New 2ww thread, have brought over mince pies and mulled wine and put up some fairylights

Come in, take your heels off and get cosy!

mibbles I would have been 11dpo, but then FF adjusted my Ov date a few days ago where I went backwards from 8dpo to 5dpo. So today I am officially 8dpo (just edging into implantation zone). Despite being itching to move on in the 2ww, I also know that the closer I get to the end of it, the more anxious I'll become about testing/BFNs/AF. I should enjoy this bit more really.

I have a new TMI symptom...constipation. Oh and I also have dry mouth. Maybe it's an MN thing?

picknmix Feeling very positive for you and your spooky premonition-foreseeing DH!

eleveld no symptoms is officially a symptom here.

Eveveld We spend lots of time on this thread discussing possible pregnancy symptoms, but unfortunately a positive test is the only way to know for sure! I certainly get my hopes up every month - so you're not alone. It sounds positive that you are not having your usual AF symptoms - keep us posted

Picknmix My DH once had a dream about the score and scorers in a football match, so put £5 on and won about £70! It was a one off though Hope your DH is right on this one

Eleveld · 11/01/2008 12:41

Hi
Can I ask a question.

I am due AF Tues/Wed next week and normally by now am suffereing really sore lumpy boobs.

However, this month I haven't got anything like that.

Does this mean anything or I am just getting excited over nothing (probably, as it is my first month of trying!)#

Thanks

JollyBear · 11/01/2008 12:09

I thought it was mibbles not mibbes too! Sorry!

mibbes (see, I'm learning) I've had a similar thirst and no AF yet, BUT I have had a few mild AFish cramps and a BFN 3 days ago - don't think this is my month. HOWEVER, I think it was Shazza who has now dropped off the graduate list, who was really thirsty and got a BFP! So there is hope for both of us there

madoldbird · 11/01/2008 11:02

Whoops! mibbes I have been completely misreading your name... Glad you quite like "mibbles" though!

Just for you dg altogehter now: ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE .... (you'll just have to imagine the dodgy dancing....)

mibbes · 11/01/2008 10:35

Incidentally MOB I love the way you refer to me a mibbles - I actually prefer that name to mibbes, may change it as someone else called me that too

mibbes · 11/01/2008 10:26

dg isn't that 11dpo for you now..? does that mean you are in the "implantation zone" now...fingers crossed .
MTW I agree about the Fetility book - I was hooked and learned so much so quickly ! She gets a bit OTT about how to determine swimmers from EWCM though - I found that a bit of overkill, but she is very keen on CM ! and indeed she does not seem to be very positive about clomid but having said that there are loads of success stories with it so I guess it must work for a lot of people.
Is thirst/dehydtration a symptom as have been drinking water and green tea by the gallon but still seem to be dehydrated (according to FMU... sorry of TMI!) and have even woken up with a sore thorat and a mild (all too familiar) hangover feeling some days this week - maybe just a winter cold

digitalgirl · 11/01/2008 10:07

morning MOB and MTW - I agree with mtw, temping is definitely the way forward. Saves on testing too early and the dreaded BFN. If I hadn't been taking my temp this cycle I would assume I've had pg cramps for the past week.

As it turns out I woke up with quite bad cramps and sore boobs. And my temp crept up again! Obviously it's all way too early to tell. It just has to stay like this till next weekend and I'll be in with a chance. MOB where's that song?

07mumstheword · 11/01/2008 09:44

Morning MOB I had exactly the same dilema the other day when I was asking advice on when to see the doctor as heading into cycle 10 and want some answers. After a heart to heart with DH and a few tears I've made an appt for next Thursday just for a chat to find out.

Having read some of my taking charge of your fertility book though it sounds as if I should try temping for 3 months to give me some help on what my body is really doing. I was really surprised to read that some treatment can hinder fertility in some ways such as Clomid can dry up CM and sperm can only survive in CM. Fascinating stuff, the book is really informative.

