Same as what @GingerTea333 said! I aim for every day or every other day in my fertile window. I also don’t tell my boyfriend when my ovulating so he doesn’t feel any pressure? I read a few threads on here saying partners feel under pressure to perform, so I think it’s best that way!

P.S any football widows tonight? 😂🍷

GingerTea333 · 18/06/2021 19:59

@SkeletonSkins I love the way we always apologise for TMI when I genuinely struggle to think of anything that would be tmi this point! The entire point of this thread is to talk about sex and bodily fluids 😂

We try to do it at least every other day in the 5 days before O and then O itself. Still try to do it a reasonable amount before and after that, if nothing else so my bf doesn’t think I only want him for his sperm, but also prioritise things like time for gym etc more when it’s outside my window. I 100% feel better using OPKs like it’s the one thing I can control

SkeletonSkins · 18/06/2021 19:38

Absolutely agree. It’s like everyone’s looking for the magic key and reality is so much is just sheer luck! I do know a few people though who struggled to conceive for a while and then worked out they were ovulating at a completely different time in their cycle than they thougjt, so I do think OPKs can be helpful in making sure we’re at least targeting the right time 😂😂

Can I ask, and sorry if it’s a bit tmi, but how often are people BDing around ovulation? Is it best to do every day? For how long? Can you tell I’m a total novice 😂😂

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 19:15

@SkeletonSkins yeah I’ve seen a lot about prenatal vitamins helping people with pcos, even if all it’s doing is helping that it’s a win right?

This is what makes me go back to the whole profiteering off of vulnerability thing, you just do don’t you, if you think it’s going to help it happen quicker you’ll buy it, I’m exactly the same! The things I’ve bought online over the years and looking back it didn’t actually help or if it did the difference was so negligible it barely even counted 😂

You see so many things for either side, women saying “when I ditched the tracking and whatever else it happened and I’d been trying for 8 months +” and then I see exactly the same amount of women on the other side saying “i never used anything or tracked and was trying for x amount of months and the month I started using this is the month I got my BFP” I think it’s just gunna happen (or not) when it happens, that being said, I’m still not ditching my OPKs 😂

OP posts:
SkeletonSkins · 18/06/2021 18:58

@Peachycream totally agree it’s one of those things not for the internet 😂 with having pcos I’m guessing the vitamins are good for me although I am a marketers dream cause I’ll buy anything 😂😂

I’m interested to see if the conceive plus ovulation support makes a difference to my cycles, fingers crossed it does! It’s all so expensive though isn’t it, like I can see myself quickly getting fed up of spending extra cash on all the stuff!

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 18:43

@GingerTea333 I just wanna start this by saying, I read veganism and vaganism and had to take a double look and started laughing 😂😂

All of those are in this one that I’ve bought. My main concern is it making my cycle longer, I don’t really want to do that. It appears to be between 29-32 days currently and I feel like that’s a pretty sweet spot to be.

Yeah it’s definitely something you need to be prepared to be in for the long haul, like we’ve all said before, I wish I knew all of this before

OP posts:
GingerTea333 · 18/06/2021 18:33

@Peachycream well I still take folic acid because it’s super cheap and that’s the one thing that gets recommended. I also take a few things anyway like iron / b vitamins (but that’s mainly because of the veganism), vitamin d (just because we don’t get enough sun) and magnesium for muscles / energy. But I took all those before and they are all pretty cheap. I honestly haven’t felt any different not taking the additional vitamins this month. I guess that could be why I ovulated 2 days earlier than normal but I have no idea! I think I am now seeing this as a bit of a marathon and like others have said I have mostly made my peace with it taking a bit longer, but I’m already spending so much on OPKs, fancy lube etc that if I can save £25 a month on vitamins I might as well

Sorry, that is a bit of an essay!

HRP1990 · 18/06/2021 18:30

I’d be sneaking off for a couple of quickies @GingerTea333 makes it more exciting then 😂😂

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 18:13

@GingerTea333 I know right! Haha!

So you don’t take anything anymore? Do you find any difference between taking and not taking? I’ve bought some as they were on an offer, but I’m still in two minds as to whether to take them or not?

