For the small group of ladies still here from the original February bus from 2020.

Maybe 2022 is when we finally get our babies?

@MrsTwentyNine 12-20 weeks is a massive wait! I will see what date i get given for my 20 but I might also book one half way through, just to break it up.
A boy! 💙🥳 Did you have a preference? My gut feeling is that mine will be a boy but I don't think we'll find out the gender. Let's see if I can hold off caving in. 🤣
I suppose once you start feeling it move, you'll know its still there. So possibly it's a bit less stressful. Until it doesn't move and you worry about that. 🙄🤣 The whole thing is one anxiety nightmare, isn't it. So much for just enjoying it. But fingers crossed 🤞🤞 for us all!

MrsTwentyNine · 03/01/2022 11:24

Ahh so nice to hear from you both!! @paintfairy how lovely to see the scan!! Hope you feel a bit reassured now. I think 12 week scan takes a lot of pressure off. You're nearly there! You both are 🙂

@MimiArm nothing wrong with weekly scans, anything to keep the anxiety at bay. I felt that they helped me too as I just couldn't wait between 12 --> 20 with nothing!

So excited for you both!! For us all!

It's a BOY by the way 💙 I was totally wrong ! Feeling a lot more real now! Got my 16 week appointment in a few days when I'll actually be 17 weeks according to the new dates they gave at 12! EDD is now 15/6/22. And then 20 week scan end of this month 🤞🏽Nausea has pretty much gone completely and now I'm just waiting around to feel some movement hopefully. Placenta is posterior so I'm hoping I can feel the kicks asap! People say that's when you start to relax more. We will see!!

paintfairy · 02/01/2022 14:42

Happy new year everyone! I'm glad everything is going OK. @MrsTwentyNine Exciting about the gender scan! 😁 Don't keep us in suspense!

I've had to just go back and see what i last wrote! A lot has happened since then. 🤣
I had my 8+1 scan at the ivf clinic and was measuring 8+3 and all fine, so I'm discharged out into the real world from there. I had my midwife booking appointment on 21 Dec which was just going through the motions. Following that I then received my 12 week scan date for 14th Jan (I'll be 12+4), and I have an appointment the following week with the consultant. So I guess that's when they'll decide if I'm consultant lead? @MimiArm It did freak me out slightly as to why i had an extra appointment, as you don't usually as far as I'm aware. But I asked a friend (who was ivf) and she said that's why. And they did terrify her at it, with stats.

Today I went for a private scan to check everything was OK and I'm measuring 2 days ahead still, so it's remained consistent. Baby was asleep and I had to move about to wake it up, much to its disgust! Symptoms come and go so it's nice to have reassurance that everything is OK.

MimiArm · 02/01/2022 13:23

@MrsTwentyNine Aw, that's great to hear. I'm sure you're very excited to find out the gender today!

I'm well - just have nausea most days, which seems to be worse in the evening time. And I feel really wiped out. I've been having weekly scans because I'm anxious and paranoid, but measuring perfectly each week (slightly ahead by a few days) and baby looks like a baby now! I've another scan on Wednesday, and I should be measuring 12 weeks then 😊

Don't worry about social media - here is fine 😊 I'm really pleased that everything is going well for you x

MrsTwentyNine · 02/01/2022 13:04

Hey @MimiArm !! I'm well thank you! Finding out the gender today, I'm 16+5. Very excited but also nervous! Nausea has gone (very randomly get it but temporary)

How are you? Not long till 12 week scan 🤞🏽 Hope you've been feeling alright so far! Sorry I'm not much of a social media person :( But hope you and @paintfairy are doing well!! Nearly the end of first trimester!! You've got this!!

Any news from @Juno231 ? Hope you're okay @Juno231 x

MimiArm · 02/01/2022 09:11

@MrsTwentyNine Hi 👋🏻 How are you? Did you have a nice Christmas and New Years?

How are you getting on? You must be getting close to 20 weeks now?

All good here - I'm 11 weeks now and still surviving 🙏🏻 Just waiting on NHS scan date, but they've said that it's likely to be during week 13. I've had private scans weekly though and everything is perfect so far.

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 18:21

@MimiArm I know! I guess it's because that's where you'll go for scans etc. But having not been to either (maternity wise) I'm not sure how you are meant to know.

I've felt down also. My rhr has dropped again. I also don't feel much. Although I have felt queasy this afternoon, but it's trapped wind. I get a really sharp pain if I've been sat and suddenly straighten up, I can't decide if that's related but it really hurts. I've not had cramping or anything though. I think sickness often starts around 8 weeks (not everyone gets it, don't forget!). But if it comes in time for Christmas, that'll be a delight. 🤣
I'll PM you.

