@HRP1990 that’s actually so reassuring, I’ve already got so much from this thread and thank you so much @Peachycream for making it! Yes I do temp, gives me something else to do 😂😂 so I’ll keep an eye on that and see this cycle as a chance to get to know my cycle.

Welcome @Kaz1987, sounds like you’ve definitely covered it! I’m not sure how the clear blue smiley ones work but I think the peak on the cheapy ones normally means you’ll ovulate in the next 24/48 hours, is that the same with the clear blue ones? Either way it seems like you’re covered so fingers crossed!!

Peachycream · 17/06/2021 13:46

Welcome @Kaz1987!

You’ve got as good a chance as the rest of us my love 😊.

As for the DPO, I would say so but you could still ovulate today as well…….as far as I understand it xx

@SkeletonSkins I get it! I’m on my second cycle now, only CD3 so a while until I ovulate again. I found myself abit lost last month too, Googling everything and researching every symptom/question I had. This forum and these ladies helped a lot! Especially to know we’re not alone and that there’s someone else going through the exact same thing.

Now I’ve got a cycle under my belt I feel better prepared for this month and what’s in store 🤞

Stick with your OPK’s and maybe a thermometer for your temperature if you’re not already doing so? X

Peachycream · 17/06/2021 13:43

@SareBear87 that really is amazing 😂, I’m so glad you’re loving life now.
Ah screw him! He’s the one that missed out and if you let his comments eat you up inside he’s the one winning your separation, and although I don’t know you, I get the feeling that you’d hate the idea of that, so go out and live your best life and rub it in his face. Up close or at a distance, whichever makes you feel better 😂

Yeah OPKs are useful for that, it takes the surprise element away to a certain extent, at least you know roughly when it’s going to turn up and that always helpful to know in advance so you know when not to wear white 😂

Hi,

Hope I can join 34 ttc #1, cycle 7 but 1st month using clear blue opks. Dtd regularly but knowing my luck on the wrong days for the past 6 months. Had flashing on Sun and Mon but didn’t dtd on them days Sad. Got peak on tues so dtd tues night and last night.

Does anybody know if I am still in with a chance? Also would I be classed as 1dpo today?

Baby dust to you all Flowers

SareBear87 · 17/06/2021 13:35

Oh @Peachycream I totally agree with you. Being brutally honest life is better now than it ever has been (which is amazing given the pandemic 😂). Those feeling tend to creep up on me right before 🧙‍♀️ appears! It also doesn't help that evil ex-H threw a lot of hurtful comments at me after we separated.

I've found OPKs help a lot. Knowing the O day and that I've got 14 days before 🧙‍♀️ is pretty reassuring. I said to DP that I will probably use them indefinitely (unless back on the pill). Before using them there was a 4-5 day window when I was constantly peering into my pants and worrying I was going to be caught out!

SkeletonSkins · 17/06/2021 13:26

@HRP1990 I loved it too although never had a go of the new one, maybe I’ll download it to take my mind of OPKs and bbts 😂😂

I’m in cycle one and I think I’m quite anxious, partly because I don’t really know what I’m doing and partly because I don’t really know what my cycle is doing. I think I’d feel better if a knew when I was going to ovulate but hey ho.

Peachycream · 17/06/2021 13:22

I think that puts so much pressure on it and at times I feel like the whole “if it hasn’t happened in a year go to the GP” does more harm than good on occasion.

Totally not taking away from people who have fertility issues, they deserve treatment, but the deserve the treatment when they feel they need it. Whether that’s 5 months in, or 7 years in. If you’re putting that pressure on yourself that surely can’t be good for fertility. I mean I know I’ve missed periods before because of stress. I can’t imagine what the stress of worrying about your fertility does to you.

People deserve to have the tests (at least) when they feel the time is right for them. You shouldn’t have to be told “no sorry keep mentally ruining yourself until it’s been a year, then we will talk about it”

There seems to be a whole suck it and see approach towards it.

