For the small group of ladies still here from the original February bus from 2020.

Maybe 2022 is when we finally get our babies?

Congrats @Decaffe and @MrsTwentyNine fingers crossed for you that all goes well!

Decaffe · 10/01/2024 23:44

Hi all, I only posted on this thread once to say how wonderful it was, after having read it while looking for some positive IVF / infertility stories.

Well, it popped up on my Threads I’m On yesterday and today so I thought I’d mention that… I got a BFP this morning too. It must be a very lucky thread indeed! ✨

MrsTwentyNine · 10/01/2024 20:32

I find it quite surreal typing this but I've just had a BFP too with due date Sept 25! I must admit we did "TTC" technically for the first time this month but I thought we had missed the crucial days!! I saw your name on the September thread and deep down wondered if it could be a sign...why does pregnancy drive me superstitious haha! Being very cautious however due to prev miscarriage!

Congratulations to you !!!

@paintfairy lovely to hear from you too!! How have you been? It may happen without too much effort...you just never know!

Juno231 · 08/01/2024 14:10

@MrsTwentyNine ah what are the odds! Ha but yes I'm early days pregnant - only 14 doo today I think! Took 4 cycles this time (and the first two were NTNP) so it's made how different that has been! How are you? When do you think you'll start TTC?

Ps I was formally mamabearboo

MummyBearBoo · 08/01/2024 13:38

Same I've not been on for ages since I got my BFP in March 2020 but i got a notification too -my second is now 3 can't believe how fast it goes I'm 2 and done but good luck for your second @paintfairy

paintfairy · 07/01/2024 18:21

@MrsTwentyNine I don't come on here any more but it emailed me a notification. How are you doing? I can't believe how fast time is going and how my baby isn't really a baby any more! Also having thoughts about number 2 but obviously it's not that straightforward for us.

MrsTwentyNine · 06/01/2024 23:39

By some freak coincidence I happened to browse mumsnet and saw you got another BFP @Juno231 !!! Huge congratulations:)

Hope you're all keeping well!! Finally starting to think of TTC again and seeing your post was just the best xx

MrsTwentyNine · 21/08/2022 01:29

@MamaBearBoo thank you!!

MrsTwentyNine · 21/08/2022 01:29

@Juno231 how are you?

@paintfairy @MimiArm hope you're both doing ok!

paintfairy · 04/08/2022 09:58

@MamaBearBoo hello! 😊
How bonkers. It seems really strange to think I'd have a 2 year old if things had happened straight away. I hope you are doing well.

MamaBearBoo · 02/08/2022 04:40

Hey ladies I was I this bus when it first started out found out I was pregnant Feb 2020 though so I left it's good to see you're all expecting or have babies now-my little rascal is almost 2 and is so sassy and bossy! She's asleep but I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep!! Xx

MrsTwentyNine · 01/08/2022 23:56

Huge congrats @paintfairy !! I'm with you with the sleep deprivation and I want to really make you feel better that by week 8/9 it's better but I can't say it is 😭 But I promise you that mentally you feel a lot more comfortable with looking after a tiny human after the haze of the first 6 weeks...
Hang in there!!

paintfairy · 01/08/2022 23:09

Update from me for @MrsTwentyNine - in a sleep deprived state. But days is turning into weeks now. Just no time to get on here!

My little girl arrived bang on her due date last Sunday and is now over a week old! 6lb 13oz. Not a 10th centile baby at all. 🙄 She was actually 31st. The time since then has all morphed into one! The birth was extremely fast but relatively straight forward with no intervention and only gas and air. My birth plan didn't really get followed though.
And because she arrived in the morning, I was actually able to go home that evening.
Life is a struggle- getting to grips with feeding and sleeping (or not). Even when she's asleep a struggle to go myself. I'm listening out for her constantly and keep waking up paranoid I've taken also on her. Which i haven't done yet, she's always in her crib next to me.

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

paintfairy · 21/07/2022 09:30

@MimiArm yes I think when the waters break is when it can happen. But by then the babies head should be blocking the exit so to speak. I think because mine isn't low, I worry about that. But I suppose its only likely an issue if my waters go.
The 1 hour thing is ridiculous. At our hospital it was never less than 2 for the last I don't know however long. Now its all day visiting again though (partners only) bar 1 hour at lunch. But after 5pm no one is allowed and people are kicking off about that even. I'm glad you are home though as you need support and can't just manage like that.
The breastfeeding sounds very stressful! Clearly when in agony that's not going to be successful. All these things are just so unknown though and you can't really know what to expect until it happens. All you can do is go with it.
I'm still in denial. 🤣 No baby here.

MimiArm · 21/07/2022 09:04

@MrsTwentyNine - whilst I've only had a glimpse in time compared to you so far, I get that's it's so hard and the lack of sleep is unreal. Having a baby that will only sleep on you must be hard too. We've been lucky that Noah (usually but not always - like last night) will sleep in his next 2 me or Moses basket) and is generally easily settled.

I've also struggled with breastfeeding. Noah wouldn't latch on properly and both nipples ended up blistered and bleeding as each attempt to feed was taking 2 hours (with midwife help). As he wasn't latching properly my colostrum was fairly low so we had to supplement with donor breast milk through a small tube into his mouth whilst he was on the breast. By Tuesday morning, I couldn't take the pain anymore and broke down into a massive crying fit in hospital when the midwife said it was time for another attempt. He had cried all night and I was sore, bleeding and exhausted and I gave him formula. He's been having formula since. I couldn't take donor milk home with me so figured I had next to zero chance of it working out, especially with no midwife help at home. I'm still feeling down about it though and half contemplating trying to express today to see if my milk has come in. I would doubt it though since it's now been 2 days with no supply and demand. Noah is happier now on formula that he's getting what he needs.

