In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm up for that! Need to keep my momentum going, even if the scales are not playing ball

Kat668 · 02/08/2021 12:59

@TheDaydreamBelievers glad your counselling session went well! I'd be interested in the weight loss thread. I'm trying to loose weight now as wondering if that's affecting why I haven't had success yet. But also trying not to overdo the exercise as I know too much can have a negative impact too! 🤪

I had a super realistic dream last night that I got a BFP and was telling my parents. Woke up really upset realising it wasn't real! Urgh it's all getting to me :(

Juno231 · 02/08/2021 12:47

@TheDaydreamBelievers I would love that - I need those kinds of chats to keep me focused :)

TheDaydreamBelievers · 02/08/2021 11:58

Any interest in a TTC weight loss /health thread? I'm just about to creep into obese, which I need to address as it would make me ineligible for any fertility treatments.

@Juno231 I've always hated the scales, I tend to notice a difference in my cloths before the scales move. I'm always tip toeing into the overweight category 🙄 I'm sure you'll hit your target by the end of the month.

@Kay00 I'm about 68kg at the moment, 63 would be my intermediate target then eventually i need to get down to about 57.

@TheDaydreamBelievers glad the counselling went well.

I've had terrible sleep recently I just can't switch off, I'm not getting to sleep until about 1am then up again at 6. Just can't seem to switch off

TheDaydreamBelievers · 02/08/2021 11:31

Had my first counselling app today. Went alright, hopefully will be helpful! She was generally nice.

Woohoo @Juno231 well done

@Juno231 Yass Girl! You can do this!!

When I started Metformin I started a new low sugar, low carb diet (as apparently high sugar and carbs can make the side effects worse). I haven't weighed myself since Sat 17th July when I hit my heaviest weight: over 10 stone (63.5kg), so I'm hoping to lack of sugar + the massive walk I did will have reduced my weight a little... but the only thing I have noticed is that I am more hungry!! Grin

Juno231 · 02/08/2021 11:02

@ChinChilly yeah I remember when I was dieting early last summer and would get really down that nothing was working - then realised when comparing MFP to FF that my weight jumped up around ovulation without fail. Others get bloated with AF though whereas I seem to be at my lightest then I think.

@kay00 amazing on both the no side effects and your body healing so well! I actually gained a pound since yesterday otherwise my weekly weigh in would have been 1.7kg down but that has made me want to buckle down and make sure the trend this week carries on downwards. My first mini goal is 72.1kg as that would bring me into healthy BMI territory (currently overweight) - I'm at 74.3kg today so hoping I can reach it by the end of the month :)

ChinChilly · 02/08/2021 10:44

@Juno231 I think you may be right about ovulation yesterday, will see what my temps are up to over the next few days. I'm pretty sure I'm in a deficit, not tracking though so maybe I should to make sure. Could be right about hormonal fluctuations, i always get bloated around ovulation, it's crap being a woman sometimes 🤣

@Kay00 I'm hoping I've ovulated just for peace of mind my body is getting back into the swing of things. Great news about no side effects from the metformin, fingers crossed it stays that way!

Kay00 · 02/08/2021 10:35

@ChinChilly Its possible Ov day will have been CD27 (today), but I think you will have needed a couple more days of higher temps to prove it one way or another.

@Juno231 My body has healed amazingly fast. Nothing hurts anymore but I have a niggle in my left knee still. I am going to start running again this week with my friend on Friday, and I'm going to try and drag my OH out for a run on Weds.

I started Metformin last Tuesday, and I have to say I have had zero side effects so far! I was expecting nausea and the runs Grin but luckily nothing. I up it from 1 x 5oomg tablet to 2 x per day next week.... hopefully I will see no side effects then either Smile

Juno231 · 02/08/2021 10:31

@ChinChilly I did think when you posted your chart yday that it looked like yday was ovulation day perhaps. Today's temp is higher than the previous 6 so seems in line with that! Two more high temps and you'll be in the all clear hopefully. If you're eating well (at a deficit?) and hitting the gym I suspect it'll be water weight for you - I'm sure you'll get your woosh soon where it drops in one go. Also I gain 2lbs around ovulation normally so maybe if you're having hormonal fluctuations atm it could be hiding your true loss?

