A few questions about a V.V faint + (?)...

Because I haven't had my period yet (it's now over 2 weeks late) I took a pregnancy test just after it was due (-) a few days ago (-) and a few hours ago. I thought it was negative but took it into another room where there was more light and there is sort of another line (it's clear blue where you get a + or -). But it's only on the bottom of the cross (so it's now a T shape) and very thin, not as thick as the horizontal line. Is that just an evapouration line? I went into the bathroom bin to get the instructions, and I saw the test I put in there a week ago - it is a very definate +... is that an evap. line? Or did I throw it away too early? I threw it in after I guess 5 mins or so... maybe less, I can't remember! What do I do? Can the GP confirm either way, or do they do the same sort of tests? THanks.

so sorry

LadyOfWaffle · 22/11/2007 10:17

THanks Got to test when my 2nd period is due again, I guess it was just a missed period and evapouration lines.

well?

funbags · 21/11/2007 12:24

I'd go and buy a first response, having done a load they seem to be the most sensitive and clear to read. good luck. I have devided that I am - and i am not going nuts!

LadyOfWaffle · 20/11/2007 14:45

I dunno why he didn't. I found out our local (ish) super drug do pregnancy testing so have to take a sample down in the morning, but blood test is more sensitive, isn't it?

I sure it just a coincidence then, but there is no reason why your GP cant do a blood test at least it will put your mind at rest. Good luck. Do you have a walk in centre near you I am sure they would have pg tests.

LadyOfWaffle · 20/11/2007 13:34

Shoulder pain has gone now, went a day or so ago.

I have been watching this thread with interest. I am sure you will be fine but with shoulder pain and shooting pains I think this needs to be checked out. Every GP surgery can give you a blood test even if they give you a form and you get the blood taken at the hospital or walk in centre. A blood test will give you a answer either way. Get back on the phone to your GP.

Just got back, he said to go to a Chemist and get them to test me, but been driving round all the local ones and they look at me as if I am mad! He said his test was no more sensative than a shop bought one, and just let him know the result. Now I really don't know what to do!

have been reading with interest as almost the exact same thing going on. 1st test 26 days -ive, next one's at 29 & 30 days v faint positive's. Did one day 35 in the eve looked negative. Did another this morn (day 36)positive but faint. Was about to book up Gp appt when I read this so might wait.

When I had DD1 had the period like pains you describe, was convinced i was coming on, they went away after a fews days - never came to anything.

Also with DD1 I did a much more expensive test that lit up straight away - these ones have all been cheap - dont know if there is anything in that, but perhaps the expensive ones are more sensitive. hope docs has gone ok.

NAB3littlemonkeys · 20/11/2007 08:05

Hope all is okay?

Little bit if advice, if you are very early on don't agree to a vaginal examination, especially if you have had a ny bleeding.

Good luck

debinaustria · 20/11/2007 07:54

good luck at the Drs

Just looked up ectopics and it said about shoulder tip pain, mine was killing me the same as after a laparoscopy the past few days. It's gone now though, so could have been dodgy sleeping... hmmm...

OP posts:
LadyOfWaffle · 19/11/2007 23:44

It crossed my mind, but ectopic would be agony, wouldn't it? This is just like really bad ovulation or period pains and has been niggling for over a week now, just got abit more stabbing tonight.

OP posts:
NAB3littlemonkeys · 19/11/2007 17:55

Ectopic?

LadyOfWaffle · 19/11/2007 17:52

No, I am going to the GP instead because I think the same will probably happen again. Going tomorrow morning, no idea what he will say though, whether he will just tell me to wait or what. I had a pain in my side that felt a little like period pain, but very sharp so still might come on soon. It's all very confusing.

Personally I would say try a digital one as you get words not dots or lines so it is definite one way or the other.

Though mine said pregnant and I read it as not pregnant as I knew both results would say pregnant.

Louandben · 19/11/2007 17:37

I dont think you should pay any attention to the week old test, at least I am pretty sure from memory that that is what it says in the instructions.

The digital tests actually say "positive" or "negative" in words so should be no doubt either way but they are the most expensive.

Personally I had a very faint line and felt sure it must be positive because I dont think any kind of line shows if the pregnancy hormone is not there. It was so faint that DH refused to believe it until I tried again the next day and got a clearer line (of course the advice is to wait a few days before testing again but who can do that?!). It may be that your cycle isnt exactly as you thought/regular as normal and so you may not be as late as you think, but still pregnant!

We are all waiting to find out - good luck!

DANCESwithHughJackman · 19/11/2007 17:22

WELL.....is your dh back with that test yet??!

LadyOfWaffle · 19/11/2007 11:38

LadyOfWaffle · 19/11/2007 11:37

It was a early one, from 4 days before you are due on. I did have a tiny spot of blood about 2/3 weeks ago, but a + would be alot more positive by now if it was, wouldn't it? I'll get DH to look for a dot test
