In the shimmering summer heat, we need to head for the water to cool down and relax. Bring your inflatable flamingo, your romcom read and your sunscreen, cause it's time for a pool party!

Welcome to the 12th post pill party thread. We are here for women who have recently come off the pill... and women like me who not-so-recently came off the pill! Share and get support with the highs and lows of TTC.

I can see these people rockin' up with their cossies on:

Not at all @MissM94 - the opposite, it'd be amazing to see when each of you who Ive gotten to know a bit get a BFP! I just feel i also need a club/thread where there are maybe more people who have been trying a while. Sorry, I hope my post didnt seem shady

@TheDaydreamBelievers would you prefer people to not post if they're pregnant? If that would make you feel better I personally wouldn't be offended if you'd rather (when everyone's time comes) they would post on a pregnancy thread rather than this specific one, whatever you're comfortable with ☺️ .. I have no intention of ever posting on here when my BFP time comes because selfishly I don't want to feel like shit posting it, knowing some ladies are struggling because I know it would piss people off and I don't want to feel guilty for not having struggled & I certainly don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.. I can't imagine how you must be feeling, I just know how I would be feeling if I was in your shoes so sending you a big hug ♥️

Juno231 · 23/08/2021 18:56

@TheDaydreamBelievers I'm also on the donkey club (aka not immediately fertile one cycle unicorns) - pretty much everyone there is seeking fertility treatments cause they've been at it for so long.
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4297708-bus-6-of-the-donkey-club-ttc-for-forever-helpful-supportive-ladies-for-endo-ivf-mfi-etc

@Kay00 @Tillybabs and maybe a few more of us are also on the below thread which started off as a fertility appointment help type thread but has developed into more of a support group
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4283803-Fertility-Clinic-Appointments-and-Beyond

Neither is as busy as ttc bus 46 which is the main one I've been on since Feb last year. There's the occasional new person with a functioning body and some grads that have still stuck around but the vast majority joined well over a year ago and are still trundling along. Mixed bag of pcos, IVF post cancer treatments, 43 year olds giving it a last shot etc. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4314582-TTC-Bus-46-where-were-all-off-on-our-holidays-lets-hope-that-means-more-BFPs-rubbish-results-for-July

So my apps think I have ovulated due to three high temps! One says 3dpo and one says 2dpo. Will keep an eye now and ensure it does continue to rise and it’s not a fluke

MissC07 · 23/08/2021 18:08

@Kay00 @Juno231 Thanks ladies - temp is firmly down this morning 😣 Chart below just for ridiculousness

Im wondering @Juno231 @Kay00 can you recommend any other threads on here for long stayers/fertility investigation stage? I love this group of women but its starting to hurt my heart when people come on here after coming off the pill (appropriately - its what the group was set up for) then immediately get pregnant.

@TheDaydreamBelievers I keep hearing most clinics are rubbish at the actual admin stuff and making you feel well taken care of lol. It's probably best to just focus on the results!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/08/2021 10:32

Sorry, realise I wasnt clear. Its GCRM we have contacted as GRI never responded to any requests for info etc which does not give me much hope for them!

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 23/08/2021 10:26

@juno231 to be honest, neither GRCM or GRI have amazing reputations. But GCRM has better success rates.

@TheDaydreamBelievers Good luck today!!

@MissC07 Fingers crossed your temp shoots up x

Juno231 · 23/08/2021 09:20

@MissC07 mine go straight back down the next day so i wouldn't discount it - I reckon your peak was yday!

@TheDaydreamBelievers best of luck today - have you decided on which clinic to go for?

@ShellUK09 welcome! If you have fairly regular cycles already I'd just focus on doing the deed every other day for most of the cycle and that should be you covered.

Had an email from the fertility clinic today - asking OH for a bank statement showing his salary being paid in... We've already sent that before but whatever Grin. Bodes well for their organisational skills!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 22/08/2021 23:50

Just popping in to say hi to all. Calling the private fertility clinic tomorrow to get the ball rolling on assessment.

@Kay00 OPK back to next to nothing today, so must've been a wonky reading yesterday- the wait continues 😫

ShellUK09 · 22/08/2021 16:35

@ChinChilly awww same here, I don’t know anyone directly who has had a MC however there was a girl at work who had one when she was quite far on and she told the manager she didn’t want anyone to ask her anything about it when she returned to work from the sick so no one talked about it. That was her way of coping and I can understand when you are at work you just want work to be a distraction. She did go on to get pregnant again a few months later and that was successful. It is very useful to know what is going on in your body, I think I’ll keep doing the ovulation tests each month to see if a regular pattern emerges. Yes we’ll see, I wish things happened faster but trying to take my mind off it at the moment and have been out and about with the dog all weekend. Good luck to you too.

