Just a thread for any ladies ttc after a miscarriage! Nice to get some support from people going through the same thing. So I had a MMC at ten weeks nearly three weeks ago now. I'm still getting faint positive on tests. My ovulation tests are still all over the place possibly due to the HCG still being in my system. So not totally accurate right now. So I'm currently stuck in limbo land either waiting for ovulation or my period 🤔 any ladies want to join the journey?!?!

@Skl2021 weirdly my skin was horrific when I was pregnant. Cleared up a bit now but always get spots just before ovulation ( on my chin/jaw) x

Skl2021 · 04/01/2022 21:28

@calimc83 yes always a line so don't get excited just yet 🤣 haha good on ya! Stay strong 🙌🤞👀

Bit of a random question ladies how is your skin after miscarriage? I have never been a spotty person maybe the odd one here and there but since then my skin is terrible 😭 especially my face! And hot flushes and itchy spots 🙈 is it just me?! Currently having an outburst now but didn't know if it was due to ovulation? X

@Skl2021 😆😆😆😆 nope I'm not going to do anymore..yeah I thought there was always some sort of line? Must resist buying frers...x

Skl2021 · 04/01/2022 18:27

@calimc83 you will always have a line it's just mine started to get darker every day so I knew something was happening and it was too early for af! It didn't go positive until 7/8 dpo so your still to early! Haha don't take advise from me the serial tester 😬🤣 I really need to remove them from the house! X

@MO22 all in all 5 weeks x

calimc83 · 04/01/2022 17:38

@MO22 it took me around 3 weeks and then after my first AF to finally get a negative test...but I had Medical management so not sure if that makes a difference? X

calimc83 · 04/01/2022 17:37

@Skl2021 ohhh interesting! As soon as u mentioned this I trotted off to do a test. There was a faint line but I'm going to try my hardest not to do that again as don't want to build up my hopes 🙈😆 x

chasingtherainbow1 · 04/01/2022 15:15

@MO22 thank you, we're hoping for third time lucky! We conceived first time both times and started trying between august and October until we had some NK cells tests. This is our first month back trying since those. Just frustrating how it was so quick the last 2 times.

Oh that's good that we're on the same DPO! You can encourage me not to test early 😂

arianasky · 04/01/2022 14:41

@calimc83 yeah just a waiting game now 😔 I prob will test in the morning just to see if it's fainter of its negative 😞

MO22 · 04/01/2022 14:40

@chasingtherainbow1 I forgot to say, I'm really sorry for you loss, that sounds so hard to go from one to the next, my heart goes out to you. I really hope this cycle goes well...
God the early testing is awful isn't it, I really try and hold out. If I ovulated a few days ago technically I could be 2DPO as well (DTD just in case static smiley was right!) so you'll have a pal in the process depending on what on earth happens with these lines!

@calimc83 it's so weird that our bodies can ovulate so soon after those events. It basically made me think, crack on to be honest! How long did it take for the retained product to go and to get the neg test?

Honestly I dont know what to think at this point!

Skl2021 · 04/01/2022 14:26

@calimc83 last time I got pregnant my opks got weirdly darker to like nearly positive then I got a positive HCG test and then they were positive. But it doesn't work for everyone some people get lh surge before period. So wouldn't want to get your hopes up! Heres a pic see I was getting strong lines on opk before I got positive HCG test X

@MO22 I ovulated and was still getting positive tests! Was a bit of a mind f**k...only reason I know was I went in for a scan for retained material and the sonographer could see I was about to ovulate 🙈..she told me that and then I obviously went home to DTD! 😆 then got told off as was supposed to wait for a negative test x

chasingtherainbow1 · 04/01/2022 14:21

@MO22 oh that's good that your negative was with early response. I would imagine your hcg definitely returned to zero then before the last test. Yeah I was told you can still ovulate when there's left over hcg but the chances of getting pregnant during this time are lower. But sounds like yours are at zero anyway.

