Help!! I got my bfp on monday night with clear blue digital (says pregnant in words), so today i thought (as you do) the spare test from the same box i will use it to check again and came up not pregnant. I have had no bleeding still feel shattered and queasy, no cramps or bleeding.
Am i pg or not?

Thanks all.

camilla- i have read on a site that sometimes cbd are known to detect LH hormone and has caused a few false positives,so maybe thats what it was ( if this is true).

i have decided to wait untill af is due and avoid confusion. x

agree with lulu. clearblue et al make a lot of money by encouraging us to test early but the reality is that it causes a lot of heartache in the long run. i hope that it is a false bfn though

what SoH said

this is a problem with early testing, if your cycle is regular, then waiting until at least the day your period would be due is better... if you wait until you are late, then you know whether you need to test or not.

early testing often causes a lot of upset and worry.

you cannot get a false positive , but you can get a false negative... the test is looking for HcG, which is only present in urine when you are pregnant.

i also hope you get the answer you want. tescos tests have always worked for me (well both times, although this time we did about 10 tests to make sure as we were testing early and they were really faint)

good luck

I was thinking that may be the case also .

The other possibility is that it could be a chemical pregnancy. I hope not and that the second test is just wrong but chemical pregnancies are very common and you only really know about them if you test early.

I hope you get the answer you want.

Hopefully- i was thinking the same can you reccomend another test other than cbd?

Thanks Jb i know its early for this month but my nov af was only 2 days spotting and was feeling faint on fri thats what prompted me to test iyswim. i thought i must have concieved last month. i will just have to wait and see it going to be one long week ! Just can't understand bfp then bfn with cbd i thought they were supposed to make finding out easier!

Did you say that you thought your last AF might have been implantation though? Or am I imagining it?

Have you got time to dash out and get another test today, then at least you can test first thing in the morning? Not that that's any help at all right now. A friend of mine once tried just not weeing for several hours and not drinking too much so it was as concentrated as it would be in the morning when she wanted to test in the afternoon. No idea if it is as effective though.

JingleBelgoHoHoHo · 13/12/2007 15:58

your AF is due on the 22nd? If you tested last monday, that's very early to test. Today is also very early to test. I would wait until the 22nd to test.

Holly78 · 13/12/2007 15:55

i got the positive in the evening and the negative one this afternoon. i called the Dr surgery and spoke to the nurse she said test in a couple of days or wait till my af is due on the 22nd and see if it comes or not! i am gutted that i might not be pg after all.

did you do the tests with first morning wee. if you did the negative one later in the day the hormone level could be diluted and give you a negative. positives are positives.... though just re read and you got the positive at night... i'd do another test. first response always reliable with me

SantasLittleToiletFlusher · 13/12/2007 14:14

I heard that a negative result can sometimes be wrong, but a positive result is never wrong.

Can you get to a chemist to buy another test to put your mind at rest?
