Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

@xoJellyBean I'm so sorry to hear! Hope you are holding up ok. I suppose it's good they caught it now and hope they can safely treat it and you can TTC soon. Lots of hugs to you xx

AZ1992X · 03/12/2021 08:37

@HopefulGlow Your absolutely right, it will make it that more special knowing what we’ve been through to get there and you’re right I don’t think we’ll ever forget our journey. ❀️

I’m doing ok thank you, I’ve got a long weekend off work starting today and plan on putting the tree up and going Christmas shopping.

Glad you’re getting in the Christmas spirit too πŸŽ„β›„οΈ

Xx.

HopefulGlow · 02/12/2021 08:27

@xoJellyBean oh my goodness I’m so sorry! How are you feeling?? Did they say what they will do?

I’m really hoping they can safely remove the tumor and you can continue TTC when you’ve healed. Your head must be all over the place right now. Sending lots of positivity πŸ’•

@AZ1992X thank you! I just feel so negative and I’m usually such a positive person. I just don’t want to get too positive about a BFP just to be disappointed again when AF comes. It gets tiring doesn’t it!

My OH says will it matter about our journey when we finally get there? And I know he’s right, but I know it will make us more thankful to have what we’ve been fighting for for so long πŸ₯° I will never forget this journey!!

How are you doing this week? Are you feeling any more festive? Our decorations are going up on Saturday and I’m just about to wash all of our Christmas clothes haha so I’m trying to get that festive cheer brewing πŸ˜‚πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸŽ„πŸŽ‰

@xoJellyBean I’m so sorry to hear that and you’ve been asked to stop TTC.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed you get some answers and discussions around next steps after your tests next week.

❀️

AZ1992X · 02/12/2021 08:16

Hi @HopefulGlow,

Glad you had a lovely weekend with family but so sorry AF showed up.

Im glad your OH has been very supportive of you and positive - he sounds great.

I know how hard it can be to try and remain positive when it’s all that you want and think about and with each cycle it just gets harder. If you feel talking to someone would be good for your health then absolutely reach out. There’s nothing bad that can come from asking for help ❀️, Also know we’re always here too.

I agree and think that mindset does play a part - when I felt/feel like that I kept thinking of this group and how many people went on to get got their bfp even after trying for so long so try and cling onto that.

Sorry that the GP got it wrong about the SA, very annoying especially when you thought it would be coming imminently.

P.s please don’t apologise for the rant - always happy to listen. ❀️

xoJellyBean · 01/12/2021 20:36

Hello ladies. Wee update from me, my scans have shown up at tumour on my womb unfortunately. More tests to follow next week but I've been advised to stop TTC as it's too risky πŸ’”πŸ’”

HopefulGlow · 30/11/2021 08:46

Morning all!

I’ve had a great weekend really, lovely time spent with family. AF came early on Saturday afternoon and it just broke me. I managed to keep it together at my family do, then spent all night crying.

I’m just fed up, broken and useless. Then I get angry at myself for feeling like that. I get more annoyed for being upset that my OH never had this problem before, so I must be the problem. Then I get even angrier that they didn’t even plan or try for their 2 babies and were blessed with them!! I know it’s not his fault and he can’t help it, but it still makes me angry and bitter I suppose.

He’s been so supportive and positive and wants me to be the same. He’s convinced it will happen, he’s convinced we will be pregnant at some point in the future and I just feel miserable for doubting it and never feeling like it’s going to happen. I don’t know if I need to speak to someone about it, because it’s not his fault he’s got DC but it honestly hurts sometimes. I feel broken and there must be something wrong with me, because he’s done it before. 😩

Gosh, sorry for the absolute miserable rant on a Tuesday morning. I’m just going to try hard to try and be positive, and imagine it happening. But I don’t want to let myself get my hopes up, just to be shattered again. But I’m a massive believer in your mind being a powerful thing?! So how the hell do we balance this all ladies?!

