In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

Congratulations @Carolinesturn

Ladies I'm getting myself into a right panic. I have written notes for my cycles pre and post Jack.

Have classed cycle 1 after my loss as after my first period since as can't remember when I stopped bleeding after birth.

So my current cycle I ovulated CD 15, I was hopeful that it seemed I was ovulating at a normal time however yesterday at 10DPO I started spotting/light period. I have never had spotting or implantation bleeding before so don't really know what the difference is.

I've had the same pad in since yesterday afternoon when it started and there's barely any on the pad, when I wipe there is bright red blood but not huge amounts but to me looks like more than what I would class as a 'few spots' I have cramping too which feels like period but definitely not as heavy as it would be by now. I had my progesterone bloods done at 6DPO and was 28.8 which I'm told means I ovulated.

I have a negative pregnancy test today, had my 2nd covid jab just over a week ago so wonder if that could be affecting it and I have another progesterone test tomorrow as I ovulated so late last cycle. No idea what it will show if I'm implanting or period. If this is a period then it makes this cycle only 25 days long 😥

Any opinions/ideas would be helpful I'm driving myself mad with worry about my cycles appearing so messed up.

My temps from the last 3 days were 15-30 mins later then I normally take them but have kept them in the graph.

I have included a note showing my cycles that I have been TTC both before and after Jack.

Thanks in advance xx

@TheDaydreamBelievers Ooo exciting! I think it's meant to follow a similar pattern to BBT, I'm not 100% sure though I could of just made that up 🤣🤣

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/08/2021 11:12

@ChinChilly still high! We will see what happens.

What are RHRs meant to do? Between stress and hot weather I think mine is pretty nonsense

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 01/08/2021 11:00

@TheDaydreamBelievers how was your temp this morning?

I'm not so sure I did ovulate after yesterday after all as my temp and rhr both dropped this morning, maybe my body had a go but didn't quite make it. I feel really periody so who knows what's going on, kinda just want my period to turn up so I can start a fresh cycle.

@Kay00 ikr! Even if we didnt conceive it'd be a nice neat little cycle

Kay00 · 31/07/2021 20:22

@thedaydreambelievers it would be pretty awesome if you have ovulated on CD18 😁😁😁 I hope your temp stays up. Plus I think your PM DTD on day 18 will have been just in time 🤞🤞🤞

@moocher90 I hope this is it for you too!!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 31/07/2021 10:14

@Juno231 bit worried about the lack of DTD prior to ovulation estimate! We have gotten lax on the start of cycle as to be honest it never happens that fast.

@Tillybabs if dose 1 made you unwell, I'd rebook. If it didnt, then I'd go ahead

OP posts:
Juno231 · 31/07/2021 10:03

@ChinChilly that's good that your cycles aren't toooo messed up post mc

@TheDaydreamBelievers not gonna lie - it looks like the real deal! Fingers crossed it is and well done for getting DTD timed right as well.

@Moocher90 brilliant news! Let's hope this is the one xx

@Tillybabs rebooking it sounds like the best option! I had mine this week and was really ill again... Really took it out of me.

Tillybabs · 31/07/2021 09:52

@ChinChilly I will re-book it for when AF is due

ChinChilly · 31/07/2021 09:46

@Tillybabs I don't think you're being silly, it's a personal decision, maybe just rebook it for when AF is due then you'll know either way.

@TheDaydreamBelievers @Moocher90 fingers crossed this is ovulation for you both

I randomly decided to take an OPK, it was a blazing positive, I think I may of ovulated already though my temp and rhr both went up this morning. I wasn't expecting to ovulate this cycle for some reason.

Moocher90 · 31/07/2021 09:35

Morning all :) @TheDaydreamBelievers I’ve also got solid cross hairs and it says I’m 4DPO today. This is the first time I have ovulated since March so I am really hoping this is the real deal. I have never ovulated this late in a cycle as my cycles are normally 33 days max.

Fingers crossed that it is ovulation for you as well x

Tillybabs · 31/07/2021 09:34

Hi ladies hope all is well.

I'm due my 2nd Covid vaccine next week and it's during possible implantation phase. I'm not going to lie, I'm in two minds about having it.

