It probably is even if you are not necessarily 'feeling it' iykwim

@SkeletonSkins

Oooo fingers crossed *@Dannii892* 🤞🤞

Right brill thanks everyone for the DTD advice 😂 Now I’m after OPK advice - I know these are still negative but would you test again later today to see if it rises again?

Cd 12 is really darkening so at this point I would test more than once a day as my surge comes on quickly and is short so I could miss it. I would recommend doing it more than once from day 12 I case you ov early and miss it

HRP1990 · 19/06/2021 11:44

Looks like it slowly rising @SkeletonSkins I’d do 2 a day if you’ve got alot of OPK’s just encase you miss your peak!

HRP1990 · 19/06/2021 11:41

@KayL1988 I’m not sure if it’s the food, the supplements or what but 🧙🏻‍♀️ was super light! My skin is also really good at the moment so long may it continue! Lots of greens, fish abit of red meat (cheese) etc

SkeletonSkins · 19/06/2021 11:41

Oooo fingers crossed @Dannii892 🤞🤞

Good morning all!

Welcome @Eli707 I think it's really common for contraception to mess up your cycles. My nurse told me to come off my contraception over a year ago, we were having a chat and she basically said the guidance is quite fuzzy but she saw a lot of women who were frustrated they didn't stop sooner. Are you taking prenatal supplements? Some people say they've helped their cycles!

Sorry about the bfn @Dannii892 ... it's not over until 🧙‍♀️ shows her ugly face!

@SkeletonSkins typically we do it on the couple of peak days and average every other day on the high fertility days around them. I also try not to talk too much about it with OH because of the pressure.. although this month I definitely had to tell him because it was so hot 😂 😂

@Peachycream i know what you mean about prenatals. I read somewhere that the stuff you eat in the run up is so important, and generally my diet is good.. however most studies show that even healthy diets are usually short on some key vitamins folate/vit d/calcium... and I'm definitely having less calcium since smelly cheese ban!

@HRP1990 I'm glad it's been light :) have you had lots of good food?? Xx

PurpleCat88 · 19/06/2021 10:50

Morning ladies! 1DPO here so finally in the TWW crew! On the subject of DTD we try to do every other day up to my peak then 2/3 days in a row 😉 It’s roughly the Sperm Meets Egg Plan (SMEP) if anyone’s read up on that?

@Eli707 - welcome to the group! I came off the combined pill in November and I still think my cycles are a bit wonky as I also have a short luteal phase of around 10 days. I’ve ovulated a lot later this cycle in CD22/23 so not sure what’s happening this month as last month I got my peak on CD17. Bodies eh? I’ve also read The Impatient Women’s Guide to Getting Pregnant - I think it’s such a good book ☺️

80sPadme · 19/06/2021 10:22

I sent off my 21 day progesterone test today to check that I am ovulating. Wasn't too bad- 2 finger pricks and then just squeeze the blood into a vile to the line then seal, package up and send off. Should know by next Friday if I am ovulating Confused

Dannii892 · 19/06/2021 09:44

@Aries491 thank you 😊 I'm hoping too! No cramps at all so far and I would usually get mild on off cramps by now I think ❤
Stuffy nose is a symptom I think 🤞

Aries491 · 19/06/2021 09:35

Good luck @Dannii892 :) hopefully she doesn't show!

It could very well be hayfever @HRP1990 just hope it passes today as I'm going out tonight so don't fancy being bunged up haha!

Dannii892 · 19/06/2021 09:32

@HRP1990 Thanks lovely.. ill let you know how I get on ❤

HRP1990 · 19/06/2021 09:29

I’m hoping the later for you @Dannii892! Let us know if she shows on Wednesday!

Could it be hayfever @Aries491? The cramps sound like a good sign though!!

I love that everyone is at different stages so there’s always a constant update! Hopefully someone is due to join @glasspaw in the BFP group soon ❤️

Aries491 · 19/06/2021 09:18

Morning Ladies! Hope everyone Is well and have a nice weekend :-) welcome @Eli707 this is a fab supportive group, sending baby dust your way!!

I am about 7/8 DPO today and keep getting small AF cramps on and off and then feel full of cold, can't stop sneezing it's crazy. My face is also really puffy i look like I've gained weight but the scales object to that lol! Hopefully all good signs and not a cold although you can never be sure with our bodies 🤣🤣 xx

Dannii892 · 19/06/2021 09:17

Morning all, I tested first thing this morning but I thinks it's a bfn! So I'm just going to wait for 🧙‍♀️.. either she comes on Wednesday or I havnt built up enough hcg .. so frustrating! The only thing keeping me going is the spotting at 10/11dpo which have never happened in my life.. wish I had more exciting news ❤

Eli707 · 19/06/2021 08:46

@Peachycream Thanks - I'm thinking I'll give it until September before seeing anyone about it. My main concern is my age as I'll be nearly 39 by then.

Peachycream · 19/06/2021 08:34

@Eli707 I’ve seen loads about the jab messing up people’s cycles, why are we not told that before, during or after having the jab? Why is it something women are just having to figure out for themselves?

