Hi guys I was wandering if you could help.
We are trying for number 2 for over a year.. I’m so bloated and don’t feel right.. I have just done a ovulation test, I’m due on my period in 3 days, I was just wandering can they predict pregnancy? Also does this look like a positive test! Thank you for your help!

Hi everyone

I just wondered if this has happened anyone else? I have been getting very strong positive results with One Step and FRER tests, but almost negligible line on One Step LH strip. I am just so confused as I inadvertently found out I was pregnant with my two children from an LH strip - with a blazing test line. I cannot understand why this is not happening this time when I am getting such strong positives on other hCG tests and am apparently 4weeks pregnant. I have been to HC today for serum hCG blood test. Will be interesting to see what my level is.

The other thing to remember is that unlike hcg there is always some LH in the body but it will depend on the sensitivity of the ovu test strip. I’ve found using 6 miU/L strips that there is almost always a line visible but most of the ovu tests pick up at 25 miU/L or 20 or 15 and rapid response E early response according to pub med study picks up at 10 advertised but might pick up at 6-8 stated whereas most are 100 and clearblue 25 x

Hey, so my partner and I have been TTC for almost 2 years with no joy. This month I monitored my ovulation etc. How soon after ovulation would you guys say to test for pregnancy? Everyone round us seems to be getting their chance and it's just not happening for us 😪 TY in advance x

It sure can my ovulation tests never once picked up when I was ovulating but I tried it 6 weeks pregnant and sure enough! Strong as ever.

@MrsColon oh my god bless yih, it's so hard, I'm so lucky as it's our second child we are trying for, but I feel like I'm letting my DH and dear daughter down with my stupid body as it's been a year and half we've been trying. But I know I should be grateful, people are in a lot worse situation than me! Sending so much love your way! You cry over that it's so allowed! Thank you for being so lovely to this sad old girl!

Re: hormones, I know what you mean. Before my last miscarriage I had a full-on, snotty, tearful meltdown at DH because he ate the last of the Rice Krispies - which normally only he eats, I just fancied some that day!

It's not misery top trumps, regardless of how easy/difficult it is to conceive it's normal to feel sad when you think it's happened but it doesn't pan out.

It's normal to get an LH surge just before your period - don't keep testing using ovulation tests, you'll get the same result every month. Buy a load of cheap HCG tests from eBay and use those instead.

I detected my ectopic pregnancy using ovulation tests. These exact CB digital ones. as I had my peak twice then bfp

I'm a day late did a test yesterday, middle
Of the day it was negative, but drank a lot?! Still no sign of AF as yet x

This might still be your month op but opk tests are not the way to go. Also those clear blue stick reader ones you've used always have two lines x

OP you need to stop using ovulation tests as preg tests. The hormone (lh) that they measure always rises just before a period, so you'll get a 2nd line.

There is nearly always some LH in our urine so there might always be some sort of line there. Like PP said, that one you’ve done isn’t quite positive and you do get a bit of a surge before your period too.

That's not a positive opk though op, we all get a slight second lh surge prior to af so that's why you can get a second line before your period. For a opk to be positive the test line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line, good luck xx

Do this has happened again I'm due on tomorrow, lots of symptoms, sore boobs, headaches everyday last five days, skin has broken out and achy joints extreme tiredness. But is it?! Ahhh Shock