All of that being said @SareBear87 I’m sorry you feel that way about being “past best” I 100% get that feeling and it is awful, especially when you feel like someone has taken the “good years” away from you, but that’s not true and now you’ve found someone you love and who loves you and you’re trying for your baby, the good years are all ahead of you. I’m sure of it 😊

SareBear87 · 17/06/2021 13:10

I've found it comes in peaks and troughs. Some months I am totally chilled and what will be, will be. Other months I'm totally worried it will never happen and I lost my "best years" to a ex-H who didn't care!

I had a little freak out on C6, just because my brain was like "we'll we are half way to infertility treatment". This month (C7) I'm way more laid back, to the point of being horizontal! I think the warm weather and being able to go out helps!

Peachycream · 17/06/2021 12:46

@Dannii892 yeah, I mean as much as I’d like to, we can’t give up on our regularly scheduled lives just to TTC. I’m fully expecting it to take a while for us, but I’ve made my peace with that and the longer it takes the more time we have to save more and money in the bank is never a bad thing 😂

Aries491 · 17/06/2021 12:44

Welcome @HerbivorousRex nice to have someone on the same dpo as me, agreed though I'm trying to ignore everything but at the same time like ooh what's that haha! It's a whirlwind journey that's for sure. Let's hope for BFPs! When do you think you'll test? Xx

Dannii892 · 17/06/2021 12:38

@Peachycream I suppose it is early days and of anything you're learning how your body operates and what the norm is.. ive learnt so much this month from the cbopks/Google and this thread.. I mean fingers crossed for you that it won't take 6 cycles but I understand how life just gets in the way now and than ❤

Peachycream · 17/06/2021 12:32

@Dannii892 I’m not really stressing that much to be honest, it’s only the first cycle, maybe in another 6 it’ll be a different story haha.

I don’t think we’re trying next cycle though as we’re not going to be together a lot, so it seems kinda pointless, from the dates he’s here we may catch the start of the window if we’re lucky but that’s about it and then he won’t be back until it’s over

OP posts:
Sparklingwine1 · 17/06/2021 12:00

Also @HerbivorousRex I found the first month TTC sooo stressful. I had convinced myself I was pregnant through symptom spotting and was crushed when I got a BFN.

The second month was a bit less stressful and now I'm in month 3 I feel much more chilled about it.

Sparklingwine1 · 17/06/2021 11:54

@PurpleCat88 yes I did think that OPKs will be different depending how concentrated the urine is etc. I know you are supposed to test at the same time each day if possible but I never do that.

@HRP1990 I tend to test religiously (1 or 2 times a day) up until my apps predict ovulation but then I am more lazy with it. I think I need to be more dedicated in testing all the way through to AF in case I am missing a peak!

@HerbivorousRex I haven't used that conceive plus lube but your point about it smelling like those aliens literally made me laugh out loud. I still remember the smell of those sticky aliens after all these years! 👽 i may try and avoid that lube and find a different brand 😂

HRP1990 · 17/06/2021 11:30

What I actually meant to say before my inner child took hold.. was that yes, I wish I could fast forward a couple of days too 😂

HRP1990 · 17/06/2021 11:29

I love Dubai @HerbivorousRex I’ve been like 6 times 😂 my boyfriend insisted we went in July the last time - big mistake haha.

what bought you over there?

@SkeletonSkins omg the sims!! I loved that so much!! I know I’m 30 and I shouldn’t admit this but I’ve been so tempted to purchase it haha, the new ones look so cool 😂 however I’m certain I’d become even more of a hermit if I did!

Dannii892 · 17/06/2021 11:25

Oooo I spent a month in Dubai before than pandemic! Was my last holiday.. its like another world!

Dannii892 · 17/06/2021 11:24

@HerbivorousRex
@Peachycream - oh really.. TTC is just so stressful isn't it .. I bet you can't wait for 🧙‍♀️ now so you can know for sure and get back to trying again .. I find the TWW so tiresome ❤

Peachycream · 17/06/2021 10:48

@HerbivorousRex with your extensive knowledge in this area can you explain my sudden LH rise for no apparent reason to us all? 😂😂

The UAE is supposed to be really nice right? It seems anyone who’s anyone goes there! They seem to have a big recruitment drive in the UK every now and again and I see all the pictures and think…..ahhhhhhh what a dream! Haha.

