how is everyone else? hope you're all feeling a bit brighter too. dg hope you can wind down a bit and not feel too stresseed.

CONGRATULATION poinsettia! lovely news

madoldturkey · 08/12/2007 09:50

Good morning ladies.

First of all pb congrats! Hope everything goes really well for you.

GG stupid, stupid dr. Not surprising you felt like you did afterwards. As others have said now is the time to get the ball rolling with basic tests etc. You are entitled to those. santasmissus sorry you are not feeling any better. What can i say, apart from the fact that i have been feeling like that too, (guiltily, because we haven't been trying for so long) All i can do is send both of you a big {{{{hug}}}} and that's for DG as well.

Bucky i admire your restraint last night! Very impressive. And what did you wear in the end? Did the gress go back or not?

Bucky DG and GG (is it just the 3 of you?) have a wonderful meet up today. Am !!! Have a laugh and relax, as well as discussions about intimate bodily functions wish i could be there.

Abby how are you? Getting concerned, as others have said. Hope you are ok.

Well, i am starting to feel a bit more positive. CD4, and starting to think about BDing in a week or so (if i ov early again). Got the thread "bible" yesterday - "taking charge of your fertility" and have only flicked through at the moment, but am going to settle down and have a good read this weekend. I didn't think i could be bothered to do temping, but DH thinks it would be a good idea and he has gone out this morning to go and get me one (as well as my christmas pressie!!!!) so we'll try and see how it goes. So i guess i am officially charting! Just feels better to be doing something pro-active.

Hello to everyone i haven't mentioned. Hope you all have a good (but blustery) day. X

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 08/12/2007 08:59

Oh forgot to say...I kind of have symptoms. Had a bit of tugging in the last day or so...enough to be aware of it and the white CM stuff. Had the CM before not so much the tugging thing. But only about 5dpo so probably just all the crap I am eating giving me indigestion or something . I kind of don't even believe it is going to happen each month now. It doesn't cross my mind that it could REALLY happen anymore. To the point that I am not even disappointed when AF shows up because I didn't believe it would happen anyway. Like PicknMix says maybe it's a defence thing, though I'm not consciously doing it.

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 08/12/2007 08:54

Geez you too are up late DG/GG...No beauty sleep required for the already gorgeous it seems .

I would just like to say I was the BEST behaved person at the Xmas party (i.e. The most boring)...One G&T only . No wine with my meal (although I got them to pour it and then just drank sparkling water!).

Hope everyone is feeling chirpier today. Tis the season to be jolly and all that.

Abbey where are you? Are you OK?

PicknMix it only takes one time...It's good to be realistic, but don't lose hope. I can't remember how long your cycle is but if you have a 11 day LP and your cycle is 30/31 days you could be spot on!

07MTW was in Bath again on Thursday getting blown about . Hope your neck of the woods was fairing a little better.

Hope everyone has the best weekend despite the crap weather.

Bucky drops a big bag of baby dust from the seventh floor of the MN virtual building on everyone.... **

GryffinGirl · 08/12/2007 00:47

DG - see you and bucky at Vats at 1.30 tomorrow - perfect.

digitalgirl · 07/12/2007 23:46

thanks for the kind words ladies, I went out earlier for a large glass of wine with a friend. she told me i looked stressed, have obviously put myself under too much pressure and would probably benefit from a 'break'. i'm beginning to think that's a very good idea. not a real break...but maybe a non-charting, non CD counting, non-militant bd'ing break.

i'll think about it.

GG have emailed you and bucky re: tomorrow but wasn't sure if you would get it. Vats sounds great. Meet there at 1:30?

congrats pb good luck

GG That is just not good enough. I agree with the others go back begging and pleeding for a referal saying you just need some positive action afterall your Doc seemed to agree that you've been doing everything right. Perhaps see another GP? I'm so so sorry your appointment turned out this way I really thought you would be sent for some basic tests to start with you are entitled to it having tried for 12 months. Sorry but makes me so that you have been left feeling so deflated. I do hope you perk up.

DG I'm sorry to hear you are feeling down too. I can understand why because a 2 week wait is painful enough but for you to have to endure almost double that must be torture. I hope you too feel better soon

Abby How did you get on at the doctors? I'm a little worried you've been rushed to hospital with suspected appendacitous (dreadful dreadful sp!) or something and that's why you are not in touch. Hope you're ok.

Congrats PSB, amazing that you had those BFN's turn to a BFP today. Bet the news is sinking in now

Hello to everyone else, so much going on here again this afternoon it's hard to keep up.

