Cece So sorry to hear about your experiences at the hospital this morning. Hope your GP is helpful when you ring her. Sorry, I also don't anything about enlarged uterus either. But given what you've been through it must take your body time to settle down again?
Ceedub So sorry that you're going through this at the moment. I also had a mmc and miscarried naturally. Everybody is different, but when I started bleeding it took 4 days for it to get really heavy and pass clots and stuff (sorry, TMI). The heavy bleeding lasted 2 days and then tailed off. In total I think I bled for 10 days. I had a scan on day 2 of the heavy bleeding (when I was booked in for the ERPC) and was told that everything had gone and that I didn't need to come back unless the bleeding got very heavy. I was in some discomfort with the heavy bleeding, but took some painkillers and it was OK. Physically I was back to normal very quickly (AF arrived 29 days after the heavy bleeding). Psychologically is a different matter, but I've found this thread really helpful. Talking really does help in getting through this awful experience. Take care of yourself and ((hugs)).

Hi everyone,

pretty sure I'm going through a missed miscarriage at the moment. Started bleeding on saturday, then it stopped, then started again on Monday so rushed into hospital for tests etc, only to be told at scan on Tuesday that embryo probably stopped growing at week 5 or 6. I would have been 11+1 today. They coudn't say 100% though, so I have to go in for another scan on Tuesday morning.
Since then, the bleeding has definitely increased, though it's not really anything more than a period. I know this is what everyone asks, but does anyone have any advice as to how long it might take to finish 9assuming I'm no longer pregnant, which my dates would suggest was the case)

Any advice would be very helpful. Am hoping it's all over soon

TJuice · 17/01/2008 12:42

good luck, cece. so sorry that you are going through all this. hope its nothing serious. xxx

cece · 17/01/2008 12:28

My GP was lovely this morning so hoping she will be equally nice in half an hour when I phone up to discuss the scana dn whether I need to take the AB's she has prescribed me. She kept muttering about endometrious... in the appointment this morning.

sfxmum · 17/01/2008 12:24

so sorry cece that woman must have been from the same mould as the cow whoi asked me the same when I went to check it was all gone

sorry no advice on enlarged uterus, the retained products however can lead to infection although not always
jope your GP is more helpful

cece · 17/01/2008 12:20

It didn't help that the woman didn't bother to read the form GP had filled in and asked how many weeks pregnant I was.

cece · 17/01/2008 12:19

Just got back after leaving house at 9.50.

What a morning. Went to GP who then sent me to EPU - last place I wanted to go - for a scan to see if I had anything left inside after Hope's birth last month.

Turns out there is something there but difficult to see because of the bleeding ... She called it an 'irregularity' and my uterus is sligthly larger than it should be. Anyone any experience of this?

Waiting to speak to GP again when she finishes surgery to see if I have to go back once bleeding has stopped for another scan .

I was Ok till I got to the reception desk of sonographers and then it all came flooding back - what happened last month - and had to be led to a private room for a sob

MollieMooma · 17/01/2008 11:46

Hackney sorry to hear your news our thoughts are with you and don't beat yourself up about not speaking to the girl at the hospital, your both going through the mill I doubt she even noticed you there.
Well I'm more uncomfortable today and definately sadder, yesterday felt really positive and on top of the world, not so today. Bit grouchy too, dh just rang to moan about how tired he is and how crap work is, I was so put out that he didn't ask after me, how selfish am I? He doesn't even realise then why I'm so quiet, and have a small strop on him!
I hope it's hormones!

kate2179 · 17/01/2008 09:53

oops post to jules on wrong thread sorry!

kate2179 · 17/01/2008 09:51

Thanks jules, I'll give them a ring now.