For now, I’d try and take some comfort in the idea that your body is just getting back into its own rhythm and then if it’s still not happening in another couple of months talk to your GP if you’re concerned. But like I said, if you feel like this is something you need to discuss now, then absolutely go and do it.

I don’t really have any advice other than that, I was advised a long time ago not to continue with the pill as there were better things out there xx

Thanks for welcoming me in

@Peachycream I suppose you're right - just feels like it's been forever! Plus my last cycle got messed up after my COVID jab which was really frustrating. Would have come off the pill sooner if I'd know it would take so long to get back to normal.

@SkeletonSkins I track bbt using and app so attached screen shot. This is from a couple of moths ago as part way through current cycle and last on was a disaster as mentioned before. I think it looks normal compared to what I've read - 'Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant' was brilliant if anyone is looking for something useful to read and not too long either. Peachycream · 19/06/2021 08:13

@HRP1990 pleased to hear 🧙 has been light! What more could you really want when she does show up? 😂

Yeah, I’m glad about it, it’s made me feel a lot calmer about it all. But then again, with 🧙 showing up, it’s quite possible that yesterday I was just emotional and hormonal and therefore, being totally unreasonable 😂

Hi @Eli707 welcome!

So correct me if I’m wrong here, you came off in January but your periods didn’t return until…..March? So (although you may not find this comforting) technically you’ve only been able to try for 3 months? I know that it can take a while for your body to get back into its groove after being on the pill and from what I understand, the first bleed you get after coming off is a withdrawal bleed and then after that is a regular period (correct me if I’m wrong) so if all of that is true, you’re probably literally only just now back to some kind of normal with your body, I don’t know if that’s any kind of comfort to you at all.

If you feel like you need to know, which is perfectly acceptable, NHS guidelines are that over 35 if nothing is happening after 6 months you can go to your GP.
Xx

Oh yes, @Dannii892 have you tested!? 🤞

@Peachycream Sorry about 🧙🏻‍♀️ However it looks like it’s in your favour now things have moved around abit, your schedules are more in sync!

🧙🏻‍♀️ Has been soo light! Literally one heavy day and the rest medium/light which is fine by me 😂

I can’t give too much advice @Eli707 as I’ve only been trying 1 cycle.. but you’ve haven’t been trying long/been off the pill long so I’d say your body is still regulating. I’d definitely go to the doctors if you have concerns! Most couples conceive within a year so you’ve still got time ❤️

SkeletonSkins · 19/06/2021 08:06

Welcome @Eli707, could you maybe post one of your BBT charts? I think it is totally possible that your body is still re-regulating post pill. I’ve been off since January after 12 years and mine still feel a bit up the wall (although that’s partly because I have PCOS, but I know that it can take some women up to a year to go back to ‘normal’ after the pill). It sounds like you’re doing everything right so fingers crossed this is your month 🤞🤞

Eli707 · 19/06/2021 07:47

Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking for a while but this felt like a good time to join in and get some advice if anyone has had similar experience?

I’m 38 and came off the pill in January ttc #1 having been on the pill for 19 years (microgynon for about first 7 years, then Cerezette since then). Took 7 weeks for first AF but been regular 27 days cycles since then. Been tracking BBT and seems to indicate ovulation at day 16 which I know is a shorter LP. Also been using Clearblue OPK which seems to agree with that - usually peak on day 15. This months is our 5th cycle and no joy yet.

I’m concerned that my body isn’t back to normal yet after stopping the pill after so long on it - get a big splurge of EWCM about 4/5 days before I think I’m ovulating but that seems to be it - doesn’t continue after (although didn’t notice any the two months previous to this cycle!). Also this month the day I got AF just cried for ages for no good reason like I used to before the pill - not had that since I’d stopped taking it. Timing BD for every other day from day 10 and both peak days from OPK.

Worried about going to see doctor and being told just to keep trying as I know time is not on my side and feel I need to know if something isn’t right.

Any advice/similar experiences greatly appreciated Smile

Peachycream · 19/06/2021 07:19

Morning ladies

Where are we now, I was just having a little look at the list @KayL1988 made yesterday, is it just @Dannii892 testing today left from our little group?

The thing that I’m really enjoying about this group (apart from the laughing) is that we don’t have a week when we have no one due/testing so it seems. Which is nice, because I think it would be really easy to get super self absorbed if all I had to focus on was my own cycle. I like that it’s giving me other ladies in the same position to think about and be excited for. I dunno if anyone would agree with that 😂

Update from my end, now that I’ve logged my 🧙 today, my predictions have all moved around again, which means I’m not going to be totally out until September now, which has made me feel a bit better, we will still catch some, it’s possible we won’t make all of the window and will miss some of the “important” days over that time but at least we can now catch some of it. Again, providing nothing changes again 😂

How is everyone else? @HRP1990 how is the old 🧙 treating you? Has she gone yet?

OP posts:
Sparklingwine1 · 19/06/2021 05:30

We vary really on how much we BD depending on work commitments and tiredness but normally aim for at least 3 days in the fertile window, with one of them being the LH surge day.

I have read that quality is better than quantity and that a man produces his best and strongest sperm when he is most aroused. I don't know how true that is.
