@October1979 I'm so glad OH is supporting you I don't think it's an easy decision to make at all and I don't think anyone who decides this does it lightly. At the moment OH just point blank refuses to talk about it. I'm not sure why he's adamant it will happen for us when it clearly isn't.

I really really hope this works for you xx

Catconfusion · 16/04/2022 09:37

@Kelb79 I felt similar. I was 39 when I fell pregnant on my honeymoon by complete accident. I remember thinking well that was easy. Sadly it ended in a mmc at 10 weeks and I was absolutely blindsided. I had no idea I’d have mcs and how common it is. I just assumed not getting pregnant would be my issue as my mum and sister struggled and needed fertility drugs. It was definitely a baptism of fire into the world of pregnancy loss.

I really hope you get a surprise bfp. I found out I was expecting my son a few days before the due date of my mmc baby. I have to say it was a relief. A midwife once said to me some women almost need to get that due date out the way to fall pregnant again. She’s seen it many times and thought it was part of the recovery and grieving process. I hope it rings true for you. Xx

@DorritLittle I have a friend who also went to Spain and is 32 weeks pregnant just now. I'm putting off discussing it with her until I've made a decision. She will be really supportive. Just don't want to bring it up unless we are going to do it.
@DOB78 I am looking at Prague. My husband had avoided the conversation and had his head in the sand. He felt if we kept trying it would happen. I phoned the clinic and got all the information this week and booked a provisional appointment for 13th May. I then spoke to him and told him I needed him to listen to me and how I feel. We only have one life and we can't have any regrets. I explained my need to be a mother and I felt I really wanted to do this. If we kept trying for years and nothing then it would be too late and I think I would spiral when we stopped. It's the hope that's keeping me going. I told him I booked a provisional appointment that I said I would confirm after I had spoken with him. He said it comes down to how much I want this and he would support my decision. He would be happy if I was happy. It's a hard conversation to have. X

Congratulations @Catconfusion Flowers

I have lurked on this thread for ages and remember seeing your posts on it so am really pleased for you!

Catconfusion · 16/04/2022 08:42

Thank you so much ladies for the well wishes. This thread was such a great source of support for me. It’s lovely to hear my story has given some hope. I wish I could say it’ll be ok in the end. Although I can’t say that, I can say miracles can happen and no one is more surprised than me that I’m in this position. I’d pretty much given up when I fell and felt at peace with it not happening. Not sure if that helped.

The month we caught I’d been following a Mediterranean diet off and on. I was also taking ubiquinol. I’m not sure if those things helped. I’d lost a few pounds but nothing major. Honestly I think a lot of it was luck. I’d had three early losses pretty much in a row so I think egg quality was an issue for me.

Anyway I really hope to check back and see more bfps and that you’re all doing ok. It’s such a gruelling process and my heart goes out to you ❤️ Xx

Hi @October1979 yes, it's on my mind as well. going to see how this round of ivf goes and then give it serious consideration. I'm not sure how keen my husband would be on donor eggs because he's more of a believer of the importance of nature over nurture. And I'm not sure whether emotionally we could deal with a failed donor round....

Can you remind me, I think you decided not to go ahead with ivf with your own eggs because of the expected success rates? Did you manage to get a referral for more investigation given how many chemical pregnancies / miscarriages you have had? Hope you're doing ok.

DOB78 · 15/04/2022 21:08

Hello group newbies 👋👋👋

@Kelb79 you never know i got BFP the month we both had covid!!

@October1979 it's something I've been looking into outside of the UK, they have better success rates and its cheaper. At first I thought no way it wouldn't be my baby but I've read so many stories of women feeling the same but have no doubts its their child. I think it might be our only option now but OH is refusing to talk about it.

I have 2 Daughters from a precious relationship and conceived with no issue but I was 20 years younger then.

11dpo today BFN on CB Digital so think I'm out and my TTC is going on hold.

DorritLittle · 15/04/2022 12:10

@October1979 a good friend of mine successfully used a donor egg as she has unexplained infertility. She had a very positive experience and a happy outcome! I think they did it in Spain.

October1979 · 15/04/2022 11:40

Has anyone on here discussed or thought about using donor eggs? I'm 42 and have no children and starting to think about it. Although the chemicals and MMCs keep me thinking it might just happen if I wait it out. Just worried if we wait too long it might never happen and I keep getting older.

@Kelb79 I'm feeling just the same as you. Also born in 79. We've been trying for just over 2 years. 2 MMCs and 5 chemical pregnancies later still trying. I like you thought it would just happen. I am kicking myself that I didn't try younger. It's only now I realise how hard it is over 40 x

Hey everyone, hope you’re all doing ok?

@Catconfusion she is gorgeous!!!! Huge congratulations!! It’s so hard to stay positive but miracles do happen!! I just always thought when I decided to have kids it would just happen - didn’t expect for a moment that I’d find myself in the minority of not being able to get pregnant - that happens to other people right?! And then I in no way thought I’d be the one to have a miscarriage 😕
You just assume you’ll be fine - I think that’s one of the hardest things to come to terms with.

I’m 3DPO but I’m not holding out a lot of hope for this cycle - we both had Covid so didn’t BD much at all! there’s always a chance though I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️
This is my last full cycle before my would have been due date on the 30th - I so hoped to be pregnant again before that 😵‍💫😵‍💫

October1979 · 15/04/2022 08:44

@Catconfusion congratulations she is just beautiful.

Hi and welcome 😊

41andtryingforfirst · 14/04/2022 10:45

Hiya I'd like to join the group if that's ok? On 2nd cycle of trying and 10 dpo. Got a bfn today but I know it is early

DOB78 · 14/04/2022 06:57

@stuntbubbles Hi, hope you're alright hadn't seen you for a wee while. I can imagine the frustration of not poas but hopefully it will be worth it when you can x

traceyann44 · 13/04/2022 21:45

Why has this post been deleted?

stuntbubbles · 13/04/2022 21:33

And congratulations @Catconfusion – what a beautiful bean! Hoping I can come back to this or future threads with such a wonderful update.

stuntbubbles · 13/04/2022 21:32

Just placemarking this thread while I can see it at the top of the board - I always lose it! Currently 5dpo and on holiday rigidly saying to myself “relax, relaaaaaxxxx” because people always say they got pregnant when they relaxed… 🤪 Also I’m with oodles of family and nosy toddlers so couldn’t bring any tests with me so I can’t do any mental “POAS at 7dpo” type shenanigans.

Marvellouslymadmum · 13/04/2022 20:08

@Catconfusion congratulations lovely that's such amazing news!! I'm so so pleased for you all and that gorgeous big bundle! Xx

MariaDingbat · 13/04/2022 19:53

@Catconfusion Congratulation!!!! She's Gorgeous! What wonderful news.

DOB78 · 13/04/2022 19:43

@Catconfusion I can imagine she wasn't going to come out easily! Glad you're feeling alright. She's absolutely perfect 🥰

FedUpthenaBitmore · 13/04/2022 19:20

Well my period was due on Monday and it never came and I’m always very regular. But tests are negative so no idea what’s going on, I did weirdly have about 5 days of loads of ewcm so I couldn’t pinpoint ovulation (I didn’t use opk this month as they were stressing me out)

So now I suppose I just have to wait
