Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

Also, my scan is in a few hours! I am sick with nervesπŸ€£πŸ™ˆ

xoJellyBean · 24/11/2021 11:20

@HopefulGlow no worries!! I had a pretty chilled day, trying to rid allll stress for my life🀞🏻🀣

My husband was hesitant at the start because he thought I should be able to get all these tests on NHS but the waiting times made us decide to stick with private. That amount covered CT scan of my abdomen and pelvis and then the follow up appointment for the results! I hope that's the end of it 🀣

Yayyyy, congrats in the house πŸŽ‰πŸ₯°

Fingers crossed and stays away for you this weekend🀞🏻 when will you test??

@AZ1992X hope you're okay, I think it's good to give ourselves a break especially coming up to the holidays πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

HopefulGlow · 24/11/2021 08:14

Morning @AZ1992X πŸ’• don’t worry about being quiet, that’s totally understandable that you need some time off. Just know we are thinking of you.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea! Maybe your gp can investigate. It would be great to find out if there was something you could do to help. How are you and your OH coping?

I think if you need time off, go for it. 1 cycle is nothing if it means you’re feeling more festive and it helps your mental health.
I really hope you’re taking some time for you though!

I had a bath last night and a cry πŸ˜… I just get stuck in this loop sometimes of feeling frustrated there’s no answers, feeling broken that I can’t do something we were born to do, telling myself to be realistic as it’s only been 14 months, telling myself other people have been struggling more and longer, and then feeling like I’m ungrateful for the things in life I do have. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I dreamt my mum and sister were both pregnant last night….πŸ˜‚ i remember getting really frustrated in my dream 😫

Morning ladies!

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet, just needing some time out. Part of me is thinking of having a cycle off and enjoy the run up to Christmas without thinking about anything ttc but I’ll probably change my mind next week.

@HopefulGlow I’m thinking maybe I should tell my gp. It was to be referred for fertility services in April if I failed to conceive but I think it needs to be investigations for miscarriage rather than ttc? If that makes sense.

Keeping my fingers crossed everything goes through on the house & for a bfp this week 🀞🀞

Xx.

HopefulGlow · 23/11/2021 22:04

@xoJellyBean sorry I didn’t see this!! My Sunday was good thanks, we went on a little road trip randomly. how was yours?

I can’t believe how much it’s costing you 😫 that’s so expensive. I mean it completely worth it, but it’s such a shame the NHS wait is so long πŸ˜” what does the private costs include?

I don’t want to jinx it, but we may finally have a house! Just waiting for the paperwork to finalise. Yaaaaay

I’ve been feeling shocking this week. Took a covid test, and negative! But my OH keeps saying what if it’s a symptom 🀞🏼 Period is due on Sunday and I’m trying to think realistically. 😫

How is everyone else doing this week?βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

xoJellyBean · 21/11/2021 13:40

@HopefulGlow the joys of going private! It's costing me just short of £1k 😫 they told me I would be waiting 12mths+ for the NHS. It's in a very sad state at the moment😒 how's your Sunday going?

HopefulGlow · 21/11/2021 11:14

@xoJellyBean so glad you can get in quickly for a CT scan. Fingers crossed for your clomid starting too, that’s so exciting!! βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@AZ1992X thank you πŸ₯°πŸ₯° hope you're doing okay?!

@HopefulGlow I've just booked my CT scan for next week - they want to know what the 'mass' is first then hopefully I'll be starting clomid next cycle 🀞🏻 although now I feel under immense pressure to lose weight!! 🀣

AF arrived for me on Friday, weirdly on time even though I didn't ovulate! πŸ₯š

HopefulGlow · 20/11/2021 21:15

@xoJellyBean what can they do to help/assist with TTC now they know what the issue is?

I am now in my TWW, 5 DPO. I have plenty to keep me busy and this week has gone quickly, fingers crossed next week will too :)

I noticed you and @Tinkerbell098
had similar issues with your bloods and getting the correct results from your doctors. Would you recommend asking for a detailed report? My doctors just said all okay and then booked my scan. Should I be checking to make sure they are okay do you think?

@Amy259 oh my goodness 😭😭😭 I’m so happy your scan went well!! πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’• do you feel better after seeing the little bean and hearing their heartbeat? πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

@LA9610 I’m so sorry you’re feeling out this month. πŸ˜” definitely give yourself some TLC and pop on some Christmas films 😁 I love your optimism!! I’m sure if you ask Santa very nicely there could be a Christmas evening present πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@AZ1992X I’m so happy you’re holiday went well and it was a welcomed distraction.

