For the small group of ladies still here from the original February bus from 2020.

Maybe 2022 is when we finally get our babies?

@MrsTwentyNine @paintfairy @Juno231

Drumroll ......

We are having a BOY! You were right @MrsTwentyNine !!

MrsTwentyNine · 02/02/2022 21:03

Haha @paintfairy how exciting! Feb 12 is round the corner!!

@MimiArm good luck with gender scan!! I predict a boy 😝

And fab idea about nappies! I may start that trend too...

paintfairy · 02/02/2022 18:50

I've caved and booked a gender scan. 🙈🤣 12th Feb.

paintfairy · 01/02/2022 16:13

@MimiArm 🤣 That's what I was thinking. You might have a 10lb baby. 🤭 I better bloody not do. 😫

MimiArm · 01/02/2022 14:45

@paintfairy I've got one pack of size 0 (newborn small baby) - I'll get another at that size then work up to bigger sizes haha. I'm only getting a few packs in the really small size in case they are wasted 😂

I just have it in my head that because I'm small (5 foot), my baby will be a small one. Probably end up with a turkey!

paintfairy · 01/02/2022 14:14

@MimiArm 🤣 What if they end up being the wrong size? 🤔
@Juno231 have they? God. Baby events everywhere! 🙈🤣

Juno231 · 01/02/2022 14:10

@MrsTwentyNine I've got my 12 week scan on Friday so will probably book myself into bump & baby classes this weekend (instead of NCT). OH gifted me a whole bunch of pre natal yoga and Pilates classes as well so hopefully I'll make some friends there too!

As for buying stuff - I've bought a pregnancy pillow, two Christmas outfits I got in the sales and a bit like @MimiArm i walked into Sainsbury's yesterday and realised there was a baby event on and somehow walked out with a pack of newborn nappies as they were a really good price 😂.

I'm lucky though in that I think I'll be gifted a lot of baby stuff by friends so I don't want to buy anything I could have gotten for free lol.

@paintfairy We have our names picked out for over 2 years (since we started trying). Thought that time, anytime we've spoken about our future baby, we've referred to him or her as "when baby Noah/when baby Emily comes along" 😂😂

@MrsTwentyNine Ive not really bought anything. Well, I had a bright idea to start buying a packet of nappies with the weekly food shop since last week, so I have one packet of Pampers 😂😂😂

paintfairy · 31/01/2022 08:19

@MimiArm I can't believe you have names. I literally think mine will be born and I'll still be clueless! 🤣 I have a friend with a Noah. I seem to know someone with everyone name I like. 🙄

I keep having really bad dreams. I'm beginning to dread going to bed. 🙈😭
@MrsTwentyNine We don't appear to have NCT near us at the right time. Either too early or too late. The rest are online which seems pointless. I haven't bought anything yet but we did look at prams yesterday and i finally purchased a pregnancy pillow from ebay. 🤣

MrsTwentyNine · 31/01/2022 08:04

PS: baby brain but I love the name Emily too! @MimiArm
(I've started blaming a lot of things on said baby brain 😂)

MrsTwentyNine · 30/01/2022 20:24

Ohh @Juno231 that's amazing! I didn't even know NIPT could tell you that early. Shows you how much I know 😂

MrsTwentyNine · 30/01/2022 20:23

@paintfairy @Juno231 it's so hard to not pick from popular list! I think Theo is quite popular too but I just love it too much to not go with it. I find girl names harder too!

And I forgot to answer your earlier question sorry @Juno231 my EDD is June 15 (which my countdown tells me is only 19 weeks away....whaaaaat!)

@MimiArm yess you must let us know Thursday!! I'm excited for you! You know Noah was always my boy name before I met DH but there's a Noah in his family already so had to change it. I loveeee Noah ❤️ Now I want you to have a boy just so you can use the name haha!

Has anyone started buying anything? I've held off but got some baby grows/ sleepsuits. I've made a list so far and it seems to just make me not to want to buy anything currently as there's SO MUCH to think about. I've given myself until after 24 weeks to buy any "big" item!

Also - NCT? Are you ladies going for it? I've got mine in April/May. Feel like I'm clueless about looking after a newborn so need all the help I can get ...

Juno231 · 30/01/2022 19:16

@MrsTwentyNine I love Theo!! I'm a sucker for having a longer/more formal version so that the kid has the option to shorten if wanted.

I'm really struggling with girl names, anything that catches my fancy ends up being in the top 20. Meanwhile boy names came a lot easier to us but oh well!

Oh and we found out early via NIPT!

OP posts:
MimiArm · 30/01/2022 14:20

@MrsTwentyNine I looooooove the name Theo - definitely gets my vote!!

Our boy name was Oscar but now it's Noah. Our girl name is Emily.

I'm counting down the days until Thursday! I'll be sure to let you know after the scan ☺️

paintfairy · 29/01/2022 18:19

@MrsTwentyNine I really like Theo. But we have a dog in DHs family called that. 🤣 I'm trying to think of less common names but I'm really struggling. I just can't find anything I like. Girls names are easier but even then anything I look up is mega popular.