To top it all off, his doctor got the wrong end of the stick, the next SA is in March!!! πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ they didn’t realise the wait was so long πŸ™„ so it sounds about right, I did think only a week was way to quickly!

Anyway, enough of me being miserable and bringing you all down.

How is everyone? Sorry I just dipped out for the weekend. I was trying so hard to figure my head out and try it I work out a way I can move forward.

Morning ladies,

Hope everyone’s doing ok and had a nice weekend?

I went out with family for a few drinks and an Indian. Haven’t had a drink in months and I think it was much needed!

@HopefulGlow How are you doing?

Also great news on the SA, it’s great you haven’t had to wait long for that.

Yes, I managed to get an appointment but it’s not till mid December. That seems forever away now but sure it will come around pretty quick.

@Amy259 I’m glad the tablets have helped a little. ❀️

I think I’m leaning towards trying this cycle, OH is keen too, trying to not put much pressure on it - the less stress the better.

@User1400 I’m sorry AF arrived for you, I feel it’s even harder the cycles where there was nothing more you could do. Hope you’re taking some time for yourself ❀️

@LA9610 It’s nice to hear from you but sorry to hear work is pretty stressful. I hope you’re taking some time still at weekends to relax/unwind?

LA9610 · 29/11/2021 21:20

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing well!

Haven't checked this thread recently as to be honest I've just been so busy. Work is mental at the moment and im stressed as hell but I won't be trying again for another 3 weeks anyway so not worried about it. Also I've recently discovered from the BFN podcast that unless stress is making you have sex less then there's little to no evidence that it actually affects fertility - hearing that instantly made me feel a bit more relaxed because I have a pretty stressful job/life in general.

@HopefulGlow great news about the SA! Where are you based again that seems so quick. OH has been waiting since August now to try and get his.

@User1400, I kind of feel the same and I don't think I will post anything online. I've actually not posted anything online in over a year anyway, I try to stay away from socials as much as possible as it really doesn't do much good for my mental health. I think your friend could have given you a warning if she knows what you are going through and I think your feelings are valid.

Amy259 · 27/11/2021 19:21

@AZ1992X ahh that’s rubbish that you need to wait until 16th Dec, but hopefully he’s just as helpful this time.

That’s such a tough call, I think I’d feel super similar - I’d worry about regretting not trying but then a month without a tww would maybe be a welcome break? Hopefully you’ll feel yourself leaning towards one side the closer to ovulation you get?

The tablets have definitely taken the edge off, thank you!

@HopefulGlow brilliant news about the SA, and excellent timing that the no sex falls when it doesn’t count anyway πŸ˜‚ good luck to your OH with the whole experience haha!

I’m glad you have a busy weekend to keep you distracted, but I’m staying hopeful that af stays well away for you 🀞🏻β™₯️

@User1400 I agree about liking the ones that put a wee nod to struggles, I’m just not sure what to say that’s short and sweet and not too much? With your friend, I think most people would definitely feel hurt that she didn’t pre-warn. She must’ve just not been thinking, I’m sure she didn’t mean to add to your pain but it’s rubbishy β™₯️
Aw I’m so sorry, cuddles with OH and a good cry sounds like a great plan. Maybe you’ll feel a bit more Christmassy in the morning and have a tree day! That’s next weekend for us I think, my DH is determined we wait until December haha xxx

User1400 · 27/11/2021 18:58

@xoJellyBean thank you ❀️ I feel the same about about birth announcements.. once I've gotten over the 'sting' of the initial announcement I tend to put it out of my mind that there will be an actual baby coming. I often think 'as long as im pregnant by the time their baby is here!'.. which just adds to the disappointment. It's a horrible feeling as it's such a joyous occasion, but we can't help our emotions ❀️.

@amy259 I can see your point too, about wanting to put it all behind you and not letting the struggle taint your future.. I feel like that too, that I just hope I can get pregnant and put all of this behind me but honestly I feel like this journey is part of me now.. I think if I were to announce online I would acknowledge that it's not been an easy ride, I think that has been something that's helped me , when I've seen announcements that have a nod to couples who are struggling. So yeah I think the acknowledgment from my friend would have gone a long way but your right that I can't expect others to manage my emotions, I think I'm just upset that she's pregnant and I'm not, which isn't fair to put on her really.

