New 2ww thread, have brought over mince pies and mulled wine and put up some fairylights

Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

thanks for the guidelines picknmix

GryffinGirl · 12/12/2007 13:27

and for you DG at that insensative woman at your Christmas party. I would never think of saying that to anyone. I am so sorry that had to happen to you.

PicknMix · 12/12/2007 11:53

DG I can't assume to know just how you're feeling at the moment but you sound so despondent. I agree with all the rest that this is no longer a 2ww thread, more a 'pore your heart/troubles/joys out' thread. Please don't go anywhere!

GG Not sure if its any help to you but the Nice Guidelines on fertility are worth a read in terms of what is expected from the NHS with regards to fertility issues. Unfortunately, as with most things, it is a postcode lottery but the NICE guidelines do state that after 12 months of ttc is the norm for beginning tests etc. If you can wade through it all, print that bit out and wave it under your gp's nose when you get back from holiday!!

Am getting excited for all you Sunday testers - I'm still a long way off so am living my ttc poas addiction through you guys at the moment!!

digitalgirl · 12/12/2007 11:47

haven't left...been lurking

went out to a xmas party with work last night. Boss#1 has been off on paternity leave. Turns up and corners me to tell me all about changing nappies etc. End up talking to Boss#2's wife, who is now 13 weeks, she asks me when I'm going to start having babies. I pretended I couldn't hear her .

I think any pregnant woman who asks a childless woman when they're going to start a family, clearly hasn't had any problems conceiving. I would NEVER ask anyone that in front of other people at a party.

Best of luck to those testers this weekend, I hope you get your xmas bfps

Bucky & Abby I'm planning on testing Sunday too. I don't feel PG but can't wait and it does my head in. AF is actually due Monday so I could test earlier (and may end up doing so knowing my impatience) but we are going out with friends on Saturday night and I don't want to be disappointed/emotional if it is BFN and I don't want to let it slip out if it's a BFP.

I'm trying to be positive as it's our first wedding anniverary 30th Dec so if AF does show we could be conceiving our second DC on that special day in a luxury hotel room.

Hello to everyone else and DG you haven't really left us have you?

GryffinGirl · 12/12/2007 11:17

morning all,

I go away from the thread for one day and it gallop sforward!

DG - we simply won't let you leave the thread. It's not really for symptom spotting all the time, but hanging out with a bunch of very nice TTC-ers and we'd miss you far too much if you left us. I can't believe the nurse can't interpret the test result for you

abbey - SIL has (i think - BIL told me and he didn't go into great detail) premature ovarian failure or premature menopause, the upshot being that they cannot conceive without a donor egg and IVF/hormone therapy. I don't know what they are doing now and I suppose, like me TTC and keeping it very private they are not telling anyone their plans. I don't want to pry and actually think DH and I are the only ones they have told - MIL and FIL certainly don't know, but may have guessed. They both earn good salaries, but I have noticed that they don't go on such nice holidays now and have put off doing up their kitchen which they were talking about last year, so I wondered if they are paying/saving up for treatment

Bucky - excellent symptoms!!! keep us posted.

annie - absolutely agree with the charting thing and have been using OPK's for a couple of months which has confirmed what I had guessed through EWCM spotting and counting days - that I have a regular as clockwork 28 day cycle and OV at about day 13. I am going to go back to the doctors, but in all honesty, I have had the wind taken out my sails and will park it until the new year. That's partly neccessity 'cause I am away for 3+ weeks over Christmas and New Year anyway.

hiding are we cycle buddies this month?

hello to everyone else and many festive greetings to you,

JollyBear · 12/12/2007 10:07

Morning all,

Sorry to hear about your FIL Shreksmussus. christmas is always a sad time when you have lost a loved one. Hope your family are ok.

DG - Please don't leave I agree with what the others have said. It doesn't matter if there are any symptoms to spot or not. Do let us know you are ok.

[waves madly to everyone else]

I am on day 28 and am usually 31- 40 days, but I've just started getting brownish start of AF stuff but have no usual AF symptoms. Could it be implantation bleeding or am I clutching at straws?! I think I ovulated about CD 19/20.

Unfortunately, no twinklingfairy - a production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Am stressing. Will be a long day...

twinklingfairy · 11/12/2007 22:07

Presumably u are taking them to the panto abby?
In that case tell the members of public to wheesht, its meant to be noisey!!

hidingbehindthesofa · 11/12/2007 22:06

hello again,
i've been lying low trying not to obsess, but have been reading these threads lots!
great post on the pregnancy site abby - its really nice to read all the responses.
i'm on CD7 and waiting to get going with BD'ing. impatient

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 11/12/2007 21:53

Bucky OOOO - you could test even earlier then! I might have done a sneaky one tonight after all the testing talk. BFN. Which we all knew, given it's CD20 and last wee of the day rather than first! Damn my impatience .

I've got to take 90 children to the theatre tomorrow night. I hate the responsibility of it. I'd rather be at home eating the Roses my DH brought home from work! Think of me, as I disappear under a mound of haribo and complaints from members of the public...

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 11/12/2007 21:49

I've started a thread on pregnancy (premature - I hear you say ). Asking ladies how long it took them to conceive. I was being nosey.

They type fast over there! They're a very lovely bunch. We need to hurry the BFPs so we can go and join them...

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 11/12/2007 21:48

Hah!!

It's the Grinch, come to steal Christmas...

.

That's okay, as long as he leaves us DG .

