In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

@Tillybabs I didn't have a heavy period I just had no period for 2 months 😂 that was from my second jab, was fine after my first! But when they finally came back they've been no different.. however, I started taking vitamins for folic acid and vit D so don't know if it was that aswell? If that's even a thing, read something about it somewhere so wasn't sure if that was a factor

ChinChilly · 21/08/2021 10:51

@Tillybabs I was on about day 3 of my period when I had my first jab and it didn't seem to eftect it but I know it had effected alot of women, I've seen lots say they had heavier periods

Tillybabs · 21/08/2021 10:35

Morning

For those who have had the vaccine, have you had any abnormal periods?

This month my period is abnormally heavy and I have clots. Not sure if it's the vaccine or Covid but when I was having my 2nd dose the nurse asked me if it had affected my period the first time.

MissM94 · 20/08/2021 22:40

@Kay00 congratulations on your promotion!

@Moocher90 sorry to hear about your diagnosis 😕 have a lovely weekend and try not to let it outstay it's welcome on your mind!

Nothing new with me, just riding the TTC wave.. my first month proper trying tbf, wasn't really concentrating on it properly last month! My fertile week starts next week so planning to DTD every other day and then an extra day on CD20 as that's when I normally ovulate so fingers crossed!

Hope everyone's doing well!

Tillybabs · 20/08/2021 17:47

@Moocher90 it really is bittersweet. I literally just said to my cousin that I wish I didn't ask now!

On the call I asked her and then googled it after and then wished I had known before so I could ask how severe mine is.

I'm assuming it's not because she has mentioned it several times (I kept thinking she was saying myomas) but she has not been concerned even when I asked if it can affect implantation.

Neither of us will give up without a fight hun, we got this xx

Moocher90 · 20/08/2021 17:33

@Tillybabs sorry to hear about your diagnosis! I have heard of that before. It’s bitter sweet sometimes when you get official confirmation as there’s no more ignorant bliss :( I had a good cry after being told about my extremely low amh and afc. I am now feeling more positive and won’t go without a fight to have something I really want! I’m glad they have set a plan for you :)

Tillybabs · 20/08/2021 16:53

@Kay00 congrats on your promotion 🎉🎉

@Moocher90 it won't hinder you at all, in fact go for it!

I wasn't given antibiotics either and I bled a fair bit after mine for 2-3 days. It then just stopped.

I try to avoid antibiotics as well as it just gives me awful thrush.

So I had a follow up appointment today with the fertility Dr and I finally know what the masses are now. I've got adenomyosis or so she thinks anyway.

Of course I googled this and then cried because it mentions possible causing issues with getting pregnant and could cause miscarriage.

But the Dr has not mentioned this to me or been overly concerned by it I guess because it's not severe and not affecting me.

So I've been told I will have my egg collection so they can take them and freeze them and then see if I need any treatment after. She wants to do it this way round because of my age.

Moocher90 · 20/08/2021 16:24

So I have had static smiley on my CB today but I’m still getting high on easy@home OPKs because it’s saying today was marginally higher than my reading yesterday. I assume I just have to keep testing until it starts to go down again and just continue to DTD just in case there’s a chance I do ovulate.

The last time I had a few days of positive OPKs I didn’t actually end up ovulating so I really hope this is not like the last time.

Kay00 · 20/08/2021 12:05

@Juno231 Thanks Grin. Its an additional role that I am taking on (I will still be doing my usual job) that comes with a lot of extra work, but no pay ... but it does have status and is a role previously done by senior managers and directors. I felt it was worth me doing to enhance my profile and for the networking opportunities. I imagine I will be able to negotiate a good pay increase in the next salary review Halo

Juno231 · 20/08/2021 09:29

@Kay00 Congrats on the promotion btw!! Well done Grin. Although whyyy did they not increase your salary with it!

Kay00 · 20/08/2021 00:02

@moocher90 I know, odd isn't it? It wasn't even mentioned! I guess the risk must be low.

