Nice to hear from everyone.
Cd7 here. cycle 7. 3rd cycle properly ttc following mc.
Cycle 1 - chemical
Cycle 2 - early miscarriage
Cycle 3 - first cycle after miscarriage so skipped ttc
Cycle 4 - could not try all of fertile week
Cycle 5 - tried but not successful and had first Covid jab late in cycle
Cycle 6 - tried but not successful.

Geriatric1234 · 29/06/2021 20:45

@Marvellouslymadmum THANK YOU for that reassurance! Thought that might be the case and don’t want all this ttc stuff to impact every part of life!! 🤣🥂

@Honey2 thanks! Not had any symptoms so v unlikely but will test anyway. Might wait a day as MarvMadMum makes a good point.

@Catconfusion HBD for tomorrow!!! Im 43 in August, you young slip of a thing! 🤣😘 xx

Honey2 · 29/06/2021 20:38

@Marvellouslymadmum 🙈 I’ve also recently had my second jab and I do think it effects things.

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/06/2021 20:11

@Honey2 long cycles are not fun! I've had three in the last couple of years so not too bad but I think this last one may have been down to my second Covid jab

Honey2 · 29/06/2021 20:08

@Marvellouslymadmum thanks for that.. I think after my last MC I had an ‘anovulatory’ cycle, so maybe that’s what happening again. I hope so, rather that and get back to normal rather than a really long cycle 😬

Marvellouslymadmum · 29/06/2021 19:52

@Catconfusion lovely story! My bloods have all come back ok so far so I'm hopeful at some point it could happen to me! I was 42 in March and I did have a major sulk that I wasn't pg yet but I'm over it and don't care anymore lol

@Geriatric1234 having a couple of drinks won't effect anything at this star anyway as no umbilical chord for a while so you'll be safe even if it is a positive after a negative. I've been having a few watching the football which is the first time drinking for me this year but I thought stuff it why not!

@sabtom good luck for your scan Thursday!

@Honey2 last month my body attempted ovulation three times then finally managed it on the fourth cd33 ended up with a 50 day cycle so it can happen that way or you can have an anovulatory cycle where you dont ovulate but still get a period

I'm currently cd4 so heading into bding time and hoping for a normal length cycle this time

Honey2 · 29/06/2021 19:50

@Catconfusion sorry tagged the wrong person!! 🙈🙈

Honey2 · 29/06/2021 19:48

@Geriatric1234 sorry forgot to wish you happy birthday for tomorrow!! Hope you have a lovely time away, Glamping will be lush! X

Honey2 · 29/06/2021 19:47

@Catconfusion what a great story - thanks for sharing.
@Geriatric1234 I’ve always had a line on FRER at 10dpo… so I think you’d see something at 11dpo. Good luck!!
@sabtom so pleased it’s all good so far. Massive best wishes for Thursday. I have everything crossed. Is it a private scan or NHS?

I’ve no idea where I am in my cycle! I think I may have ovulated on Sunday or yesterday. Didn’t get a peak on opk (high but no peak) but had lots of CM (sorry tmi) and temp was higher this morning but not high enough. We’ll see what tomorrow brings! If I haven’t ovulated what happens? Does body keep trying or can you still have a period without ovulation?!

Mum2baby07 · 29/06/2021 19:31

@sabtom so glad to hear you’re ok. I got terribly out of breath when pg too so that sounds promising! Wishing you much luck for Thursday!!!

Mum2baby07 · 29/06/2021 19:30

@Catconfusion I was getting some symptoms and because I’ve had chemo in the past that’s known to affect fertility they assumed peri and gave me oestrogen pessary and a gel to use. To be honest I used it for a few months but it seemed too much hassle and I stopped about 9 months ago and my symptoms seemed to ease better without. Possibly those symptoms were just triggered by coming off the pill after years on it. I’m not going to use anything again until I really feel I need it as I’m less convinced i am peri now. I think I’d rather throw caution to the wind and let my body do what it wants for a bit which is hopefully have a successfully pg!

Catconfusion · 29/06/2021 19:05

@sabtom glad you’re getting on ok. Good luck for the scan. It’s so nerve wracking but hopefully it will come quickly so you can get some reassurance. Xx

Catconfusion · 29/06/2021 19:02

@Mum2baby07 how was your peri diagnosed? I can’t believe my friend was on hrt and fell pregnant. She thought it was end of the road and it wasn’t. We all have a chance at this. I’m hoping for lots of bfps on here soon. Xx

Catconfusion · 29/06/2021 19:00

@Geriatric1234 I’m good thanks. It’s my 42nd birthday tomorrow which feels bittersweet but we’re away glamping and having a good time. I’m cd 16 and getting a high opk so hoping for a peak in the next few days. If not then its back to long cycles for me 😔. Last cycle was normal length but a chemical though I was relieved to see O early. So I’m hopeful it’ll be another shorter one. Xx

I’d say at 11dpo it would show on a frer. It’s a difficult call though as I’ve heard of people getting bfps later though I wonder if they’re sure of O day.

sabtom · 29/06/2021 17:54

Hi @Mum2baby07 and everyone! I'm doing good just trying to keep myself busy and not feel to anxious every time I get a slight twinge or cramp 😕 No symptoms yet really, I just get out of breath going for walk now but not sure if that's to do with the pregnancy or just unfit lol I go for an early scan on Thursday just to check viability and make sure the bean is in its right place, I'll only be 6w so I'm not expecting to see much. Thanks

Geriatric1234 · 29/06/2021 17:46

Ahhh thanks @Catconfusion! And how are you doing?