@paintfairy I think it was when the waters were broken that the cord moved to that position. I don't really know to be honest. All I know is that it's quite rare. The one hour a day policy is because of covid. I got home on Tuesday night so we are reunited again now and I'm shuffling around the house as best as I can.

How are you feeling about things now that the days are closing in?

paintfairy · 20/07/2022 17:36

@MimiArm I always thought if their head was down it stopped that happening with the cord. So that's a bit concerning! Would you have known even? Doesn't bear worth thinking about. One hour a day?! That's ridiculous! Why is that? How are you getting on now?
@MrsTwentyNine it does sound a bit full on! Hopefully it'll all settle down though.

MrsTwentyNine · 19/07/2022 16:55

Huge congrats on baby Noah @MimiArm !

Ahh I'm struggling with 4th trimester ladies. Well I'm better now after 6 weeks but the sleep deprivation is unreal. I worried I could be depressed because running on such little sleep is so difficult!! Theo won't sleep anywhere but his the sleepyhead so that's a waste of a next to me crib. Me and DH are taking shifts overnight looking after him as he wakes every 2 hours from the start of a feed to feed again! Love him to bits but it's HARD work yikesss! Totally worth it of course :)

Breastfeeding not going to plan @Juno231 so still combi feeding but tbh he is mainly formula. I'm not getting time to increase my supply by expressing etc as he is always on me so offering breast first until he gets fussy within a few mins then giving formula straightaway. I guess whatever he gets is better than nothing aye!

Sorry it wasn't straightforward @MimiArm but really hope you get to go home soon!! Nap in between as much as possible is my advice!!

Good luck to you both @paintfairy @Juno231 any day now!!

MimiArm · 19/07/2022 15:29

@paintfairy Yes. It was scary. His head was down but it was pushing the cord out and off from him. His heart rate nose dived to a near stop. It's amazing how everyone came together so quickly though. The little dude is oblivious to all the fuss he created! I want to go home as hubby is only allowed in for one hour a day and I need the help (and reassurance) as I can barely stand up or sit/lie down. I'm trying to be as mobile as I can though but I've had literally 7 hours sleep combined since Friday night!

paintfairy · 19/07/2022 15:10

@MrsTwentyNine oh no. Don't tell us that. 🤣 I hope everything is OK though?
@Juno231 I am off work but have no paddling pool, so that's still not happening. But it would be nice.
@MimiArm that sounds a little scary? Was his head not down then? Its great he's here safely though. And going home today will be amazing! 🎉

39+2 here (or actually +1 officially, because I know otherwise 🤣). Nothing happening. Had my last community midwife appointment yesterday. Could have had a sweep but didn't, due to the insane weather and me not actually wanting a baby. 🤣 I have induction booked for Sunday (my due date) but I will likely defer it. And see if I can get a sweep. I also have a scan booked Monday to check everything is still OK.

MimiArm · 19/07/2022 14:37

@MrsTwentyNine - good to hear from you.

I was in on Saturday past for induction but started getting contractions at 3 am on that same day. Came in as planned at 8 am and had the pessary at 10 am as I wasn't dilated at all. Had the drip on Sunday morning at about 11 am and was 3 cm by then. Contractions hadn't stopped since they started and were 5 mins apart but they they ramped up to 4 every ten mins very quickly. They broke my waters (took four painful attempts!) but then soon after my cord was presenting so I was whisked off for emergency c-section and baby Noah arrived soon after weighing in at 6lb12.

He's a little dreamboat 🥰🥰

We are going home later today ☺️

Juno231 · 19/07/2022 10:35

@MrsTwentyNine oh dear! How are you both doing overall though? Did you end up breastfeeding btw? Recovery from the birth all ok?

I'm 37 weeks on Thursday and just trying to keep cool tbh. I'm definitely not enjoying being this pregnant in combination with extensive house renovations and still working... Wish I could just lay in a paddling pool all day and not worry about anything instead!

MrsTwentyNine · 19/07/2022 02:50

Sorry been awol! 4th trimester struggle is REAL!! Be warned ladies!!
How is everyone ??

MimiArm · 15/06/2022 18:51

@MrsTwentyNine Oh, Theo is such an adorable name!! I really LOVE it!! Can we see a picture of him? (Even via PM if you don't want to share in this thread).

How are you recovering from the birth?

I'm 35 weeks today and getting so uncomfortable now. I finished work on Friday and am just shuffling around the house each day! I have my next scan/consult on Tuesday so hoping to hear then on whether I will be induced early or not. Feels so close now!

paintfairy · 15/06/2022 18:50

@MrsTwentyNine 🤣 I can't decide if it'll be a pleasant surprise or a nasty shock. I'm not prepared whatever it is!
That's a good weight- not too big or small. Yes, i think you just have to do what you have to do? I like the name Theo. We couldn't have used it but I do like it. 😁
I've managed to do some baby clothes washing today. I need to get organised. Still got more to do but I'm making the most of the nice weather this week! Really need to sort the hospital bag too. Next week's job maybe.....
