@Tinkerbell098 I’m sorry! IVF is such a big step. I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better now and you have a plan going forward. Hopefully IVF, although intrusive, will give you the chance you need. How you been given any indication how long the IVF wait will be?

My appointment is at two this afternoon. I’m nervous, will just have to wait and see what they say.

@Lauralozzle my HSG result showed that my left tube is potentially blocked as they couldn't see any dye spilling over, whereas the right tube was perfectly fine. I have now been referred to IVF. Took me a couple of days to process it all and I was in tears most of the weekend. Feeling better now though that we have a plan. Although I kind of saw it coming, it's different when someone says it to your face that you need IVF.

@HopefulGlow I don’t have typical symptoms. My sister has PCOS so that’s always on the back of my mind, and dr Google says previous thyroid/prolactin tests that were high/borderline could be PCOS. But im pretty sure I ovulate regularly so who knows! I think it’s very possible I have endo - I’ve had horrible period pain for years but I know how to medicate it, have some twinges in my pelvic area sometimes but the other signs I don’t have- sex isn’t painful, I don’t have mid cycle spotting or anything. But, if I had endo around my right ovary/tube I would not be surprised at all. In my head, I think it’s pretty likely.

Fertility appointment on Monday! This appointment has crept up on me! I’ll let you know how it goes!

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well and holding up. I've got my follow up appointment this evening so will report back with the HSG findings. Feeling nervous about it as can't help thinking there's something wrong.
Also OH has had a blood test done to measure blood testosterone levels (for something completely unrelated) and found his levels are lower than reference range, so feel like we've got more problems. His SA was done 6 months ago which came back normal, so

@Tinkerbell098 I’m glad it didn’t hurt too much. I imagine I’ll end up needing one, I think I can cope with two minutes of pain. Hopefully when they tell you how everything is next week it will be okay. I know how easy it is to overthink these things and imagine the worst possible outcome.

@Fra1991 hopefully AF goes quickly. I have months when it’s not too bad, but then an odd month when it’s pretty painful. After that one day though of horrible cramps I was fine. Didn’t even have many clots at all this month which was strange. Not sure if that’s a good thing or not!

@HopefulGlow thanks, yeah I rested up. It’s fine now, pretty much finished. Waiting for my fertile week to come along now! I hope the SA goes well for you.

Re the tests/appointments- I’m excited to finally get somewhere and in a way I’m looking forward to having the doctors formulate a plan. On the other hand, I’m bricking it. Keep thinking what if my thyroid is not high enough for the GP to worry about but too high for TTC. Same with the prolactin issue, not high enough for endocrinologist to see me but too high for ttc. Or what if I have endo (I suspect I probably do) or pcos (although it’s never been raised but my sister has it so…). Odds are they’ll find something - just need to try and keep positive!

@Fra1991 haha yea, same, not really relaxed as "need to look at the left tube more closely" is playing at the back of my mind and to me, it sounds like something is wrong, but hopefully fixable. Yesterday was day 12 for me, and I ovulate around day 17 (30 day cycle girl), so yes I intend to try this cycle, although I may be ovulating from my dodgey side this month (feeling some twinges on the left side this morning, but could be HSG related). So far I've had all bloods (progesterone, prolactin, TSH, FSH, LH, AMH), ultrasound (external and internal) and HSG. OH has also had SA done. Investigations started July last year and I was referred to NHS fertility in Aug. I still haven't heard from them and apparently the wait is one year in my area, so decided to go private last month.
Sorry AF has arrived for you, but glad it's not as painful. Good luck for a fresh cycle. When is your HSG/hycosy booked? Is that also private?

Glad it went better than expected! Good he said it doesnt sound anything major so you can relax a little (I know personally I am never fully relaxed at the moment haha).
Can you go ahead and try after the HSG? mine seems like its right at the start of my fertile period. Do you mind me asking what other tests you have had?
AF is here for me atm and causing me pain but not as bad as last month at least. Cant wait for her to leave! How is everyone?

