New thread for us to continue our fertility clinic appointment progress...

Some of us are waiting for initial appointments, some are having tests and some are starting treatment!

Haha, it's certainly Monday... nearly Tuesday.

Scan is CD14 to see if my ovaries have responded to the Clomid and about to pop out an eggy 😁

thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 22:41

It’s not been 40 hours, more like over 60 hours. I’m thinking it’s Sunday 🙃

thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 22:28

Some sources are even saying 36-72 hours after. Weird. Did not know it could take so long, glad that explains why I didn’t have any positives prior to today.

thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 22:24

Oh weird, just read you should ovulate about 38-40 hours after taking the trigger. Fingers crossed that’s worked for me then 🤨

@Kay00 oh that’s good, it came round fast. Fingers crossed the clomid goes easy on you. Is there a reason the scan is two weeks away?

thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 22:12

Ah if it’s a delay then that makes more sense. I was going to say it definitely didn’t work straight away, it’s been about 40 hours. Either way, I’m happy to see a positive. I don’t get to see them ever.

paintfairy · 13/09/2021 22:10

@thislittlebird no, its the trigger. They tell you not to use opks when on drugs as its meaningless. As @Juno231 says, its pregnancy hormone in the trigger which causes the opks to read positive regardless. 36 hours they say for the trigger to work, but really it can be 24-36. Depends how fast you react.

Kay00 · 13/09/2021 21:56

@thislittlebird might be a good question for the consultant perhaps? Hopefully you're ovulating very shortly 😊

I'm on CD1 so will be starting Clomid tomorrow 😁🤪 I'm excited but worried about the side effects whilst having my sis in law living with me. My floof scan is booked for 27th Sept. Feels so good to be making progress 😌

I'll be thinking of you all week @dogmam 🤞🤞🤞

Yesterday’s one for comparison.

Fertility Clinic Appointments and Beyond..
thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 15:47

@Juno231 trigger was Friday night. The last two days I didn’t have OPKs like that, they were lighter. So I don’t get it, since they’re stronger today.

Juno231 · 13/09/2021 15:39

@thislittlebird it's the trigger. Did you use ovitrelle? That's basically a copy of HCG and will cause positive opks for a long time so no point testing - it's the same as for IVF I think where you can test out the trigger etc.

Besides wasn't your trigger before the weekend? It works pretty instantly I thought.

thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 15:01

What I don’t know is if the OPK result is false as such, because of the meds? Or if I am actually, truly ovulating?

thislittlebird · 13/09/2021 14:58

@paintfairy yeah I didn’t expect to get OHSS, just knew HCG makes the follicles mature and thought I would feel some of my usual pains or a bit more. I only had one big follicle but did feel some twinges a couple of days ago and got a fairly decent OPK result today, which I hope is a good sign 🤨. I never get positive OPKs, only ever get clear blue positives but I can’t use those this month because I forgot to log my period and the machine is dumb.

I had no symptoms from the Letrozole or the trigger, so that’s good.

@PurpleUnicorn01 I really was expecting ~something~ because I’m pretty sure I don’t even ovulate most months and still get some pains.

@beckyCarlos good luck for Friday!

@dogmam work being busy is a good thing, keep distracted!

PurpleUnicorn01 · 13/09/2021 14:54

@dogmam i got the first response early response. I heard as its pink dye rather than blue its better. I have no idea why lol.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 13/09/2021 14:53

@beckyCarlos best of luck hun x

PurpleUnicorn01 · 13/09/2021 14:52

@dogmam don't worry im just over 7 weeks and i have hardly any symptoms. No sore boobs or anything still. I did get mild cramps after transfer and a sore lower back. I wouldn't worry if you don't get many symptoms. We are all different. Stay hydrated. Sports lucozade is great.

beckyCarlos · 13/09/2021 14:50

Glad you're ok so far @dogmam!

We have our follow up appointment on Friday (another cheeky cancellation slot confirmed by phone today). Nervous is an understatement, but at least we'll have a path forward then whatever form that might take!x

dogmam · 13/09/2021 14:16

Other than being absolutely ill with nerves and anxiety, I'm ok haha. I'm back at work today and it's so busy which is good. No sore boobs, no feeling sick etc tiny bit crampy now and then but maybe only because I'm being extra aware. Test day Friday! Need to go and buy a test actually.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 13/09/2021 14:07

@thislittlebird yes I didn't really feel much I was a bit sore on one side but that's about it. I was expecting something far worse. I think i had like 15 or something.

paintfairy · 13/09/2021 13:44

@thislittlebird you don't feel anything from the trigger. Must people don't feel ovulation. My digestive system hates the trigger mind. But neither would you get OHSS. That's only when doing IVF where there's like 20 plus follicles. Your body is designed to deal with 1 (or even a couple). My first iui i had 3. Still felt nothing. No different to when I had 2 and then 1.

PurpleUnicorn01 · 12/09/2021 23:14

@thislittlebird i can understand how you feel. I was so shocked when the treatment actually worked. Fingers crossed for you.

@dogmam any updates?

thislittlebird · 12/09/2021 23:12

@dogmam I did get some twinges today! On the left and right, but kind of glad so I can hope I will ovulate.

Cyclogest number one is done. Will be convinced I’m pregnant in a matter of days, my body isn’t familiar with progesterone 😔

thislittlebird · 12/09/2021 22:48

@PurpleUnicorn01 I’m glad you’ve confirmed my fears! I will definitely be going the suppository route. I used one recently for the first time but for my hycosy (it was an antibiotic) and it was fine, easier than I expected, so I’m happy to use them to avoid thrush. I’m going to be doing them at night so I sleep through with it!

I cant imagine it’ll ever work at this stage. I started having this horrible self reflection this week. My optimism level is pretty low Confused

PurpleUnicorn01 · 12/09/2021 12:14

@thislittlebird ive never had thrush until having the pessaries vaginal. I had horrid irritation and gunk from them. Now i take them rectally and have zero issues. Just buy some latex gloves and you will be fine you dont even need to push them in too far literally an inch or whatever is comfortable. Your body naturally holds on to it. Just make sure you have done your morning ahem poops before.

Also at week 7 of your pregnancy fingers crossed for you your body starts making progesterone too so you may get extra nausea at that point, as I did but Id say have a good breakfast before u have it and the night one have at bedtime.

Hope that helps x

dogmam · 12/09/2021 10:20

@thislittlebird how exciting that you triggered. Don't worry about not having a sudden sensation after it, I know its different circumstances but even with all the follicles I had i didn't feel anything new when I triggered other than extreme bloating but started from the all stims. Also, cyclogest is the same pessaries I'm using, other than being a bit messy I've found them absolutely fine.

@Zibidee huge congrats!! Hopfully you can start to get excited soon. Have you told anyone yet?

I'm 4dpt today, a little crampy but nothing much else going on. Trying to remain calm!

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 12/09/2021 09:11

@Zibidee yeah I asked the nurse straight away lol. Wasn’t getting caught out and being stuck with thrush for ages Confused

@PurpleUnicorn01 did you get thrush doing them vaginally or just skipped that way? I’d seen so many stories on here of the mess they make and I just know it’ll set off all sorts of irritation issues.
