Just got my Bfp 16dpo, wanted to share my story

Hi everyone.

I got my bfp today 16dpo! I was so shocked but thought I'd share my story :)

So 2nd cycle ttc but my 1st cycle was 71 days long!! It was soooo stressful, but then went back to normal this cycle and ovulation went back to as expected.

I used clear blue ov sticks and got my flashing face on CD 14 and solid face on CD 18.

We had sex on these days, CD 14 and CD 18. So only twice. No idea which day we conceived on but from the cramps and sore boobs I think I ovulated on CD 19.

I actually went away in the tww for a week and decided I would enjoy it and drink and eat what I want. (drank a lot of sauvignon, I cannot lie!)

The only things I have felt so far are really tender boobs on and off, but nothing different with nipples at all.

I've had the odd occasion where I've bent down and felt a twinge I've never felt before, like a little nudge or tug.

No nausea yet, sense of smell normal, eating normally no aversions.

Had period like cramps when I was due on probably CD 32 or 33 (2days ago) and lots of pms type symptoms.

If am honest I was 100% expecting my period to show, I even took pads away with me. The only thing that really was different was sore boobs (more so in left one) and the fact my period was Mia.

I even said to my OH this morning that my period could still come in a couple of days! But the bfp showed up within seconds :)

I am still so so shocked, but I was as stressed as others out there about the whole ttc journey, trust me!

Sorry for taking ages to reply, bloody work! I'm in one with 400 members called "UK mums due in April 2022". It's really good and think you can search it 🙂

I told my work really early, like 9 weeks, I just wanted to get it over with too lol

Im just coming up to 2 months in a new job and they still dont know i am pregnant, i am dreading telling them! Going to try get time with my manager this week to get it over and done with lol

Oh god I know how you feel, I've cried a couple of times about work things that normally I wouldn't even notice 🤣

Is that the big group with 5k members?? I was in it but left as thought it was American. But I haven't commented on anything ☺️ I'm in a UK one that seems good, 400 members "UK mums due in April." xx

@Eanrcs88 i am on ‘babies due april 2022 UK’ and was just curious if we had been chatting on there without knowing! Haha my dd is 24th April!

Yeah i cried on Sunday night because it was my DH birthday yesterday and I forgot to get him a cake… had card and pressie and was well aware it was his bday but totally forgot the concept of cake for birthdays! He was rather amused that i cried😂 I am so inpatient so gave in and booked a gender scan as i always said i would want it to be a surprise. I know damn well i wont even believe it till i meet him or her to confirm they are that sex so dont know why i am wasting my money lol xx

Ive had 2 face to face appointment with the midwife now but I think there is a midwifery crisis at the moment from what I've been told and read :(

Oooo gender scan will be so exciting! We've decided to keep it a surprise!! Although it will be hard as we have the 20 week scan in a few weeks time!

I've been taking seven seas from the start, so not sure if they've done anything or not! The tiredness in the first trimester though... Wow!! Had a few cries myself, wondering if it was normal lol.

Yes I'm on a couple of groups I think! What about you? Are you due end of April? I'm due mid April xx

@Eanrcs88 I have my 16 week call from midwife next week. Seems like Northern Ireland doesnt even do an in person meeting at 16 weeks :(.

My 19/20 week scan is 26th november and Im going for a gender scan this Sunday, cant wait to see how much baby has grown since i last seen them!!

Yeah the first trimester was definitely testing, alot of nausea and was sick a handful of times and cried a few times with how tired i was lol but the last week or so feel alot better but randomly threw up again earlier! I switched over to seven seas pregnancy vitamins a week or so again and can definitely feel a difference!

Are you on a babies due April fb group by any chance?

I'm great too thanks! I'm 16+6 today!! Had 2 scans so far and had my 16 week midwife today and heard the heart beat!

First trimester was hard work! Sooooo much nausea and off all food and drink! Feeling much more like myself now!

I had 2 like that yesterday and then I've got a CB coming this morning 🤞🏼

@Itsjustme20 that looks positive to me!! Congrats! I'm guessing you ovulated late this cycle but 14 days ago would make sense timeline wise.