Thanks @HopefulGlow, don't worry at all about upsetting me, I am asking for your opinions and so I am welcome of them πŸ₯°. As I said above to @Amy259, if I'm being honest with myself, I'm just upset that she's pregnant and I'm not, which isn't fair of me to put my expectations on her.

How is everyone's weekend going? I was planning on putting up my Christmas tree up today but AF arrived so I've just been feeling sorry for myself really 😭. Had a cry and a cuddle with OH, we DTD 7 days in a row this month (which is unheard of for us!) so it just feels even more disappointing.. and we're out for a Christmas BFP 😣. Xxx

xoJellyBean · 27/11/2021 11:56

@HopefulGlow hopefully af stays away for you!! Have everything crossed 🀞🏻✨

HopefulGlow · 27/11/2021 09:08

@Tinkerbell098 your bloods experience sounds awful!! Hopefully it wasn’t to painful and they got enough for what they need.

@User1400 we all need some time off sometimes. It can all get too much, so don’t worry.

I think it’s hard about the announcements because I do get what you’re saying. It hurts so much but I would hate to think someone else is dulling their excitement because of me. As she is such a close friend, I would have hoped she would have thought of you and let you know in advance, at least so you could try and prepare.

I think the hardest thing for us to get our head around, is even though people may not have struggled like us, it doesn’t stop their joy and love and finding out the exciting news.

I think I would post my announcement, mainly because I have only close friends and family on my socials. I haven’t told anyone about our struggles, I don’t know if I will. Now whenever I see someone post a pregnancy, I have to try and remind myself I have no idea of their journey.

I hope that’s okay and I haven’t upset you too much. I completely understand where you’re coming from but please don’t think about shrinking this experience for yourself, worrying about others.

@Amy259 I’m feeling better now thanks! It’s just been a crazy week so looking forward to a nice weekend now. AND ITS SNOWED!!! So I’m super happy πŸ˜‚ how are you feeling?

@AZ1992X so glad you got your cuddles, but I’m so sorry you had a big cry! I can’t imagine all the things you were feeling ❀️❀️

Did you manage to get through to the doctors? I hope they can help you soon ❀️

Due on my period tomorrow ladies and apart from feeling a little rough and tired this week, I think due to stress, I’m out this month. No signs and I feel nothing 😩

OH has his SA on Tuesday morning, I was shocked at how quick it was for us to get in! So now we can’t even have sex for 3 day!! πŸ˜‚

I have another busy weekend so hopefully that will keep me occupied and minimal tears. I would like to stop crying about TTC now. 😣 βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

AZ1992X · 26/11/2021 13:00

@Amy259 I got through but it’s not till 16 December, I asked for the same GP that I spoke too as he knows the story and was helpful last time.

Not yet it’ll probably be next week I would be due ovulation so I’ll keep an eye on symptoms. Not sure if I’ll bother doing opks yet - still haven’t decided if to try. Part of me wants a break but I keep thinking I’ll regret having a cycle off so I’m torn.

Aww sorry you’re still feeling awful, hopefully the tablets will help you a little 🀞🀞 x

Amy259 · 26/11/2021 11:35

@AZ1992X yeah it’s great news, the whole waiting until 3 thing is a bit barbaric! Hopefully you will be offered a really early scan then onto the progesterone 🀞🏻 Did you manage to get through to the doctor this morning?

Are you far enough on in this cycle to know if you’re ovulation has been affected this month?

Sadly not, feeling absolutely rotten. Have the cold just now too which isn’t helping! My midwife told me to phone the doctor so picking up an anti-sickness prescription this afternoon 🀞🏻 My wonderful DH tells me I look like shit! πŸ˜‚

Tinkerbell098 · 26/11/2021 08:46

@xoJellyBean they wanted to check for diabetes, cholesterol, prolactin (as the previous Day21 test showed elevated levels), SHBG and testosterone.

