In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

@Carolinesturn since March so coming up 5 months, definitely still in the 'body getting used to it' phase 😂
7dpo could be implantation maybe? They say between 7 and 14 days so everything crossed for you it's that and not AF!!

MissC07 · 21/07/2021 20:10

@Juno231 they were taken on CD72. I'm going to ask for a copy of the results when they call me about my scan results. TBH I'm fed up of walking around like a ticking time bomb at the moment. It's my birthday next week and I just know AF will probably turn up then! Although my attached chart isn't showing any signs of anything 😔

@Kat668 I think coming off the pill can make your lp shorter, how long have you been off it? I'm worried about the same, currently 7dpo but cramping today, no sign of anything yet but my heart is in my mouth every time I go to the toilet, if I can just last to Sunday/Monday with no spotting I'd be so relieved

Kat668 · 21/07/2021 17:55

@Juno231 my cycles have been different every time since coming off the pill but they're usually longer so I don't know, unfortunately I didn't track ovulation this month. But I did have very noticeable EWCM on CD12-14 which would make my luteral phase 11 days. Is that enough time do you reckon? If my cycles stay this length I mean. Still learning so much 😅
I swear women have been gaslighted so much about how easy conceiving is 😒

Juno231 · 21/07/2021 17:48

@Kat668 25 and 26 day cycles are perfectly normal as long as your LP is in the double digits?

@MissC07 what day of your cycle were the tests done and please tell me you have the actual results as well? A lot of GPs don't know squat about this stuff.

Kat668 · 21/07/2021 17:43

Hi guys, it's been a while since I came on here. Been a really horrible stressful month and just needed a break. Unfortunately my period started today, only CD25 so early. Think it's because I had my second vaccine this month. When I had the first one my cycle was only 26 days so too much of a coincidence to not be caused by it! Disappointed even though I'd pretty much written this month off with everything that's been happening.
Hope you're all OK and not sweltering too much!

CharWils · 21/07/2021 15:51

Can someone send me the link to the page with the rates for conception on O-1, O-2 etc please?

MissC07 · 21/07/2021 11:38

@Carolinesturn I've been off the pill for nearly 10 months now. My cycles have been 41, 45 , 42 & 36 days long... now I'm on this mammoth one!!

Carolinesturn · 21/07/2021 11:35

Aw sorry @Kay00 still getting used to the lingo. Well cd7 is a good place to be, period over or nearly over and not worrying too much about LH levels or dtd, and not in that awful 2WW where you drive yourself crazy!

Kay00 · 21/07/2021 11:23

@Carolinesturn alas no! I am on CD7 (day 7, with day 1 being the first day of my period). I think 7DPO isn't technically too early for implantation, so hopefully your cramps and spotting are a good sign!

Carolinesturn · 21/07/2021 10:58

@Kay00 we are on the same day!
@MissC07 how long have you been off the pill for? How frustrating your cycle is taking so long!! Although I've heard a short one is as bad which I'm worried I have

Carolinesturn · 21/07/2021 10:39

Is anyone else in their 2WW? I'm day 7dpo and been having cramps but surely this is too early for implantation, but what else could it be? My progesterone dropping but not bad enough to cause spotting?
Last cycle I got cramps and light brown spotting at 10dpo and full bleed at 14dpo this is my second cycle from the pill

Kay00 · 20/07/2021 22:49

@charwils yes, excellent coverage! Fingers crossed for you xx

Cd7 and nothing to report here 😊

CharWils · 20/07/2021 18:51

Thankyou @Juno231 @ChinChilly and @Tillybabs

So far this cycle currently seems more positive. Waiting for temps to confirm but would you say going on this Ive got a good chance this cycle?

Hopefully this looks like I'm ovulating at an expected time for 29 day cycle unlike the last few months post loss of Jack xx

How is everyone getting on?

Hi ladies - CD78 for me and still nothing. Have just had my blood test results back and the dr said they are 'normal' whatever that means! I've got my scan on Friday so will see if anything comes of that! Hope you are all doing ok

Carolinesturn · 20/07/2021 16:27

@WhirlingD best of luck, please let us know how you get on

WhirlingD · 20/07/2021 16:00

@Carolinesturn thank you. I'll listen to that on catch up. My appointment with the specialist is next week so I'm looking forward to hearing what she has to say about my wildly fluctuating hormones and absent periods!

Carolinesturn · 20/07/2021 13:32

@WhirlingD
I don't know if you were listening to Jeremy vine today but they were discussing the per menopause and had an expert in to discuss. Interestingly she says she doesn't rely on blood tests at all to diagnose and just on symptoms which range from hot flushes to anxiety and depression, and also it can start a whole 10 years before menopause and most people struggle to know what's even happening, I thought it was very insightful

Theosmommy2011 · 20/07/2021 11:35

@MissM94 that looks beautiful 😍 xx

MissM94 · 20/07/2021 07:56

Hi ladies! Hope you're all well, just thought I'd send a little picture of my view from my hotel balcony on my current staycation 😍

Got my nhs gynaecology referral through today. I logged on and there are no appointments available so god knows when any appointments will come free but they will contact me once one does.

Need to book in my private hycosy but waiting for AF to come technically due in about 10 days time.

Had a temp rise today but as I’m away on holiday I haven’t been doing OPKs so am not sure if if I did ovulate or not. Shall see what temps do over the next few days.

Carolinesturn · 19/07/2021 14:00

@Kay00 that's terrible you and your OH had to go through that. I'm not saying this test was wrong about my levels and I may still have a problem there but they shouldn't actually hand out tests that have such a huge impact on your mental health without proper instructions. Tbh it's almost something that you could need counciling for. You wouldn't give a patient bad news in a hospital without a health professional to explain the exact reasons behind the results and how to cope with them psychologically so why can you buy them from eBay for £2.

SkeletonSkins · 19/07/2021 12:45

@Kay00 that’s really reassuring to know, thank you. I think I will ride out this cycle and then contact the doctor etc for bloods and hopefully metformin.

Kay00 · 19/07/2021 11:31

@skeletonskins I am picking up my prescription for Metformin today, and im.a healthy weight. My fertility consultant offered it to me without question as soon as she learned I had PCOS.

@Carolinesturn I would listen to your doctor x I made my oh do one of those cheap sperm tests and it showed he had low sperms count, but when he had a proper test done at the fertility clinic, all was fine xx

Carolinesturn · 19/07/2021 08:52

My nausea seems to have gone, I felt it a bit yesterday morning but it was at its worst on Friday but I was working (physical work) in the baking heat so maybe that had something to do with it. I'm currently 6dpo the main thing I'm looking for this month is (part from a bfp) a period! And hopefully a period without spotting 4 days beforehand like last month. Although my brown spotting started at dpo10 and proper period at dpo 14 so maybe not such an issue that progesterone drops at 10dpo, that maybe still gives enough time for egg to implant.
That menopause test I took has given me a major knock it's made me question my hormones but my GP says I shouldn't take any test during the first few months of coming off the pill, can't help worrying though.
