Hi ladies, how are you all? I had my scan today on CD14 and they found the following:

Left ovary: nothing
Right ovary: 1 x 27mm follicle

Obviously I'll be very happy if I ovulate from 1 x follicle, but the nurse said it was so big that it was either about to release an egg or it might be a cyst. I will find out when I get my progesterone tested next Monday if I ovulated on not 🤞

We DTD on Saturday evening, then again this afternoon (as soon as I got home from my appointment 😆) and will try again tonight or tomorrow morning.

Last month I was super excited and did everything to boost my chances: lube, pomegranate juice,pinapple core etc etc... but I think I'm going to be more relaxed this time.

@Kay00 that's great! And I'm assuming you can start taking it straight away, you don't have to wait for a new cycle to start? I'm on CD14 now, I haven't been tracking anything temp or OPK wise as I gave up after my last mammoth cycle. But might start temping again just out of interest more than anything!

@missC07 yes, since the Metformin I have had regular 30 day cycles with ovulation around CD16. I also taking conceive plus ovulation support (4 tablets a day) which I think is helping too.

@Kay00 it's nice to have a results twin 😂 Thank you for putting my mind at ease. The consultant prescribed me with one tablet a day for the first two months then will increase it. She asked if I wanted clomid too but I said no for the moment as with starting a new job I said I'm happy to wait until early next year. Have you found the metformin is regulating your AF?

@moocher90 that's pretty annoying that you have to re-do your tests 🙄

@missC07 haha, we have remarkably similar results! My AMH levels are the same as your too 😆 I'm have been on Metformin now for a few months and it has been fine. Start on a low dose (500mg or 1 x tablet) and slowly work your way up. I'm about to go up to 2000mg this weekend. My advice is to eat it with food or as soon after as you can as that seems to stop me feeling sick. The only side effects I have had is nausea, usually if I forgot to take them with food or if I eat lots of carbs/sugar. The symptoms have been pretty mild though... nothing like the horror stories I read on line! Did your doctor mention Clomid to you, or is it just Metformin for now?

So I spoke to the nhs gynaecologist today and they want me to do day 2 bloods day 21 bloods and I have to go for another hycosy because my private one is not on my nhs notes. I have sent my private hycosy to my GP though. They also didn’t have the results of DH’s SA but he has had on with the nhs. Once I have these all done they will sort out a plan of action. I just feel like I am constantly jumping through hoops and not getting anywhere :/.

AF arrived whilst on holiday and this is the 3rd cycle where I have had 22 day cycles and I appear to be ovulating around CD11. Currently CD7 and am back from holiday now. Roll on another month of TTC

@Juno231 thank you! Luckily she said she's given me the slow release ones and a smaller dose so we'll see. She was also going to give me clomid but I said we aren't actively trying until early next year. I hope everything is going well in your new job!

@MissC07 ah you can start off with a smaller dose and increase it as and when you get used to it. There's also a type of Metformin med that is kinder on the gut. For what it's worth I know a few people with no problems at all on it so definitely worth a shot!

@TheDaydreamBelievers aah yes. Is the feedback any time soon or is there a big gap now? From memory the gynae appt is fairly soon?

@Juno231 thank you! Just the sickness and upset stomach the doctor said would likely come with it. Obviously I fell into a MM blackhole last night and was reading horror stories too 🙈

@MissC07 your results are fine except for amh which is super high and therefore indicative of pcos. What about Metformin worries you? @Kay00 is on it so might be able to allay your fears

Hope everyone is doing ok.

My consultant confirmed PCOS yesterday and has prescribed me with Metformin, but I'm really worried about the side effects so haven't picked it up from the pharmacy yet 😔 She also gave me my blood results, which mean nothing to me but she said were ok 🤷‍♀️ hopefully someone can translate them...
AMH pmol - 68.6
LH - 6.4
FSH - 5.3
TSH - 1.89

I've got my follow up with the gynae consultant tomorrow after my scan and blood test last week. The lady that did my scan last week was really lovely and was explaining and showing everything to me. Also found out I have a retroverted uterus too, of course nothing is straight forward for me 🤣

I'm on CD7 and have finished my 2nd course of Clomid (CD's 2-6) but at 25mg this time. I had headaches whilst taking them, but they weren't too bad. My scan is a week today.

@TheDaydreamBelievers glad everything was ok for DH! Have they said what the next steps for you will be? Is your private appointment this week?

@Kay00 I could do with the break right now! It’s come at the right time. Whilst there we are attending a wedding too so it’s going to be a lovely time away for a week :) and a darn sight warmer then here at the mo!

@Juno231 were not too bad thanks. I did find it all very stressful, and of course haven’t really had time to recover from it all mentally, but I’m sure there will be time for that in the future. Very happy in the new house. We have a lot more space here, and it’s a godsend to be near family. How’s the renovation going?

Congratulations on the new job! How are you finding it? Well it’s not like you planned for it to be that way, so i would just put that to the back of your mind completely! Great that you have your first appointment coming up. Will keep checking back for updates xx
