Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

@LA9610 Thank you!

OH said he could see it too but if I’m honest I find it hard to believe.

After two losses last year I just think the worst and think it may just be a chemical or it won’t work out. I’m trying to be positive but it’s hard.

LA9610 · 19/01/2022 08:51

@AZ1992X

Morning ladies,

AF due today, I gave in and tested and think my eyes are playing tricks on me as if I squint I feel I can just see a line but I bet it isn’t and AF arrives later.

Ahh got my fingers crossed for you!! If you think you can see something then it is probably there?!
LA9610 · 19/01/2022 08:49

@apwilso - my husband works away too - he is offshore. I've had all the tests and there is nothing obviously wrong with me (DH is awaiting semen analysis test in Feb but not expecting that there are any issues there either). So it could just be a case of timing for us too but there have been lots of months where he has been home at the right times and still nothing. My sister took 6 years to conceive her first and neither of them worked away so i've always got that in the back of my head too!

apwilso · 18/01/2022 21:20

@Fra1991 might as well. That's what we think ours is mistiming my boyfriend wants to give it till April till we go doctors in the hope something happens but not sure

apwilso · 18/01/2022 21:19

@LA9610 exactly. Going to book in I think. I think with me and my boyfriend it's bad timing because he works away

Fra1991 · 18/01/2022 19:21

Hi πŸ‘‹
@HopefulGlow I’m so sorry about AF, I was reading through catching up and was really hopeful for you. I hope you are doing ok and allow yourself to be sad and then it’s your chance to go again! I had a wee cry at work when my friend texted me - they hadn’t planned to start trying til later this year they just mistimed it!! But I’m normally most down when I get the spotting because I know af is coming but I’m not on my new cycle.
@AZ1992X thanks for the kind words - I understand taking a step back hope you e been ok, where are you on your cycle? Sorry if you’ve said I get confused with everyone on here when I leave it too long.
@Lauralozzle hope you had a lovely birthday, curry sounds fab! I knkw what you mean about feeling the calories - I felt like that after xmas because I was so used to being constantly full!

@apwilson so sorry you’ve had a tough year of it, it is good to come on here and talk to people in the same situation - sometimes I feel like other people think I’m just doing something wrong like mistiming jt or whatever and that can be hard. In terms of the nhs I would just go - just getting an appointment these days can take you into your next cycle.

After saying I wouldn’t do ovulation tests this months I thofuht u may aswell finish the kit I had so got a flashing smiley face today. I also bought a fertilily cup does anyone else use one?? Xx

LA9610 · 18/01/2022 16:51

@HopefulGlow, so sorry to hear about AF arriving and being particularly cruel this month :( Because I was catching up on the messages I was so hoping that there was going to be a BFP coming from you!

I had a cruel cycle like that back in August or something , I think AF came CD 29 which is not particularly late but i'm always CD25/26 and I was literally convinced that must be my month. I think that was really when I stopped symptom checking to be honest, now I know for sure that all the symptoms I get are just signs that AF is coming and I just stopped trying to convince myself otherwise on a monthly basis.

Yeah, pleased he got his appointment through! I think that was a 5 month wait from referral to the appointment date but it's actually passed really quickly and doesn't feel like that's another half year gone...yikes! It's also weird to think that if we don't get pregnant soon we will be put on the IVF waiting list THIS year. That seemed so far off only a few months ago and it's still ages to wait really but I feel like the months just fly by to be honest.

Yeah I think it may be our ages and also the challenges that TTC brings that make work that much more of a chore :/

@apwilso welcome and sorry to hear about AF arriving for you too :( I would definitely speak to your GP soon just because from what I have seen, once you do that it's just a lot of waiting so if you can get ahead of that somewhat then it can't hurt!

@AZ1992X nice to see you back and I agree sometimes just taking a step back and not thinking so much about TTC definitely helps the mental health (even though it's always at the back of your mind somewhere).

Hope everyone is having a nice week!

apwilso · 18/01/2022 08:39

Unfortunately it looks like AF is here absolutely gutted!

