@October1979 I’m thinking I might do the same this cycle. I can see it will do any harm.

I don’t know anything about Amh. I’ve never had mine measured so I don’t know. It’s just something I read somewhere that stuck. X

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 25/06/2021 16:57

Like @sabtom I had my first vaccine in the TWW and didn't know if I could be pregnant or not. I had Pfizer and they said it was safe either way. I wasn't pregnant that month, but the following month got my BFP.

sabtom · 25/06/2021 14:50

@Geriatric1234 When I went for my second AZ jab, one of the questions asked is 'could you be pregnant?' I said yes because I was in the TWW and I could've been pregnant and not known it yet (I wasn't at that time) but they said to be on the safe, come back the following week if I get a BFN. They said to me if it was Pfizer or Moderna they would've jabbed me as they said they were safe to give to pregnant women but they didn't have enough research yet for AZ.

@Mum2baby07 some women with reoccurring miscarriages/ chemicals are advised to take aspirin. It thins the blood and makes sure enough gets to your womb to produce a good lining. It is thought that some women clot and aspirin makes the difference. Some say wait until you have a positive and some say taking it may help implantation. Also some articles say it won't make a difference. I'm just trying something different xx

@Geriatric1234 I too am getting my second dose on Monday 10dpo. I don't think it will be a problem. However I did get my first dose and had a chemical that month. I also had a chemical the month after. I don't think the vaccine had anything to do with that. Just egg quality. I'm going to get mine x

Guys: need thoughts! WWYD?

Just been offered earlier 2nd Covid dose. I can get it tomorrow at 7dpo. I’ll break all my early testing rules and poas, but regardless I doubt anything will show that early.

I’d feel so much happier getting the second dose, and I can find no evidence of it causing fertility issues (though most of this is from the USA and they aren’t using AZ which is the one I had).

I had quite a big reaction to first jab (temperature/early period) but apparently the second jab is far less of a reaction.

All input welcome!! Xxxx

Geriatric1234 · 25/06/2021 11:39

@October1979 Uk measurement is in pmol I believe, but also you aren’t out until it’s zero xx

Mum2baby07 · 25/06/2021 10:51

@Catconfusion can I ask what dose of aspirin you’re taking?

October1979 · 25/06/2021 10:37

@Catconfusion I'm taking aspirin throughout this cycle. Not had any medical advice but just trying to do something different. I also bought natural progesterone cream to apply from ovulation. Just in case it might help as doctors haven't been very helpful. Do t know if any of it will help but you never know. You mentioned your not out unless amh is below 1. Is that pmol/l or ng/ml?

Hello ladies,
I was panicking as the period was a couple of days late after the jab but it seems all fine.
I’m going for blood tests tomorrow to see if there’s any reason for two losses in a row (one was a chemical). One of the tests is a thyroid test which I’m dreading as don’t want to be put on medication. Tsh was a bit higher than 3 last time.

Marvellouslymadmum · 24/06/2021 18:48

@Mickymackyboobaaboo oh that's good news hopefully that'll help

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 24/06/2021 18:12

Thanks @catconfusion. Glamping sounds like fun! Good luck with the referral.

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 24/06/2021 18:09

@Marvellouslymadmum I called the GP this afternoon and they're going to do the day 21 bloods for me next month. Hopefully it'll all give me a clearer picture.

Catconfusion · 24/06/2021 17:17

@Geriatric1234 exactly, there are so many success stories. I think our bodies want to do it, it’s what we’re designed for. Age makes it harder and in some cases impossible but so many women manage it. Our age group is the fastest growing demographic for childbirth. Even bigger than teenagers. So it’s totally possible. Don’t give up! Xx

Geriatric1234 · 24/06/2021 16:32

@Littlemiss40andfabulous LOVING yours and @Sabtom's updates! xxxxx

Geriatric1234 · 24/06/2021 16:32

@Lastyearttc I posted a thread a few comments ago which is about a woman trying to decide whether or not to use her 2nd IVF embryo, but what's lovely are there are SOOO many stories about older mothers in the comments! I'm also 43 in August, and I'm just letting nature have a good shot, but I don't feel out of it yet. I think it's just luck at this age, but as @Catconfusion said, you aren't out until you stop popping out eggs! x

Catconfusion · 24/06/2021 14:42

@Lastyearttc how funny they both did it today. Fingers crossed for a quick appointment for us both. Don’t give up hope. A good friend of mine had a baby a 44 with no problems. I can imagine it’s tough if you’ve gone a year without a positive test but if your test results look ok it could still just happen. I heard you’re not out unless AMH goes below 1. I’m not sure who said that but as long as there are eggs, it’s possible. Also healthy people much younger take a year and it’s considered normal.