MrsTwentyNine · 28/01/2022 17:17

@MimiArm it's in 2 weeks time! I have been stressing I couldn't feel movement for a few weeks but yesterday at the cinema, I knew exactly it was a kick. Such an odd sensation. They say it can take upto 24 weeks anyway but you know as with everything, I stress and stress 😂 That's good that you've got things to keep you busy! Exactly what you need! I have that re-scan and then my 25 week midwife appointment in March. The one I'm dreading is my gestational diabetes one at 28 weeks which I have a feeling I may be positive for ! Ahh so excited for you to find out gender. I was super excited for that too and now I have a name! Theo ...what do you all think ?? Theodore means "gift from God" and I just love that. Though I may just stick to the shortened version.

@paintfairy glad you're keeping well. Still can't believe we are all having our summer babies together ❤️ Haha I predict boy for @MimiArm and girl for you!!

Also @Juno231 how did you find out so early ?? I'm so impressed!

paintfairy · 28/01/2022 16:30

@MrsTwentyNine Hey, glad you are OK. 20 weeks seems madness! I can't believe how fast it goes actually? I'll be 15 weeks on Sunday.
And if you are having a boy and @Juno231 is having a girl, statistically @MimiArm that means you and I will also be having opposites! 🤣 Be interesting to see!

MimiArm · 28/01/2022 12:57

@MrsTwentyNine Hey! Lovely to hear from you. That's amazing that you've had your 20 week scan and all looks well 😊 time is flying by, for all of us! When will your rescan be? How are you feeling?

I'm now just over 15 weeks. Had my "12" week scan last week and I've to go back next Thursday for bloods for the triple test.

We are going for a private scan next Thursday night to find out if baby is a boy or girl (I can't wait to find out haha). My 20 week scan is going to be on 1 March.

I've got a load of other appointments booked in too (midwife checkups and consultant appointments) so plenty to keep me busy!

MrsTwentyNine · 28/01/2022 12:24

Fantastic!!! You know already it's a girl! That's amazing. Good luck with your 12 week scan! Hello second trimester soon 🥰

Yess luckily it settled after around week 16 except for veryyy random times now. Very bizarre. Though definitely true about having more energy in this middle trimester.

I think @paintfairy and @MimiArm should be around 16 weeks ? Say hello to them from me on the FB group if they don't see this.

Juno231 · 28/01/2022 10:56

@MrsTwentyNine ah that's excellent news! I'm all good - never had nausea/morning sickness in the end! Per my latest scan I'm 12 weeks today and I'm expecting a girl ☺️. Have my 12 week scan booked in for Fri! What's your due date again? Can't believe you're halfway through already!! Did your morning sickness go away completely in the end?

MrsTwentyNine · 28/01/2022 07:44

How are you all doing @paintfairy @Juno231 @MimiArm ?

Had my 20 week scan yesterday! All good except need to go back for a rescan as they couldn't see the heart chambers properly as he is a little wriggler !

paintfairy · 04/01/2022 11:19

@MrsTwentyNine I'm pretty sure all the old wives tales are nonsense. I didn't know the sickness one though? Oddly I felt nauseous and had massive aversion to smell etc that started around 5 weeks a little and kicked in properly at 6. I felt sick if I didn't eat constantly. But its now settled down and I'm mostly OK? Funny isn't it. I've been ok for the last week and then you worry its gone! 🤣 Which is why I went for a scan. I'm hoping it doesn't come back though! I do feel awful if I eat too much at night and I need to try to not eat big dinners but I just feel full and bloated and horrid, and sick through that, rather than anything else.
I also struggled massively with tiredness early on.

I would like to try to have a surprise at the end but i think I'll end up caving in and finding out what it is. 🤣

MrsTwentyNine · 04/01/2022 11:03

Oh this is fantastic!!! We are all expecting together - I am so excited and over the moon for us all! ❤️ Huge congratulations @Juno231 ! Good luck with your scan today!

Thank you ladies! I didn't have a preference at all but I was convinced it was a girl as I had really bad sickness. Clearly the old wives tales mean nothing! @paintfairy I was way too impatient and had to find out gender asap! Though I'm not buying anything until 24 weeks+ ...You're right about the constant anxiety. But we just have to keep going and be optimistic 🤞🏼

@MimiArm I forget the cut off for when you can get the NT measurements ? Hopefully you can still get them done! But good that you're having extra private ones too :)

How have you all been generally? Has nausea started yet @Juno231 ? Mine started exactly at 8! Had it till about 15/16 if I'm honest.

Juno231 · 03/01/2022 21:54

@MrsTwentyNine a boy! That's fantastic! I've been keeping the girls up to date on FB so forgot to post on here that I got my BFP at the start of Dec! I'm 8 weeks today and have my first scan tomorrow. I'm kinda terrified there won't be anything in there though 😬. Current EDD is 15/08/22 so running two months behind you :)

MimiArm · 03/01/2022 21:34

@MrsTwentyNine Ah, a boy 💙!! How amazing and exciting 🥰 I don't think it will be long until you start feeling baby moving around.

My 12 week NHS scan isn't going to be until I'm close to 14 weeks - so I've another private scan on Wednesday evening (I should measure 12 weeks then, or there abouts).

I had my booking appointment last week and I'll be consultant led so will be getting an NHS scan every two weeks all the way through. That makes me happy (even though it also means I'm high risk!).