AZ1992X · 18/01/2022 08:12

@apwilso keeping my fingers crossed it is a line 🀞

AZ1992X · 18/01/2022 08:10

Morning all!

@HopefulGlow agree, I’d be the same and cry with them and that sounds awful - there’s no need to be rude especially around fertility issues. I think I would of complained too.

Will do & I normally just go round a local country park or sometimes we go around the Peak District as it’s not too far away.

So sorry AF arrived for you. ❀️

@xoJellyBean glad you finally got your peak!

apwilso · 17/01/2022 20:55

On CD34/13dpo had extremely light spotting when j wipe so think AF is coming. Tests are negative so think I'm out! Think I can see a faint line on a cheapie but think it's wishful thinking

Lauralozzle · 17/01/2022 19:49

@HopefulGlow I’m sorry AF came 😒

@xoJellyBean you and me both got our peaks today. Finally! I bet you were pulling your hair out not getting it until CD32!

I’ve been really strict with food today. Im not satisfied, but I’ve eaten enough and need to keep the calories somewhat low to make up for the weekend. After spending past two days eating way over 2,000 calories I’m feeling the deficit today! Ha.

Got my peak this morning, so just a waiting game now for my temp to rise before I’m in the 2WW. Also dropped off the chlamydia swab today at the doctors so that’s everything they need for the referral. Now it’s just a waiting game.

xoJellyBean · 17/01/2022 19:24

Finally on CD32 I got my peak! 🀣πŸ₯³

Happy Monday ladies x

apwilso · 17/01/2022 10:53

@Lauralozzle if I'm
Not pregnant this month I might them ago!

@HopefulGlow wow! I'll have to see what mine say. If I'm not pregnant this cycle then I'll be giving it ago!

HopefulGlow · 17/01/2022 09:47

@apwilso I think it depends on the area you’re in. I know some people who wait months for tests. My sisters friend who lives in a different area to us, didn’t even have to wait a full year before they got fertility help. It’s crazy!

That’s so good though, do you think you could work your way up to that again? At the first lockdown I got into a routine of doing yoga and Zumba on alternate days. Again I wasn’t really fit but I definitely think it helped and I felt good. I think now winter is coming to an end it should help us get back into the grove.

@Bundaberg84 ahhh I see, well hopefully you can get seen for fertility help sooner! I hate reading all the statistics, I know they should help but sometimes they just frustrate me!!

@AZ1992X
That’s the thing I don’t know how he does the hard part. Even if ladies come in with bleeding suspecting something is wrong. It doesn’t make it any easier, I would just cry with them and I know that’s not what they need. I’m so glad you had a lovely supportive Sonographer though, it’s so important.

My friend had a scan recently about her PCOS and the lady was incredibly rude. She felt so vulnerable and she ended up complaining about it. It’s so sad! I mean she isn’t in the UK but I just feel so bad for her that someone would be so rude in that line of work.

No worries about the videos, let me know if you try again. A nice long walk sounds lovely.where do you usually go?

Sadly I woke up at 5am needing a wee, thought I would save it and do a test with the OH when he woke up. But the dreaded wipe had blood!! So AF was super cruel this cycle. I’ve only ever had 1 cycle this length in the whole 18 cycles. What an absolute joke.

I cried myself back to sleep and im feeling ok now, maybe a little switched off/numb. But I’m not sobbing so that’s a bonus.

I hope everyone has a good day. Excuse me if I’m a little quiet now βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@Fra1991 I’m so sorry AF arrived, I hope you’ve taken some time for yourself and have treated yourself to something nice? I tend to order a takeaway the weekend it arrives and chill on the sofa. Mines due in the next few days.

Also sorry to hear you had an announcement from a friend at the same time that must have been even harder.

In terms of loosing weight agree with hopefulglow do it healthily i.e if you don’t normally exercise don’t go too hard and just do smaller low impact workouts/walking and focus on your diet. I put a few pounds on over lockdown and switched to Gousto and that’s really worked for me.

