Very nervous about it, but happy too. I actually went to the place(shopping centre) I got the positive with my dd for good luck
My dh thinks I'm mad but hey don't they all

ALBS glad your finally able to admit your pregnant

Lissie glad your getting that referal at last
ilts sorry it didn't happen this time

Thanks ladies it was six weeks yesterday so I bet she will be here soon unless a BFP is lurking although I doubt this very much.

Hope your scan goes well Kasha, try to relax but keep busy - so mumsnet all week it is!!!

sfxmum · 14/01/2008 12:41

congratulations to all BFP I am very happy for you

here I am definitely ovulating, after first post mc AF, was talking to dh last night a bout it I really cannot even contemplate trying now not yet anyway

ronshar · 14/01/2008 12:26

Congratulations to all the ladies with BFPs. I am so . Yipee I can say it with out feeling like an absolute cow.

I think that this weekend should have been my ov time but to be honest I have been having funny cramp like feelings since Thursday. So who knows.
Also my DH seems to be unable to understand the need to actually have sex when trying to get pregnant. I mean really we have 2dds. I have had two MC's. It isnt as if he is new to this is it???

Oh well shall try again tonight and see if we havent missed the boat. If he isnt too tired of course.

KashaSarrasin · 13/01/2008 23:31

Evening all

Becaroo - that's fantastic news - congratulations! I hope you have a very peaceful and uneventful pregnancy

lilypink Hcg bloods sounds like a good plan, I tried to persuade my GP for this this time but nothing doing (grrr...). Symptoms do come and go, I do hope you have a sticky bean this time.

coolkat Sorry you had a horrible day and hope your DD is OK . Being in a foul PMSy mood seems to be an early pg sign for me (don't want to worry you though!) I waited about 6 wks post mc#1 for AF which seems average.

I had another bleed overnight (all OK at my 2am pee, but a wipeful at my 7am pee) but none since, still feeling sick and other symptoms though (like getting up to pee several times a night!), but much more of this and I may have to be carted off in a straitjacket . I tested again this afternoon and now the test line is stronger than the control line so I guess that's another hopeful sign.

Now I just have to get through Monday and Tuesday, scan booked for 11.40 Wednesday, it seems an age away.

Emmsy1 · 13/01/2008 22:30

coolcat I think my AF returned about 6 weeks after both my recent M/C and some people wait longer.I hope the next few weeks get a lot easier for you all x
Lilypink Try to remain calm in this situation as stress is not good for you. When you ring the EPU I hope they listen to you. If they decide not to then please 'threaten' them with as much as you can possibly think of until they take notice!
I really hope you don't have to go through that though, and that your pregnancy goes to full term! best wishes x
Kasha really pleased that you are 'throwing up' fingers crossed that all the 'yuk' dries up soon!x
ALBS so very pleased for you sweetheart!x
Beckaroo already posted congrats to you on the other site, but no harm in posting again, so CONGRATULATIONS

sweetkitty · 13/01/2008 22:02

becaroo - great news congratulations, hope the dreaded 12 weeks fly past without event.

coolkat - AF can take a while to turn up after a mc, don't worry about BDing if it were to happen it would happen. Sounds like you had an horrible day, G&B's and wine will sort you out for sure.

TJuice · 13/01/2008 19:23

congratulations!
that is wonderful news and so quick too. amazing. fingers crossed that the first 12 weeks whizz by and that knicker-checking is just knicker-checking with no drama.

xxx

becaroo · 13/01/2008 18:55

Hello all.

Got a bfp yesterday. Only 4 weeks + 3 so not telling anyone in RL yet, but felt I wanted to tell you all who have been so supportive after my mc in December.

Can't really believe it

Ringing EPU tomororow. They are going to do some bloods to check hcg levels and then (assuming all is ok) I will get 2 early scans to check things are OK.

Knicker checking like mad already!!!!!!

coolkat · 13/01/2008 18:42

Hi ladies, I know I do not frequent on here often but I do try to follow. I am keeping fingers crossed for all thosse inlimbo and its nice to see some positive stories sweetkitty.

I had my mc on Dec 2nd and still no AF. We have BD using no contraception (tut tut tut) but I do not think at the right times which is fine as I just want AF to come and us be able to start again. Should she not have arrived by now?

I have been vile this past week and trouble is I know I am doing it but can't seem to stop - poor DH. We end up rowing as he obviously bites back.

