Hi all

Just wondered if there was anyone else starting out now that wanted to keep me company?

Background is that I’ve been with my partner 3 years and I have one 5 year old from a previous relationship who DP treats as his own ( though he does see his dad).

I came off the injection in summer as it was making me fat and miserable, and last month we weren’t as careful as we should have been and we thought I was pregnant (possibly a CP) as several faint positives before AF.

Anyway DP now wants to try which is absolutely lovely and I’m so on board and excited.

I’ve been tracking my cycles as a contraceptive method so I know I’m due to ovulate tomorrow or the next day.

I would appreciate any advice and support as my little one was conceived on the pill so I didn’t get any of this excitement - but equally I don’t really know what I should and shouldn’t be doing.

@Beth262 I’m pretty sure it’s just something to do with ovulation, I get horrid pains which I had on my left side but this is now on my right. It’s settled a bit anyway 🤷‍♀️ I’ve never noticed spotting before so it’s really interesting that you say that @Daisydolly1986.

@CoalCraft I haven’t gone that far yet I’ve been rushing about all over so no time to wait this cycle but it’s our first go x

Just thinking, do you guys hold with the idea of staying lying down for a period of time after DTD? So gravity isn't making things harder for the swimmers? If so, how long?

She's better, thank you! Not 100% but on the mend. It's actually her birthday today so very busy with family etc.

My boobs are still hurting - same happened last time o came off the pill so not reading anything into it but it's annoying!

Should I be concerned? We dtd last night but it wasn’t rough. I have lower back pain and pain on my side but it’s not what I recognise as my normal ovulation pain x

No, I regularly had spotting after painful ovulation. No need to worry!

I don’t suppose it matters really I’m just intrigued by it all at the moment. Managed to pounce on my other half when he came in from work last night. He doesn’t know what’s hit him 😂

I’m so tired this morning and absolutely desperate for a bacon sandwich

I'll be honest - I'm not sure either 😂 I was thinking it was after because it's one day past... if anyone can help though please shout out!

Does anyone know or have any thought on Covid when TTC?

There’s a lot of it going round the office at the mo and I’m a little concerned that it would stop me getting pregnant 🤔 I’ve had both jabs though!

Uch, DD not too well today, looks like a tummy bug. DH also coming down with something, so altogether not a healthy household right now!

Shame about DH as I'm actually feeling a bit frisky today, which I take as a sign that my body's adjusting to not having the pill (it definitely slowed down my sex drive a bit...) Hopefully he'll be feeling up to it later!

TWW - Two Week Wait
OPK - Ovulation Predictor Kit
DTD - Doing The Deed

I’ve officially given up OPKs and it’s only my first month 🤣

They didn’t show any surge and I’m 99% sure I ovulated today because my ovary has been hurting… just when I thought it was about to, it’s been stabby all afternoon 🙄

Onto cycle two… ding ding! 😂

Joining this thread please.
First ever cycle TTC. Had positive/surge using OPKs on Monday 15th.
Now in the TTW club, my! I realise what an impatient woman I am!

I had been worried OH wouldn't be as excited (kids from previous) but last night he was randomly asking about children's play areas nearby. I thought that a random question and asked why, he said he was thinking of me and the baby. Getting way ahead of himself but it was very reassuring to hear.