Yeah I guess all you can do is retest in a few days. Oh god I know, I'm so bad for waiting to test, I must have spent a fortune on tests over the last few months! I'm currently 2DPO and I already know I'll be testing at 8DPO because o can't help myself 😂

calimc83 · 04/01/2022 14:20

Oh god @Skl2021 don't tempt me with the OPKs! 😆😆 got loooads of those about....if I did...how should a positive one look?? 🙈 hope u don't have too much longer to wait x

Skl2021 · 04/01/2022 14:13

@calimc83 I'm loosing my Mind already. No change in opks! 🤣😬 Cd 12. Wish it would happen already 🙈 last month was cd 17 so probably got a while to go yet. Haha hey I bet IV tested that early before 🤣👀 I usually test with opks aswell before switching to HCG! X

@chasingtherainbow1 I had a MMC too, discovered at 12 weeks as I was bleeding, so my body did start to pass it but I went with SMM just so I could move it. To be honest, I was really surprised (but pleased) to get the negative test two weeks later and because it was an early response one I figured we were good to go, but I guess maybe not.

I don't really know where I stand with FRER, I should probably wait two days and test again but who am I kidding, I'm sure I'll be POAS desperately tomorrow. I have read you can still ovulate even if HCG is not zero tho?

calimc83 · 04/01/2022 14:02

@Skl2021 how are u getting on?? I'm 4 DPO and contemplating testing! 😆😆😆 must step away from the tests...x

calimc83 · 04/01/2022 13:57

@MO22 ahh ok...if you had a negative test after the medical management u should be ok?? Maybe tests again in a few days to see if any line progression...I have everything crossed for you! As @chasingtherainbow1 mentioned the line definitely has colour so shouldn't be an indent x

calimc83 · 04/01/2022 13:54

@arianasky I can totally imagine. I'd be the same. I guess it's just a case now of hanging on till Thursday. Can u hold off testing till then? X

chasingtherainbow1 · 04/01/2022 13:51

@MO22 some seem to have the lines and others don't, I've been really disappointed with them recently. Yeah I don't think clear blue are as sensitive.

It's really frustrating isn't it. I had a mc/chemical in March and got pregnant the next cycle without a period but my hcg on day of mc was already as low as 9. It was so difficult to try and date the next pregnancy. Unfortunately the next one turned out to be a mmc and it took 10 weeks for my hcg to return to zero! I had scans for retained tissue but it was all clear. I think sometimes it just takes a while for hcg to reset, especially with mmc.

MO22 · 04/01/2022 13:40

@chasingtherainbow1 I've never used FRER before, first time today as I wasn't sure if/when I'd ovulated so wanted to go for the earliest one. I have read re the pre-set line stuff tho but I forgot to look before I POAS! I will tomorrow.

I used clear blue early detection for my neg test, I'm guessing that's probably not as sensitive as FRER? I've also got one of those, a digital one, so will try again tomorrow.

Weirdly I also got a static smiley a few days ago as I was waiting for ovulation, although not sure that can be linked given the FRER was so light today.

I've made a bit of a mess of this ha, I'll just have to see on line progression but I'm beginning to think this is just wistful thinking and maybe retained product. Confused

chasingtherainbow1 · 04/01/2022 13:34

@MO22 I have had quite a few FRERS like that over the last few months. They now have a preset line on them which you can see before you even use them.

What brand of test did you use when you got the negative after mc? I was getting positive frers for a while whilst other brands were negative after mc.

However, I do think the test looks slightly darker than the false positive lines people have been getting recently. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

MO22 · 04/01/2022 13:25

@calimc83 so er, no cycle... Confused I haven't had my period yet, but I did get a neg pregnancy test post surgical management in Dec. We DTD first 11 days after surgery as I'd stopped bleeding and they said it was ok once bleeding had stopped - but I didn't necessarily think I'd ovulate or anything.

I am a bit worried that maybe I read that negative test wrong? My sis is a doctor and I showed her and she said it was negative tho, I don't know. I think I just need to keep testing and see if the line gets darker.

I suppose this is why they say wait one cycle... Idiot!

arianasky · 04/01/2022 13:22

@calimc83 she was lovely tbh I thought they might think I'm daft but she was very understanding thankfully, I'm ok very up and down I have loads of symptoms I've had positive tests normal and digital but the fact their lighter is making me panic and making me believe I'll lose the pregnancy soon 😔

calimc83 · 04/01/2022 13:18

@MO22 exciting! Defo positive..what cycle are u on after MC? X