Sucks doesn’t it? That sounds like a plan to me! 😂 I’m not wfh so I can’t do that unfortunately, or I would 100% be with you! Haha

OP posts:
Peachycream · 18/06/2021 18:09

Hi @80sPadme
I saw that it leaves a bit of a taste in some of the reviews.
How are you finding it though? Do you feel any benefit from it at all?

I’ve also just seen your reply re not freezing eggs, I totally respect that you wouldn’t want to.
Fingers crossed that it all works out the way you want it to 🥰

OP posts:
GingerTea333 · 18/06/2021 18:08

@Peachycream booo to 🧙‍♀️ getting you. What a dick 😡

I have been taking multivitamins but decided to stop purely because I’ve now been trying for so long that it’s getting expensive! Will start again if I ever get pregnant though!

That’s rubbish about your clashing schedules, I am in a similar boat. For July I am seriously considering going up to where my boyfriend will be working and making him sneak off site for a couple of quickies - the joys of still being stuck wfh 😂

80sPadme · 18/06/2021 18:04

Hi @Peachycream
I am taking the proceive as I have short cycles so hoping it lengthens them a wee bit.
It tastes a bit Confused but you can down it and drinks something straight after to mask the taste. I found it far easier on my stomach than the pregacare conception ones which made me feel a bit Queesy.

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 17:59

I would like to add, that I haven’t read the study I mentioned, I literally just googled quick to make my point that no matter your school of thought there is a study to back it up.

This isn’t an issue I am concerned with. There are 1000s of things that can be passed down, diabetes, cancer, mental illness, heart disease, the list goes on. However ASD seems to be something that consistently comes up, as though it’s something to be fearful of, when it isn’t. There are far worse things out there.

I feel like this is a very hot topic and a lot of people have a lot of opinions, but I’m sure we can all agree, it’s not a topic for the Internet 😂

OP posts:
Peachycream · 18/06/2021 17:31

@SkeletonSkins 😂😂😂 hopefully you’ll have ovulated by then, but that did make me laugh.

As per the studies, that is interesting, and I’m not personally offended, however, you’ll always find a study out there that confirms your personal beliefs, on whatever subject, so while there may be 5/6/7 studies that say that there will also be the same amount of studies that say different.

There’s also a study that suggests that autism spectrum disorders are 80% reliant on inherited genes. No amount of vitamins is gunna change your genes, or what genes you pass down, if that is the case.

OP posts:
SkeletonSkins · 18/06/2021 17:20

Aw @Peachycream I’m so sorry to hear AF has arrived. You absolutely have to stay with us though as like you say who knows how your cycle will work out, and if nothing else you’ll be a pro by sept at spotting everything! If it helps, my cycle is so shit I’ll prob still be waiting to ovulate in sept 😂😂

With the prenatal vitamins, I’m going to sound awful saying this but I’ve read a few studies which have found that mothers who took prenatal vitamins were less likely to have a child with autism. For various reasons this is something I’m a bit wary off, and obviously whatever child comes along we’ll adore, but if I can make life that bit easier for them then I will do what I can now to make it less likely. Really sorry if that offends anyone but it’s the truth. Having said that I’m sure if your diet gives you the vitamins etc you need anyway then it won’t make much difference, and the thing that makes the biggest difference is folic acid anyway.

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 17:18

Hey @Sparklingwine1

Thank you for sharing that with me 🥰

I’m not sure I’m really worried about missing it, I knew we would have a few odd months when it wouldn’t be possible and I’d already made my peace with that, I think what got to me today was that it would all be in one hit, ya know? I hadn’t anticipated that could happen, and I don’t know why because it was always perfectly possible 😂

Truth is, there’s nothing I can do about it and it could always change in that time. And this is all obviously going off of predicted dates from premom so it could all work out in the end and we not end up missing much anyway.

I get what you mean about the 1st cycle and being a crazy person though, I totally went down that road at ovulation this time 😂

OP posts:
Sparklingwine1 · 18/06/2021 17:00

Sorry to hear that @Peachycream

I am on cycle 3 this month but I had a 2/3 month break in between cycle 1 and cycle 2 because I wanted to pause while I had both vaccinations.

