@October1979 hang on in there. I know it’s incredibly tough. I had hyperemesis with ds so was vomiting every day but on the odd morning when I wasn’t sick, I panicked. Symptoms do come and go in early pregnancy. It’s terrifying but you got your 3 plus test and no reason to think this one won’t progress. Today you are pregnant! I would reach out to your epu if your doctor has sent you that way. I know you’re worried about not seeing a heartbeat but maybe at this point just seeing the pregnancy sac and knowing it’s in the right place might help your mental health. Or maybe they could do some beta tests to reassure you. I’ve got everything crossed the next week goes quickly so you can get the reassurance you need. Xx

October1979 · 12/07/2021 13:26

@sabtom yes I will go for early scan but was hoping to wait till 7 weeks. I don't want there not to be a heartbeat then have to wait another week worrying. Just in case it was slightly too early. @Honey2 my doctor is hopeless and refers me to epu for any pregnancy related questions. I think I will have to wait this one out. I'm feel as if I'm almost looking for negatives and for this to end because of the MMC and the 3 chemicals. It's hard to stay positive as it's never worked out before. I feel that if I get past 7 weeks with normal looking scans it will be a milestone for me. Especially as my scan with MMC was small although had a heartbeat at 7 weeks they were concerned it wouldn't process which it didn't xxx

@October1979 could you ask your dr if they would consider doing bloods for beta hcg levels? If all is well (which hopefully it is) levels would be doubling every 48-72 hrs.

sabtom · 12/07/2021 13:09

@October1979 Will you be going for an early scan? I know that helped me, seeing a heartbeat at 6 weeks. This first trimester is the worst isn't it?! The worries are just unbearable Thanks

October1979 · 12/07/2021 12:47

@sabtom I'm 5+3 weeks

@October1979 I didn't really have any symptoms, my nipples were slightly tender to start with but the past few days they feel normal. Lack of symptoms did worry me at first but I've heard of more women go on to have healthy pregnancies that have had no symptoms at all. I even asked the midwife about this and she reassured me lack of or disappearing symptoms are nothing to worry about. I know it's hard not to worry but hopefully that puts your mind at ease. Remind me how many weeks you are?

October1979 · 12/07/2021 12:29

I more worried about the loss of symptoms. How have your symptoms been @sabtom . I feel my breast tenderness is less xx

sabtom · 12/07/2021 12:28

@October1979 the test line is darker than the control line, that's what mine looked like.

October1979 · 12/07/2021 12:19

Slightly worried this morning I've been feeling quite crampy the last couple of days and I feel less sensitive in my boobs too. I feel the early signs I had are fading. Did a test this morning which shows progress but just have an awful feeling that this is not a good sign 😢

@Mum2baby07 if opk low then definitely sounds like cyst or just hormonal. If your cycle is regular, o likely happened. Hopefully you’ll get some good news soon. I’ve found the cycles where I got more sensations in my tummy, I tend to get a positive test. Fingers crossed for you! Xx

Catconfusion · 12/07/2021 12:04

@sabtom aww bless you. Definitely sounds like baby is giving you some nausea. It’s so exciting! Xx

Mum2baby07 · 12/07/2021 11:42

@sabtom I don’t think you can blame covid for yourself nausea - sounds like that’s baby all the way! Lovely news! And even more reason not to get hungry…. I’m still eating for two even though I’m no longer pg …. Oopsey!

Mum2baby07 · 12/07/2021 11:40

@Catconfusion thanks for reply. Yes I should have said I repeated opk this morning and as low as low can be so it confused me even more! Perhaps it is a cyst and should self resolve as you say. It doesn’t hurt luckily it’s just like someone is pulling me inside so it’s more than bearable. I just wondered what it was but the cyst seems most plausible - thanks!

sabtom · 12/07/2021 11:01

Thank you @Catconfusion @Mum2baby07 Apart from the lack of smell I'm more or less back to normal. However, I feel I'm getting a few waves of nausea, which tend to happen when I get pangs of hunger 🤔 and feeling quite emotional and sorry for the England players this even though I don't even like football or even watch the match lol

Catconfusion · 12/07/2021 10:38

@sabtom meant to say I hope you feel better soon xx

@Mum2baby07 I’d be surprised if O happened so far after a peak opk. Are you temping? Have you done another opk to see if it’s another peak. Sometimes the first one doesn’t quite work so your body will go again. Also when the follicle ruptures to release the egg, your ovary can develops what’s called a luteal cyst. These can get quite big and cause a bit of pain but usually go away on there own. So it could be something like that. I tend to get a bit of pain and pressure during my tww which I think in my case is hormonal. Xx

Mum2baby07 · 12/07/2021 09:42

@sabtom sorry to hear you haven’t been well - hope you’re better soon! And throwing up avocados isn’t the worst thing - just be glad it isn’t carrots… oh wait! Lol

@October1979 I’m the same. I know I can get pregnant just not if I can get pregnant with a sticky one so will keep going until I know either way. Let’s hope yours is an ultra sticky one!