ChinChilly · 02/08/2021 10:04

@Juno231 jealous of your weight loss, I've been hitting the gym and eating better and I haven't shifted a pound 🙄

I'm still none the wiser if I ovulated or not, not that I mind not actively trying at the moment, just tracking to see how my cycles are working out post MC

Juno231 · 02/08/2021 09:53

@charwils I second what @TheDaydreamBelievers said. I also think you need to remember it is perfectly normal after an MC for cycles to be a little bit wonky (and yours barely are!) and stop panicking that it's somehow permanent or disastrous. You seem to be spiralling a lot so perhaps some counselling would be good to help you manage it? Apologies if I'm coming off brusque but I've just noticed all of your posts sound fairly distressed and it must be really taking a toll on you to be in that state!

@thedaydreambelievers I'm so pleased that you've ovulated at a normal time this cycle! I've got all my appendages crossed for you xxx

@kay00 how is your body doing?

Lost 1.2kg since last Monday so hoping to keep this up! Got not much else to focus on at the moment lol yet I've STILL not managed to get myself in gear to exercise even once last week... what a lazy bum.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/08/2021 23:08

Thanks @Kay00. I had a sudden panic that you're meant to stop after ovulation

OP posts:
Kay00 · 01/08/2021 22:07

@thedaydreambelievers I take the Myo Insotol (as part of the Conceive plus ovulation support) daily, it advices taking them 4 x a day or two pills twice daily. I take them throughout the month.

@moocher90 woohoo!! So glad you have ovulated!!

Moocher90 · 01/08/2021 21:55

@TheDaydreamBelievers I don’t take it. My cycles are usually around 28-32 days but this one has been abnormally long but wasn’t sure if if it was due to my second covid jab. I’m happy though as I at least ovulated albeit it being CD29. Will have to see now what happens after this cycle x

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/08/2021 21:40

Those of you on myo inositol (@Kay00 @Moocher90) - do you take it all cycle long or only on specific days?

OP posts:
Moocher90 · 01/08/2021 21:32

@TheDaydreamBelievers I’m sure it won’t do any harm! I think someone mentioned it on here before…. I’m tucking in to loads of cheese and gluten free crackers

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/08/2021 21:28

@Moocher90 just noticed mine are now solid crosshairs! Now worrying as am in the bath Hmm

Woohoo @Moocher90!

OP posts:
Moocher90 · 01/08/2021 21:09

Well my temps are still rising and my ovusense also confirmed ovulation today as it has to have 4 consistently high temps before it confirms :) so I am over the moon as its been 3 months since last confirmed ovulation. Now just the tww to contend with and hope I at least have a decent LP

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/08/2021 13:26

If short luteal phase continues, I think B vitamins lengthen it @CharWils?

OP posts:
CharWils · 01/08/2021 13:13

Thankyou @TheDaydreamBelievers. This is definitely a period now so last cycle was 29 days and only 8 days LP, this cycle has been 25 days and only 9 days LP. I have started taking the proceive sachets the last week instead of pregnacare so hopefully they help too as I think they have higher amounts of all the vitamins. Any other suggestions welcome? In the meantime I will 'try' and wait it out and not panic... famous last words! Xx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/08/2021 12:07

Okay, firstly @CharWils I'm not sure I'd call your cycles particularly irregular. Secondly, a luteal phase length of 10+ days is normal. It's only if persistently under 10 that they would be worried. Its great that bloods show you ovulated. I also notice you dont have a lot of pre-ov temps on that chart, which will limit its readability. The vaccine may have very well messed up this cycle a bit. However, cycles can also be irregular for up to 6 months after a loss so it may be that is the case. Big deep breaths, we will get there xox