I actually felt a bit of relief to have that pause at the time because my first cycle trying was SO intense and I really worked myself up into crazy woman levels! So I think that break after the first cycle was good for me. Now cycles 2 and 3 have been more chilled out.

Maybe you could keep trying but with lower expectations and then that way you won't completely miss the chance but you will also be more relaxed?

xxx

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 16:43

@HRP1990 yeah you’re right, I’ve bought them, so I’ll take them and see how I get on I think. See if I notice any difference. I read all of the reviews and loads of women have said they have more energy, so even if that’s all I get out of them that’s great. The reason I don’t believe in them is I’ve tried multivitamins before and never noticed any benefits what so ever.

It is what it is I suppose, and between now and September schedules can always change and move around, as they often do

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 18/06/2021 16:33

@Peachycream I’ve been eating really well the past month, like you said getting what I need from food but I worry it’s not enough.

I think I’m going to carry on taking them because if anything it lengthened my follicular phase by 5 days which can’t be a bad thing I guess!

I’m sure it’s different for everyone but 1 month can’t hurt. If it’s not for you then don’t re-purchase

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 16:26

@HRP1990 this would be my worry about them, I’ve seen so much on here that it’s ballsed up people cycles.

Just to give my body a boost, I try to get my vitamins from my food but, I’m not always great at it, admittedly. Will you continue with them this month?

Yeah that would be nice 😂 at least we would all know where we stand, no guessing! Haha

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 18/06/2021 16:20

@Peachycream okay I got you! Wouldn’t it be nice if our cycles were like for like every month 😂🙄

Well I took vitamins last month and my cycle went from 25 days to 31 🤷🏻‍♀️ That may have just been co-incidence but I guess I’ll find out this month! Also 🧙🏻‍♀️ Has been insanely light.. again could be coincidence!

Would you be taking those to shorten/lengthen your cycle or just to give your body what it needs?

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 16:10

@HRP1990 yeah we clash until September haha! July is possible, if my cycle follows this month it’ll be the most likely of them all, which ironically, is the one we wasn’t going to bother with as we thought we’d totally miss it. As for the others, going by pre mom we will either catch the start of my window or the end like we did this month. If the months and dates never changed at all, we’d be sweet 😂

I’m considering taking Proceive, just to try and give ourselves that extra boost, but as I’ve said before, I fully feel like supplements aimed at TTC/pregnant women are profiteering off of vulnerability, so I’m torn as to whether to bother spunking the 25 on it 🤷‍♀️

OP posts:
HRP1990 · 18/06/2021 16:00

@Peachycream I’m sorry to hear that, damn that witch🧙🏻‍♀️

By September do you mean your schedules clash until then? Is he away for like all 5 days of every fertile window? You never know you may ov earlier or later than predicted so don’t rule yourself out so quickly.

Stay positive and have a large glass of wine and a big slice of cheesecake for dinner!

Peachycream · 18/06/2021 15:49

And as for the BFP @HRP1990 you lot are likely to find out before he does 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Peachycream · 18/06/2021 15:48

Hi ladies,

Sorry I’ve been MIA, I’ve been keeping up with you all via my emails pinging 😂 just been a busy day with work today and haven’t had much time to reply!

So my update!

🧙 got me, well the pre-flow spot got me this afternoon so CD1 begins tomorrow.

I’m good with this, I had no expectations for this month and if I’m honest, I’m kind of relieved that I didn’t get my BFP this month, not because I didn’t want it, but because it gives me more time to just mentally prepare, ya know? More time to check my boxes kinda thing. And everything happens when it’s supposed to.

What I am not good with, however, is now that I’m out this month (I’ve had a look at our calendar) I am not essentially out until September! Fucking September?! Unless we get lucky. That has been a bit of a blow for me today, I’m not gunna lie to you all.

I’m gunna stick around with you all (if you’ll still have me?) and keep cycle tracking with you all and my cycle buddies, you never know, the stars may all align at the right time before September (🤬)

How is everyone else’s day? 😂😂😂
