How long did it take you conceive baby no.1 ttc ? advice needed

Hello Everyone,

I just wondered how long it took you to conceive you're first baby? I am 22 and my partner is 24 we have been trying since December 2020 so I know its not long in the TTC world however each month is becoming harder and harder to come to terms with,
Full breakdown today when AF came, as I thought this was my month. We are both are eating fertility friendly foods, moderate exercise, drinking lots of water. I am taking folic acid and my partner is on wellman conception tablets.

I used to track with OPKS but I found it too stressful now we just have regular sex every other day during most of the month tbh. I never had EWCM but I do notice when I am ovulating compared to other times of the month.

i am just at loss and I don't know if its normal to still be ttc this long in?
note- I haven't been on any contraception pill/implant since 2017.

My worst enemy is DR GOOGLE! i cant help but google everything. i am trying to lose a bit of weight because i know it helps to get into a better BMI bracket. but my issue is CM at the minute... never had EWCM at all? Blush Wink

Took us 6 weeks for dc1, 1 year for dc2 (miscarried), 3 months for dc3(miscarried), 3 months for dc4 (miscarried) and 2 months for dc5. This all happened before I was 26 and my oldest was born when I was 22
I have pcos but while I can fall pregnant I struggle to keep them and my pregnancies are very high risk.
I know its hard, especially when nothing seems to be happening but like pps said, you are young and it takes a normal healthy couple a year to fall pregnant on average.

It is frustrating isn't it. It took us 7 months so hopefully your bfp is just round the corner! DTD across the cycle like you are doing is the best way so hopefully won't be too much longer

Almost 5 years after eventually having ivf. Then another 4 years after more ivf. Unfortunately the process isn’t always text book for everyone. In our case it was due to low sperm count.

19 cycles and counting.

It's something like 86% of couples conceive within the first year so you still have time to be part of that statistic. Definitely get the ball rolling on tests as soon as you hit the 12 month mark though as the NHS takes ages to get things sorted if you do end up having problems

It took us 11 months in my late 20s. Try not to worry, it sounds like you're doing everything right. Sometimes it takes a while. I conceived my 2nd and 3rd babies much more quickly after taking so long to get pregnant the first time.

14 months and counting. 8 bfps but no baby. It’s a slog but you are young and have loads of time. When you get to that stage, push for full testing (including immune system and thyroid issues)!

Oh hang on, I'd miscounted. You've been trying 6 months not 18. AV time is 12 months so just relax and enjoy the sex for now. Keep doing what you're doing and see where you are early next year.

yes my OPK used to give me blazing peak about cd18 and my cycles are 31-34 days long and I haven't missed a period ever.

maybe im just being impatient :(

I suspect go will want you trying for two years before helping but what I'd suggest is to make an appt with them, both go, to discuss.

You'll need a referral to hospital to check everything, starting with a sperm count for DP (he just have to wank into a cup at home) but may also include scans and bloods for you

Are you periods regular? Do you get positives on the ovulation sticks when you've done them?