AZ1992X · 25/11/2021 19:45

Evening ladies!

I’m not doing too bad thank you, it’s been a busy week at work and I’ve definitely welcomed the distraction. I’m off out Saturday for a drink/meal for birthday celebrations which I’m looking forward too.

@Amy259 I know I cannot believe it’s only a month away! πŸŽ„β›„οΈ I’m so excited, been ramping up my Christmas shopping too whilst all the sales are on.

I didn’t know about that and have just been looking at all the articles etc.. that’s great isn’t it!
Hopefully next time I’ll be offered it - I did see on one article that they have to confirm the pregnancy by scan but you’d have it up to 16 weeks.

How are you doing? , are you feeling any better at all?

@xoJellyBean Thank you ❀️, I’m glad to hear your scan went well and it won’t be long till you get your results.

@HopefulGlow Thank you ❀️, you’ve all been so supportive - it means a lot.

How are you doing??

I finally decided to call the doctors this evening to only get the we are closed message when they should still be open. Sums my luck up! Will try again tomorrow but it’s normally a few week wait for none urgent appointments.

We’re both doing ok thank you, he’s been supportive as always. When it happened I thought I was ok and then ended up going upstairs and just crying my eyes out and he just hugged my tight and I immediately felt better.

Sometimes a good cry is just what you need, it can be very overwhelming ❀️
& I would defo have felt frustrated if I dreamt that too!

Xx

Amy259 · 25/11/2021 18:50

Hi ladies, I hope you’re all keeping well and getting excited for Christmas - howwww is it one month today?!

@HopefulGlow ahh amazing about the house, fingers crossed it’s all smooth sailing from here!

Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling rotten, are you feeling any better now?

@AZ1992X how are you doing? β™₯️ Have you seen the NICE guidelines have been updated regarding progesterone? Now any woman who has had one miscarriage (versus 3 before!) should be considered for/given progesterone suppositories in her next pregnancy. It was in the news this week as a huge breakthrough for women’s health, you’ve prob already seen it but just in case you hadn’t.

@xoJellyBean glad the scan went well! 🀞🏻 all is well and you can crack on with clomid soon!! I’ll keep an eye out for your updates.

@Tinkerbell098 that blood taking experience does not sound fun! I’m not really a queasy person but I think someone poking around too much would be a bit much for me!! Hopefully she got enough πŸ™ˆ

@User1400 ahh I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through that today πŸ’”

So I feel pretty torn about announcements really, In general, I think of it as I can’t expect others to manage my emotions - like if there was something/someone on insta or fb that made me feel down about myself (in any way, not just ttc) I feel that’s for me to manage and unfollow or whatever, not them to change/manage themselves based on just me - does that make sense?? And I think it’s a lot to ask that people don’t share their joy if they want to?

BUT I think in this case, if I knew my best friend was struggling with TTC, I would’ve 100% messaged you to pre-warn so you could use the β€œsnooze for 30 days” feature on fb so you didn’t need to see it. She didn’t give you the chance to protect your heart from it, and I would feel hurt by that too β™₯️

I’m not sure what we’ll do yet - when ttc I would’ve probably said we wouldn’t post it, but I do flip between now. Ttc took away all the joy of trying, so I’d quite like to feel just normal now and do all the normal pregnant couple things like posting a cute announcement photo, and not have our journey so far taint any more of it, but I don’t know. If we do put it online, I would maybe put something at the end acknowledging it all, but I just don’t know. It’s a really tricky one!

xoJellyBean · 25/11/2021 17:33

@HopefulGlow I think once you hit 6 months of trying and getting negative tests it just get worse πŸ™ˆ plus we are technically saving money 🀣 I'm hoping to get a copy of my scans, I find it soo interesting and I'm seriously considering a change in career to radiography πŸ™ƒ how's your day going? Any symptom spotting?πŸ‘€