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 11/12/2007 21:46

Hmm, meant to comment on Excitable's symptoms and selfishly forgot . Are you OK now Excitable. Hope it was just a freak incident and all has returned to normal now .

Abbey I just checked the waiting room and I am actually CD23! So by Sunday I will be CD28! So should get a result one way or the other...still scared though.

DG Where are you hiding?? You can't escape us you know, we will track you down on other threads on MN and stalk you till you come back .

twinklingfairy · 11/12/2007 20:48

Ooh, sorry, forgot to say, and to agree with the others: Cha'! I think not DG! You are going nowhere!!

When is the earliest you can test?
10 days?
That would make me able to test next Tuesday
I was thinking I would leave it until christmas eve, use a cheapy test, then a CBD on christmas morn so that I could give DH a fabo gift! (my sister said, what a stick you have peed on?)
But to be honest, I very much doubt I could wait that long and/or keep it from DH.
And anyway, I have jinxed it now

ScaryHairy · 11/12/2007 19:46

Evening all

DG - you are absolutely not allowed to leave this thread. I am going to help MOT bolt the shutters to keep you in!

Am excited for you too, Bucky. You've just reminded me that I am also nearly at test-time. I'm on CD 24 out of what will, I think, be a 31 day cycle. I guess this means I could test from Saturday, although whether there is any point when ovulation took me so by surprise I am not sure. As far as symptom-spotting goes, I have been feeling a bit queasy, but could that not just be progesterone produced during the luteal phase? And my temp seemed to dip a little today, so I guess unless my little egg has been fertilised, AF will put in an appearance soon enough...

madoldturkey · 11/12/2007 17:22

listen everyone, while DG has got her back turned, i've bolted the door top and bottom, and locked the windows, so we're not letting her out - agreed??? We'll hide the keys so the rest of us can pop out when we need to, but i'm afraid that if she goes out at all, she won't be back...and we can't have that...^

Holly saw your announcement on the other thread !!!! Big congrats. You can't wait that long to tell DH though, surely? I know i'd be bursting!!

Bucky am excited already about your potential test at the weekend!

twinkling fairy hopefully you have done enough LOL at rubbish BDing! I guess though there are certain times of the month though when him crossing the finishing line is essential - the other times make sure you get ahead in the race I have to say on occasions we just focus on getting the job done. The rest of the time we make sure it's fun.

picknmix thank you for your kind thoughts - and everyone else. Felt a bit guilty after reading my post - i forgot that everyone else as well as SM could see my message to her, and i hope i didn't look like i was "fishing for sympathy" just trying to empathise with her a little.

excitable hope you are ok now?

Good evening to everyone else!!!!

Well AF has departed now. Got in a little practise today already started the opks just incase it's another v short cycle.

abbyscoffedallthemincepiesmeg · 11/12/2007 17:18

DG - what would we do without you ? Don't go.

Bucky I'm planning a sly early test on Sunday, and you're 2 days ahead of me, so why not?! I was thinking I was, but have been feeling nothing today. Suspect my mind is playing tricks on me again.

I keep thinking back to the 3 times (yes, I know, tut tut ) that I had "accidents" and panicked, and had to pay £25 for the morning after pill early in DH's and my relationship. Ahh.. the irony.. Could be ttc for ages yet.

Festive smiley!!!

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 11/12/2007 16:21

. Hello everyone. .

Abby, you are my cycle buddy again . CD22 for me today, AF due around CD27/28 based on ov day. So I could early test on Sunday? Not sure if I will though as just writing that has made me feel scared.

Shreksmissus and MOT sorry you are having such a sad festive period. . I am thinking about you.

I am just rushing in and out again. My Project Director has JUST (like 15mins ago) gone on holiday until the 7 January 2007 and I am now the sole point of contact!!! So not much of a cushy run up to Xmas for me!!

BuckytheRedNosedReindeer · 11/12/2007 16:17

DIGITALGIRL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOO Don't go away . Please.

07mumstheword · 11/12/2007 15:25

Oh DG how frustrating! Next Tuesday is like ages again. I do hope you get something out of at least one of the appointments though. And please please please don't leave this thread we love having you around - you may only leave when you get a BFP and even then we'll want to have you around.

twinklingfairy · 11/12/2007 14:55

Hmm, no ov pains yet. And my temp went up this morning.
Fertility friend thinks I ov'd on Saturday and has me at 3dpo!
Perhaps we missed the boat afterall.
There again maybe our Sunday BD did its job, shame it was a rubbish dance though

digitalgirl · 11/12/2007 12:58

excitable that's very strange. are you feeling ok now?

I have just spoken to the nurse. she doesn't understand my test results either and referred me back to my doctor, who is on holiday. so I've booked the earliest appointment with the next available doctor - next tuesday morning. followed by my gynae appointment in the afternoon. i hope AF doesn't come before then as I'd like to be able to get a day3 test referral out of one of those appointments.

might have to leave this thread, as with my cycles I don't really get any symptoms worth spotting.

I have a contender for the weirdest symptom prize. I've a cough that's been going around in the North for about a week now. Quite a nasty cough, but no other symptoms and then last night I woke up really hot and delerious - it was awful. We had the window open and it was freezing last night and yet I was just so hot that DH couldn't even get to sleep. I walked around our house naked to try to cool down, which sort of worked, but I was really traumatised and shouting and crying. It was just awful. I remember DH trying to ask me what was wrong and not being able to answer him, just being distraught and not being able to stop crying.

I'm only on CD17, and I bloody hope I'm pregnant, because if I'm not this is bloody strange behaviour!