W&C Sorry I forgot to say TEW got you.

madoldbird · 11/01/2008 09:38

Hello 07MTW!!

How are you today?

I got a Boots own brand digital thermometer, that seems to work fine, but haven't got into the routine of temping yet.

madoldbird · 11/01/2008 09:36

Good morning ladies

Hope everyone is ok on this dark horribe morning.

dg I will have to perfect my singing and dancing routine to keep you occupied during your 2ww!! Things are sounding quite good for you - as it seems that lack of symptoms are a good thing!! Perhaps that should be our new thread title when it is next due - "here's hoping for no symptoms this month" (though, of course, we will continue to obsess over the slightest twinge etc. after all, it wouldn't be normal not to, would it

Mrsei how frustrating for you (and us) on your faulty test!! Have you been able to test again yet?

twinklingfairy My thoughts are with you on the death of your grandad. Hope you are doing ok. What a sad time for you all. I am glad i am not alone in finding the other thread a bit scary at the moment! It's lovely that so many people are chatting in there but i find it hard to keep up! I envy you living in the north of scotland. i have only been up there a couple of times but i absolutely love it and felt very at home there.

W&C so sorry to hear that AF arrived.

mibbles things are sounding promising for you at the moment?

picknmix Well if your DH is right we'll all want to borrow him!! (only for his crystal ball-type skills!

I have been feeling a bit funny abut things the past few days. Can't really even talk to DH about ttc. He has been getting ready to start all over again, asking if i've got opks etc and getting positive about it. I can hardly bring myself to think about it, even though, of course, i still want it more than ever. Don't know when we should start going to GP for tests etc, someone asked the other day how old i am, i'm 37, so i think tests can be done after 6 months over 35? Don't know if i'm ready for that yet. Keep reminding myself that i've done all this before, with no trouble, but that was 11 years ago now! Nutritionalist has put us both on Marilyn Glenville's fertility supplements - they are expensive, but worth every penny if they work! She feels that diet and exercise really will be the key.

Sorry for going on about myself - obsessed monologue now over! Hope everyone else is doing ok today.

And please, can someone get a BFP - i need some good news and motivation!!!

07mumstheword · 11/01/2008 09:36

Our internet was down for some reason all yesterday so couldn't get on! But my "Taking charge of your fertility" book arrived so had that for company.

I think taking temps is the way forward can anyone recommend a good brand digital termometer? I only have one that goes in the ear and apparently that is not accurate enough for TTC temping.

DG Thanks for the info on Leutal phase, no problem there then. what can I make up next....

TF I know what you mean by so many newbies on the TTC board, I've kind of lost it a little over there as so many new people to keep up with, they do seem very friendly though.
When is your grandads funeral so our thoughts can be with you.

Picknmix Positive thoughts good for you and DH's dream lets hope it come true.

Hi Hatty Bucky You ok out there?

twinklingfairy · 10/01/2008 21:36

I really didn't mean to say it, or rather I didn't realise I was gonna until it came out of my mouth
I have to admit to staying clear of the shop for a bit afterwards though. but, as I say, he still asked again when I finally did go back in.

I live in the very far north of Scotland and my brother reckons they live on island time, so I think they all think like islanders too. Everybodys business is everybodys business. Ah well doesn't help that I am a blabber mouth!

Thanks picknmix I am feeling a bit better about it all. We went to see him in the chapel of rest tonight and, though it was strange to see only his head with the rest under cloth, it was good to say my goodbyes.
Even seeing him then, only made me remember him as he was, so I was smiling through my tears.

ScaryHairy · 10/01/2008 21:20

Lol at telling the poor man that breastfeeding stops menstruation. Talk about TMI! But if you will ask a personal question, you'll get a personal answer...

PicknMix · 10/01/2008 21:13

Firstly thank you all for your kind words about my friends father and his funeral. And Secondly apologies for not saying this before.

