8 weeks postpartum and could have conceived???

Hi ladies I’m going to try to make this short. DH and I did the deed 5 weeks postpartum. Out of nowhere now I’m nauseous at random times, when I eat certain things, and I all of a sudden HATE the smell of cigarettes. Could this just be a sign of postpartum period coming? I’ve never had nausea before period before. And if I DID conceive Im wondering if I would even be feeling symptoms so soon.
Please help ease my mind.

Looks positive to me... 12 months between my boys... first year was hard but now it's amazing!
I'm pregnant with no3 now so can't have been all that bad 😊

KitKat1985 · 27/10/2021 08:58

Hi OP. You are very fertile in the initial few months after giving birth so if you had sex without protection then yes there is a good chance you are pregnant. I can see a second line in the test picture.

@Starryskiesinthesky

It does look like a positive test. I have 13 months between my youngest 2 boys. It’s not the best but they are good friends!
Me too! It's much easier now they are 11 and 12!! Lol
Rosiiiiie · 27/10/2021 06:27

Did you take another test?

sleepingrabbits · 25/10/2021 10:33

Is it your first period that is due? There's not set date for it to come? Are you breast or bottle feeding ? If breastfeeding period might not come for a while.

Test looks iffy though 😬

@toadstool32

I had residual hcg for 11w after a mmc so definitely possible
Same for me so possible it's new, possible it's residual.

Test first thing in morning every few days - if line gets stronger, its new

PotteringAlong · 25/10/2021 07:35

I don’t think that’s evaporation, I think you’re pregnant:

Rosiiiiie · 25/10/2021 07:31

It would very unlikely be residual hCG 8 weeks pp. try another brand!

thenewduchessofhastings · 25/10/2021 07:30

If there's a second test in the box I'd have taken it in the morning using your first wee of the day but that definitely looks like a positive test.

At 8 weeks post partum it's unlikely it's residual hormones

jobsagudden · 25/10/2021 07:27

Could be hormones from after pregnancy. Hope you're ok OP.

toadstool32 · 25/10/2021 07:20

Could be residual hcg

MerryMarigold · 25/10/2021 04:36

Not sure which way you want it to go, OP, but Good luck!

nellly · 25/10/2021 03:48

Well maybe, but honestly probably not, it was visible in control period, albeit stronger now and it has colour. Sorry that's not what you want to hear.
Could be an evap though, see what the morning brings Thanks

Boymommm · 25/10/2021 01:40

I know I shouldn’t have but I picked up the test and hour later and the line is obvious now. In the picture you can hardly see color but it definitely was blue. Won’t know for sure until I test again. Could be an evaporation line right?

Not enough to make me think it's positive. Try another one in a few days

nellly · 25/10/2021 00:06

I can sort of see a shadow of line but not convincing, have you got another to try with morning wee?

Rtmhwales · 24/10/2021 23:57

I can see what looks like a shadow of a line.. I'd retest in a couple mornings.

OllyBJolly · 24/10/2021 23:53

@cushioncovers

A test will tell you op. But if you didn't use contraception and weren't exclusively breastfeeding then it's possible you are pregnant.
DSis conceived at 8 weeks pp despite exclusive breast feeding. There’s a month where her boys are the same age- 11 months between them.
Boymommm · 24/10/2021 23:40

Just took this at 6:30 pm

Does anyone else see a line going up and down or are my eyes playing tricks on me? AF still hasn’t shown up and I’m late for my period (I think). I don’t know what’s going on with my body 🥲

When you're postpartum you are extremely fertile so it is possible that you have conceived again if you didn't use contraception. Take a test and put your mind at ease.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 14/10/2021 07:07

I became pregnant about 8 weeks after ds3 was born so it's possible