Also, after some guidance on opks. Is it possible to ovulate 5 days after peak as been having pulling sensation on and off over last 12 hours or so and feels like it’s in my ovary… I’m assuming it’s ovulation and I’ve missed my peak as we had Sunday off DTD thinking we’d passed peak lol

October1979 · 11/07/2021 20:51

@99pctpractice We did have a consultation and they gave us 16% chance of success. For me I thought those odds were to low and potentially setting me up for heartache as I would want to keep trying if it didn't work. I was worried where it would end and how it would impact us emotionally. It is also very expensive for each round. We discussed egg donation abroad which had 70% chance of success and similar cost. We decided to try naturally for as long as we felt we could. If it didn't work then discuss if we wanted to be parents or if we could live without children. If we reached the end and wanted to be parents ED was just he route we would take. I know it's not for everyone and hopefully this pregnancy progresses but that's what we were thinking.
However I think you should do what is best for you, whatever feels right and makes you feel proactive and positive. I think after speaking with a consultant you will know what you want to do xx

If you already have a child, no you won't be eligible through the NHS plus the waiting time could be quite long.

Mattieandmummy · 11/07/2021 20:31

Well... I guess if you get there in the end does it matter how you got there? No one will judge you if you go for IVF, in fact I think people are actually more pleased for you when it works because you had to struggle but succeeded. That's my two cents anyway x

99pctpractice · 11/07/2021 19:58

@October1979 great to see that it's all progressing!
and @Honey2 all fingers crossed that it's on track (after your recent loss it is completely understandable that you would be worried, but hopefully this one is a sticky one!).

i got my period on Saturday, so had a bit of a weep yesterday. we decided to get private fertility tests, so are due to have the consultation on wednesday, but i'm now not really sure what we're going to get out of it, other than that we're a bit old and therefore it's just harder to conceive than it would be 5 or 10 years ago...and i'm almost certain they'll suggest ivf (or iui or similar) because there basically isn't any other potential solution other than carrying on trying naturally. when we started ttc-ing, i was pretty adamant that we didn't want to go through ivf, but i am now much less sure. there's maybe something about trying that makes you want it more? we wouldn't be eligible through the nhs, so would have to go privately and the cost might make it not feasible, and i think emotionally it would be very stressful for both of us. what are other people's thoughts on ivf?

Catconfusion · 11/07/2021 16:59

@Honey2 your line looks so similar to mine when I was expecting ds. Try not to worry I know that’s easier said than done. Every pregnancy is different.

It sounds like it’s now common practice to send for nipt if the combined test is high risk. I think my only concern would be the waiting times to get the results. You could feasibly be 14/15 weeks before knowing something is wrong. It could make options more tricky if things need to end. Obviously it’s horrible at any stage but I’d want to do it as early as possible should the worst happen. I think I’ll definitely book a ten week nipt and pay the money so @sabtom I’m with you on that one.

@October1979 wow I’m so happy for you. Literally made my day to see that 🙂 Xx

October1979 · 11/07/2021 16:21

@sabtom I realised looking at your chart that mine didn't have temp or heart rate. When I went into my settings they had been turned off. I couldn't understand it. Thanks for sharing x

@Honey2 my line was a similar colour at 12dpo and continued to get darker over time. Try not to worry. I think they look good.

I got my 3+ today. I think I am 5+2 weeks

@Honey2 they look like good strong lines, how many dpo are you?

sabtom · 11/07/2021 14:49

@October1979 I had had an NHS scan and my future ones will be NHS too. I was offered them due to previous miscarriage, age and I'm diabetic. But my local EPU are pretty good anyway, if you're prepared to wait a few hours at the walk in they will scan you if you're having cramps, spotting or just generally feel anxious. As for Ava, yes I've turned it into to pregnancy mode and I have no idea what I should be monitoring. To be honest I just use it to monitor my weight and read how the baby is supposed to be developing. The high readings in the last few days on the RPR, skin temp and BR must've been due to COVID.