Twinklingfairy so sorry to hear about your granddad. You sound like a strong person tho and as everyone has said, people deal with their grief in all sorts of different ways. Take care of yourself (but try and leave hapless HV alone in future , altho, as you say she did ask!!)

W&C boo and hiss to AF, sorry to hear she got you.

Apologies for being a rubbish symptom spotter - only come on here sparingly as trying desperately to stop obsessing. Have odd feeling this month tho. Feeling really rather positive (even tho only managed to bd ONCE at optimum time). Have been having af cramps on and off since ov which has never happened before (usually just get sore nips). Also DH woke up yesterday and said 'I've had a wonderful dream that you are pregnant'. Am hoping DH has achieved crystal ball reading status and can really see into the future. This, along with his once only supersperm. Ahhhhh, we can but dream!!!

mibbes · 10/01/2008 21:07

LOL good on you ! Well if these nosey people will ask !

twinklingfairy · 10/01/2008 21:04

Yeah, thats what I thought
I did the same in a shop were the owner is a yap. It was when just before were first trying and I was stil BF DD so I told him, 'No, did you know that BF stops your periods.'
Ooops, I may have embarassed him a little. Then I said, well you did ask. But even I thought, yes but he didn't ask for that kind of info.
Mind you it didn't stop him asking again recently. Though I gave him slightly less info than the HV

mibbes · 10/01/2008 20:59

pmsl at outburst to HV - it is her own fault for asking

twinklingfairy · 10/01/2008 20:50

I wrote a post on the ttc thread earlier today and was not noticed at all
But it is all new people there now and they talk a lot
Just thanking them for there kind words about my granddad, but hey ho, nevermind, just thought I woudl have a poor me moment.

5dpo here too and not really much to report, cept a bit of lower back pain.
The flashbacks have subsided a bit.
I think I embarassed myself though. I happened to meet my health visitor in town today and she asked if #2 would be on the way soon. So next thing she knows she has been dtold, yes we have been trying for 6 months, I am worried cos of my D&C, has it damaged me, etc etc.
I did realise what I was doing and apologised, she just smiled and said don't worry, but still think I was silly
Ambushing HV's in charity shops is not good
In my defence, she did ask!

mibbes · 10/01/2008 20:46

sorry af got you witchandchips . By the way - great name !

Well still no af here so have decided to spot symptoms.. have had a fleeting fuzzy/dizzy spell a few times over the past week - is that a sign - or am I just overdosing on fruit and green tea in my attempt at a Jan detox...? It is always very brief but strange and has happened 4 or 5 times now...wishful thinking? Also have been full of energy - which is like and anti-symptom as you are supposed to get tired ! Again maybe the detox has caused the energy surge ! Oh well is doesn't hurt to hope... (.)(.) are not sore atall(despite prodding..) and no cramps today.

ScaryHairy · 10/01/2008 18:53

Sorry about AF w&c

Nothing much to report here - 5dpo so no symptoms yet.

hattyyellow · 10/01/2008 15:35

bucky random wave! haven't "seen" you for ages

will stop cluttering up board now

H (cbcb)

hattyyellow · 10/01/2008 15:34

mtw going to the docs sounds like a really positive step - at least you feel that you are getting some answers hopefully

hattyyellow · 10/01/2008 15:33

dg wot no symptoms? I'm sure you can dream some up, I'm thinking of adding some to the list...urge for chocolate, tick...although your upset tummy and temp increase sound good ...i've had an upset tummy too and i am counting it as a symptom

w&c so sorry about AF

hoping we all get some good news soon..

digitalgirl · 10/01/2008 14:06

sorry about AF W&C

MTW luteal phase is counted from the day after ovulation (so maybe 2 days after a positive OPK) till the day before AF. so if you get a +ve OPK on CD9, you ov on CD10/11 and then end your cycle on CD25 that means you have a 14/15 day luteal phase which is really good.
Do you keep bding till about CD15? Coz sometimes these opk s come early.
