Hi all!

We were getting to the end of the previous thread, so thought it’s best to start a new one.

A quick catch up I think mainly everyone on the old thread is as 12 months + TTC.

Newbies are always welcome.

Just sharing our journeys, supporting each other when possible, and having somewhere to moan and let it all out

Hi all,

Hope you don’t mind me jumping in. We’ve just hit 12 months which feels like both an eternity and like it’s flown by! I actually turned 35 last week which both meant it’s dr time. Married my husband in July last year after many covid delays. Got my bloods next week and his SA in early March so not much to report yet. No snifter of a positive from me yet.

Tinkerbell098 · 25/01/2022 00:13

@LA9610 thanks. I’ll update you girls on how it goes. I’m just glad there’s some progress after months of waiting.

LA9610 · 24/01/2022 18:44

Thanks @Tinkerbell098! Definitely resting up today

I've had ultrasound done twice, the first was ordered by my GP and that was external. The sonographer basically said everything looked perfect but the consultant would review and confirm. The second time was on my first appointment at the sub-fertility clinic at the gynae ward at the hospital and that one was internal. Again, the consultant said there and then that everything looked absolutely fine! So they may do both or either or and will likely give you an indication on the day 😊 hope it all goes well! X

Tinkerbell098 · 24/01/2022 15:07

@LA9610 oh no! So sorry to hear you've caught it. It's everywhere at the moment. I had it last week. Hope you feel better soon. Yes, definitely take some time off work, you're definitely allowed and shouldn't feel bad about it.
In other news, I've finally had a letter through to say they've booked an ultrasound appointment for me, which is next Friday! That is some progress for me after months of waiting. Anyone had one done recently? Do they usually do both external and internal? How long does it take to get results or do they tell you if anything's wrong there and then?

LA9610 · 24/01/2022 09:21

@HopefulGlow yeah unfortunately I have Covid too and now I'm the one that feels worst. Told my boss I'm not working until I'm better as haven't had a sick day in over a year now, I never feel like I can just take time off and rest when WFH but I feel horrendous so decided to stand my ground this morning!

AZ1992X · 24/01/2022 08:03

@HopefulGlow how amazing would that be realising you’re much further ahead πŸ˜‚ defo wouldn’t happen to me though.

He’s very much like me - I can tell he’s trying to not get excited or think too far ahead. He told his dad both the times before and has said he won’t tell anyone until we know everything’s ok.

Thank you, I’m really hoping this is the one 🀞❀️

I’m keeping my fingers crossed it is over soon so it’s one less thing for you both to worry about.

Everyone’s been having curry recently! I hope the food was nice and glad you enjoyed the company.

That sounds like a plan - I had a tidy up day too yesterday and then just chilled on the sofa not doing too much πŸ˜‚. Not feeling work again today.

No need to apologise for moaning, we all have those weeks and it’s good to get it off your chest.

@apwilso how strange, yes maybe a normal test may answer the question?

Re kitchen it’s quite a big project so the house will be a complete building site for a few weeks/month or so. Knocking an internal wall down so it’s more open plan. Then new dark grey units/stone type worktops with solid wood flooring. OH is doing most of it so it’ll take longer than if we brought someone in but will save a fortune. X

apwilso · 23/01/2022 21:51

@AZ1992X love house renovations. What style do you think your going for? Glad your lines are darker!!! Great news x

@HopefulGlow that would be the goal! Just not knowing for a bit!!

I've been confused today so with this monitor I thought I'll double check I'm not pregnant and it refused the test because the fertility monitor tells you when to do ovulation test or pregnancy so I just looked and the section where the lines comes up and two lines have come up!? But then I'm reading somewhere else that two lines always come up. So now I'm confused so going to leave it and see if I can leave it a few more days for a normal test xx

HopefulGlow · 23/01/2022 11:01

@LA9610 oh no I’m so sorry to hear about about your DH! I hope he’s okay and your symptoms don’t worsen too!! Glad you still DTD though πŸ˜‚

Sounds like you both deserve a chilled weekend in, hope you can make the most of it 😊

@apwilso that sounds so good! You will have to let me know how it goes, I’m tempted to get something more accurate. But then I also think we DTD every day, especially over fertile week so surely I’m not missing it?? Haha but who bloody knows!!

My OH scanned a lady yesterday who thought she was 6 weeks and she was actually 13 weeks. She had some spotting and thought it was just a light period. I just think we are all so thorough and on it with periods and symptoms, I can’t imagine that happening to us?!