Thanks girls! The HSG went better than I expected. Felt pain when the catheter was inserted which only lasted about 2 mins (possible less) and was over before I knew it. The assisstants and the doctor were so nice and friendly they kept me calm throughout. I was squeezing one of their hands during bless her!
The doctor didn't give me the results there and then as he said he needs to analyse the results and have a closer look at the left tube and write up a report for my consultant. Sounds like something is wrong, although he said there are no major concerns. The appointment with the consultant is next week, so I won't know what's wrong until then. Overall, I'm glad it's out of the way and it was the last test I needed to get done to get a full picture of what's going on.

@Lauralozzle thank you, I hope so. I’ve been on anti sickness the past few weeks but had periods where they won’t stay down due to the sickness and some days they’ve stayed down but it’s not helped ease it at all.

@Fra1991 I Hope AF doesn’t get you, but I’m sorry if she does! It’s good that you’re getting you’re hycosy done soon, hopefully it’ll all be clear.

@AZ1992X oh no! Hopefully some rest will help on the work front so you don’t have to worry about that and the hyperemesis. Fingers crossed for you that you don’t have to have anymore hospital trips and that it stops in the next few weeks. Have they given you anything for the sickness, to help you keep things down?

Sorry for the radio silence, still really unwell - been diagnosed with Hyperemesis gravidarum and had a few more hospital trips since I last posted.

Finally decided to get signed off other than having just the odd day off. I’m hoping it’ll ease in upcoming weeks as I’m worrying will affect my pregnancy so that’s why I’m a little quiet but still here.

I’ve had spotting since Thursday so af will be here Wednesday or Friday for me. Had a wee breakdown at work Thursday but thanks to @Amy259 I decided to try to do something about it and book the hycosy so I have that this month which is good. Thank you for the advice Amy, when I thought about it was like if there is a block then mignt aswell get some time to see if that’s the problem. We still can’t get our nhs data so they won’t book our next ivf appointment. Have had to book a SA privately in April just in case.
@lilrosemarie so sorry about your results that is absolutely gutting. I’ve seen somewhere else about those cb ones being super cruel.

Well, I stupidly took a test on Friday because it hadn’t arrived and was due that day, of course it was a stark white negative, about an hour later I had spotting and then woke up at half four in the morning with horrendous period pain. Spent most of yesterday asleep but I feel much better now.

Not had a bad period for ages, so it was about time haha.

I have the next week off as annual leave so looking forward to that. My fertility appointment is March, should be just after ovulation! So, on the diet like a mad woman to make sure my bmi is below 30 in case they inevitably weigh me! I’m looking forward to it though, for some movement. I’m pretty sure after 2 years IVF is on the cards but will be good to see what they say.

I’ve been quiet as just needed a little break from everything.

Currently 12 dpo today so AF should show up anytime now. Not much chance this month, boobs have been horrendously sore this month but I get that sometimes and it always comes to nothing. They’re significantly less painful this morning though, and given the fact we only managed to BD day after peak this cycle not particularly hopeful that we have much of a chance. But, getting this cycle over and gone with brings us closer to the hospital appointment next month and I’m looking forward to that for something to start happening!

@AZ1992X hope you’re feeling a bit better now.

@lilrosemarie I’m sorry your bloods were negative. I get EWCM a couple of days before AF starts most months. I suspect I’ve had some cycles where I think I haven’t ovulated but they’re pretty much same length for me - between 26-34 days.

@Fra1991 exciting to hear about your private app.

Has this happened to anyone here? Not the false positives, but perfect and anovulatory cycle? Was your period late?
A couple days ago I had a huge amount of ewcm, that was on the same day as the neg. blood test and it got me thinking that I could be ovulating 😬 and not truly late for my period after all.

AF is still not here, and I’m on CD39, usually around 30 days, so it could in fact be ovulation. 😬 If it was chemical, I think I would have got AF already. 😬

@lilrosemarie oh that's really annoying if they were indents/evaps. Especially the clear blue one that was most definitely a positive. Sorry this has happened to you. Hope AF arrives soon so you can get on with the next cycle.