Am I being silly?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 31/07/2021 09:21

This seems deeply unlikely at CD18 Hmm. I look forward to 2 days time when it inevitably removes these crosshairs

@chinchilly haha... I can very much imagine being in the same boat 😁

@TheDaydreamBelievers I agree, it's annoying that they use different measurements, but there are good conversion calculators online. It's a bit boring/geeky but I suggest getting a spreadsheet open and recording it all I there x

ChinChilly · 29/07/2021 16:27

@Kay00 ahh thanks!

@TheDaydreamBelievers Yep, that drives me mad too! The whole thing is just massively irritating from dealing with GPs to failing to successfully get pregnant and manage to give birth 🙄 for now I'm loosely tracking and enjoying the alcohol 🤣🤣 although I am back at at gym and eating much better, balance is key an all that lol!

The consultant advised we didn't try until I'd seen the guy's at Tommy's but to be honest I'm not going back on the pill, condoms are a kill joy and OH is useless at pulling out so there isn't much prevention going on.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/07/2021 16:22

Thanks @Kay00

The other bit I find so stressful is that its in a million different types of units.

All this talk of test results has me looking back at me although they were done at any day of my cycle so not sure how accurate they are,
FSH 3.7
LH 5.0
Testosterone 1.6
Not sure if they are where they should be 🤷🏼‍♀️

Kay00 · 29/07/2021 15:10

@JoeMalon3y It certainly is stressful, and unfortunately very common! Just try to focus on positive things and try not to let TTC take over you life (I should know, I have been to some very dark places on this journey)!

@TheDaydreamBelievers Yes, haha, that's exactly what I am doing. This new diet is giving me something to plan and focus on whilst I wait for my body to ovulate some mature eggs Grin. My appointment with the fertility clinic is on Tuesday next week, and I'm really hoping she will prescribe me some Clomid.

I'm on CD16 and I'm pretty sure I haven't ovulated yet (which is good because we haven't had sex yet this cycle lol!) I'm pretty sure the two high temps I had were down to my body recovering from the trauma of endurance exercise. I will probably exclude these temps. No other signs of ovulation yet...

Hi Ladies! Just wanted to check in and say hello and happy pre-weekend to you all! I'm still lurking in the shadows like a creep waiting on AF to show up! Cycle Day 88 for me and not a peep of a period or withdrawal...Spoke to the GP on Monday and she says I now have to wait another 3 months before they can do anything to assess what's going on...I don't think they understand the negative mental state that TTC/fertility issues can lead you down...just keep hearing you're young, it will definitely happen 🙄 Love and baby dust to you all and congratulations @Carolinesturn! What a lovely surprise 🥰

TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/07/2021 13:59

Thanks @Kay00! Feeling a bit hopeless again so hoping this will help me channel it into something I can do, y'know?

*don't rule in or out
*life without carbs

Urgh sorry! Typing too fast!

Kay00 · 29/07/2021 13:56

@TheDaydreamBelievers your results look fairly similar to mine (although I never had Progesterone or Androstenedion tests) and don't rule in or our PCOS. The test that really indicated PCOS for me was the AMH test (and then the scan of my ovaries of course).

For PCOS diet I have been doing a lot of research into that recently, and it seems to be a low carb/low sugar diet as carbs/sugars can effect your hormones, and this is exaggerated if you are PCOS with insulin resistance. I'm going to follow a low GI diet but it seems some women go full Keto. Like without carbs (I'm on day 3) isn't too bad so far... and on the low GI you can still eat chocolate (in moderation). I have ordered this book: www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/books/professor-jennie-brand-miller/low-gi-guide-to-managing-pcos/9780340896013?msclkid=7c87ce0e1dab11eac39daf0cb829d222&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=S%20-%20PLA%20-%20Books%20-%20All%20Devices%20-%20%C2%A38.99%20-%20Bing&utm_term=4574724287622263&utm_content=%C2%A38.00%20-%20%C2%A38.99

TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/07/2021 13:48

Sorry, another Q - do any of you have any dietary advice links for PCOS?

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/07/2021 13:17

I just called to chase referral for the scan - was told that they have 'only just restarted clinics' and I have 'only just passed the 12 week minimum wait time so it'll be a while. Arghhhh.

Just re-posting my hormone results in case anyone has any insight, as I know that many people on this thread have had investigations now. Both taken at random points later in cycle (CD 91 and CD 27 respectively).

FSH 1st time - 5.7 2nd time – 6.9 U/L
LH 1st time - 4.5 2nd time – 4.1 U/L
Prolactin 77; 2nd time 105 mU/L
Progesterone 2nd time