Hackney so sorry for what you are going through. I don't imagine there's anything you could have said or done to make that poor girl feel any better, look after yourself xx

ronshar · 16/01/2008 22:46

Hackney. I am so so sorry. It is one of the hardest things a woman has to go through. It is as though our whole reason for living is not valid as each of our pregnancies fail. Try not to be too hard on yourself for not offerring comfort. You were probably not in the right place yourself as you were also trying to come to terms with the loss of your baby.
Use this thread to work through how you feel. I have and to be honest I really dont know how I would have got through the last 11 months without it.

hackneybird · 16/01/2008 22:34

Hello all

Kasha I am so pleased for you, and my heart goes out to everyone else who is recovering from recent trauma.

Well today I had my follow up scan to confirm the failure of the pregnancy. I didn't have to have the ERPC as I mc'd here at home at the weekend , which was 'lucky' as the doc put it as they had no beds available so they would have cancelled me anyway.

While I was waiting at the EPU another girl was sitting in the waiting room in tears. When they called her in she could barely walk and it was clear that she was already bleeding badly. It was so upsetting to see her like that as as I now know what it is like. I wish I had gone over to her and given her a tissue and said something nice but I felt rooted to the spot and just didn't know what to say or whether she would even have welcomed it. I don't know why I'm sharing this, but I have been thinking of her all day.

ronshar · 16/01/2008 21:25

Well lily thats nothing. There are some around here that seem to spend their time searching for their Cervix. At least you can do yours in public
That is good news though isnt it. Something is still happening!

Lilypink · 16/01/2008 21:21

Kasha how fabulous!!!!

Ronshar will phone again tomorrow for results - more fluid from boobies this pm By the way I do spend my time doing things other than prodding myself

ronshar · 16/01/2008 20:59

Lily I hope you get a good result with your bloods. Have you got them yet?

ronshar · 16/01/2008 20:56

Brilliant news Kasha. It is always such a joy to see the little bean wiggling and the sound of the heart beat is the best sound in the world. Actually no it is the second best. The first best is the sound a newborn makes when they arrive in the world. I have heard about 60 times and it never fails to make me cry.
I am feeling slightly sick but that has more to do with the bag of jelly babies I have eaten to cheer me up. It has not worked. Feel horrible as the sugar is driving me mad. That will teach me!

Cece, keep an eye out for increased pain, sharp or stabbing as it could be possible for you to have an infection as already mentioned. It could be (sorry no better term to use) retained products. Sorry it is horrible to say it that way.

Emmsy1 · 16/01/2008 20:49

Kasha excellent news, I had a few tears reading your post,so very happy for you!x
cece hope you feeling better hun x
Lilypink fingers crossed for you! I hope your bloods are ok xx

cece · 16/01/2008 16:38

Thanks for that
have decided to see Gp in the morning if still bad tomorrow.

Seems to have eased off a bit for now. So hopefully I will have an OK night - if not I'll be bakc on here!

Good news for scans today btw!

sfxmum · 16/01/2008 16:31

hope you get it sorted soon, the last thing you need is pain, might actually be bladder infection and nothing to do with with AF like I said never had pain at least not on the ones I can remember

cece · 16/01/2008 16:17

This isn't just cramps it is pain in the vagina/bladder? as well. Not sure where it feels kind of all over down there.

Waiting for midwife to return my answerphone message

sfxmum · 16/01/2008 16:16

kasha wonderful news

cece m with mine I had cramps stronger than my usual periods which are not very painful to start with.
does the discharge smell diferent? offensive? do you have a temperature? if so you might need to consider an infection, it does happen sometimes and clears up with ABs

cece · 16/01/2008 16:08

Should my first AF after mc be this painful?

It is agony and then goes and then comes back and so on.

MollieMooma · 16/01/2008 15:20

Brilliant News Kasha, so very very pleased for you sending you and Kate lots of sticky sticky thoughts x
Thanks for all the advice re the ERPC girls, much appreciated, has put my mind at rest. Just got to get my head round this rhesus negative stuff now as we found out that yesterday, gonna check out the internet to see what they say. Think it just means a few more injections if I get pg again.

cricri · 16/01/2008 14:46

Fantastic news Kasha! What a relief - enjoy your nap!

kate2179 · 16/01/2008 14:41
