so I'm a little confused and wondered if someone could shed some light Hmm

My miscarriage started with spotting on Weds 16th June.
Medium flow started Sat 19th.
I had continuous medium/heavy flow up until Weds 30th June.
then brown spotting thurs and Friday 2nd.

I've had no bleeding since and a negative test (taken on sat 3rd)

I have no woken up to more bleeding this morning. Is this my period?!

@Miscarriage39

The womb should return to normal after a little while lovelylittlesunflower. I’m the same age as you and had to have a D&C in March following heavy bleeding and an incomplete medical management. The whole team were really positive that there shouldn’t be any lasting effects on fertility and the surgeon said it was safe to start TTC after my first period. I know it’s terrifying, though. If it helps, I had a really straightforward procedure after a really horrible medical management, and felt physical well quite quickly afterwards. I was also home 4 hours after leaving the ward for theatre. Do you know when your scan will be?

So, just because I love over-sharing on here, if it was my period earlier, it seems to have stopped again. There was quite a bit of bright red blood at 9/10 am, then nothing since. Trying not to even contemplate that this could be a positive sign, but getting really fed up of my body being all over the place. Mind you, I actually did something surprising normal to distract myself today and went paddle boarding. It was actually really relaxing and I came back feeling a bit more like my old self.

Thank you so much for your reassuring post. That really helps me X

@Miscarriage39 Yes, I got a call back from a GP this morning. She said that they can offer what they call a 21 day test, 21 days into my cycle. She said that it will show if zi ovulate or not and insisted that it doesn't measure progesterone so I was a bit confused. She said that she was posting a form for me to fill out. She also said that I can call the moment that I get a positive pregnancy test to try to get an emergency appointment/prescription for progesterone. I guess I'll just focus on filling in the form to get the 21 day test for now. X

@Miscarriage39 I never do normally she doesn't even have an iPad or anything but I think I will just this once to stop her from crying. She had a blood test last week and was terrified so it just brings back those memories for her (She has them regularly as she has hypothyroidism and her veins are so tiny to get a needle in) aww I'm finishing a chicken I started in April! Not very good at knitting though 😂

Miscarriage39 · 07/07/2021 22:27

Can you give her your phone kiwi17? I know it’s not the pinnacle of perfect parenting, but mine have always regarded it as a huge treat when out and about, so it’s been very effective at appointments like that.
I totally get your anxiety, but hopefully these tests will give you the answers and be a step towards having that baby in your arms.
What are you crocheting? I’m terrible at crochet and knitting (much to my mum’s horror 😆).

kiwi17 · 07/07/2021 22:23

Ooh that sounds positive @Miscarriage39 🤞🤞 for you. Paddle boarding also sounds lovely even though I'm terrible at it and end up more in the water than out 😂 I know what you mean about wanting to feel more normal. I picked up a crochet hook tonight for the first time in ages and watched some modern family and doing that instead of mindlessly googling and scrolling made me feel much better! Trying to not think about my blood test tomorrow which I obviously want them to do but not sure how it's going to work with my 3 yr old in the room with me 😟
@lovelylittlesunflower I had to have one because I had an infection and losing too much blood - it thins your womb for the first few months but after that no issues.

If it had to be done to prevent further damage/ infection then it's a positive thing although I remember crying before mine because I didnt want it!
Thank you that's reassuring. I'm nearly 40 so worried about fertility etc.

KJW00 · 07/07/2021 16:44

@PeanuttyButter yep me too! My thoughts are consumed with TTC all the time and what I can do to help improve it ect and Googling things that just do not help 🤷🏼‍♀️

When I went for my scan to confirm miscarriage the sonographer advised I give my self a break from trying and wait till the end of the year to TTC again as I'm still 'young'. I don't think people understand how hard it is to take a step back from something you really want and had but lost Angry

My doc has referred me for an urgent scan, really don't want to have a D&C as heard it can thin the womb too much. Is this true?

Miscarriage39 · 07/07/2021 15:04

Glad they are finally checking things out for kiwi17. Fingers crossed that they can give you some answers and hopefully resolve any issues.

Babyghirl · 07/07/2021 15:02

@kiwi17
So glad the doctors now seem to be playing ball with u and checking u over, hopefully you get some answers and if anything is wrong can get it sorted 💚

kiwi17 · 07/07/2021 14:12

Sorry to hear that @Miscarriage39 😟 sorry I've been a bit AWOL - welcome to the newbies and good luck with everything! So I thought af had started last week but no I had 5 days of spotting again and started at properly yesterday so on cd2 for me today. Fed up with it so finally called the doctors and did an online consult thing. They've booked me for 3 and 21 day bloods- got the first ones tomorrow and they're going to check for everything including progesterone and thyroid levels as I was concerned I might have an underactive thyroid (DD was born with it) so fingers crossed I get some answers soon! I also had an appointment today with the gp but seems she thought it was an internal exam to do swabs as when I turned up she said I couldn't do it on my period 🤦‍♀️ haha so going back for that next week. Even though I'm terrified they'll find something is wrong I'm so relieved they're going to check it all out for me and were really helpful. It just feels like I might finally get some answers 🤞🤞 hope everyone else is doing ok today!

PeanuttyButter · 07/07/2021 13:51

I know what you mean @KJW00 I feel like that's all I have to talk about but it's because that's what's constantly buzzing around my head when I'm not at work

KJW00 · 07/07/2021 13:25

@Babyghirl I'm sorry for you losses. But yes we will get there just got to get over some hurdles beforehand!!

@Miscarriage39 I'm sure it will! Forums, support and talking does me a world of good and tbh I think my OH has had enough of hearing it Halo Its all I seem to talk about atm haha!

KJW00 · 07/07/2021 13:22

Babyghirl · 07/07/2021 13:14

@miscarriage39
Get doc to run a few blood test to check on things, but hang on in there girl I knw someone whe was 47 thought she was going through the menapose and she was pregnant so still time for us yet 💚

Miscarriage39 · 07/07/2021 10:01

H0peing I hope you managed to get a GP callback sorted for today, and that they agree to the test.

Welcome Anxiousnewbie & KJW00. Sorry you find yourself here, but I hope you’ll find the group helps.

Seems like my optimism was misplaced, and I think my period is making an entrance, 7 days early. I guess this makes up for it being two weeks late last cycle. Really am now panicking that I’m totally peri-menopausal and that’s it for us!

Babyghirl · 07/07/2021 08:40

@Herewegoagain2021
My doc would not give me in on my last pregnancy 4th one she said it had to be giving by a consultant it ended in miscarriage anyway, but now in the hands of the rmc and they said I will get it from my nxt bfp keep pushing but to my knowledge they only hand it out after someone has had 3 miscarriages 💚
@KJW00 @Anxiousnewbie
Sorry you find urself here but glad u found us for support so sorry for what yous have been through it's an awful journey to be on, I have had 4 miscarriages and 1 cp ttc num 1 but we will all get there just taking a wee bit longer 💚

@Anxiousnewbie welcome! Have you had any advice from your GP / anyone about anything that will help? Xx

H0peing · 06/07/2021 22:40
