Hi there,

Ok I'm ready to try for number 2 and feeling a bit nervous and in need of company ! anyone out there in the same boat, how about the mutual support group starts here.

my son is nearly 21 months. i conceived really easily last time but had 2 consecutive m/c before he came along so spent about a year and a half pregnant ! i'm scared 2nd time round won't be so easy and m/cs might come back but also sooooo excited. also i'm 36 and keep feeling really old and like i have to get it sorted soon ............

aaah, little one is dancing round the sofa to annie on the telly, need to go and join him. would really like to hear from anyone in the same boat,

can't bore my childless friends with all the boring details constantly,

cheers

I know what you mean usuallytooshy, DH is mega tired at the mo too and I do feel bad, but when I grin sheepishly at him he normally relents He is just as keen for #2 as I am, so it may be tired BDing but, so far, it is still getting the deed done

fruitloop79 · 06/12/2007 13:42

not with GP systems down, AWOL AFs

fruitloop79 · 06/12/2007 13:41

ok, right CD71 now. I know I get long cycles but this is ridiculous. I cant remember how long they used to be cos I only came off pill beginning Aug and was PG with DS before that. My last cycle was "only" 54 days.
How the hell am I supposed to time BDing correctly!!! Bloody AF! ('scuse the pun). Deffo not PG cos I've done about 4 tests over the past week - it's driving me nuts.
Tried to book GP appointment this morning but systems down grrrr!
Anyone else have this problem?

I think that chemical pregnancy is where the egg has been fertilized and therefore hormones are released which would show up on a pregnancy test. However the embryo then fails to implant and you go on to have AF (miscarriage) Apparently many people who have chemical pregnancies never know they are pregnant and just think it is AF. I am sure someone more knowlegable will make it clearer.

loopybear · 04/12/2007 20:51

Lucile big hug xxx

Fairy we weren't trying for DD have PCOS was haphazard taking the minipill which I was taking to help with taking pain control medicine and well I forgot to take it while we were going through OFSTED and well my miricle baby was concieved. Gynacologist had told me 6 months b4 that would need IVF in next 18 months cos I was getting old at 28!!!

Fruitloop accupuncture is £35 a time and a weeks medicine costs me £35. I paid for 4 sessions in one go and got 2 free. I pay for medicine's weekly as it's so awful I have to talk myself into it. (It looks like some-ones just sweepy up in the woods and put it in a paper bag) A friend of mine got pills which cost her £15 per week. I think it depends what you get given. My Chineese Dr said the accupuncture on its own would help but combined with herbal "tea" would be more effective. I have no idea if it works but I feel relaxed after seeing her. She's lovely and gently and very positive. It doesn't hurt either.

Can someone explain what a chemical pregnancy is please sorry for being dense!

simmo14 · 04/12/2007 12:17

Hi. Can i join in?
Seems like I have been trying for ages now- I am so impatient!First one was very much a suprise. DP calls it our miracle baby as I was on the pill (not very reliable at taking it) and shortly into my pregnancy he got diagnosed with testicular cancer (all sorted now- Thankfully)
I have tried temping and peeing on OV sticks. Going to try evening primrose oil and B6 to lengthen LP this month. I have added my details hope this is ok?!

Oops, sorry missed that bit out lucicle.
I only stopped BF DD a month ago, 13months. She decided she was not interested anymore and that was that But I figured maybe it would help our chances too. I guess it did, a bit I got a chemical pregnancy instead.
Hoping we will manage again this month but that it will stick. fingers crossed

Wow, I missed loads going away for the weekend. Hello everyone, lovely to hear about all the supportive DHs wanting #2 as well - lots of fighting for the bathroom going on! (sorry!)
Am trying to resist ordering thermometer and peeing sticks on ebay as I know I will turn into a charting obsessive and with DH away for a fortnight I have nothing to do but wonder what he did before he went! At least if AF arrives when she would have done on my prebaby timings I can go manic about moving to not be too fed up!

dancerandprancer · 03/12/2007 20:18

Thanks for that twinklingfairy (like the name). Thinking about it again, it may have been ovulation pain which may just be on the late side this month. (wishful thinking on the old implantation idea)

halogen · 03/12/2007 19:38

Cycle 6 for me, twinklingfairy, if that is how long we've been trying?

Thanks for adding me to the list. Nice to think of everyone else out there peeing on sticks!

Hi, I'm TTC Number 2 as well. I'm 39 so really need to crack on with this and my daughter is nearly 15 months old. Recently stopped breastfeeding (at last! only a couple of weeks ago) which I hope will help. We've been trying for about six months as it took us nearly two years the last time and I'm clearly a bit elderly now! Sending lots of good luck vibes to all of you.

I got some v cheap pee sticks for ovulation testing from here: www.babyornot.co.uk/ and, erm, they seem to be working so far! My period's due today so fingers crossed as no sign of it yet. Obviously typing that will jinx everything and it will immediately arrive. But I'm crossing my fingers anyway!

twinklingfairy · 03/12/2007 19:14

oops, sorry.
Have followed your lead dancerandprancer , fairysnuff here with my new christmas name

twinklingfairy · 03/12/2007 19:13

How far past you ovulation date are you?
I was told today that implantation is about 7-10 days past ovulation (DPO)
I didn't get any pains with implantation, but that doesn't mean anything
I did get pains for ovulation though, just on one side. ouch. Was about day 20 of my cycle.