Are you planning on doing a FRER or CB digital? Xx

@Eanrcs88 So... I've just taken a test. Again. I had the 2 positives on Mon 09/08 but then negatives since then although the positives were faint.

I'm on CD49. I had EWCM 14 days ago and we DTD that day. The last 2/3 days I've had light pink/light brown spotting. This positive came up straight away and well within the 3 mins.

After having positives 2 weeks ago and then negatives and now this?! 🤷🏽‍♀️

@CTMcG ahhhh I see, I ovulated on dc 19 so I think I am 5+6 still. I haven't cried yet either! I don't really feel that emotional yet, but noticed tonight and last night had a icky taste in my mouth.

I've received a letter in the post for my dating scan 😊 but it's not until the last week of September! That's ages away!!

I though you had a booking appt before 10 weeks too? Maybe they'll call me for that if so.

Anyway I can't wait that long so booked an early scan at 8 weeks 😂

@Eanrcs88 i know how you feel, i am the same, i am so bloody happy but as its still so early and i am still in shock I haven't cried with happiness yet and i am a crier. If all is well in scan i will blub like a baby with happiness then and make up for it haha

Yes its from your last period and mine was 9th of july so i should be about 5.5 but my cyles are about 36 days so i didnt ovulate to about cd24 so i am saying i am 4+2 for that reason but if your cycles are regular then you will be about a week or so more than me if that makes sense :)

@CTMcG ahhhhh I think I am 5+5 but that's counting from my last period - is that right? I feel clueless lol.

I was thinking on booking an early scan - I think they are done transvaginally from what I've read. I may book one too for piece of mind.

It still doesn't feel real 😂

@Itsjustme20 ahhh fingers crossed for you! That's what happened to me on my last cycle which was the super long one. Hopefully you won't have to wait much longer x

Hi @Eanrcs88 never worry! No word from midwife yet, im only about 4+2 weeks i think though so i reckon it will be a while yet but i did book a private scan for 6 weeks just for my peace of mind!

Im getting out of breath easy and I am tired but other than not, not much! Boobs maybe a wee bit sensitive but wouldnt say sore! X

How are you feeling? Other than my boobs hurting I still don't feel too different!!

Have you heard from the midwife yet?

I did the registration form on My Pregnancy Notes last week and they've assigned me a midwife but not had any contact yet re an appointment. Not too sure what the next steps are really!

How are you doing @Itsjustme20?

I take folic acid and vit d just and my doc has told me that thats all that is recommended on the NHS so going to keep at them for now☺️

@CTMcG ahhh yes I had to fill in a registration form on My Pregnancy Notes which then submits to my local hospital. Strange they don't refer via a go anymore!

I did the other test this morning and came up positive straight away again!

Yes it's going to a long wait to the first appointments isn't it.

I got seven seas pregancy bits his morning, although I was already taking folic acid. Are you taking any?

@Eanrcs88 premom app is putting me exactly 5 weeks today as my last period was 9th July but as my cycle is slightly longer than normal I doubt i am that far yet!

I am in Northern Ireland and I take levothyroxine for thyroid so i rang doc straight away yday and they tell me that they dont refer over here so i filled in a form and emailed it to hospital last night. I dont think they see you to 8 weeks so its going to be a long 3 weeks! Definitely hasnt sunk in yet!

@CTMcG I had zero implantation symptoms as well. I just felt like my period was about to start and that's it! I have another test in the pack so was going to test again in the morning then will do a different brand at the weekend. Here's a pic of the one today, the only one I've done.

Yes am in the UK! Phoned the gp today and apparently the procedure has changed now. They told me to register on My Pregancy Notes and apparently a midwife will be in touch to book the appts in etc. If you goggle it, it should pop up! I think I will be 5 weeks tomorrow.

@Itsjustme20 you'll have to keep us posted! I had an appt with my gp on CD 56 on the last/long cycle and he told me to wait another month and call back. Luckily I also was ovulation testing and got the LH surge on CD 62. I still don't get it at all and I honestly so was so frustrated at the time! But defo keep doing opks and pregnancy tests, either way you'll find out what's going on! Xx