And for those of you meeting up tomorrow have a lovely time especially GG & DG you really need some distraction and fun and I just know Bucky will take good care of you.

TwilightSurfer · 07/12/2007 21:34

PoinsettiaBouquets CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

PoinsettiaBouquets · 07/12/2007 21:25

Oh God you're all going to hate me, one silly night and click. Turns out those cheapo Asda early detection tests are completely unreliable as I got a BFP tonight!
I'm quite shocked, was due yesterdayish and was in a filthy mood yesterday, really thought AF was about to visit. No other symptoms other than going off hand-rolled tobacco about a day after conception LOL.
DH is surprisingly chuffed too.
So, um, babydust to yieu and yieu and yieu . Thanks for keeping me company, fingers crossed for you all.

ScaryHairy · 07/12/2007 20:21

DG and GG I'm so sorry you've both been having such a hard time. Take care of yourselves - ttc can be very wearing, and you need to take it easy.

GG - health insurance in the UK generally does not cover TTC (or at least my BUPA wouldn't). But I think it would be worth going back to the GP if you can bear it and insist on being referred, or, if you can, go to see another GP. I find it very strange that a GP would tell someone to ttc for more than a year without enabling them to get some basic tests.

Picknmix - sorry if I am being dim, but what's EPO? I only ask because this month I had less EWCM than normal - it had literally gone by the end of the day after my positive OPK - in spite of me guzzling grapefruit juice by the pint.

Temp was up this morning so the OPK may have been right on Monday when it said I was going to ovulate. Cervix has been hard and closed since yesterday, so I think I must have ovulated on Tues or Wed, although am a bit concerned that I was having stomach cramps all Monday night and Tues daytime. If they were ovulation pains then DH's mission on Tuesday night might have been too late, but I am glad he made it home. I guess we might have a chance. I'm going to try to put it out of my head for the moment though, and try not to drive myself mad...

PicknMix · 07/12/2007 19:42

Geez - mighty long post from me - sorry!

PicknMix · 07/12/2007 19:41

Hello all,

I'm so sorry to hear that there is a lot of sadness about.

GG your Dr has NOT been helpful - after 12 months I would expect more of a response than 'come back in a couple of months'. I echo what others say in that maybe another trip to the Dr's is needed - can you perhaps see someone else? And getting DH's swimmers checked out is a good idea, rule out things one by one.

DG I really feel for you - I know exactly what its like to have long drawn out cycles, it just prolongs the agony. You seem to be so keyed up on it all so there isn't anything I can suggest. When is your gynie appt?

Abby how did you Dr's appt go?? Are you still in pain?

A massive CONGRATS to Poppysocks and TwighlightSurfer , fab news!!

Glasto I think you're right - I take EPO and I only take it for the first half of my cycle and then stop at ov - I take it cos I read its good for ewcm (and also pms symptoms - specifically sore boobs and achey tummy during af). There's nothing to say you can't take it whilst pregnant, just not recommended, although have read some women use it during labour to shorten labour pains ......

I have pretty much waved bye bye to a bfp this month as ov seems to have gone awol - no ov pain or ewcm (plus bd'ing opportunities have been a bit scarce due to in-laws staying with us - in fact, only managed it once, last night on cd19!). I just have this deep sense that its just not meant to be for us just yet. Not sure why - maybe its a defensive thing to prepare myself for the worst?

Anyway, I hope all mn'ers meeting tomorrow have a fab time - wish I could join you but am working . Hope its just what you need to cheer yourselves up a little.

Hi to all who I have missed - I apologise!

glastochick · 07/12/2007 18:34

GG, big hugs. So sorry your Dr appt wasn't what you'd hoped for.

Spreading lots of babydust to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On another note, what does EPO and drinking grapefruit juice do for you? I heard you can't take EPO if PF, so should you stop during your 2WW? What about grapefruit juice?

santasmissus · 07/12/2007 18:24

well i don't feel much better after a kip but reading through the thread it seems like there's quite a few of us a bit blue at the moment. it is sooo hard this isn't it? i hate that af symptoms mask pg symptoms so well. i don't have anything to say perhaps we all beed a bit of a distraction, if anyone can think of anything?

sorry everyone else is aswell

WE WILL BE CHEERIER TOMORROW

Excitable · 07/12/2007 18:07

DG and GG I'm so glad that you're going to be meeting up. You need people around you that understand. I've nearly been in tears reading both your posts this week.

