed it or it’s still coming… I have had the pain I normally get yet.

@CoalCraft this is amazing news congratulations hun!!

@mamalaw88

Ah congrats!! Give it a chance to sink in and I'm sure you'll be thrilled ☺️

mamalaw88 · 18/11/2021 11:40

@ShaneTheThird Gosh that's such a tough situation - hope you & DP are able to use the time rest & recover - stress isn't going to be helpful for either of you. Keeping my fingers crossed for you next month! 🤞🏼

@CoalCraft... took an early ClearBlue digital test this morning & got a BFP....not going to lie - I am mildly freaking out. AF was due on Saturday (today is 12DPO) but I couldn't wait any longer....🙊🙈 going to do another test tomorrow/Saturday to confirm.

Good luck to everyone!!

redxlondon · 18/11/2021 11:21

I stupidly used up a first response test 7dpo….of course it’s negative, so hasn’t changed my frame of mind at all wondering am I, aren’t I

Beth262 · 18/11/2021 11:18

@Beck3115 Dann168 is right. You're not out of it yet - fit the deed in whenever you can 😁

@ShaneTheThird sorry to hear you've had such a rough time. Hopefully your partner feels well enough soon 🤞

@CoalCraft it's so annoying that pregnancy symptoms are the same as those for half a dozen other reasons!!

CoalCraft · 18/11/2021 11:03

@ShaneTheThird Welcome gosh, wishing your DP a speedy recovery, how scary for you both!

Still feeling mildly coldy, and had a flu jab yesterday which isn't helping! But nothing too severe.

My boobs have started hurting today, which is messing with my head a bit as that was my main symptom when early pregnant with DD. I'm definitely not pregnant though; only had my last pill on Friday so even if I ovulated the very next day (unlikely), it'd still only be 5 dpo. Just a side effect of coming off the pill, but annoying!

Dann186 · 18/11/2021 09:34

@Beck3115 you may still catch it! Just keep doing the deed as often as you can elavating your hips after...sperm can stay alive for up to 5 days!! Good luck!!

@ShaneTheThird Oh gosh that’s awful 😞 hopefully your partner is on the mend! Miscarriage is a horrific experience to go through, people say it just wasn’t meant to be etc but that doesn’t really help only time does. Glad your partner has decided to give TTC a go again and sending lots of positive thoughts your way

Beck3115 · 17/11/2021 22:01

I was due to ovulate yesterday but no real symptoms and these are my tests, first two yesterday and the bottom two are this morning and this evening.

So I think that it’ll be tomorrow that i get my lh peak and I’m still on nights! Oh well…

Good luck to everyone!

ShaneTheThird · 17/11/2021 15:00

Can I join even if I'm in a weird predicament at the moment.

2 years ago I accidentally found out I was pregnant and that was a not nice time with me and dp tbh which ultimately ended in a miscarriage at 12 weeks. It took two years of trying to convince dp to TTC (he had so many issues with his ex in this time hence the long delay) finally he agreed to TTC last month I was over the moon but first month unsuccessful. Then to really throw a spanner in the works dp had a major heart attack a couple of weeks ago! So TTC is on standby for a month. Hopefully next Month we can resume.

Welshgal85 · 17/11/2021 14:54

Thanks ladies 😊 will start taking folic acid!

We don’t smoke and aren’t really big drinkers so that should be fine.
We both want to lose a bit of lockdown weight so have been trying to do more regular exercise!

How is everyone else getting on?

CoalCraft · 17/11/2021 14:48

@Dann186

I was on the mini-pill so no week off or anything like that - you just keep taking the same dose all the time. Withdrawal bleed has been and gone, lasted all of about 36 hours (unless there's more to come), but yeah, not expecting cycle to be up and running yet. Was just curious as I woke up feeling coldy again and it got me thinking!

@mamalaw88
First time TTC I got my BFP about six weeks after my last combined pill. I didn't really get a chance to monitor my cycle as only had one period between end of withdrawal bleed and BFP! Hope it goes quickly for you too.

@Welshgal85
If you are a smoker or big drinker (or your partner is), try to quit / cut down. Otherwise just start with the folic acid (the sooner the better) and you're all set!

Beth262 · 17/11/2021 14:38

Welcome new ladies!

@Welshgal85 My advice would be to start the folic acid now if your aiming for a January ttc window.

Welshgal85 · 17/11/2021 13:28

Can I join too please? 😊 will be TTC #1 in January so it’s all new to me!

I’m already taking vitamin D and will start with the folic acid soon too. Is there anything I need to be doing? I’m trying to lose a bit of weight too as put on a bit in lockdown but finding that tricky!

mamalaw88 · 17/11/2021 13:19

Hope it's ok to join too! TTC #1 - about 2 months in. I'm 33 and step-mum to 2 wonderful SKids, excited to hopefully add to the brood with an ours baby. Came off the mini-pill in June, but only started properly monitoring my cycle in August (only now am I aware that my cycle is looooong - about 40 days), used to think I was just suuuper irregular.

Currently 10 DPO, AF should be due in around 3 days but been feeling bloated, sore boobs, mild cramps, lower back ache and mildly nauseous (like that sick/full feeling when you wake up from a nap) since 6DPO...
Part of me doesn't think it will happen this quickly so I'm cautiously optimistic about taking a test this weekend.

Just curious, for those who already have kids, how long did it take you after coming off birth control / starting to actively TTC to get pregnant?

Baby dust, love & luck to you all! ✨

Babydancing2020 · 17/11/2021 12:14

Hi everyone is there room for 1 more:D
We just decided to ttc #3! We got a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Not really focused on getting pregnant more like a stopped the pill see if my cycle goes back to normal kinda mindset. Been on cerelle for almost a year literally just stop taking it a few dahs ago. Baby dust to all of you!

Dann186 · 17/11/2021 11:50

@CoalCraft I think they definitely can, I think there are such a vast amount of things that can throw cycles off to be honest! Also, as you have been on the pill for a while your body will need the time to adjust itself! I am guessing you are currently waiting for your withdrawal bleed? Did you take the full 21 days of your last pack or stop mid way etc?

CoalCraft · 16/11/2021 20:39

Blech, think I am getting yet another cold - has been pretty constant since DD started going to nursery.

Can minor viral colds and things affect your cycle? It's been so long since I've had a natural cycle (no pill or pregnancy) that I can't remember!

Dann186 · 16/11/2021 18:18

Hello ladies! Welcome all! Lots of us starting the journey which is lovely! Hopefully lots of Christmas/new year’s BFPs for us all! Would be a great present wouldn’t it and what a way to start 2022! Sprinkling magical pregnancy dust on you all! 🧚

Samthenanny · 16/11/2021 17:15

Hi everyone can I join please

I’m 34 and trying for baby no1. Been on the pill for years came off it about 8 weeks ago, finally had a period which I thought wouldn’t happen for ages so according to Flo we should ovulate next week, it’s all a bit daunting and exciting also.

Hope everyone’s doing ok