But I’m so sorry the bleeding continued. I would definitely speak with your doctor and explain. I really hope you gets answers and a solution.

I’ve also just seen what Amy put about the doctors and getting help, I didn’t know this would affect your chances to get referred. Definitely keep it on the DL if it delays things then?

All these silly rules about help and referrals frustrate me so much!

@Amy259 Yes, just going to have a fairly chilled weekend. Maybe watched some films and do some online shopping. 😌

Bleeding seems to have really slowed down now so I’m hoping it’s about over and I’ll start tracking again in just over a week.

Thank you - it has a little bit, just need to think positive thoughts that next time will work out well.

That sounds like a good idea just making an appearance to show your face and then having a chilled weekend. Xx

Amy259 · 19/11/2021 19:44

@AZ1992X that’s good news, are you having a chill weekend? And a week of working from home sounds ideal too.

Everywhere seems to say that when implantation doesn’t succeed early on and we have a chemical, it’s assumed that egg just was sadly never destined to implant. Some crazy stat like it happens with 1 in 4 blastocysts apparently. It didn’t make me feel any better at the time, but there’s a bit of comfort in knowing its super likely it wasn’t anything to do with me, my hormones, or my body? And that there likely isn’t a problem causing them, which I also guess means it doesn’t make us any more likely to have another one? I know all of that info probably doesn’t help right now β™₯️

We have a neighbour’s birthday at our local tomorrow night, which we’ll stick our heads into but I can’t say I’m buzzing for a night at the pub πŸ˜‚ other than that, just chill xx

AZ1992X · 19/11/2021 19:15

@Amy259 I’m back to work on Monday so still got the weekend left, I work from home the majority of the time and I don’t think I’m due to go in next week which I’m glad about.

Thanks, that’s reassuring, hopefully it’ll not be affected too much.

Yes, it probably would affect getting referred in April. I’ll perhaps wait till then and see what happens and keep my fingers crossed for good news before then. I know someone who’s had recurrent miscarriages but gone on to have a successful pregnancy which is reassuring and I’m trying to stay positive. Just wish I could know now if there’s a reason!

Do you have any nice plans this weekend? Xx

Amy259 · 19/11/2021 17:02

@LA9610 thank you β™₯️

It’s amazing how much a work out changes your mood, the hardest part is actually motivating myself to get going haha. 3 costas would definitely have me up all night haha and I’m glad you’ve slept better since! Sorry to hear about your bfn, sending lots of love, but I love how positive you’re being - and so much to look forward to!!

That really made me laugh, merry Christmas indeed πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@AZ1992X I’m glad you managed to have a nice time away, when do you go back to work?

I just looked back on my app and my cycle after was just normal, I ovulated on the same day as I had the month before. Fingers crossed it doesn’t affect your next cycle.

I can’t remember if my GP said it counts or not, but I do remember her telling me (off record) that if she recorded it it would delay any help I got because of the 12 months unsuccessful conception rule, so I don’t think she did. Would it delay your April help if you tell them? Would it be an option to not tell them just now and if it happened again (which it won’t!β™₯️) call and tell them about both, and that that’s 3 at that point? Xx

AZ1992X · 19/11/2021 13:16

*chemical (sorry my minds a mess)

AZ1992X · 19/11/2021 13:15

Afternoon ladies,

Hope you’re all doing ok and are ready for the weekend?

Thanks for all your messages and support ❀️
I’m now home from my break and it feels so good to be back. Had a nice week and it’s been a very welcome distraction from everything.

I probably need to find out but not sure if ectopic pregnancies count as one of your three miscarriages but I really hope they do (obviously hope it doesn’t happen again but if it does would want some investigations to see if there’s a reason).

@Amy259 that’s great news, so glad everything went well! ❀️

Can you remember if your cycle was fairly normal after yours? Just trying to predict if it’ll affect ovulation this month.

@HopefulGlow thank you and it’s similar, I’ve had one day of quite heavy bleeding with small clots and tissue and it’s settled a little the last day or two and now medium flow. Hopefully it’ll stay like this and not get any heavier.

@xoJellyBean Never apologise for being quiet, we all need time out every now and again - it sounds like you’ve had a tough week so I completely get that. I hope now you’ve had a diagnosis that they can get you back on the right path ❀️

@LA9610 I’m sorry you’re having a tough time also, it’s really hard isn’t it. I love that you’ve got loads of exciting things to look forward too - they sound great and I hope they’ll be a welcome distraction for you.

