In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

Happy birthday @Moocher90

ChinChilly · 24/09/2021 08:48

@Tillybabs I said to my OH do you think we've left it too late? And he rightly said we did the right thing and waited until we were in the right position. I do sometimes thing what if we had started trying 5 years ago. The inflammation could well be causing issues.

Tillybabs · 24/09/2021 08:13

@ChinChilly my cycles are regular too! I just think I left it too late thinking I would be ok. I've had bfps in the past so just assumed all would be ok.

Since I had antibiotics in January I've had an issue with inflammation of the uterus and I think this has played a massive part in why nothing has happened. I'm hoping my acupuncture and diet change helps but also the fertility clinic will take a look. I just have to pray I have at least 1 good egg make it past blast.

ChinChilly · 24/09/2021 07:39

@TheDaydreamBelievers @MissC07 @Tillybabs Yup, my cycles are regular so i can only imagine how you ladies feel with irregular ones. The thought of a BFP gives me mixed emtions to be honest, I find myself looking at pregnant women and thinking why does your body know what to do and mine doesn't 🤔 it doesn't really effect OH i don't really tell him anymore to be honest I think we're both just plodding along til our appointment.

@Moocher90 try not to get down about it you've got plans in place soon anyway even if it doesn't happen naturally, I had a wobble on my birthday when I turned 30 but it is what it is at the moment.... happy birthday 💐

Moocher90 · 23/09/2021 22:58

Not* not nothing

Moocher90 · 23/09/2021 22:58

@Kay00 sorry to hear about your step mum

So I would have been CD22 tomorrow but AF got me today what makes it harder is that in 1 hours time I will be 1 year older :( and still nothing pregnant! And all I seem to be hearing is other pregnancy announcements around me.

Tillybabs · 23/09/2021 22:51

@TheDaydreamBelievers it also affected my OH to the point where he wasn't performing on some occasions or nothing much came out so I definitely think that impacted our chances at those times. I really do hope for bfps for us all soon.

Tillybabs · 23/09/2021 22:49

@TheDaydreamBelievers yes I totally get what you mean. It has really become robotic every month and at times when I think not to bother, we then end up dtd just in case it's that time! But it takes the enjoyment out of it

We've been trying for over a year now with no hint of a bfp. It does start to wear you down so I totally get what you are saying.

Maybe stop tracking for a bit. Have a break away together if you can

MissC07 · 23/09/2021 22:20

@TheDaydreamBelievers I really get down about it sometimes. When I was actively trying and tracking everything it took any sort of enjoyment out of it for me and I just constantly felt on edge and anxious. Looking back I'm sure it impacted my OH too as he felt pressured to 'perform'. Now I'm under a different sort if pressure with not knowing what the hell is going on with my body. But I have stopped tracking altogether and it's provided a small relief although it does still play in the back of my mind. I hope your day improved and you're feeling a bit better this evening.

Kat668 · 23/09/2021 16:27

@Kay00 I'm so so sorry to hear about your step mum. Sending you the biggest hugs and love and thinking of you x

Sunshinedaisybuttermellow · 23/09/2021 13:34

@TheDaydreamBelievers I know how you're feeling. I haven't been trying as long as you or a lot of the others, but it all feels a bit much. We hardly ever have sex because we want to, it's just a case if well today I might get pregnant so we better had.

I've not tracked anything at all this month because we were away and it was nice actually. We just had sex because we wanted to. But now I know I likely ovulated last week or early this week so I'm hyper aware.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/09/2021 12:57

Guys, does anyone else just feel super out of energy to hope and to try? I know some of you have been on this train longer than me but I'm just so dead about it all - no decent cycles, rare ovulation, endless blooming plugging away, sex planned to TTC not for fun and love, no BFP that results in an actual baby. Just feeling really done with it today!

@Kay00 So sorry about your step mum. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and I hope the clomid cycle goes well. How have you been feeling on Metformin?

CD142 for me... just waiting for my gynae appointment on Tuesday!

PinkFizz1 · 22/09/2021 14:58

@Juno231Hi, thanks! The plan is to use condoms until Christmas but I can’t see either of us lasting that long tbh. I really want to get my cycle back ideally but might just go with the not trying, not preventing way sooner rather than later!

It’s all very exciting and scary.

Juno231 · 22/09/2021 14:28

@PinkFizz1 welcome! Wise of you to stop a few months before xmas, just in case it take a while to settle :) Will you be using alternate protection in the meantime do you think or kinda "not trying, not preventing"?

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm sorry to hear you've had a loss too. I lost my grandmother to it back in Jan and haven't been able to see my family since Dec 2019 so it's been tough seeing my mum suffer from afar.

PinkFizz1 · 22/09/2021 14:15

Hi ladies, can I join?

This is day 4 off the pill, been on it for 15 years. No periods the last 11 years on the mini pill so really intrigued as to what my body is actually going to do…

Already have sore boobs and sickness (not pregnant just the pill withdrawal).

Plan is TTC #1 after Xmas but tbh I can’t see us lasting that long before giving up being careful!

Good luck and lots of baby dust to you all 💜

TheDaydreamBelievers · 22/09/2021 13:53

@Kay00 I'm so sorry that your stepmum has been so badly hit by this horrible disease. I really feel for you.

DH and I are both fine but have had our own family bereavement so between that and covid19 we havent been very much in the mood for DTD either.

@Kay00 I'm so sorry to hear about your step mum, sending you hugs.

MissM94 · 22/09/2021 10:35

@Juno231 so sorry you're having such a bad time, I'm keeping everything crossed that she makes a full recovery ♥️

Juno231 · 22/09/2021 10:16

@Kay00 oh I'm so sorry to hear about your step mum :( It's all so unfair. Poor woman just beat cancer too. Maybe look at BD tomorrow as a loving comfort thing? Heck wouldn't be the first time I'd cry during BD.

ChinChilly · 22/09/2021 08:26

@Kay00 Sorry to hear about your step mum, it must be really tough for you now, the expression 'it never rains it pours' comes to mind. Sending you a virtual hand hold ❤

Tillybabs · 22/09/2021 07:21

@Kay00 sorry to hear about your stepmum . How cruel that she had cancer and then the dreaded Covid!

You must be all over the place at the moment with everything going on in your house too I feel it for you.

Kay00 · 22/09/2021 00:14

Hi ladies! I hope you're all well. Sorry I have been off the radar for a little while. My life has become very busy and complicated recently and I haven't had any time to myself. My sis in law has moved in with us (she fled her abusive bf) and brought her pregnant dog (who gave birth to 7 puppies on the weekend)... so that's 10 dogs and 3 humans in the house!

On top of that my step mum is on life support in hospital with Covid. She's not expected to make it through tonight. I'm sat up crying, wishing I could go visit her. It's an absolute tragedy 💔 😢

@thedaydreambelievers I hope this doesn't scare you. My step mum had a reduced immune system following chemo for cancer last year, that's why the Covid has hit her so hard. I hope you make a quick and full recovery xx

@Tillybabs sorry you had a BFN, your IC looked very promising x

@ShellUK09 sorry about the CP xx

@CharWils and @MissM94 huge congratulations to you both!! Please keep us updated with your progress xx

I'm on CD10 of my first Clomid cycle. I need to try and DTD tomorrow 🤦‍♀️ I cant imagine it will be particularly romantic given the circumstances! Just my luck! My scan is on Mon 27th.

ChinChilly · 21/09/2021 21:10

@Kat668 thank you, just waiting for November to come around.

@Juno231 I'll check her out, thanks! I really like the look of it but the price tag is cringe