We’ve been ttc to conceive since the beginning of the year. Out of 4 cycles (my cycles are long) I’ve had 3 early miscarriages. I had my ds last April so I’m hoping it’s just recovery from my elective c section. I’m 42 next Wednesday. Time goes so quickly. It feels like I was turning 40 5 minutes ago! Xx

Lastyearttc · 24/06/2021 14:27

@Catconfusion funny that, my oh also did his SA today lol. Can't believe he did as postponed last time due to work! That's all our tests done, just waiting for the consultant appointment mid July now. I'm 43 in August so am thinking is not going to happen for me now, 12 cycles since last mc

Catconfusion · 24/06/2021 09:57

@October1979 are you taking aspirin now? I’m debating whether to take throughout the cycle. I hope you’re keeping well!

@Littlemiss40andfabulous great news about the midwife appointment and good you’re feeling confident. Fingers crossed all is well at the scan. I was a teacher for 12 years and can imagine it’s a good distraction. Take care though and get as much rest as you can.

@sabtom great news on the 3+ It’s so difficult to know judging by symptoms. I felt the same with my mmc and my ds. I vomited every day with both pregnancies so I think with lots of symptoms or none it can go either way. The midwife and GP were both reassuring about my mmc pregnancy based on symptoms not knowing I’d already lost it. Until the scan it’s so difficult to know what’s going on. Fingers crossed for you it’s good news.

Good luck with the tests @Mickymackyboobaaboo

@pinkypink24 I hope you get to the bottom of why you’re having a long cycle. Mine are usually horrendous at 50 plus days so I feel your pain.

@Honey2 I hope you’re keeping well and feeling better. Did the midwife suggest aspirin on a bfp or just take it every day? My gp told me to take it with a bfp with ds so I started at 12 dpo and the pregnancy was healthy. I’m now wondering whether to start after ovulation or now since I’ve had three chemicals.

As for me, I’m cd 10 and had the most horrendous bleeding and then spotting after my last chemical. I barely had a positive test with this one yet my bleeding was worse than more established losses 🤷🏻‍♀️. Anyway it’s stopped now so I’m ready to try again. I turn 42 next week so feeling a bit conflicted about ttc and whether we have a chance now. We’re away glamping when I’m hoping O will come so might be nice to be relax we. DH has his SA today so we should get our fertility referral soon. Anyway I hope you’re all doing ok. Xx

October1979 · 24/06/2021 09:08

I'm so glad things are going well@Littlemiss40andfabulous @sabtom it's lovely to hear and helps keep me positive xx

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 24/06/2021 07:23

@sabtom congratulations! That's wonderful news! So pleased for you.

To answer your question, being a teacher helps with the wait for the 12 week scan- as I have so much to try and fit into each day it's a good distraction. In fact even if I'd chosen to go for an early scan I'm not sure where we'd have fitted it in! I fully expect to have to rearrange the 12 week scan as it'll be for a time I have teaching commitments on.

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/06/2021 23:40

@Littlemiss40andfabulous that's so good to hear, really pleased everything's going well for you

@Mickymackyboobaaboo I'd say go for your tests and see what comes back, have you had your bloods checked with your gp? They will do some for you too

@sabtom that's good that you've got 3+ I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on those and a lot of people never even get a 3+! Don't forget every pregnancy is totally different, I had loads of symptoms all the way through with my son but barely anything with my daughter!

Mickymackyboobaaboo · 23/06/2021 23:11

@sabtom I'm sorry to hear about your previous MMC; I can understand why you would be anxious this time around. Sending lots of positive vibes your way.

sabtom · 23/06/2021 22:15

@Mickymackyboobaaboo no it's my 2nd. 1st one ended in MMC unfortunately. It was the same with the first pregnancy, no symptoms, so that's why I'm a little anxious this time round. 😕

Mum2baby07 · 23/06/2021 20:55

@pinkypink24 thanks for the photo - that massively brings it home and one step are now firmly filed in the bin!

@Mickymackyboobaaboo and @Marvellouslymadmum really appreciate the top tips regarding bbt. It’s currently on order so I’ll let you know how I get on when it arrives. Keen to understand what’s happening as still awaiting first AF post mc and finding it hard as worried it make take ages to ovulate again and just don’t have time on my side!

@Littlemiss40andfabulous lovely to hear your update and you are keeping well! You too @sabtom!