@AZ1992X so happy the lines are getting darker, it’s totally understandable that you’re still cautious though. How is the DH feeling?

You both deserve this so much and I’m just hoping and praying it continues to be positive for you ❀️

It’s horrible that even after a BFP the dreaded toilet visits are still full of anxiety.

Yeah it’s been so difficult but it’s so much easier than it was. It’s been almost a year now since it started and it’s been hard for them all. Going from sleepovers to not even allowed to see them in the blink of an eye?! It’s crazy!! Just looking forward to it being over because im sure that stress is not doing us any good either πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I ended up seeing some friends last night for A curry. It was nice to see them but I also had quite an anxious day so I feel drained today.

I’m going to do some cleaning today and put some music on to keep me busy 😁

I feel like I’ve moaned a lot this week haha sorry all!! I’m actually a positive person, haha honest!! βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

Morning ladies,

Hope everyone’s doing ok ❀️

@HopefulGlow It sounds like you’ve had a hectic week, no need to apologise for not responding. I hope you’re doing ok, cannot believe to imagine how hard it must be trying to go through all that just to try and see OH children.

Thanks for asking, I’m mixed emotions right now. Happy I’ve got another chance but equally anxious it’ll just be taken away at any moment. Every time I go to the toilet I almost expect to see blood.

Just taking it one day at a time - tests are getting darker which is a positive and I’m trying to hold onto that.

@apwilso I hope you had a nice evening, it’s lovely you still get together to celebrate. ❀️ Mines been a fairly chilled weekend on the sofa / planning our kitchen.

apwilso · 22/01/2022 20:00

@HopefulGlow it's a fertility monitor so can track your cycle and you have ovulation test which you put into the actual machine and it tells you if your peak, high or low which is better for me than guessing on easy at home. Also can put pregnant tests in again so I'm not assuming there's lines! Just got mine off eBay and I will see how it goes xxx

LA9610 · 22/01/2022 14:59

Well our weekend plans have been cancelled - DH tested positive on 2 LFD tests this morning! Mine was negative but both been for a PCR and my throat is starting to hurt now so I'm convinced I do have it. It's FW so we have been DTD (including 10 mins before he did his test but he didn't know he had it, we had just decided to test before seeing other people tonight) , I'd be amazed if I didn't 🀣

So a boring weekend in the house for us πŸ™„ hope you are all up to something more exciting!

HopefulGlow · 22/01/2022 13:46

@apwilso oooo what does the CB one do?

I use the fermometer app and LH strips to monitor mine πŸ˜βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

OP posts:
apwilso · 22/01/2022 12:43

@HopefulGlow I've just received in the post the CB fertility monitor (2nd hand but apparently never been used). It's a pricey monitor and tests but hopefully it can confirm better than easy at home guessing! I thought that with the fertility cup so I left it

Anyone else use/used fertility monitor?

HopefulGlow · 22/01/2022 10:38

Hi everyone!! I just wanted to pop on and say hello and sorry I’ve not replied.

It’s been another busy week at work and we have had another solicitors bill through for the on going custody β€˜battle’. 😩 my OH was quite down as it’s cost us so much to try and even see his children and the whole system seems totally unfair, I’m so shocked at the things that can be said with no evidence and the other party suffers as well as the children!

The big O is due a week today but I’m trying to stay relaxed and do what we usually do 😊

How is everyone doing?

@LA9610 sorry to hear about your nephew, I hope he’s okay! I also agree with what you said about drinking and such. We’ve said on here before how frustrating it is that drug abusers and alcoholics seem to get pregnant easily sometimes…of course the pregnancies usually aren’t healthy due to these things. But it’s frustrating when you’re doing everything and still nothing happens.

@AZ1992X how are you feeling? I hope you’re managing to keep somewhat relaxed and trying to be positive. I have no idea the amount of emotions you must be feeling right now πŸ’•

@apwilso I’ve read the reviews on boots for the cups but also if you read up on the average trajectory distance of sperm, they go pretty damn far πŸ˜‚ which usually means the strong ones get to where they need to be very quickly!

@Tinkerbell098
I take some women’s health probiotics after I was getting UTI’s and had BV once. That is no fun!! And I’m on 7seas trying for a baby vitamins. But I’ve been on those for about 7/8 months now haha πŸ˜‚ my OH had a whole male vitamin collection sent to him for a trial and he probably remembered to take them for about 2 weeks. Now they are in the cupboard so I might have to remind him or pack them in his lunch? πŸ˜‚ I did try to get him these men’s vitamins which help sperm count etc but he got them out the packet and they were giant poo pellets!! He couldn’t even put it in his mouth and I couldn’t stop laughing haha

I was also taking some Chinese medicine from my acupuncturist, but since I’ve moved I’ve not had a session and I’ve stopped taking them πŸ˜…

What’s everyone’s plans this weekend? βœ¨πŸ’•βœ¨

@AZ1992X my Nans heavenly birthday tonight so celebrating her life with the family. Other than that it's quiet! What about you?