How is everyone?

I’m CD 21 and 10dpo. I’m on a staycation and wondering if I test tomorrow and it’s BFN I’m safe to drink….? I know…I’m the stuff of mothering handbooks…🙊🙈 Thanks in advance - I never test early so not sure if it’s safe to assume. Xx

Mum2baby07 · 29/06/2021 17:42

Lovely story @Catconfusion. I cling onto the fact despite being told I was peri as well I’ve had a pregnancy - yes I mc but I also wasn’t taking any vitamins etc as thought I couldn’t get pg so you’re right - until you actually reach proper menopause there is still hope!
@sabtom and @Littlemiss40andfabulous you are our beacons of hope! How are you both getting along?

Catconfusion · 29/06/2021 16:54

A bit of encouragement for the ladies on here. My friend was told she was peri-menopausal at 36 so assumed she wouldn’t be able to have another baby. She even needed HRT as her hormones were all over the place. She’s now 41 and just found out she’s pregnant. It was such a shock. She’s now at the 8 week mark and all is going well. It’s a lovely story and gives me hope as my hormones came back normal so I’m not peri yet. Just goes to show, even when eggs get low a normal pregnancy is possible. I’ve got every crossed it’s all ok for her as obviously it’s very early. Hope you’re all ok. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 26/06/2021 10:38

@Honey2 I've not been referred to recurrent mc so I'm not sure about them but that is a quick referral as my gynae referral was sent off in March and I was told it would be an 8 month wait, lucking my appointment came through for end of august instead, still 5 months though.

Catconfusion · 25/06/2021 22:06

@Geriatric1234 it’s such a difficult one. I think it’s probably safe to have. It’s just if something goes wrong, will it play on the mind it could be because of the vaccine.

I had an early mc in both cycles I had the AZ jab. The first one I think it was unrelated as I had it during AF. However the second one was a few days before ovulation. After I was really ill all week. I seem to get a very strong immune response from the jab. I then got a very faint bfp for a few days which then disappeared. I do wonder if in my case the nasty flu like thing I had affected our chances. It’s probably unrelated and I know statistics and data don’t support a mc risk but my body did not feel strong at the time. It all kicked off after the jab. Anyway I’m relieved I’m covered now and at least if I do get a bfp I’ll be less likely to get Covid. Xx

Mum2baby07 · 25/06/2021 21:29

Thanks @October1979 and @Catconfusion my GP mentioned it to me but we didn’t really go into detail as I was calling her to report my mc and ask for fit note at the time. I might ask again.

@Geriatric1234 I had my first dose just before I got pg but my second while still pg (although mc at time) as I’m higher risk. Current advice is if you’ve had AZ first dose to have as second even if pregnant. I know this because my GP researched it thoroughly for me before I’d consider having it. It’s the risk of clots that they now offer pregnant women Pfizer or moderna instead of AZ but I was fine. I was concerned about the effect on the baby (hence my GP researching for me) but then when I knew I was mc and I was on the cusp of being more than three months between vaccines I decided to just get it as it’s been shown to be more effective to have the two within a three month timeline. My advice? Do what’s right for you! Your body. Your decision.

Honey2 · 25/06/2021 20:22

@sabtom congratulations on the 3+ it must be nice to see things moving along.
@Littlemiss40andfabulous glad all is well for you too… Smile

@Geriatric1234 I’m not sure id go for the jab until you’ve tested and can be sure your not preg. I do think the jab has an effect on cycles - I’m waiting to ovulate and it seems to be taking ages following my jab. It could be the MC also but after my last MC I ovulated straight away after the bleeding stopped. This time it’s been nearly 3 weeks and nothing yet. ☹️ Agree though - important to get the 2nd dose in.

I got my referral to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. Apt Is not until 17th Aug however. I know that’s pretty quick in NHS terms but to be honest if I hadn’t fallen preg by then I’d kinda made the decision to move on and through the towel in. Anyone been referred? Do you know what they test for? I’ve been told the apt is about 2hrs…

Geriatric1234 · 25/06/2021 19:55

Thanks @October1979 , @sabtom & @Littlemiss40andfabulous! I think I will get it but maybe push a few days just to be safe xx

Catconfusion · 25/06/2021 18:37

Obviously aspirin isn’t for everyone and it’s probably best to speak to a doctor before taking. However not all doctors are clued up on the benefits. I’m only taking because I took it throughout my only successful pregnancy and my excellent GP advised it might be helpful in my case.

Catconfusion · 25/06/2021 18:35

@Mum2baby07 it’s just the baby aspirin so the 75mg ones before bed. A doctor once told me bedtime is the best time to take it. X
