KashaSarrasin · 17/01/2008 22:50

Still bleeding heavily, now with clots but no cramping yet. It looks like this is going to be miscarriage no. 3

Thanks for all your wellwishes, I'm going to bed to try and get some sleep. I can't believe this is happening again, I was so reassured to see the heartbeat yesterday, everything was fine, what the hell went wrong???

cece · 17/01/2008 22:44

Oh no Kasha! Hope the bleeding has stopped.

ClairePO · 17/01/2008 22:35

sfxmum · 17/01/2008 21:30

big hugs to you Kasha

Emmsy1 · 17/01/2008 21:09

Oh Kasha, I'm so sorry you have started to bleed, try and keep off your feet for as long as possible, that's what the doc told me last time I started to bleed! Unfortunately for me, I found that impossible with having small children and I did go on to M/C, he really believed that rest and feet up could stop the bleeding,so please give it a go hun. I will be thinking of youxxx

Shit shit shit. I'm bleeding.

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and felt a gush, lots of red blood Lay down for an hour and of course still bleeding when I stood up again and can't tell how much I'm bleeding now. I'm not cramping at all, and trying to tell myself at least that's a good thing. I can't believe this is happening only a day after seeing the hb .

There's nothing I can do at the moment, will call GP in the morning and try and get an EPU appointment, wonder how long I'll have to wait this time

sfxmum · 17/01/2008 18:10

sounds good lissie

coolkat sorry maybe curling up in bed is what you need right now

OracleInaCoracle · 17/01/2008 18:07

"MC avengers, still here, still eating cakes. 2008 is OUR year"

hackneybird · 17/01/2008 17:54

Maybe someone should start a new thread for January, as this one is getting a touch unwieldy.

xx

coolkat · 17/01/2008 16:32

Hi ladies
AF arrived. Its really painful

Feel really sad like I just want to go bed as its like doublly confirming miscarriage IYSWIM.

Sorry for me post. Gotta go DD due at dentist. X

hackneybird · 17/01/2008 15:04

Hi cecedub

I have just been through exactly the same experience. Last week I had a little bleeding, was 11+2 when I was scanned but it had only reached 6 weeks.

In the week in between my first scan and the confirmation scan I mc?d naturally at home. It was like a very heavy period that gradually got heavier and heavier, and correspondingly painful, over the course of 3/4 days.

As it increased I passed lots of clots and tissue material. On the 4th morning (Saturday) I was woken up at 6 am by severe cramping pain. I had to get up as it was so uncomfortable, and I left my husband in bed. I soon realised that I was having contractions of sorts as the cramps were coming every two minutes and would last for 30 seconds. During the contractions I couldn?t even stand up it was so painful, but deep breathing helped massively. I was having to change a sanitary pad every 40 mins or so. This went on for about 3 hours, I passed more material and then it was over. I felt calm and relieved afterwards, had a shower and went back to bed.

Since then I have been bleeding very very lightly and it has almost stopped. I am pleased I did it at home rather than having surgical intervention.

I?m so glad for Mumsnet ? if I hadn?t read about the experiences of others I wouldn?t have understood what was happening and would have been really freaked out. But I was prepared.

Thinking of you.

cricri · 17/01/2008 15:01

Ceedub As sfxmum says, sometimes there seems to be no reason why it happens. I recently read Lesley Regan's book on miscarriage and found it really useful. There is a section on mmc and it answered a lot of my questions. I also found it hard to understand how my body had continued to think I was pg and that I was having all the pg symptoms even though the baby had stopped developing weeks previously (I found out at what I thought was 13 weeks and at the scan I was told it stopped developing at 5-6 weeks). Nature is very cruel

sfxmum · 17/01/2008 14:41

ceedub - sorry you are going through this it is quite sad.
I had a mc in early December and bled for about 2wks but not very heavily, I found passing the sac quite upseting. In my case the embryo and sac had stopped developing at about 5wks but I only found out at 9wks.
on a previous mc the embryo had not developed at all but the sac carried on almost normal for dates until 12wks when we found out, on that occasion I opted for an EPRC as I felt it would be less traumactic.

reasons why are hard to come by really

OracleInaCoracle · 17/01/2008 14:40

hi ladies. I'm officialy back! on CD7 and taking angus castus, folic acid and pregnacare. dh is about to get lucky

cece, im so sorry that this is happening to you, i cant imagine what you must be going through. i wish i could take it all away x

ceedub · 17/01/2008 14:32

Thanks cricri, that's really helpful and very reassuring to hear you were able to get over the physical side of it so quickly. Know what you mean about the psychological side, so am really grateful for the support.
does anyone know why this happens? (i mean, i know that the part of the egg responsible for producing hormones keeps doing its bit, even if the embryo doesn't develop, but why doesn't it all stop at the same time like with most miscarriages?).