Not helped today as pranged his beloved car on a concrete pot - bastard thing why did I not see it this was at horse riding where DD had an accident when horse 'tripped' and she bit through her lip.

Sorry for moaning I suppose I am off loading as its been a shit day. Off to eat a bar of green and blacks, will moan I am fat tomorrow

Lilypink · 13/01/2008 17:40

Thank you everyone for your lovely messages, so nice as I don't like to talk about it in RL.

I am going on holiday in 4 weeks and I so much want it to be resolved one way or another before then, so I might ask for the HCG level blood tests. Will phone EPU this week and see if I need a GP referal.

In regards to tryin again after MC I try straight after AF and find it helps me come to terms with loss. But then thats me, not good at waiting.

sweetkitty · 13/01/2008 16:27

ALBS - great news sounded like what I had with this one as well, I had a few bleeds at 10 weeks and like you thought "is this again?" but I managed to basically lie and get a scan at 13 weeks and all is well. Now why aren't you on the Due in July thread? You must be due then?

hackneybird - so sorry to hear about your mc, with regards trying again we wanted to straigt away but waited until the bleeding had stopped but this was too late as a had a period about 3 weeks after the MC (just goes to show how quick your body can get over it), I had one other period and I was pregnant again the next. The first 12 weeks were horrible I refused to believe I would have a baby at the end of it, kind of a defence mechanism I guess but baby is doing well and I'm 15 weeks now. Remember 2 mcs in a row is rare

cricri · 13/01/2008 15:59

Hi everybody, hope you're all OK.
ALBS great news about your little bean. I'm so pleased for you.
Kasha Glad to hear the bleeding has stopped and that pg symptoms have returned.
Lilypink Thinking of you at this worrying time. I really hope your little bean is hanging in there...
I completely identify with the fear of mc once I get pg again, but I'm trying to stay positive and hope that mmc was a one-off. If another mc happens then I'll have to deal with it if happens. It's very hard though and I do have occasional dark moments when I get absolutely petrified at the thought of another mc. However, I try to stay focused on the thought of a baby. I also know that I have support from everybody here, which helps enormously as there aren't many people in RL I can talk to about all this.
Hackneybird I started ttc again as soon as the mc bleeding stopped and didn't wait for AF. There is no real reason to wait for AF, although some doctors advise it for pg dating purposes. However, it's easy to get accurate dates with scans. What is more important is making sure you're ready psychologically. Personally I just wanted to get on with it and get pg as soon as possible (although I'm still waiting ) but everybody is different. Wait until the bleeding has stopped in any case and see how you feel then.

hackneybird · 13/01/2008 14:22

Trying to decide when to try again is hard isn't it?

I have literally just had an m/c - I passed everything Friday and yesterday morning. It was enormously painful in every way, but thanks to the wonderful MN I had done my reading and knew what to expect.

I want to try again immediately although like everyone else I am terrified it will happen again. I feel that I will never know the joy of being able to enjoy a pregnancy and will worry constantly the whole time.

So at what stage after your mc did you all start trying again (if you did)? Did you wait for your first AF to show up?

xx

Verso · 13/01/2008 12:19

Thanks, as ever, for all your supportive words. It really helps to know I'm not alone. DH and I had long chats last night about it all and though I still feel scared, I know I definitely want to try again.

sfxmum · 13/01/2008 10:42

good morning ladies

hope the little beans are holding on

Verso - my feelings on this seem to be all over the place really, 2 of my mc were blighted ovum so the embryo did not get to develop at all, I don't know what happen on the previous ones.

I very much take into account the possibility of having another mc once I get pregnant again, as for being ready well, I can't give up hope just yet and when the line comes up I will be positive and I will hope again and I will just have to let it happen.
No amount of 'preparation' really mitigates the pain you feel when it all comes undone but in the meantime there is hope

kate2179 · 13/01/2008 10:19

lilypink so sorry you're having a crap time. I know nothing will really make you feel better apart from a scan showing a healthy bean with a strong heartbeat waving back at you, but for the mean time you could try any of the following:

  1. The odds of a third mc are tiny compared to the odds of 1 or 2
  2. Could you get your doc to do repeat hcgs to tell you what's going on before you can get a scan?
  3. If you see a hb at 7 or 8 weeks your chances of mc fall hugely
  4. Thousands, in fact millions, of women sail through their pregnancies without ever feeling symptoms, sore boobs, sickness etc, in fact a friend of mine only went for an early scan because she didn't really believe it as no symptoms. She is due in 4 weeks Just because your symptoms fade does not necessarily mean it's all over.
  5. We're all here for you no matter what {{{hugs}}}

verso TOTALLY identify with what you're saying. I don't think any of us will ever feel ready for another mc. Just have to focus on having a healthy pg instead! Good luck.

lilypink oh no - I hope it's just temporary disappearance of symptoms and everything's OK tomorrow, and that your little bean will be sticky this time.

