Well AF is due on new years day for me and unless a christmas miracle has taken place I doubt I will get a bfp this month but im looking forward to the new year and starting on the ttc trail!
Although I have DS I dont know what early symptoms to look out for as he was a bit of a shock! I had been on a low calorie diet to shift some weight and it was only when I couldnt stop eating after months of strong willpower that I realised I was 2 days late, I tested just to rule it out so was utterly shocked when it was positive
I know full well that I will be obsessed with symptom spotting as we had a scare a couple of months before I fell with DS lol
Lets hope that we all get our bfps in 2008 x

readyfornum2 · 29/12/2007 14:15

congratulations what a fantastic start for the new year

Excitable · 29/12/2007 13:20

OMG - BFP over here! Can't believe it - now I have to drink "gin" and tonics all NYE!!

Looks like the nearly exploding norks were a sign after all...

colabottle · 28/12/2007 21:14

thanks for the welcome. i understood your post. think DG might not be able to ttc on hols cos of the maleria tablets and stuff??????? might be wrong and usually are :O
How long have you been ttc for. this is ou 1st month ttc number2 so not in a rush really,

LuckyBucky · 28/12/2007 20:13

that post was a bit disjointed . I have alot of unused mental energy at the moment as I am not at work so my mind flits from one thing to another....Hope it made sense...

LuckyBucky · 28/12/2007 20:11

DG Did I miss something? . Why did the nurse say to stop ttc?

Hi ClairePO you must live near me...I lurve Woburn. My DP thinks I have a bit of a sickness because I always want to go there and see the lions. Last time we went they had a massive fight, it was really dramatic and the park warden people all had to rush over in their jeeps and break up the fight . Finn is a poppet, he is such a good boy and has broken a record today after breaking a toy in precisely 3 minutes after being given it.

Welcome to Colabottle and a bit shout out to PicknMix my cycle buddy .

I am really nervous about this month. I feel like it's never going to happen . I'm loving the time off work though, so all is good at the mo. I am also hoping my 2008 name will be a self fulfilling prophecy .

colabottle · 28/12/2007 18:06

hi everyone, im new here and have just started the 2ww. not very confident as dh has been unwell and wouldnt play . anyway good luck to everyone

digitalgirl · 28/12/2007 17:47

ok - was supposed to be all chilled about ttc this month, especially with our holiday to zanzibar booked and now the nurse has told me to stop ttc until 3 weeks after we're back

Jan was going to be countdown to fab holiday instead of countdown to AF/BFP (but with BFP being a lovely bonus). Now we're hoping to change the destination because I can't bear the thought of going back to using precautions for the next two months.

Promised myself I wouldn't put my life on hold for ttc, but didn't think that meant putting ttc on hold.

Have had EWCM and been bd'ing for the last few days so it may be too late for stopping (even though I'm not expecting to ovulate for at least another week). Oh well, we shall see.

Morning all, I did some online sale shopping as to lazy to get into it properly, we are heading off to enjoy the lovely sunshine at Woburn or Whipsnade soon. Bucky I do envy you having Finn - DP and I will have to get a gawgie of our own soon and stop just borrowing his mums.

We did the in-law thing yesterday and I quite enjoyed it!

Does anyone else have a food mountain remaining? I haven't touched the cheeses I bought (is it safe to have the brie and goats cheese now I'm in the 2ww? oh what the hell I will eat it anyway), we haven't even cut into the Christmas cake (I had to make my own marzipan, raw eggs, oh what the hell) but we have been making the most of the cocktail shaker and recipe book my parents bought my OH (once again with feeling, oh what the hell!!).

mummy2olivia · 27/12/2007 21:03

Hi everyone- hope you have all had good christmas's!!

digital girl I envy you for not obsessing! I have been terrible this month. Swinging through emotional highs and very lows

We are only on cycle 5 of PROPER trying (not just stabbing in the dark!!) but I really feel as though it has been ages and feel like it isnt gonna happen. I'm being really dramatic and glum, i know. A close family member has just announced she is pg as well which has made me feel worse. Put a brave face on it and even looked in mamas and papas today for some stuff for her . want to be shopping for me!!! Does anyone else feel like this??? I cant imagine it being me and to top it off since xmas day DD is the child from hell- I need a trade in!!

Enough of me anyway- how we all doing?? We need a BFP soon- anyone ready to test?

I'm 9DPO and TBH I feel as though I have a urine infection- gripey, wee hurts etc. Hope this is a good sign although I flipping doubt it!! No other symptoms to report. hope thats a good sign too!!

digitalgirl · 27/12/2007 19:05

hi ladies, hope you've all had lovely xmases.

