Just a thread for any ladies ttc after a miscarriage! Nice to get some support from people going through the same thing. So I had a MMC at ten weeks nearly three weeks ago now. I'm still getting faint positive on tests. My ovulation tests are still all over the place possibly due to the HCG still being in my system. So not totally accurate right now. So I'm currently stuck in limbo land either waiting for ovulation or my period 🤔 any ladies want to join the journey?!?!

So....I'm wondering when's best to start TTC after a miscarriage? It's coming up to 2 weeks since I had medical management for a MMC. I tested yesterday and still showing positive. Should I wait for a negative test? Thanks xx

Rachae · 25/11/2021 16:23

@LittleMysSister thank you ☺️ So sorry to hear you've been through it too. Fingers crossed your period comes soon X

Thanks @Skl2021 xx

LittleMysSister · 25/11/2021 15:47

@BigAlice I feel just the same way about getting told loads about the miscarriage itself but not much at all about afterwards. I am 2 weeks past my MC now but am still having twinges and aches, and they never mentioned this could happen so I have been really worried and scared something is up, even though I know logically my HCG was down at pre-pregnant levels last week and an internal scan showed up nothing untoward while I was in the midst of the MC.

It's only through finding threads on here that I've seen actually it's common and normal to still have twinges and aches and pains in the weeks following. I am just living for my period to come so I can breath a proper sigh of relief, I feel like I won't be truly convinced it's all over until then.

@Rachae Sorry to hear you've been through this a few times but glad you'll hopefully get some answers now, and also that you've got such a positive outlook :) Can't go wrong with that x

Skl2021 · 25/11/2021 15:23

@Rachae your strength is amazing I don't think I would be that positive after that many!! But like your say life's short and you will get there it may just take a little longer!! Oh no that is terrible I pray it doesn't happen while your there. Such horrible timing my heart goes out to you xx

Thanks @Skl2021 ☺️ you go through that many of them, that you realise they just steal all of your energy and joy. Life's too short for me to keep doing that, so I've just got to be positive and a bit clinical about it all.

One nightmare tho is it's my sister's wedding tomorrow in horrid timing. I'm going to have to take the container with me to the wedding and me and my fiance won't be able to drink as we'll have to leave if I miscarry and then drive 2 hours to the hospital 🙈🙈 praying to miscarry tonight or after the wedding. Xx

@Rachae I'm so sorry to read this it's absolutely heartbreaking 😩 I'm so glad they have agreed to test tho hopefully u might get some answers. Your attitude is amazing! your definitely right it will happen for you keep going ❤️✨ xx

Hey ladies... so I'm back!

Sadly this is 5th time unlucky. I've learnt a few lessons... good line progression and seeing hcg double is not guarantee. Found out I'm due to mc shortly and the cramps have started. :-( Fortunately, this time they've agreed to do testing for me on the embryo.

Onwards and upwards though - never giving up! Hope you're all ok xx

Skl2021 · 25/11/2021 09:48

@NooNoo88 congratulations that is lovely news 🎉💞✨
@BigAlice glad u got some answers! Yes they don't tell you alot or prepare you do they! Yes good luck with your next cycle 🤞🤞

Thanks @Skl2021 so I spoke to the EPU this morning and they have said that this level of bleeding is normal for you first period after miscarriage. I just had no idea, I feel like I was given loads of information relating to the miscarriage itself but not how things would be after….I didn’t expect this. But hey ho….on to the next cycle! OPKs again soon

NooNoo88 · 25/11/2021 09:24

Hi everyone, hope I can join in on this thread. Yesterday had a positive pregnancy test after three years - YES THREE YEARS! - of ttc. Feeling very very nervous at this stage but keeping everything crossed! I hope you guys are all doing well and things work out for everyone Thanks

Skl2021 · 25/11/2021 09:15

@BigAlice welcome! Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I think it could be normal as your cycle can take a while to go back to normal but if your concerned maybe call go or epu? X

How is everyone getting on? ✨
I'm pretty sure my period is starting. Feeling a bit up and down. I'm already getting pains so expecting it to be bad. I'm happy I'm starting a fresh cycle but it brings back alot of memories. X