MimiArm · 29/11/2021 18:11

@paintfairy That's so early to be making those decisions! I think I'll prob have every test going but that's just me.

That's good though that you have an appointment this side of Xmas. Of course over here we don't have any such thing as booking appointments (we really get screwed over IMO).

I presume you won't be opting for a home birth?! It's hard enough wrapping your head around being pregnant let alone having answers to those questions at this stage!

I'm in such a down mood today. I feel like I should be feeling sick by now and I'm just not. Yes, I have sore boobs and bloat, but that could be the progesterone I guess. Other than that, just a stitch pain in uterus when I move suddenly or roll over in bed (I had that last time too, and the only time I get that is when pregnant). But I feel like the lack of sickness is a bad thing?

I've set up a private fab group. Don't ask me how to invite you to it as I don't know haha. PM me your name and a guide to what your profile pic looks like and I'll try and send an invite to you? I've never done this before ...

paintfairy · 29/11/2021 17:54

@MimiArm I had my letter through with my first midwife appointment date - 21st Dec. Says I have to think about screening tests. Also where I want to have the baby (that sentence sounds ridiculous) because I have to choose this at the appointment, so they can refer me for my 12 week scan etc. So you can't exactly sit and ponder ages. I mean, I still can't decide what bedroom wardrobes I want? Let alone that! I can't really ask people either, as that would be weird since no one knows about it. I've googled a bit though.

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 21:04

@MimiArm it'll be interesting to see how they date you from the scans.

I would be happy to have a private fb group.

MimiArm · 28/11/2021 20:32

@paintfairy From what I hear, the worry never stops until baby is in your arms - then there's a new phase of worry after that. So ... buckle up 😂😂 and yes, it's very mad that we have due dates a day apart. If I go by LMP, my due date is the exact same as yours. My clinic used my supposed ovulation date though as day 14, which brings me a day forward.

Just a thought (and I'll not be offended if this suggestion is ignored) but given the four of us have been bonded together for so long on here now, maybe we should have our own private fb group? @MrsTwentyNine @Juno231 @paintfairy

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 13:16

Oh and clearly I mean people I don't really see, telling them late. Not the ones I see and they wonder why I'm like a blimp. 🤣 But I don't actually see many people that often.

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 13:11

@MrsTwentyNine ah you're back! I thought we'd lost you forever! And I can't believe you didn't tell us! That's brilliant news. We've all been here so long it seems like something needs to finally happen.
@MimiArm hilarious that if this works out for both of us that our due date is only 1 day apart. 🤣 Given how long we've been here.

I'm struggling with being tired. And I'm permanently starving. I've tried to switch off to everything else though. My scan is still over 2 weeks away and I need to just pretend nothing is happening until then, as I can't cope stressing every day. As it won't change anything anyway. But all these milestones you have to get to are very stressful! I don't want to tell people until quite late, but how late is acceptable? I thought the 20 week scan, if I can get away with it. Then saw one girl on the ivf fb group miscarried at 22 weeks. 🙈 It just never seems 'safe' to believe its OK?

MimiArm · 28/11/2021 08:11

@MrsTwentyNine I realised I said "9+1 is a very reassuring place to be" when of course I meant to write 11+1!

Thanks for the tips, one day at a time. I think having milestones is the best way to go. My upcoming milestones are 6 Dec (scan 1 at 7+1), 13 Dec (scan 2 at 8+1) and 22 Dec (scan 3 at 9+3). Those are to keep me sane over Xmas haha. I will then wait for my NHS scan after that.

Oh, I'm just so happy to hear from you and to hear your news!

MrsTwentyNine · 27/11/2021 20:47

@MimiArm Thank you!! I'm honestly over the moon for all of us...this is so special!!

Try not to think about the last time which is SO easily said. I had spotting around 7 weeks which I thought would be the end. I was so upset and had resigned myself to the fact that its headed the same way but there was this niggling optimism in the back of my mind that maybe this time feels different. The spotting carried on for a few days on and off actually whereas last time it was all sadly over within 48 hours. So I guess what made me mentally get through the past few weeks was just reassuring myself once I got past my own 6.5 weeks, that each day was a new day and things will be alright as I've gotten to this day...or this milestone etc. But I think the most reassuring thing was when I had my scan and saw a little bean...that was an out of world experience! Though as I type all this, I'm still anxious that things could still go wrong. Ahh but they say that is what the entire 9 months will be like ...:)

I didn't get any extra checkups etc offered after my m/c ...they just said it was natural and that was it. So no aspirin / progesterone! But I'm also on 5mg folic acid as I contacted my GP to say I'm a curvy girl too haha. In fact, I have gained a HUGE amount of weight in the first trimester as the only thing that kept my nausea at bay was EATING...so typical! But will worry about the weight if/when I'm fortunate to get to week 13...its what I tell myself. I'm glad you're being looked after by the private clinic - tbh the more things I take, I think I would have felt less anxious maybe as this time I was navigating it the same way as last time...sorry you had a diagnosis of PCOS :(

I hope the next 8 weeks fly by for you both!! Work is a good distraction, though I took a week off with my nausea/sickness at one point. Hoping you ladies don't experience it!! Just take it each day at a time. Thats all we can do

MimiArm · 27/11/2021 20:21

@MrsTwentyNine You're back!!! ❤️ and WOWSERS, 🎊🎊 congratulations!! That's made me smile so much, I'm so happy for you!