I am happy to commit violent acts on the person of your GP on your behalf, GG. It makes me so mad

I think anniemac's advice of looking after yourself is spot on. No wonder it's starting to get to you after so long.

I think I might get that book. I spent a long time on Fertility Friend last night and got really worried about my cycles when I found I'd been counting them wrong. I now find that I've had 3 cycles and they've been 43 days, 28 days and 45 days. This looks like a worrying pattern to me and means that I have no clue when I'm likely to ovulate this month.

And yet, and YET, on day 15 or whatever it is (haven't checked yet) I'm still convincing myself I'm pregnant. Fertility Friend says it thinks my cycle will end in the new year so it looks like I'm dreaming of a dry christmas. The evidence of past efforts is against it though!

GryffinGirl · 07/12/2007 18:00

annie I do have health insurance through work. I am doing some investigating about whether it would cover TTC problems.

GryffinGirl · 07/12/2007 17:57

x-posts with sarah - thanks, hon. wine has been poured. Things seem a tiny bit better with a wee glass of vino and you ladiesand you support.

p.s. I haven't forgotten that there have been loads of happy stories too recently - poppysocks shazza twilight. Keep posting here - we need you guys

GryffinGirl · 07/12/2007 17:54

thanks annie and DG - I know you guys understand and I am so sorry when you feel down too . We've all had a knock recently and it's so hard, but it will get better - I am an optimist by nature, so I get confused when i feel down too IYKWIM . I will be positive again . It just didn;t go as I wanted it to and instead of reassured i feel like there have been a lot of other thinsg opened up, but only for us to brood on.

where are we meeting tomorrow DG and Bucky - did we decide? I promise I will be on great form . A place with excellent wine is a great idea! There is a wine bar called Vats on Lambs Conduit Street WC1 and a good gastro pub a bit further up called Perseverance, but I am happy to meet anywhere that suits

sarahnh · 07/12/2007 17:45

GG my heart goes out to you, i wish i had a magic wand to help make you feel better.. please enjoy a big glass of wine tonight and have lots of fun with the mn girls tomorrow...

Sending you a wish i could make it better big hug xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

oh GG I have snuck on a friend's PC while waiting for her to finish work...but I had to post when I saw what you'd written.

I can't believe your doctor wouldn't at least humour you with some blood tests to completely rule out hormone imbalances. I think you should call him back up and ask to be referred to a gynae/fertility specialist like I did. Demand it.

I've noticed that some of the bigger Boots sell home sperm testing kits. Perhaps you could pick up one of those for DH.

You are NOT being hysterical nor are you over-reacting. You've given it the 12 month standard.

Lets make sure we go somewhere tomorrow with really really nice wine. I've got dinner with my PG friend in the evening after seeing you girls (the one that fell pg on her honeymoon in Aug).

I wish I could say more to make you feel better. Having spent most of today on the verge of tears I know how empty and numb this whole game can make you feel. I have to go now, but like you told me, have a good old cry and let it all out before that 4 week baby comes round and then don't forget to cuddle it because holding new-borns is supposed to increase your fertility!

dg xxx

Update time - I went to the doctors and I thought he was great to talk to and I managed to say all I wanted to say, but he said I should go away and keep trying . Now I feel awful. like I've been hysterical and over-reacted. His exact words were "come back at Easter then we'll see then. i really hope to see you before then pregnant though". He said that 90% of couples get pregnant after 12 months of actively trying, 5% after that and 5% don.t. So after 12 months, statistically, I've now got a 5% chance of getting pregnant

He asked a lot about what I'd been doing to monitor fertility, my cycles (like clockwork) and he went into my and DH's sexual history with other partners too and said we were doing everything right, which I sort of knew. Then he talked about chlamydia - the implication being, I suppose, that if it is me "at fault", hormonal issues are unlikely to be to blame, so that leaves the possibility of scarred/blocked tubes, which has made me feel so worried and . Could that be it? Feel tearful and hollow - I thought would be some sort of process started. Called DH and I could tell he is worried now, but he could be overheard by colleagues so didn't say much. He now thinks this is down to him because his swimmers aren't working or that my "wild past" is catching up with me, but I don't have a wild past

I'm going to go and get a glass of wine and wait for DH to come home. We are supposed to be going out for dinner tonight to friends...and their 4 week old daughter. I am in agony.

sarahnh · 07/12/2007 15:57

dg sorry to be so insensitive earlier telling you to test, i feel a bit of a prat now

I really hope you had a nice lunch with dh and am sending you a massive hug xxx

Abby best of luck at the docs, hope they sort you out fast xxxxx