LA9610 · 19/11/2021 07:41

That should say next FW that OH is here for... he will completely miss the one that starts next weekend.

LA9610 · 19/11/2021 07:39

@Amy259 amazing news! Will be starting to feel a bit more real for you now.

My cramps were a lot better yesterday and less bloating. Emotionally I was really down but I spoke to OH at lunch time and had a cry and after that I was better. Even did a workout late afternoon and my mood really lifted after that. I dont really have any tips for anxiety either, mine seems to have days where I'm a wreck but other days I'm completely fine. Not sure if I just drank too much coffee on Wed in the office because I know you are meant to avoid coffee really (for anxiety and TTC) but I don't because I usually only have one double shot a day anyway but I had at least 3 Costa coffees πŸ™ˆ

Because I barely slept Wed night, I slept 9.5 hrs last night straight through so I just did a test because I knew the urine would be concentrated enough and BFN. So I'm writing this month off now.... I've a lot to look forward to with a weekend to Manchester next week, works Christmas night out early Dec and a trip to Krakow right before Christmas so at least I can enjoy all of that, have a drink when I want to and not be worrying about something going wrong.

Next FW starts 23rd December and OH goes away on the 28th so let's pray Santa is bringing me a really special present on Christmas night πŸ˜‚πŸŽ…

Amy259 · 18/11/2021 20:58

Hi ladies, just a little message to say everything went well with the scan. Measuring a bit ahead at 8+5 (ov puts me at 8+1) with a heartbeat and two arms and two little legs. Thank you for all your lovely well wishes today! β™₯️

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 15:25

@Tinkerbell098 I'm in N. Ireland so think we are quite a bit behind mainland UK! I also had to wait 9 weeks for my private appt which is not normal, they're just so under pressureπŸ™ˆ

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 14:49

@xoJellyBean sorry was typing too fast. I meant which area are you as 18-24 months sounds crazy!

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 14:49

@xoJellyBean 18-24 months? which are are you? How long did you have to wait to be seen when you went private? was it pretty much immediate?

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 14:30

@Tinkerbell098 it defo felt more reassuring going private and getting a quick appointment. If you can do it I highly recommend. I was told 18-24 months waiting list πŸ™ƒ I would go crazy! I really wish receptionists could speak to the doctors before they tell us everything is 'fine'! No problem at all, most private hospitals/clinics will also have their pricing online which is so helpful

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 13:37

@xoJellyBean I'm in Leicestershire. My GP said they've got a massive backlog to clear due to covid. So I think we are going private if we don't hear anything in January. At least to get some scans done and know what the problem is. When they did my bloods in July, the receptionist told me the same thing - "all ok, no further action", but when I managed to get a detailed report, it showed abnormal prolactin, which is how I managed to get my GP to refer me to the clinic. I've only used OPKs in two cycles and they both showed positive around the same time I thought I would. So I stopped using them. I'm going to start using them again from next year (I've given up for the rest of the year as can't bear it anymore). I've never tracked BBT, so probably something I will try from Jan. Thanks for letting me know how much it'll roughly cost, time to start saving money I guess! Hope I'll get somewhere with it.

xoJellyBean · 18/11/2021 13:19

@Tinkerbell098 My letter took months as well! Started to think I wasn't referred 🀣 where do you live? I have been using OPKs and temping since forever so was able to see ovulation each month. The last 5-6 months I've had nothing, no temp rise/no peak OPKs😭 my GP did bloods at the start of the year but the receptionist said 'everything is fine' i rang back a few months later to ask the specifics and they actually were not fine, I couldn't wait any longer so that's why I've gone private. Do you temp or use OPKs? ☺️ I paid £280 for the initial consultation and an internal scan.

Tinkerbell098 · 18/11/2021 12:18

@xoJellyBean Sorry to hear that, but glad they found something so they can target the treatment. Good you went private before it's too late. I've only just gotten a letter from the NHS clinic to confirm the referral (GP referred me over three months ago!) and to say I'm on their waiting list (which can take up to a year!). We are also considering going private from next year. Did you know you were not ovulating? Is it because you didn't get a positive on OPKs? I've always wondered if I ovulate.

@Amy259 good luck for the scan today, let us know how it goes lovely xx