ALBS Fantastic! You must be so relieved.

verso I know exactly what you mean - all this "wait until you feel ready" isn't much help, because you'll never feel "ready" for another m/c. I think no matter how long you wait a pg after m/c will always be an emotional rollercoaster

I haven't had any more red blood, just some brown gunk (sorry TMI) today. And after worrying yesterday that I wasn't feeling sick enough, I've certainly made up for it today with really bad nausea from the second I woke up (if it's a sign that things are going OK, long may it last!).

Lcy · 12/01/2008 21:50

Verso - i totally identify! I desp wanted a baby after mc but didnt feel ready emotionally and even cried the first time we had sex again (poor DH!). I did alot of thinking before we tried again. I wanted a baby but i didnt want to ever experience a mc again. DH pointed out that there is only one way to make a baby! i did some reading and Lesley Regan says that if they find nothing wrong on your tests you have a very good chance of having a healthy baby next time. I tried to think about it like child birth - very painful and no one would go through it apart from to have a baby. Mc is also very painful (esp emotionally) and no one would attempt pregnancy again apart from to have a healthy baby. I wish i could promise you that it wont happen again - i cant - but your chances of a healthy baby are high and it will be so worth it in the end.

Sorry a bit rambled x

Verso · 12/01/2008 19:32

I actually came on here to get views on how do you 'know' when it's time to try again? I am ready physically - AF out of the way, temping, OPKs ready etc... but then full of tears today in M&S cafe (of all places) because there was a baby at the next table having some puree...

I'm ready to have a BABY but I'm not ready to have another miscarriage. Can anyone identify?

Verso · 12/01/2008 19:30

Lilypink - I am so sorry for what you're going through. It really isn't YOU or your body being 'crap'. It's so so hard. I had my second missed m/c before Christmas and though I am very lucky and my NHS hospital investigates after two miscarriages not the usual three, the consultant told me after lots of investigations that THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ME.

Now, you'd think I'd be happy with that diagnosis - but no. I was kind-of hoping there would be a definitive answer and a solution, so that next time will be different.

Sometimes m/cs happen for no reason, or a reason it's impossible to determine after the event. It's so so hard and unfair and painful - but that's how it works. I haven't yet got my head round it. I hope this pg sticks for you...

MollieMooma · 12/01/2008 17:13

Albs - such fantastic news, so pleased for you, no need to apologise for your panicky post, I'm sure we would all be exactly the same in your position.
Lilypink - please don't blame yourself, I know it's hard but you don't know for definate yet this one might be a keeper. Why don't you contact the EPU to see when the earliest is that they will scan you, so you don't have to wait too long?
Only experiencing my first m/c at the moment(and still waiting for final scan and to book the ERPC) I know how frustrating it is too wait, I can't begin to imagine what it must be like when it's repeated.
Hope you can try and relax, put your feet up and do something to take your mind off it, like demolish loads of naughty food!

Lilypink · 12/01/2008 14:50

So glad for you ALBS - that is exaclty the news we all wanted to hear, I can imagine your absolute joy - thank god for that lovely A&E

I'm sorry but I need to rant. I am so angry and upset. I am sure that I will lose this pg too.

The exact same thing is happening as before - I have tender boobs - test and then within 24 hours all symptoms gone and then few weeks later I lose it. I tested yesterday - had sore boobs and not today, nothing at all.

I am really angry with the bloody hosp policy of '3 M/C' before they investigate. Surely it was obvious when I M/C July then Nov both at very early stages that something is wrong - probably progesterone. So why am I having to go thro this ALL OVER AGAIN

I am only 4 weeks tomorrow and 1st time I physically lost it at 6 weeks second time at 10 weeks so now I have to go through all that wait - again. I am furious furious furious. Also with my body too for being so crap at nuturing a little baby - what is wrong with me?

aquababe · 12/01/2008 12:57

albs don't be sorry we've all been there. Fantastic news to hear your ok
