In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

Hi ladies, need a bit of advice. I have started spotting today and feel that AF is coming, this will be my first pill free bleed. Would I class this as CD1? TIA xx

@salviapages it's difficult to see in the picture, Sorry xx

ChinChilly · 05/08/2021 15:25

@salviapages I personally can't see anything, but it is hard to tell from a pic. I'm assuming its a pregnancy test and not an OPK, if so it maybe worth creating a new thread for line eyes, you might get more specific responses.

salviapages · 05/08/2021 12:45

Hey all! I came off the pill 30 days ago no period yet and ovulation tests have been all over the place. Took this this morning and I can see a really really faint line?? What do you all think? So faint it's hard to get a photo of

@Tillybabs if IVF is down the pipeline soon, defo just have fun until that starts. A holiday would be good about now 😩

Tillybabs · 05/08/2021 08:39

@ChinChilly thanks and you are right. I will step away from the opks from next cycle and bring back the fun into it. Could do with a holiday tbh!

ChinChilly · 05/08/2021 08:30

@TheDaydreamBelievers boo to your chart! 😔

ChinChilly · 05/08/2021 08:29

@Tillybabs I was going to suggest ditching the OPKs but I know how annoying that suggestion can be when you don't want to.

Try stepping back from TTC and try do some other fun things together or focus on something else. We've not really thought about TTC recently I've been in the gym and focusing on my diet and not baby's and we've had some of the best sex we've had for the past year because it hasn't just been about making a baby, TTC really can turn sex stale.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 05/08/2021 08:28

My chart stayed down today so definitely a massive troll.

Kay00 · 05/08/2021 08:25

I just don't tell OH if/when I'm ovulating as he finds it a big turn off. But he has a very high sex drive, so he is easily persuaded even if I do put him off Grin

Tillybabs · 05/08/2021 08:22

@Juno231 I've just caught up with the thread a bit and congrats on your weight loss.

@TheDaydreamBelievers sorry about your chart that's so annoying. I keep forgetting to temp myself!

Tillybabs · 05/08/2021 08:17

@ChinChilly @TheDaydreamBelievers glad we aren't the only ones.

The annoying this is, before this my OH wanted it all the time! I think he's finding the whole thing stressful 😕 I think I will stop with the opks next month and just see how it goes. Starting IVF soon anyway.

ChinChilly · 05/08/2021 07:41

@Tillybabs I was finding that before the cycle I got my BFP, so I stopped OPKs and temping and tried not to think about it and just had sex when we wanted to and got my BFP (Coincidence), but obviously that BFP didn't end well.
We're not actively trying at the moment but not doing very well at preventing so there hasn't been any scheduled sex and it's been so much better. I think the pressure of DTD at the right time takes the enjoyment out of it, I'm fairly lucky my OH is up for it all the time, even the scheduled sex 🤣

TheDaydreamBelievers · 05/08/2021 00:15

Absolutely @Tillybabs. I have a huge work deadline next monday too and we are both just knackered and xant be bothered. Would quite like to fecking have sex when I actually want to, please!

OP posts:
Tillybabs · 04/08/2021 23:29

Hi ladies

Anyone else finding DTD robotic? After nearly a year of trying, we are struggling a bit. I'm at peak fertile stage and we aren't even doing anything 😫 did yesterday but today OH isn't up for it.

Feeling a bit down about it all today.

MissC07 · 04/08/2021 22:47

@Juno231 @ChinChilly thanks ladies! I'll message them in the morning to ask for an appointment. Everything is still done via phone at the moment 😬

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/08/2021 18:27

@ChinChilly ikr. What a massive troll chart! My bet is that I havent ovulated at all yet

OP posts:
ChinChilly · 04/08/2021 18:06

Being back in the office is so time consuming, no time for a cheeky look on MN. Well FF confirmed ovulation on CD27 so I'm 3dpo at the mo, not that it really matters for the next few cycles.

@MissC07 your GP sounds useless, I'd defo go back and say you've changed your mind on the TTC, everything with the NHS takes so long at the moment it'll probs be new year before the ball starts rolling anyway.

@Kem1234 welcome, have you spoken to your GP? They may well not see you until it's been 12 months but before I had a recent MC my GP agreed to some tests and starting a fertility referral as they take so long it would of taken me up to the 12 month mark at the time anyway.

@TheDaydreamBelievers I feel disappointed at your chart, had everything crossed for you.

Juno231 · 04/08/2021 13:12

@MissC07 it doesn't hurt to try - I'd just tell them you've had a change of heart and you're trying now. These things take ages anyway so I wouldn't want to wait until the New Year and only then get referral processes going.

MissC07 · 04/08/2021 12:36

@Kay00 the GP said 'so we would usually refer you, but as you aren't TTC at the moment (I have been since Nov but we're putting it on hold now until the New Year) just call us when you are.....' But it still doesn't help with my lack of AF!! Do you think I should call them back and ask for a referral as TTC or not, my cycles shouldn't be this wonky...? I'm getting myself so stressed about when AF will arrive which I know doesn't help in itself!!

Juno231 · 04/08/2021 11:22

@MissC07 it's like banging your head against a wall isn't it. Baffling that they have this attitude...

@Kem1234 to add to what Kay00 said - if you have the means and don't want to wait until the year mark I'd advise you to get a fertility MOT (for you and OH) done privately.

Kay00 · 04/08/2021 11:08

Well.... in that case I'm gong to hope your temp shoots back up tomorrow, and we can put it down to a 2nd estrogen surge or implantation (fingers crossed)!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/08/2021 10:58

@Juno231 @Kay00 it was only 30 min earlier so not much at all! I always sit with my mouth closed for 3mins before I press go on the temp wand so sadly not!

OP posts:
Kay00 · 04/08/2021 10:53

@Kem1234 I think its unlikely your GP will be interested unless you have been trying for a year unfortunately. I take Conceive Plus Fertility Support and Conceive Plus Ovulation Support (which includes Myo-inositol, D-chiro-inositol and CoQ10) together and they have really helped bring my cycles down from 45 days (on average) to 30 days. But I know they won't work the same for everyone, and they are expensive, but if you are able to give them a go, then they might work some magic for you too.

Kay00 · 04/08/2021 10:49

@TheDaydreamBelievers hmm.... how much earlier did you take your temp this morning?

@MissC07 Urgh!! That's awful. Technically it can be problematic for women if they has less than 4 x periods a year... but that shouldn't mean that is an acceptable number of periods for a year!? I think you need this to be investigated by a specialist really, can you remind me what your referral status is?

Kem1234 · 04/08/2021 10:47

Should I be able to ask my doctor about this? Or do you think I will need to wait until that year mark? I did try taking conceive plus but noticed no difference so stopped. Any recommendations are welcome.