Hi everyone, I wonder if I can join in? I suffered my first miscarriage in early October and have had my first period following that starting on 13 November - it started off slow, got really heavy and I’m not still spotting. Is that normal? Also, still crampy? I had a negative pregnancy test 3 weeks after the miscarriage started. Just so weird this bleeding is still going on….any help would be super helpful 😊

claremc1983 · 21/11/2021 14:52

@Skl2021 you know it happened our first month of trying. I've found I ovulate quite soon after AF ( my cycle is usually 24-28days). I used to try and time it mid way with previous pregnancies which took us longer. I sort of feel like I was punished for falling so easily on that cycle...stupid I know but all sorts goes through your mind I guess x

Hhdxx · 21/11/2021 12:56

@claremc1983 thank you. I hope so. I just know that I've already had a horrible thing happen and I know if doesn't mean I'll get good things now. X

claremc1983 · 21/11/2021 08:02

@Hhdxx Gosh I'm so very sorry to hear your story. You are incredibly strong. You will have your beautiful longed for baby in your nursery, I'm sure of it xxxx

Hhdxx · 20/11/2021 23:23

@Beth262 thank you. I know. I wanted to TTC as soon as I could as it took me 18 months to get pregnant with my daughter. This time it took 12 months. I'm just desperate to have children. We've got the nursery ready for when my daughter was born. It hurts so much just having her memory box. I honestly don't know how I've survived the last 15 months but I have. I even had my baby by myself because of stupid COVID. All worst nightmares actually happened. X

Skl2021 · 20/11/2021 21:03

@claremc1983 no it will take a while. I don't think I have fully. Some days little things set me off and I can't stop crying but it's getting better slowly. I didn't know anything about miscarriage before going through this or how common it is. Glad there's places like this to talk to people who know what your going through as the aftercare for miscarriage is non existent. Yes I always wonder what if I did something different but you can't think like that it will destroy you. Did it take you long to conceive? It took me 9 months so hoping it's not that long again x

@Skl2021 we sound very similar. I still haven't processed it yet I don't think. You just don't think it'll happen to you. It's the not knowing why which I find soo hard. I'm 38 ( 39 in jan) and I know time isn't on my side...x

Skl2021 · 20/11/2021 20:25

@claremc1983 when it happened I thought I wouldn't want to try again. I was also nieve and thought oh it won't happen to me until it does. IV got two kids and didn't have problems in pregnancy. It takes time. I was very up and down but it does get better. Now I'm desperate to start trying again I'm absolutely petrified of it happening again. I'm just waiting around for period now whenever it will arrive. You will know if the times right And things will get brighter ✨💕 xx

Ttc after miscarriage 🤞🌈✨

@Skl2021 thanks for your response. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. How are you feeling a few weeks on now? I'm very up and down. That makes sense re the negative tests. I'm definitely going to wait till I test negative. X

claremc1983 · 20/11/2021 19:49

@Beth262 thanks for your reply, wishing you all the luck in the world for TTC. How are u feeling about trying again? X

Beth262 · 20/11/2021 19:24

Oh gosh @Hhdxx how absolutely awful for you. I can't begin to imagine how hard that must have been. I honestly don't think I'd be mentally ready after 3 months in that position x

@claremc1983 I had what I believe was a chemical pregnancy around 3 weeks ago. EPU referred to it as a pregnancy of unknown location. I should have been around 7 weeks but just had a small cystic mass that measured around 4 weeks so I guess it just stopped growing again but earlier this time around than previously. They took bloods but my levels were dropping like a stone. Had two negative tests last weekend so all re-set to start trying again. Using opk to try and have some idea of dates rather than wait for AF first x

Skl2021 · 20/11/2021 18:33

@claremc1983 I think if your ready then go for it don't wait. I think the main reason they want u to have a period is so they can't date the pregnancy early but also if your still getting positive tests it would be hard to tell what's old HCG and what's new if u get me. I had a MMC 4 weeks ago now. I was ten weeks pregnant. Haven't had my period yet and still getting faint positives on tests 😩 I'm waiting to try until IV had first period tho and hopefully my tests will be negative again xx

@Beth262 when was your last MC if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying not to lose hope. I have a 4 and 2 year old at home, both easy pregnancies. No issues so this just came as a huge shock. Did t expect it to happen to me...how naive x

Hhdxx · 20/11/2021 17:46

Hi ladies,
I know it's not the same but I had a c-section with my daughter who I sadly lost. I was told to wait 3 months before I could start trying again. I was also told if you've given birth naturally, the wait is much shorter. Obviously check with your doctor's first though but hopefully that gives you hope for the wait not been too long and hopefully hormones to go back to normal. I had my first period 5 weeks after having the C section xxx