Moocher90 · 19/08/2021 20:39

@Kay00 congrats on the promotion. So weird how all clinics differ, same procedure but no antibiotics after it for you.

Juno231 · 19/08/2021 13:44

for days*

Juno231 · 19/08/2021 13:44

@Moocher90 yes and yes. Got two lots of strong ones that really messed with my tummy actually. But they were only one big dose each so not something I was taking for dose.

Kay00 · 19/08/2021 13:14

I wasn't given any antibiotics after my hycosy @moocher90 and if I had been offered them I would have refused anyway (due to my delicate gut flora 😇)

My hycosy was on CD5 and I ovulated that month on CD14.

Moocher90 · 19/08/2021 13:08

@Juno231 was you given antibiotics and did you take them?

Juno231 · 19/08/2021 13:01

@Moocher90 it wont hinder anything - my doc specifically said I could go back to TTC straight after the procedure :) Much like you I think I had the hycosy on a Friday and then ovulated early on the Sunday

Moocher90 · 19/08/2021 11:21

So I’m CD 10 today and have got a positive OPK. I’m so confused as I never ovulate this early and I rarely ovulate at all. Because of the hycosy on CD7 we have only just DTD this morning as I was spotting before then. They prescribed me antibiotics which I was told to take for 7 days. Did anyone else who had hycosy take the antibiotics after? Will this hinder anything?
If we continue to DTD today and 2mo are we in with a shot this cycle?

Yesterday I didn’t get a peak reading but was getting stronger. So if I am ovulating it may have started over night.

I’m aware this could be a fluke and my body might try to ovulate again. I did wake up to a temp of 36.24 this morning though and the day before was 36.08.

@Kay00 Thanks, you're right. Congratulations on the promotion.

@MissC07 just the usual really few meals out and stuff like that, we're going to a thing called 'ghetto golf' basically an over 18s crazy golf with alcohol, I've been before it is a good laught to be fair but I'm not really a big birthday person.

I woke up this morning feeling like I've been hit by a bus 😩

WhirlingD · 19/08/2021 00:32

@Moocher90 I'm so sorry to hear your news but sounds like you are being proactive. I have premature menopause and AMH is actually not routinely used to measure ovarian reserve. The test for POI (primary ovarian insufficiency) is having FSH levels of over 40, 6 weeks apart and 4 months without a period. What was your FSH?

Interestingly, I've been advised to keep trying naturally until Christmas, at which point I plan to start donor egg IVF. My AMH is 0.36 so IVF with my own eggs is pointless.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 18/08/2021 22:38

@MissC07 the first one no ovulation detected, the second ovulation detected 10 days before AF

OP posts:
MissC07 · 18/08/2021 21:45

@HeavenlyHoping I think they'll just give me tablets to kick start AF. I'm actually worrying that it's going to ruin my holiday but I'm being overdramatic.

@Juno231 thank you for reminding me. I really need a better memory 🙈

@Moocher90 that's great news! I hope it all goes well for you.

@TheDaydreamBelievers remind me again, with your super long cycles did AF just show up or did you ovulate?

@ChinChilly sorry you're having a down day. Do you have any nice plans for your 30th?

@Kay00 congratulations on the promotion!! That's great news! I'm sure the extra pay will come in time and it's great you'll be getting a lot of exposure!

Kay00 · 18/08/2021 21:27

@chinchilly remember, age is just a number! That's what I tell myself when I realise I'm pushing 40 and don't yet have any kiddos 😘

I got a little promotion in work today 😁 well, actually it's quite a big promotion but it doesn't come with any additional pay 🤔 but it gets me a lot of visibility within the organisation and a good opportunity to network. Its a coverted position so its quite exciting I suppose!

ChinChilly · 18/08/2021 20:16

@Moocher90 it all sounds really positive.

Eurgh I'm having a TTC down day today, not sure why or what's triggered it. Maybe it's because I turn 30 on Monday and I always thought I would of had babies by the time I was 30 😞