9+1 is a very reassuring place to be but I understand that you're anxiously waiting your next scan.

How have you been? I hoped you would come back when you were ready :-)

I'm plodding along, very anxiously waiting my early scan on 6 December. I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow, and I think this week will be tough for me as last time around, there was no development past 6+6. Deep breaths ...

Yes, 24 July for me and I believe 25 July for @paintfairy.

Have you been taking anything extra this time (progesterone or baby aspirin or anything)? I've got lots of extras ... we ended up going to a private clinic in ROI and they've thrown everything at me. Progesterone since trigger shot, baby aspirin and Clexane injections daily since positive test day. I've also been on Metformin for about 4/5 months now as I discovered I have PCOS in late summer.

How have you been mentally over the past 2 months? Any tips for the next load of weeks?

xx

MrsTwentyNine · 27/11/2021 19:15

Hello my lovely ladies

MimiArm · 27/11/2021 18:45

@paintfairy - from what I read, it's perfectly normal to not experience anything. My friend (also 40) is pregnant with twins after lots of recurrent miscarriages. She said she didn't have one single symptom until about 9/10 weeks. I find that reassuring as I'm almost wishing myself to feel sick!

paintfairy · 27/11/2021 18:39

@MimiArm no, nothing exciting. Not even cramps. Constipated, dark nipples, hungry, dry mouth. Oh and tired this last few days. But all easily overlooked if you weren't paying attention. My rhr has gone back up though. I do wonder if anything is happening being I can't feel anything. But I guess some people just don't feel things. 🤷‍♀️

MimiArm · 27/11/2021 18:35

@paintfairy How's it going? Any symptoms to report?

Nothing here - still just really sore boobs and twinges and light cramps in my uterus area. I was sooo tired yesterday but I think just because it was Friday. I feel fine today. I've only had very very mild nausea (and I'm not even 100% sure it's not just a sicky feeling when I'm hungry).

@Juno231 Have you started your trial cycle yet? What does that involve?

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 22:10

@MimiArm ah OK. Well I'm old. But maybe they just watch you carefully for any emerging issues, and if there are any, then you get a consultant? I'm a geriatric mother after all. (Have you seen Bridget Jones' baby? 🤣).
Some people take all sorts but I've got this far...... I dropped the ubiquinol after transfer, but I was taking that before. But read that you shouldn't after transfer. But I've ordered the pregnant version of pregnacare. I have forgot to take it odd days and then been annoyed at myself! 🤦‍♀️ I suppose it doesn't matter as long as you mostly take it.

MimiArm · 24/11/2021 14:13

@paintfairy Ah, no. You'll either be midwife led or consultant led. Probably midwife led if you've no other complications or anything.

I switched from pregnacare conception to pregnacare expecting (or whatever it's called). The post conception one should have everything you need all in the one tablet? I've assumed so anyways and am not taking any extra supplements (except I take 5mg folic acid on prescription cos I'm "curvy" 😂).

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 14:08

@MimiArm I've honestly no idea. I just assumed it was all midwife led. She just asked me everything over the phone and said I'll get an appointment letter through. I have no clue about any of this stuff. 🤣

I'm just on progesterone 3x day. And I've carried on taking my pregnacare conception. But I've realised today I probably should be taking omega 3 too. So I've ordered the pregnacare max, along with extra vit D. I tend to sporadically take extra D and C.

MimiArm · 24/11/2021 14:04

@paintfairy It's the same process here. I've sent off my self referral form today actually as it takes them an age to process them.

Do you think you will be midwife led or consultant led?

I'm fairly sure I'll be high risk and so consultant led (because I'm "geriatric", I've a history of blood clots and I'm prob at high risk for gestational diabetes thanks to the PCOS).

I feel like I take so many meds a day. Metformin x 3, Cyclogest x 2, baby aspirin x 1, Clexane injection x 1 and pregnacare x 1.

What are you currently taking?

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 13:54

@MimiArm so, apparently here (every GP seems different) you just self refer to the midwife team. I called today and gave my info and she said you'll get a letter in the post. Thought I'd better not leave it with Xmas being in the middle of everything, but it seems so early to be telling them!