@xoJellyBean that must be really frustrating, I’ve had the odd month where I was convinced I wasn’t ovulating and it came very late. I hope you get answers one way or the other with either a positive opk or in the form of your AF.

@Lauralozzle hope you had a lovely birthday! It sounds like you’re not too far from me - I’m Notts based also. I’ve never been kayal - might be one to Add onto my list!

AZ1992X · 17/01/2022 07:51

Morning ladies!

I’ve been terrible at trying to keep up, if im honest I’ve taken a small step back and trying not to think about ttc as much as I used to and I feel so much more better mentally.

I hope everyone’s had a lovely weekend?

@HopefulGlow Thats one good thing that he can tell you about all those stories where they’ve gone on to have a successful pregnancy. I think that would help me. I remember seeing a guy when I had my scan and he was so comforting but felt awful telling me that I had MC.

Thanks - I’ll have a look into those videos. I either do walking or some workouts like legs, bums, tums or short hiit classes. I went for a long walk again yesterday and felt much better for going.

I’ve seen your AF didn’t arrive yesterday, keeping my fingers crossed it stays away for you.🀞

Lauralozzle · 16/01/2022 21:48

@apwilso I get on with them fine, I like the fact they use FMU so the testing is sorted in the morning. Using dip sticks like easy at home ones at work were a nightmare, I have an Amazon subscription for them so I don’t have to worry about going out. Don’t usually get 4 days of flashing smiley faces though, usually only get one lol!

Bundaberg84 · 16/01/2022 21:25

Thank you all for the warm welcome ❀️

@HopefulGlow thing is, as I only have one tube left, the chances to get pregnant each month are smaller. But it's hard to say; some women still get pregnant easily, others don't. I read somewhere that around 75% or more will be pregnant within 2 years. We'll see...

apwilso · 16/01/2022 20:31

@Lauralozzle thank you! Haven't used clearblue smileys in ages how do you find them x

Lauralozzle · 16/01/2022 20:04

@Tinkerbell098 I’m notts/derby based, they have a restaurant in Notts! Love Kayal, been a few times, it’s bloody lovely!

I could seriously eat curry everyday, not great on the old waist line though!

@apwilso welcome. Sorry to hear about your loss 😞

Well, had a lovely roast and baileys cake at my dads today. Day 4 of flashing smiley faces, I’m assuming peak is bound to come tomorrow! Weekend has gone really quick, don’t really want to get up early tomorrow for work but needs must. Planning to get back into running, so run planned for the morning before I start otherwise I’ll never get around to doing it!

Hope everyone has had a nice weekend so far.

apwilso · 16/01/2022 18:44

@HopefulGlow thank you. I'm glad with groups like this that everyone is so understanding and can help each other. That was my fear so I did tell myself if nothing by April go but might just go anyway to get ahead of things! What tests do they do first?

Before lockdown I was gym 5 days a week and eating well (don't get me wrong I wasn't like in the best shape but was in a good routine!) since then just lost all motivation etc! So we're back on it now.

@xoJellyBean wow that's a long time! I'm based Manchester so not sure what there timing is like. NHS let me down whilst I was having a miscarriage and disregarded me so I'm nervous to go back. That's our first initial step but maybe I would consider going private I just don't know where to start! I'm glad you got the diagnosis though even though it's PCOS you can figure out what would work for you now!

HopefulGlow · 16/01/2022 18:39

@xoJellyBean thank you!! I really hope so but I’m trying so hard not to get too excited or run away with myself.

They are lovely and it’s been good getting back into a routine now we can see them again. Thank you, it’s only been going on a year but it feels like forever.

Ah yes I have heard about that! I love Ricky Gervais so I might have to add that to my list.

I’m about to get in my comfies and watch some buffy πŸ˜‚ βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@HopefulGlow ahhh I really hope af stays away for you🀞🏻✨ imagine if this was it!! πŸ₯°

Awh they are lovely ages, im sure your had lots of fun! Hope the custody agreement goes smoothly but I'm sure you are eager for it to be finalised!

Afterlife is on Netflix, written by Ricky Gervais. It's dark comedy - quite sad in places though to be truthful 😭