@Tinkerbell098 thank you πŸ₯° do you know which blood tests they are doing? Mine were the SHGB, testosterone and also androgens! Hopefully they've got enough blood 🀞🏻

@User1400 sorry to hear about how you're feeling. It's completely valid! I have a new baby nephew and I still cried bucket loads when he was born even after knowing this day was coming the last few months.
I totally agree with you about announcements on social media, it can be so distressing for people. I've cried at all recent announcements... TTC can be such a lonely journey. Hope you're ok🀍

User1400 · 25/11/2021 12:32

Hi girls, how have you all been? Sorry I've been quiet, been trying to take some time off mentally but the TWW is getting to me🀣. I haven't managed to catch up on all the messages but hopefully you girls can keep me right.

I mentioned on the last thread that my best friend is pregnant, well today she announced it on Facebook and I'm feeling quite hurt.. am I being too sensitive? I am heartbroken seeing the scan pics and the comments of congratulations pouring in. I feel so silly to be trying control her happiness, or to be telling her how she should be navigating her pregnancy. Perhaps @amy259 has a different perspective, given you have been on both sides of the coin? Personally, (if I'm lucky enough to get there!) I won't announce on social media, purely because I know how distressing I have found announcements, and I don't want to think I would contribute to anyone feeling that way.

I'm trying to keep my mind off of TTC and subsequently I am pulling away from pregnant friends (which I have a lot of!) in turn, making my world very small. I've been finding things a bit easier by doing this until something crops up, usually online, and I feel the emotions flooding back alongside an overwhelming feeling that I'm burying my head in the sand. I know my pregnant friends aren't doing anything 'to' me. I'm just finding it all so hard to be around 😭. Xx

Tinkerbell098 · 25/11/2021 09:22

@xoJellyBean glad the scan went well and you'll hear back next week. That's so quick! I think going private was a great decision. I was in for a blood test yesterday as they wanted to test for PCOS but the nurse was unable to get much blood out of me!! She said I had tiny veins and cold hands so kept prodding in few different places and still couldn't get enough. Nightmare! She said they'll try to test with the amount they got, if not, will have to come back in a couple of weeks. Oh well!

HopefulGlow · 25/11/2021 09:06

@xoJellyBean work always ruins it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Same!! I have one FRER and one digital and loads of cheap strip ones I got with my LH kit. I found a couple of videos the other day from my first few months of testing, it broke my heart seeing my face get more disappointed as I did another month.

So for me, I just try and manage my disappointment with AF instead. πŸ˜…

So glad the scan went well, hopefully they won’t be too long with your results. But with it being private they will probably talk to you more in depth about it too 😁 βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

OP posts:

@Tinkerbell098 thank you πŸ₯° I feel much better for going private and I'm thankful I can. The guy in before me told me he's been waiting 1 year & 7 months for his NHS scan and has had enough! How's your day been?

@HopefulGlow it went well until I went to work on Monday 🀣🀣
I'm the same as you with testing! A negative test has become worse than getting AF for me. I've got 1 pack of FRER's in the house and will only use if I'm almost sure I am pregnant lol if I start clomid I'll see how I feel and start testing and will record too 🀞🏻

Scan went well, glad it's over. Will know my results in a week!

HopefulGlow · 24/11/2021 13:06

@xoJellyBean haha how did ridding yourself of stress go? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I was like that too before my test! Luckily they let my OH come in the room with me, it was just weird haha I’m really hoping everything goes well for you and they give you some answers!

I’m the odd one out here I think. I won’t test πŸ˜‚ unless I’m late. My periods are usually bang on time, and recently have been first thing in the morning too.

I used to test but it got too much seeing negative tests all the time. I used to record it too, but again, it got too much.

@xoJellyBean good luck for the scan. Keep us updated on how it goes. Definitely a good decision to go private (I know it hurts when you see the bill), as I am still waiting for my scans which were ordered months ago. At least it'll get you somewhere and you'll know what the next steps are.