DH and I have been at home for the past week enjoying all the lie-ins and yummy food. Have currently got my little brothers over who have already exhausted all their toys and are playing online games.

Haven't made any NYE plans yet, left it a bit late

Feeling quite pleased that I've not been overly obsessive this month. Have got to CD16 so quickly. Maybe with all the booze and lazy lounging I'll even ovulate this month. Could be another couple of weeks till that happens but that's ok, I look at it as a three week fertile phase (can you tell I'm feeling positive again?)

Here's to a new year and a new chance for us to get our BFPs

Hi all!

Glad to hear others have eaten their fair share of Christmas excess - I am now sporting a tubby tummy and really should stop with the choc but sooooo many nice boxes were given and I just can't help myself!!!

Hi to my cycle buddy Bucky! Let the bding commence! I have missed out on an in-law visit as they live in USA but they are due to return at the end of Jan and we have to move out (we currently living in their house!) so am frantically house hunting at the mo!

Hi to readyfornum2 and welcome!

Coolcat how brave of you to 'brave' the sales - can't be bothered with all the pushing and shoving so can't bring myself to go. Am back at work now anyway . Am with you on the New Years resolution!!

Twas my birthday yesterday so double celebrations, sad that nothing left to look forward to now (you'd think I'd be used to that by now!!).

coolkat · 27/12/2007 17:06

Hi Ladies hope you had a good Christmas I have eaten so much I am going to pop, Turkey and Jackets pots again today!!

Well waiting for AF to arrive following MC so that I can keep track of where I am. Had unprotected naughties quite a bit so just a waiting game. Every where I look there are babies and my new years resolution is I AM going to have one!! Hope not to break it!!

Ew Bucky the IL's - good luck, went to the sales today and I did not think much to them

See you all soon. X

LuckyBucky · 27/12/2007 16:51

Hello everyone.

I thought I would drop in and say hi, in part to stop myself from eating mince pies. A great time was had by all in Chez Bucky, but the outlaws come tomorrow so anything could happen. DPs mother is afraid of Finn the dog before she has even arrived and his dad already said he is going to feed him quality street so I am fretting. We also lost Finn in a wood yesterday for half an hour so we are still in recovery.

CD10 for me already . Egg hatching soon hopefully.

Welcome readyfornum2 hope you have some New year luck. Throwing baby dust your way.

Hope everyone surfaces soon. It's very quiet here.

JingleBelgoHoHoHo · 27/12/2007 13:03

Scarey hairy - how

Does anyone monitor hair lose as a way of knowing if they have concieved or not?

I have fairly thick hair, and one or two handfuls come out when I wash it. But when I'm pregnant, no hair comes out. It's been a clear sign in two of my pregnancies.

readyfornum2 · 27/12/2007 12:43

Hi Ladies
I have been lurking for a while as I have been broody for number 2 for months now but didnt think DP was ready.
Anyway after DS (18 months) was ill just before christmas we got talking about how we are so lucky to have him (he wasnt planned and was a big shock but a happy one) and I mentioned giving him a sibling in the future and DP agreed that we could start trying now

Unfortunately I think we missed the boat this month as we decided about a week after I ov'd
so unless we have another big shock I am looking forward to AF arriving so that I can start obsessing about symptoms with the rest of you

ClairePO · 27/12/2007 12:00

Hello Ladies, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Here to join you as I'm now in the 2ww.

meglet · 26/12/2007 12:51

Happy Boxing Day everyone!

I am going to stay on this thread for a week or so. No actual physical symptoms as yet, but I am an emotional wrck and bursting into tears at everything! Tragically including "once in royal davids city" at church on xmas eve . So maybe my hormones have gone bonkers. Will be testing NY day.

ScaryHairy · 25/12/2007 12:14

Hi everyone. I hope you are enjoying Christmas. DD has received everything a one year old could want and has passed out from excitement, so I thought I would take a moment to share my embarassing hellish ttc moment with you all...

DH, DD and I were staying at PILs until yesterday. I have been charting religiously and so DH decided to bring my notebook with us to PIL's house. I should add that I had been planning to leave it at home as it is early in my cycle - I figured missing a few days wouldn't matter. Anyway, the front page came off and did not make it back home with us, so PILs now have a page of my scrawl detailing temps, cm, cervical position , graphic descriptions of my period, waffle about sore nips etc etc. It also says when we had sex.
Oh dear God.
It's just as well their English isn't great, but still...

libraladytistheseasontobejolly · 25/12/2007 08:02

Merry Christmas everyone.
I'm waiting for DS to wake! Next year I don't think there'll be any holding him back and he'll be waking a 5 month old into the bargain ha ha!
Hope everyone has a lovely day. and the added bnous of some BFPs.

twinklingfairy · 25/12/2007 01:08
