Fertility Clinic Appointments and Beyond..

New thread for us to continue our fertility clinic appointment progress...

Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

Hi ladies, I officially have an embryo on board!! Clinic called this morning to say our first embryo thawed (which I've been so nervous about) and to go in for transfer. Partner was allowed in and before they transferred, they put a pic of our embryo on the screen for him to take a picture on his phone, which I am obviously obsessing over now ha.
Transfer itself was fine, more uncomfortable than a scan but less than egg collection. Quite intense as 4 staff were in the room and could tell the concentration levels were super high. Felt quite emotional throughout although we were in and out in 20 mins. So now it's just a waiting game until next Friday.

Hope everyone is ok, I need to have read through to catch up.

Lol @Juno231 it is indeed they do the scan then you go back to your local gp and midwife. This still all seems a bit crazy. Lol

Woop, I've heard from the clinic!
I've got my scan and a SA for DH booked in with the clinic in 2 weeks time (they could have done next week, but I couldn't do the time they had). Then the following morning we have a phone appointment with the dr. I guess then they'll decide what they are doing?

@Juno231 you should hear any day now. Sag should be due in around 9 days. I will start the Gonal F on CD2

@Tillybabs They've had it since 10th of Aug so not that long I guess! Feels like ages ago now though, time has felt a bit strange this summer. When is your AF due? Ie are you starting on the gonal f soon?

No updates from me - still waiting to hear back about my IVF funding. Starting my new job in 4 weeks so I don't mind them being slow with the application at least!

@tillybabs tell me about it 🤣 before this I'd had a grand total of one blood test, I'm now well acquainted with the nurses frown and disbelief after digging around for 5 mins (after previously tourniqueting me and going 'we'll have no issue today, theres a juicy one here') its always nice having a new bruise to explain away 🙄😂

@beckyCarlos I've had so many blood tests I honestly don't know what most of them were for. I'm sure it would have been mentioned if it was an issue.

Has anyone else taken Gonal F?

@Tillybabs It's used for ovulation induction, like clomid is. A different drug that aims to do the same thing. I'm also being given a trigger shot with this course of Letrozole, sometime next week probably.

@tillybabs if you had your original bloods done through your GP you should be able to see the results on the NHS app 😊 x

@Tillybabs when first start seeing the fertility clinic they test for rubella immunity. If the nurse hasn't mention that you are low you are probably ok.

I've just had a read through messages and seen people mention Letrozole. What is that?

I had my teach today and I will be starting on Gonal F on CD2. I've then got to call them and be booked in for scans. She said she didn't want to go into the other medication yet so as not to confuse me but that I would get it all delivered in just over a weeks time.

@Tillybabs yeah, it’s the rubella they’re looking for because it’s dangerous for unborn babies. I had no antibodies so had to have two vaccines which took three months. I may still have no antibodies but I don’t plan on having it again if two doses didn’t work.

Well, safe to say the Letrozole is giving me headaches and a touch of nausea. That’s after one tablet, let’s see what each day brings 🥴