@LA9610 I know it's difficult so hoping I can get him planned in ahahah! Wow that's crazy! That's what I think I genuinely don't think stuff matters that much because you see different ends of the spectrum getting pregnant where technically they shouldn't due to drink, drugs, weight etc so I think it's just being lucky at time!

My period has literally only lasted 2 days and was lighter than usual. Last time this happened i was pregnant the blood was heavier last time. So going to do a test over the weekend to confirm

AZ1992X · 21/01/2022 11:55

@xoJellyBean me too! I binged season one over Christmas/New year so am going to start season two. I’m so excited πŸ˜†

@LA9610 That sounds perfect. What are you thinking? My favourite is defo Chinese or a pizza.

That’s completely understand that he’s worried about his sister, I think I would be in that situation and he probably feels helpless. Hope everything works out well ❀️

xoJellyBean · 21/01/2022 11:42

@AZ1992X omg I'm loving Emily in Paris 🀣🀣

@Tinkerbell098 🀞🏻🀞🏻 I've been on it about a month now, got my hubby on it too. This company are UK based but I originally got it for £2 less so they keep upping the price!

Tinkerbell098 · 21/01/2022 10:20

@xoJellyBean thanks! They don't look too expensive. Solgar ones are ridiculous. I'll give them a go. Yes, I've heard it'll take about 3 months to work, but I've waited about 14 months, so 3 months seem nothing now.

LA9610 · 21/01/2022 09:58

@apwilso Ahh, three times is not really a lot so it could well be just a timing issue for you! Fingers crossed with you scheduling him to be at home it will only be a matter of time before you conceive now.

With my DH its typically one out of three cycles we will completely miss but then the other two he is usually here for all of the FW, but sometimes he will miss a day or two at the start or end.

Yes my sister did end up conceiving naturally after all that time, they started trying in her early twenties and it was unexplained infertility so because of their ages they were told just to keep trying. 1st pregnancy ended in miscarriage but then went on to have 2 boys 20 months apart. She always wanted to have lots of children but she has never used contraception since having my nephew 6 years ago and has just never fallen pregnant again in all that time! She is less than 2 years older than me so her story is quite scary for me as I am 10 years older than she was when she started trying - I just cant imagine nothing happening for another 4 or 5 years! But I also have 2 other sisters who have 5 children between them and neither of them had any fertility struggles and i'm one of 4 and my mum had 2 kids in her early twenties and then 2 more at 34 and 36, she never had any problems conceiving either. I think I am just unlucky to be honest, out of my whole family I am the healthiest - only one who has always been at a normal weight and have exercised regularly for the past 10 years, also definitely don't drink anywhere near as much alcohol. That's why I generally don't really believe that any of that stuff truly makes a difference unless you are drinking so much its causing you other health problems or you are so overweight for example that is also impacting your health.

@AZ1992X - we are going over to my sisters for a takeaway and drinks tomorrow but other than that will probably just try and get some walks in. My nephew had his surgery the other day and my husband is really down about that at the moment and worrying about his sister so he is not really in the best of moods this week! What are you planning?

AZ1992X · 21/01/2022 09:52

@xoJellyBean Dinner out sounds lovely, no plans here thinking maybe just a chilled weekend watching films / Emily in Paris πŸ˜‚ x.

xoJellyBean · 20/01/2022 23:00

Although it takes 3 months to be effective so maybe not worth it? X

@AZ1992X haven't got anything planned, maybe dinner somewhere! How about you xx

xoJellyBean · 20/01/2022 22:59

@Tinkerbell098 try this -

AZ1992X · 20/01/2022 19:12

Thanks @apwilso @xoJellyBean ❀️❀️

Does anyone have any nice plans for this weekend? X.

Tinkerbell098 · 20/01/2022 16:28

Do you girls know of any site where I could get CoQ10/ubiquinol at a reasonable price? Don’t want to spend too much on something that may or may not work especially as we are starting private fertility appointments from next month.

xoJellyBean · 20/01/2022 16:26

@AZ1992X amazing news and well deserved❀️ will keep everything crossed for you🀞🏻✨