@Kay00 hello Smile it’s funny I do feel quite old to be starting out with this but I’ve never felt ready to start a family before now. I was on the mini pill as I suffer from migraines so it is the only pill I can take, but I did really enjoy the lack of periods! My cycle returned fairly quickly, it was as if my body had been crying out for me to stop the pill! Wishing you all the best
for this cycle.

Kay00 · 21/08/2021 21:20

@shelluk09 welcome!! Im 36 too, ots good to hear your cycles have settled since you came off the pill 😊 hopefully it won't be too long until you're pregnant.

@missC07 that's a pretty strong OPK, perhaps you are about to ovulate late? Keep dtd and testing just in case 🤞🤞

CD8 for me and not a lot to report. I might start doing OPKs early next week.

ChinChilly · 21/08/2021 20:36

@ShellUK09 it really why shitty timing 🙄 but never mind, I didn't know anyone who had, had a MC until I had one and told people what had happened so I find talking about it helps. I also find tracking works best for me, although i did fall pregnant the month I wasn't tracking. Well fingers crossed AF doesn't turn up on the 31st and you get your BFP

ShellUK09 · 21/08/2021 19:46

@ChinChilly aw so sorry to hear about your MC. I would rather people didn’t know we were trying right now as I know they will then ask us about it all the time. I’m glad you told your family about your MC though as you need their support. That is awful timing for your cousin. I think for me it is useful tracking when I ovulate and inputting the dates into a cycle tracker, more so we don’t have to guess when to DTD and we don’t become worn out from doing it all the time! Just in the waiting period now, according to my app the next period is due 31st August, but as I haven’t had periods for years this could be wrong anyway, so will just see what happens!

ChinChilly · 21/08/2021 18:49

@ShellUK09 I took them up until my MC i think they are pretty good, I've just been using up the tub of folic acid I've got hanging around. I only told one of my friends we were ttc as I just felt less pressure to get pregnant. Since the MC i think my whole family now know, I had to explain why I was so irrationally upset when my cousin announced thier pregnancy 3 days after I'd had surgical management for the MC.
I'd say just do what feels right for you, the whole "just relax' thing works for some and for some tracking everything works.

ShellUK09 · 21/08/2021 18:25

Thank you @Tillybabs, @MissC07, @ChinChilly Smile

Yes TTC does take over everything in your life, it’s all I can think about. We are in the process of trying to move house as well so it’s been a stressful time. Trying my best to keep a level head!

I have been taking the seven seas vitamins for the past 3 months, mainly due to the rave reviews on Amazon. The vitamins get five star on Amazon but I agree the process of TTC is a one star, it’s such a rollercoaster of emotions. We haven’t mentioned we are trying to anyone so any tips or advice is much appreciated x

ChinChilly · 21/08/2021 16:15

@ShellUK09 welcome 👋

@MissC07 hopefully this ovulation for you and this loooooong cycle can begin winding down for you.

I had a pretty dark OPK today, not positive though, I'm only CD10 but I've stopped taking the seven seas tablets and gone back to just folic acid so I'm wondering if the seven seas ones were making my cycles abit longer.

My emotions are really up and down at the minute, i go from being okay with not being pregnant and focusing on myself to desperately wanting to be pregnant again. eurgh I rate TTC one star - would not recommend 🤣

MissC07 · 21/08/2021 14:26

@Tillybabs thank you! I usually get a bit of a dodgy tum (tmi) around ovulation and had one this morning so did a random OPK and it's come up with the attached. Could just be nothing though, my body is often playing tricks on me!! I fly to Portugal next weekend (if I pass all my covid tests) so AF will probably arrive then 😫 I hope your period improves, hopefully just your body fighting off covid!

@ShellUK09 Welcome! 👋

@ShellUK09 welcome!

@MissC07 @HeavenlyHoping oh ladies I do hope AF arrives soon for you both.

My period is definitely different and heavier. Just not sure if it's vaccine or Covid related as I had the vaccine not realising I also have Covid!

ShellUK09 · 21/08/2021 12:51

Hello,

Can I join in the discussion? I’m new here and still getting used to the abbreviations! I’m 36, was on the mini pill Cerazette and then Cervelle for 15 years, so not expecting things to happen quickly for me.

Came off the pill in March and cycles seem more normal now. Currently in the second month of trying to conceive and have tracked my ovulation day with the boots ovulation kit, that was yesterday, but have DTD all this week! Just waiting now to see what happens.

My first period after the Pfizer jab was very heavy and had terrible back cramps, but that could just be normal for me as I the pill I was on stopped periods so maybe I’m just in shock about getting periods again! Anyway looking forward to hearing how you all get on Smile x

HeavenlyHoping · 21/08/2021 12:30

@MissC07 CD104 for me :(

MissC07 · 21/08/2021 11:56

@Tillybabs I'm on CD110 with no AF! Don't know if I can blame the vaccine though, it's just frustrating. Am dreading it when it finally does turn up though. I've been having stomach cramps for the past 3 days but nothing yet... 😣