We’ve all said the same about sexual health lessons, they are ridiculously misleading 😂

OP posts:
SkeletonSkins · 17/06/2021 10:45

Another very negative opk which is totally expected at CD 10 just boring hahaha. Wish it was like the sims and you could hit fast forward for a couple of days 😂 is that awful to say 😂😂

HerbivorousRex · 17/06/2021 10:43

Thank you such much for such a warm welcome! I’m glad to have people that I can actually talk about this with (my husband has banned me from mentioning cervical mucus again!

@HRP1990 I live in the UAE so it’s really hard to get anything conception related over here (I’m not sure why, there are about 50 different types of lube and condoms in most chemists, so it’s definitely not to do with being conservative!)

@Peachycream The buying in bulk is definitely getting out of hand. My husband was very confused when 20 pregnancy tests turned up because ‘I thought we were only having 1 baby’. Luckily he knows how much I like to plan things so it wasn’t a massive surprise (he does laugh at my notebook of TTC data though!)

@CTMcG You’re so right, I can’t believe how expensive this is (in fairness I probably didn’t need to buy all the kit in month 1).

@PurpleCat88. Those OPKs look great. Looks like you’re nearly at your peak!

@Aries491. I’m at day 6 too and it’s so hard not to symptom spot. I know that there’s almost no chance that anything I feel at the moment is actually related to HCG but I still keep wondering if I’m hot/thirsty/tired/grumpy because I’m pregnant (then I have a little panic that I’m not sure I feel any different to normal and so I must not be pregnant 🤦🏻).

@Dannii892 an upset stomach can also be a sign of pregnancy. Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏽

Did anyone else find the first month of TTC really emotionally draining/felt that it wasn’t really happening. I think I spent so long being convinced by PSHE lessons at school that if a sperm got within 500m of me at any time then I would immediately become pregnant, that it’s actually been quite hard to adjust to the thought that I might actually have to try to become pregnant (this should not have come as a surprise- I’m a nurse/midwife with a Masters in sexual health 😂)

Also, has anyone else noticed that conceive plus lube smells exactly like those jelly aliens that you used to get in the 90s (the ones where there was always a rumour that if you rubbed them together they’d have a baby 😂). It was very off-putting when I realised this!

SkeletonSkins · 17/06/2021 10:37

Welcome to the thread @taytay2020 @HerbivorousRex @Sparklingwine1, fingers crossed it brings you lots of luck on this cycle!!

@CTMcG oh I hope they work for you, got everything crossed! I do think the ovulation support seems to be making a difference although I guess the proof will be in whether I ovulate early!

@PurpleCat88 seems like your peak is just round the corner, will you do another opk at some point today? See if it’s gone up more?

Peachycream · 17/06/2021 10:27

@Dannii892 I’m relatively confident, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if 🧙 turned up at some point today to be honest 😂

I agree with @HRP1990 it sounds like a good sign?

@SareBear87 Graph attached. I think 😂. No it’s not a surge, just a small increase. 🤷‍♀️

Welcome @taytay2020

SareBear87 · 17/06/2021 10:02

@Peachycream I think we need a graph! 😂 have you had two surges then?

I've found this month my OPKs have given a longer LH window than normal months, I'm wondering if it's because it's hot and I'm not drinking more to compensate?

Hi @Sparklingwine1 & @HerbivorousRex 👋🏻 I wish you both a speedy TTW!
Welcome @taytay2020 oooh! 🤞🏻then for you!

@CTMcG tell me about it! People always tell you houses & kids are expensive but no one mentioned the cost of just getting both!

@PurpleCat88 looks very promising!

I think there are quite a few of us now in the TTW, I'm hoping next week is going to be full of BFPs!!!
